Eagle lived for one thing…the club. But when the Disciples MC became defunct, he felt lost. Needing to hustle and make more money, he took a side-gig at a swanky event center to work security. The money was decent, but the boss…she was everything Eagle always wanted in a woman. He stayed for her and no matter how hard he tried to resist her; she had a pull over him like no other ever had. And when another man goes a little too far, he’ll do anything to keep her safe.
Lacey’s had one too many broken hearts. She decided she needed a break and wanted to focus on her work. She had her dream job, and everything started to go her way. Until her last boyfriend, who lied about being married, tries to get her fired. As her personal and business life collide, everything spirals out of control. Lacey’s doesn’t have much hope in men when a biker she’d hired steps in, having her back like no one else.
And what should’ve stayed a professional relationship takes them on a path they never expected, but neither one could stop. Can two broken hearts find love again?
Broken Hearts is the last book in the Open Road Series. It's a romantic suspense, opposites attract, later in life romance.
A slight age gap, Boss/Employee dynamic, family interactions, broken hearts, injustices, drama & suspense, emotional struggles and so much more.
What a great story. I Love the connection between Eagle and Lacey and how protective he is of her. The way their romance develops makes it feel so authentic.
Broken Hearts pulled me in right from the start, and I finished the book grinning!
That's Chelle Bliss's style. You always have a smile after reading her stories. I truly love her writing.
4.5⭐️ Broken hearts is such a sweet and tender (with a little side of rough) love story - pure Chelle Bliss! Eagle and Lacey are both at a crossroads in their life. They’re a little bit broken, but they’re less broken together. Turns out even broken hearts can love again. Love again and building new dreams, together…
This is the fifth book in this amazing series, and this is Eagle and Lacey’s story. Lacey is working at her dream job as an events planner, while Eagle is a member of the Disciples MC, and he and club brother are hired to work security at her events. Lacey has been hurt in the past, and the last thing she wants is a relationship, but when she comes face to face with her ex, who is the father of the bride, Eagle steps in to come to her rescue. This is a well written story which is an easy to read, action packed story, with family, friendships, emotions, intrigue, tad suspense, an age gap, lies, challenges, boss /employee, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, spicy, and unpredictable, addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
5 Star Review Broken Hearts (Open Road #5) by Chelle Bliss
I love this series; every book gets better and better. This is Lacey and Eagle’s story and was a fabulous addition to the Open Road series from Chelle Bliss.
I fell hard for Eagle, he ticked all my boxes; I loved the development of his relationship with Lacey.
Ms. Bliss drew the reader in with characters that will have you quickly invested in their story.
The connection between Eagle and Lacey was palpable and it was entertaining to watch as they fell in love.
From the first to the last chapter, I was invested in the story that Ms. Bliss wove.
Chelle writes stories that are truthful and believable. Her words addict you to the story and make you yearn for the HEA the couple deserve. This book is no different. Eagle is used to people only seeing the outside and being misunderstood but his passion for Lacey is something that makes everything change. Lacey's life has been a series of disappointments that start to change when she opens up and lets Eagle in. Some secrets don't want to stay hidden and the fallout nearly breaks them. I think this is my favourite book from Chelle and I couldn't put it down. I loved the strength in the characters and also their insecurities that made them human. Can't wait for the next book!
Eagle was a searching for what he was missing since the club went legit. Lacey was working her dream job as an event planner. There paths crossed when he started working security at the venue where Lacey worked.
When Lacey needed 'help' with a situation during an event, Eagle was there for her.
Their working relationship just needed a spark to move on to something more . . . that neither one was looking for. They were both flawed and looked past those flaws.

Broken Hearts Open Road Series, Book 5 By: Chelle Bliss Narrated by: Samantha Brentmoor, Jason Clarke
It is great to be back in Chelle Bliss’ “Open Road” world again for another amazing novel, the fifth and final book of the series of standalone novels with interconnected characters. This book is Eagle’s, a biker from the Disciples MC and Lacey’s story, and wow, what a story it is, one that captivated my attention and tugged at my heartstrings the entire time. Eagle has been struggling since the Disciples MC went legit with all its businesses and he feels like there is something missing, probably the excitement of the fast jobs and fast cash. He has been working several side gigs, including working security at the catering hall/event center, and he has a thing for the event planner, Lacey, but she is too good for him, too sweet, and too innocent. She is the reason he stayed in the job, and when he sees her being treated poorly by a client who has her all frazzled, he steps in and takes control of the situation. Lacey loves planning weddings and making the day special for the lovebirds, but she never had luck with love in her own life, and one of her biggest mistakes was her current client. Her ex liked to her about his wife, who was clearly still in the picture and the woman has it out for her now. Eagle is there for her and when it all hits the fan, he helps her, not only by being there for her, but points her in the right direction to protect herself from the ones trying to ruin her. It was great to watch these two, first dance around each other and then get to know each other. These two have serious baggage and trust issues, perfectly broken and their pieces that fit together nicely. When his past comes back to haunt him, it threatens to ruin what they have. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. As always, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development, and it was great to see how far both characters grew by the end, into their own and as a couple.
🎧📚🎧 With Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke at the mic, you know you are in for a gem of a listen, an amazing performance with exceptional character voices and a spot on portrayal of each. Both nailed it as the two lead characters, with Ms. Brentmoor acing it in her role as Lacey, grasping every aspect of her personality from her vulnerabilities to her strength and determination, and Clarke doing the same as Eagle, showcasing his personality and demeanor perfectly. They were just as fantastic performing the roles of the secondary characters, too. Their pacing and tone are right for the story and they captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These two are a wonderful narration team, with voices and talent that complement each other and a performance that takes the already amazing story to another level. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.
Oh, yeah. Broken Hearts is feeling like vintage Chelle Bliss and I'm the first to say there is nothing better! This love story is one I did not want to end. In fact, I'm hoping we might just get a bit more of Eagle and Lacey in future books. They couldn't be any more different if they tried yet their hearts are more than similar as both were hesitant and damaged by those who deemed them unworthy of love. The boss and her top security guard didn't plan on falling for one another but the simmering attraction both felt after two years together finally boiled over and when it did, it was fireworks like neither had ever experienced before. And I was there for every decadent moment and trust me, there are plenty!
I think what has me loving this book so much is how Bliss portrayed both Lacey and Eagle's vulnerability when it came to matters of the heart. How both are seemingly swept away by the other but face an uncertain future as Lacey is accused of sabotaging a high-end wedding at her place of business by the family of the man she had an affair with for 14 months. The despicable Dylan continues to keep Lacey from living her best life, having to face the fact that she was lied to by this horrible man and has a fall from grace that is beyond unfair.
But Eagle is always there to catch her and with his own doubts about what his life should look like as his beloved MC club is a bit too legit for his current tastes, both he and Lacey have to fully reevaluate their futures. The rough spots they have aren't what they had planned for but I appreciated that Bliss didn't make it too easy for these two to overcome the doubts and bad decisions each made as the book progressed. In fact, everything Lacey and Eagle have to deal with felt very real and the timing was truly perfect from start to finish.
Yes, these two seemed to go from zero to sixty in a hot minute but the chemistry was hard to deny. Although it took some time for both to be on the same page and finally realize their true potential when it came to their professional lives, they were each other's key to finding what they knew was going to be their forever.
Of course, we get glimpses and support from a few of the wonderful Disciples as Eagle finds his footing and I have to say that I loved how easily Lacey fit into that world. Her mom is another highlight, always there for her daughter with sage advice and a hug when needed. Although I wouldn't have minded just a bit more wrt Lacey's dad, a bit of a mystery there that I somehow think will be revealed at some point in the future (?) Hmmm...
Overall, Broken Hearts is a winner and shows Chelle Bliss's talent for pairing unlikely lovers who fire up the pages of my e-reader with the right amount of devotion, passion and most of all love. Truly the very best kind of romance.
ꕤ 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀 ꕤ ♡ Age Gap ♡ Forbidden Romance ♡ Protective Hero ♡ Opposites Attract ♡ Friends-to-Lovers ♡ Romantic Suspense ♡ Biker Romance ♡ Workplace Romance ♡ Undeniably Attraction ♡ He Falls First
I haven’t read a Chelle Bliss book in a few years, and I’m kicking myself! The moment I jumped into this, it all came back to me as to why I love her books so much. She writes the most intense, the hottest, and the most addictive, all-consuming story that you can’t put down, and Lacey and Eagles in Broken Hearts is all of that and more. It took me on one hell of a bumpy ride, and I loved every second of it.
Lacey is such a sweetheart; she’s strong, resilient, and extremely headstrong. When she wants something, she will work hard to achieve it, and she’s done just that and works her dream job as an event planner. She has always wanted to be one, and when she is working hard, she is truly in her element. She would have to be one of my favourite female main characters that Chelle has ever written. She is just so down-to-earth and such an easy character to love.
And now, there Eagle… Woah… Eagle, Eagle, Eagle. He’s the bad boy biker that girls go weak at the knees for and I saw as shit was. He’s tough and extremely r rough around the edges. He’s a little lost in life at the moment and is trying to find a new path in life. However, he struggles with a traumatic troubled past and he now has to confront that.
Eagle and Lacey cross paths, not for the first time when Eagle is working security for the company Lacey is head planner for. Eagle has been pining for her from afar for years now so the moment he laid eyes on her again, the feelings for her came rushing back. Unfortunately, Eagle has never had the guts to open up about how he feels about her, thinking he was never going to be good enough for her, which meant he kept his feelings down and kept his walls up around his heart, especially when it came to Lacey….Does Eagle have a chance with Lacey? Or will she brush him off? Will these two be able to navigate a relationship having both having a traumatic past?
I’m not going to dive in much deeper. However, I will say that the story is quite emotional and intense, which I didn’t expect, which isn’t a bad thing at all. It grabbed hold of my heart.
Chelle Bliss has given us another amazing installment for her Open Road Series.
Eagle and Lacey’s story is a sweet but emotional tale. Two souls looking for the same thing and struggling to find true happiness and purpose. Lacey’s head strong and has her future imagined and planned out. She's got the complete fairy tale in her head the only problem is life isn't a fairy tale and the frog is usually just a frog in Lacey’s experience. Eagle lived the life of a unlawful Biker and has been lost since the Disciples MC went legit. Trying to find a new Road in life and trying to shake the tortured past that keeps on confronting him. Working security for the company Lacey is the Head Event coordinator of he quickly falls for her and has been wanting her from afar for 2 years. Never thinking he's good enough and always keeping his heart locked down he keeps it all to himself until Lacey has a uniquely uncharacteristic meltdown due to her past mistakes rearing it's head at her. Eagle & Lacey have a quick hot and passionate trist in the restroom that ends with heart-wrenching and emotionally confusing end for both Eagle and Lacey.
Trying to keep distance because of the conflict of Boss/Employee relationship is difficult. When Lacey’s past slaps her right in the present and she losses her position in her dream job it's too much for Eagle to ignore and he goes to her to comfort her and be there in whatever capacityshe needs. When these two come together it's fire! They're two souls that were ment for each other. Finding the right person makes the world of difference. Their Pasts are still searching to wreck their future but everything that they both want is right within their reach, they just need to work together to grasp it together.
Chelle has a way of touching my heart and bringing me to my knees emotionally. She's given me and the rest of her readers an amazing journey with Eagle and Lacey’s love story. The perfect mix of emotions that left me completely swooning.
🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧 🎤 Dual narration by Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Performance: 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤 Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ POV: Dual, first person, present tense
This isn’t my first Chelle Bliss book, but it’s my first in 8 or 9 years, and boy have I been missing out on some really good storytelling. This is a heartwarming, steamy, later-in-life workplace romance between a wedding planner and a ‘retired’ biker. What an unlikely pairing! It’s book 5 in the Open Roads series and can be read as a stand alone, but I think the story would be more enjoyable with context from the previous books.
Eagle was a member of a defunct motorcycle club and now he’s working as security at an event centre where Lacey is the head wedding planner, and basically his boss. He’s in his mid 40s and she’s in her early/mid 30s so there’s an age gap. They’ve been secretly lusting after each other for 2 years. He saves her from a charged confrontation with her ex boyfriend, who she didn’t know was married, and is also the father of the bride of wedding she’s currently planning and things get heated between them.
This book was more emotional than I was expecting, in the best way. They’ve both been burned by love and don’t trust easily, and Eagle’s got the added emotional turmoil of feeling adrift because the life he’s always know has been taken away now that the MC has gone legit. They’re opposites, but they’ve got great chemistry and fit so well together. Two broken hearts who find healing in each other. The title is so apt. Eagle is so protective and supportive of her despite his own emotional baggage. When her life blows up, he’s there to help her through it.
Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor are 2 of my favourite narrators and they delivered a captivating performance that immersed me in the story and had me feeling the characters' emotions. My reaction to one particular scene just sums up how well they brought the story to life. (I’m not going to tell you what actually happens in the scene because you need to experience it for yourself without any kind of spoiler.) Early in the story, there was a scene that unexpectedly hit me on an emotional level. It takes place in Lacey’s POV and Samantha Brentmoor really shines in this scene. Then we get Eagle’s reaction in his POV. Being a spicy scene, I question if it was intended to be as emotional as I felt it, but it certainly left a mark on me. Even now, thinking about it stirs something deep in me. During the scene, Lacey experiences feelings shaped by her past heartbreaks and her concern for her job, while Eagle wrestled with his own baggage and assumptions about her motives. It was layered, raw, and deeply affecting. I was listening at work, so caught up in the whirlwind of emotions that my coworker kept giving me concerned looks, asking if I was okay.
Jason Clarke was the perfect choice for Eagle, his deep, gravelly voice embodying the commanding presence of a tough, intimidating biker. He masterfully captured the layers of Eagle’s personality – his strength, his protectiveness, and the vulnerability hidden beneath his rough exterior.
If you love emotional, spicy romances with strong, protective heroes, resilient heroines, and supportive side characters and found family, this book is for you.
*I received an advance copy from the author. These opinions are entirely my own.
Oh my heart, the way I am in love with Eagle and Lacey. “Broken Hearts” is an emotional, steamy and romantic opposites attract later in life MC romance that I absolutely loved.
Lacey is an event planner for a prestigious company and Eagle has been working with her for the last two years as security. When she needs him at an event for a very rich family, he’s there in his tuxedo. But the father of the family is someone whom she dated and he lied to her about still being married. And then he tries to get her fired. But Eagle is her knight on a Harley and is there for her when she needs it the most. She’s been burned by men in the past but there is something about Eagle that is different. He too has been burned by an ex and isn’t one to play around with someone’s feelings.
From the first chapter, I was hooked on these two. I loved the lust between them that was apparent from the beginning and I thought they were perfect for each other from the start. Lacey is working her dream job and is extremely proud of the work she does. She’s close with her mother and wants to be happy in life. Her ex is a piece of work and man he made me angry more than once. Eagle has so many green flags and I loved how kind and caring he was with Lacey. He was protective without being overbearing and always made sure she felt comfortable. He had some demons from his past that made him feel less than worthy. But he’s an amazing guy who I loved so much. Their chemistry was instant and only grew hotter as the story went on. There is a tiny bit of other woman drama but once we get the facts about it, it’s all completely understandable. The ending was perfect and I hope we get more from them in the future.
Chelle Bliss delivers a master class in emotional spicy romance. With Eagle and Lacey's story, and what a beautiful story it is.
As these two characters couldn't be more different. But they do have one thing in common: bruised and battered hearts, and in Eagle's case, the feeling that he has never been good enough for anyone and never will be.
Yet, the pair have been mutually lusting after each other for two years. Ever since Eagle started working security at the fancy event centre, where Lacey works.
But Eagle is sure Lacey would never look twice at a guy who is almost pushing fifty, covered in scars, tattoos, and wears the leathers of the now defunct Disciples MC.
As for Lacey, she's just trying to survive. After being badly burned by her a-hole ex-Dylan. Who also happens to be paying for the latest wedding at the event centre, and who over the weekend of the wedding won't leave Lacey alone.
Until Eagle steps in. But in doing so he learns Lacey's dark secret and her whole world comes crashing down.
And when Dylan tries to get Lacey fired Eagle is there ready to stand up for her and give her a safe place to fall and in doing so their romance starts to blossom. But trust isn't something either can give away easily.
However, with support from the Disciples and Lacey's mum. The pair are able to find their footing and embrace their true potential. Not just as a couple but as individuals and professionally too. And I couldn't have been happier about that. As I just adored these two so much. Especially Eagle, who is such a great relatable real character and the perfect foil for Lacey.
I would happily recommend Broken Hearts to all.
My thanks to author Chelle Bliss for the opportunity to read an early copy of Broken Hearts. ☺️
Lacey is 30 yrs old, works as an event planner at a very nice company. She needed some new security members who had hired Eagle and his friend to help. They've been working together for a few years now, but have never crossed the line with each other, just always giving each other sexy looks. Lacey has had her heart broken more than she wants to count. But, now, the father of the bride shows up, Dylan and it's one of her ex's of course. One that never mentioned he had a kid, and was a widower. Dylan pushes and pushes Lacey during the weekend to get back together with him, but Lacey is stronger than she looks, and pushes back.
Eagle, is a little older, in his 50's, is a member of the Disciples MC. Although the Club isn't the same as it was years ago, Eagle is still around. He likes working the security gig. He watches Lacey from afar and has always wanted her, but hasn't ever pushed it beyond the boss / employee relationship. Eagle knows he shouldn't help, but he goes after Lacey to see if she needs anything once Dylan leaves and she kisses him! Lacey knows it's wrong, and they can't do much more than kiss.
Dylan's family 3 day wedding event seems like it is a lot to handle. Of course Dylan's wife finds out he and Lacey had an affair. The wife tries to cause a scene but Eagle gets everyone into Lacey's office and they talk it out. Will Dylan's wife cause more than just a tiff for the rest of the wedding? Will Lacey and Eagle be able to get together? Will Eagle be able to find a job or a path he wants to be on?
I did receive a free ARC Copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
This is the last book in the Open Road series, and while it can be read as a standalone-I recommend reading the other books in the series before this one. And what should’ve stayed a professional relationship takes them on a path they never expected, but neither one could stop. Can two broken hearts find love again?
I really enjoyed these characters! They have been through so much, but they both fill each other like missing puzzle pieces. And while they are truly different from each other, that just made them fit even better. There is the drama that I expect from this author, and I honestly love how she writes it! My only drawback, I wish that Lacey had been a bit more firm with some people. That was literally the only thing that dropped this story down for me.
In a case of opposites attract and age does not matter this couple ticks those boxes. In this latest installment of the Open Road series, we get Eagle and Lacey's story.
Lacey, an event planner at an upscale resort is living her best life until she is in charge of her ex's daughter's wedding - the ex that turned out was an adulterer and a sleaze. He manipulates the event making her look bad and eventually gets her terminated from her dream job.
Eagle, spinning his wheels since his motorcycle club has gone legit and the dynamics of it have changed is kind of lost. He has been working security at the resort that Lacey works at and she is his boss, but he is drawn to her, and it is getting harder to resist until things go wrong for Lacey. Too bad he has an ex of his own that he's been ignoring that can ruin everything he gets going with Lacey. Can this pair find and HEA??
This was a well written story that I enjoyed from start to finish. The pair had chemistry that was off the charts and Eagle is the type of hero that many look for. He was caring and concerned for Lacey and what was going on with her. He was alpha but not over the top alpha. Lacey was believable in that she felt dooped by her ex and wanted no part of him or his lies while also rightfully upset over his actions past and present. I enjoyed their story and the brief appearances of the characters from the previous series. Overall, I enjoyed this book and this series and would recommend it to others.
Broken Hearts Open Road Series, Book 5 By: Chelle Bliss Narrated by: Samantha Brentmoor, Jason Clarke
I am so excited to listen to another book in the Open Road series! This is Eagle and Lacey's story, and it's sweet, spicy and oh so good! Lacey is an event planner, weddings are her thing. That is until she is fired for having a relationship with the father of one of her brides! Eagle works security for the events and has been sweet on Lacey for a while now. Being there for her is no hardship and as he is definitely smitten with her. As he tries to figure out what he wants to do since he isn't enjoying his path since he misses the adrenaline rush he used to get with the MC, he is there for Lacey. This is a wonderful ending to the series. It's sweet as the two find their way together and each help to build not only their love, but a new life that is best for them both. Add in Lacey's mom, who is packed with laughs and sage advice and I loved this one. It's the perfect mix of bad boy and good girl. Always love Chelle Bliss's writing style, she knows how to win my heart!
Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke always are fantastic together but when they team up for a Bliss book, I know I am in for a treat. Brentmoor is amazing as Lacey. She plays the strong woman, dealing with a bad scene. She is guarded until she isn't and she does it all with her voice. Clarke is Eagle, the alpha male, wanting to protect and keep her safe. I love these two together, their chemistry is off the charts and made for an amazing listen.
I thoroughly enjoyed Eagle and Lacey’s story, book five of the Open Road Series by Chelle Bliss. As soon as I pressed play I could not contain my excitement.
Since the Disciples MC as Eagle had known it has changed, he finds himself a little out of sorts. The need to make more money sees Eagle working security at a flashy establishment, where he will work with Lacey.
Having her dream job and with everything in her life looking good, Lacey was happy. This is short lived. Her past personal life is about to slam head on into her professional one. Don’t worry Lacey, Eagle will be there to back you up!
I am here for Eagle supporting Lacey. He never once questioned her about the past relationship with douchebag Dylan, he was just there for her.
Eagle has watched Lacey from afar for some time, and felt he wasn’t good enough for her. Both characters had been burned in their past relationships. Can these two work through their past heartbreak and get together?
What is there to say about Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke, their performances as Lacey and Eagle had me completely captivated. The portrayal of Lacey And Eagle’s vulnerabilities, strengths, determination and love is top tier.
Thank you Chelle for creating this enjoyable Open Road Series. I will miss all these characters. Who knows we may meet again!
I really enjoyed Lacey and Eagle's story. This felt like Classic Chelle writing with some drama and a little bit of angst. It was just enough. It's been a while since I wanted to climb into a Chelle book and hit someone, but she accomplished that in this story.
I loved how Lacey and Eagle were so different, but they really completed each other perfectly. I hated that Eagle felt like he wasn't good enough for Lacey just because he didn't have his life completely figured out after the MC had gone clean. He just needed that one opportunity that could turn into something. I knew the info he was keeping from Lacey was really going to affect her. But I loved how they were able to work everything out.
My heart hurt for Lacey so badly with everything that she had to endure due to the awful antics of someone she thought she could trust. And the fact that her employers didn't have her back in regard to the situation really upset me. I loved how she was determined to hold her head high and fight back. She deserved the outcome. I just wished something bad had happened to her slimy ex.
I just really loved this story and really hope that we see these characters again in the future.
Each book in Chelle Bliss' Open Road series has been emotional, sweet, and very sexy, and BROKE HEARTS was no different. In this one we have two people just wanting to find some happiness and a bit of love in their lives.
Lacey Mercer is an event organizer/planner for a high-class resort, Easton "Eagle" Wilson is an ex MC member turned security person working at the same resort as Lacey. They have both lusted after each other since first meeting, but fraternisation between bosses and employees is strictly forbidden. When Lacey is put into a difficult situation at an event she has organized it doesn't take long for Eagle to step in and support her.
I loved the evolving relationship between Lacey and Eagle. Their chemistry simply sizzled and their heat was combustible, but it was their friendship and their banter which I really enjoyed. Nothing is ever smooth sailing though, and how they deal with the drama they face is what love is all about.
BROKEN HEARTS is the final book in a series I have thoroughly enjoyed, an absolute MUST READ.
I received a copy of this book from the puublisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
This is the story of Lacey and Eagle. Lacey is an event planner. This is her dream job and she loves every single second of it. Eagle is a member of the Disciples. Being an outlaw biker most of his life he has been lost since the club changed the way they do business. He is trying to find his way but the past that he lived keeps coming back to haunt him. When he begins to work security for the company where Lacey is the Head Even Planner he quickly falls for her. He has always noticed Lacey and carried a torch for her for a couple of years beforehand. Now is his chance if he felt like he was good enough for her. However he is there for her when she has a very uncharacteristic melt down and things are about to get very interesting for them. IF they can keep there past at bay these two will be amazing together. I can't tell you more than this. I loved these two separately and even more together. This is a beautiful love story that will have you so hooked you will not be laying this book down. I wanted it to go on and on. However, I closed this book with my heart full of all the great emotions when you read and absolutely amazing love story.
Lacey is doing what she loves. After a bad relationship ending it’s the last thing Lacey is looking for. After a few things happening at events Lacey decides to hire some bikers as security. Knowing that it’s not going to end well, she has to ask the bikers to wear tuxes to an event, an event that her lying ex is the father of the bride. Eagle wonder is the only reason he stays doing security is for Lacey, he knows nothing will come from it, he’s not good enough. When she asks him to wear a tux to an event, he immediately says no. Then he sees some vulnerability and says yes, because he would do anything to see her smile. The even is going well until it isn’t, with her ex finding her and deciding that maybe it’s not over, Lacey tries to be polite, then Eagle steps in. She knows there’s something about this man, who protects her without wanting to know what was happening. Eagle thinks after she stopped what was going on that she wanted to talk to him to say it was a mistake, but she more than surprises him. Eagle knows he’s not good enough but lets Lacey know what his feeling. Can the one thing Eagle hasn’t told Lacey ruin what they have.
𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 is Book 5 in the Open Road series by Chelle Bliss, featuring a riveting opposites attract, age-gap romantic suspense story for Eagle and Lacey. Now that his MC is out of commission, Eagle takes a security job with an event planning resort, where he becomes obsessed with his off-limits boss. When a mistake from her past makes trouble for her on a job, Eagle is determined to protect her at all cost. Will these two people with broken hearts heal with each other or end up broken again?
What an amazing way to end the series! I loved the connection between Eagle and Lacey… so much angst, yearning, passion, and emotion. I couldn’t put the book down with the dramatic twists and the fun appearances of some old friends, as well as new ones in Eagle’s family. I just love a well-written a found family vibe, and this author always delivers it with her alpha men, and the amazing women who fall for them. My heart went through it with Lacey, well both of them, honestly. It was a truly an entertaining ride, and I’m going to miss these characters!
I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Broken Hearts, book five in the Open Road series is all about finding your purpose and your dreams. Sometimes it’s easier than other times and sometimes life throws you a curve and forces you to modify your dreams and that is where Eagle and Lacey find themselves during their journey. I loved these two characters, with their very opposite backgrounds and lifestyles, as they navigated the challenges life thrown at them. It drew them together, made them stronger and gave them a better hope for tomorrow and having someone at your back and by your side is the best way to believe that love and a happily ever after is possible. Eagle is trying to find his passion after his MC has all gone into legitimate businesses and security at the upscale party venue for the past two years is where he met and works for Lacey. Lacey is the party planner for the venue and what she doesn’t expect is for a past relationship where her boyfriend lied about being married would jeopardize her career. Now, she has to alter her dream and with some bumps in the road, she and Eagle find their dreams aligning and their happily ever after right in front of them.
Broken Hearts is the first book I have read in the Open Road series and it has me wanting to read the first four books. Ms. Bliss delivers Eagle and Lacey's story. They are two people who are opposite but share a spark that people would not have expected. Their story is an age-gap, employer/employee romance where secrets break hearts. I was so engrossed with their story I could not put this book down. Broken Hearts is well-written, about love and family but also full of angst and drama. Lacey is an event planner and it is her dream job and now she can't stop thinking about the man that she has hired as security for her at the resort, Eagle. He is a biker who is trying to find himself now that the club he was in has changed and they are not an MC but more of a social club. Lacey finds herself in a predicament with the father of the bride she is hired to plan the wedding. Things get heated and Eagle finds himself coming to her rescue. Here is where the sparks ignite into something so much more but life throws both of them a curve that Lacey did not see coming. Secrets are kept, or not shared, and hearts are broken but will love prevail?
An amazing story full of likeable characters to love. Broken Hearts is yet another story from the Open Road series. Romantic, sweet love story for two people who have been hurt in the past. Times are changing for all the MC club members. Falling in love, marriages and babies. Eagle is having a tough time finding his place in life. He is missing something his past club life..... Working odd jobs here there nothing quite right. Eagle is a tattooed big man perfect to be security at a fancy event center. That is where he meets and falls for Lacey. She is the events coordinator. They both feel something special but never acted on it for two year. Until Lacey's past comes back. Her mistake is threatening her past, present and future until Eagle steps in. Will these two finally find their way into each others arms? Together fighting the evils aka people in their pasts. Karma has ways to fix the wrongs to make them right. Fixing Broken Hearts from the pain of unworthy people. So Lacey and Eagle can soar to new height in love and life.
Lacey enjoys her job as an event planner but the wedding she is currently responsible for is complicated as the father of the bride is a man she was in a relationship for over a year until she found out he was married. When the situation comes to a breaking point it is Eagle who is there for her as they finally give in to their feelings for each other.
Eagle is a member of the Disciples MC who offers security for the events that Lacey organizes. He has been attracted to her for a while, but he has a messy past of his own. When the chemistry between them escalates they must not only deal with the turmoil in the present but in his past as well.
Eagle is so supportive of Lacey when it comes to her job, and she wants him for the man he is. Both Lacey and Eagle have been hurt in the past and find themselves facing major life changes and that includes a future with each other. Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor do a wonderful job with the rough yet protective Eagle and the strong and resilient Lacey.
2025 is kicking off with a big bang. I was blown away by Lacey and Eagle. I was completely stumped by Eagle agreeing to wear a tux. A biker in a tux. Happy New Year to me and to Lacey as well.
Lacey has a crazy hectic job as wedding planner at Lantana, a place for the elite. She is put in a awkward situation that is getting worse by the minute. It wasn't her fault but who listens to the employee. Thank goodness the biker was working security and able to help out. Thank goodness he always seemed to have an eye on Lacey.
Lacey finds her life in turmoil. But thanks to the sexy biker; she has someone to hold her up. Get ready for this book to heat up fast. The chemistry between these two creates such an attraction. The drama within the story had me absorbing the story. Talk about complications!!!!! Their relationship isn't going to be easy, but the true love rarely is.
