How is this a debut novel?! 🖤
Elle (vampire and our FMC) and June (mage, Bestie) are both runaways who helped each other escape a troubled past.
The story starts when they run into a life or death situation with someone important in their city and they are the only ones who make it out safely.
In this city, vampires have kept themselves apart from humans to keep the peace. If/when they step out of line, Vampire Hunters are hired to eliminate the problem.
Elle and June’s actions require a Vampire Hunter named Kirk (MMC, very much like the hunters in Vampire Diaries) to come to their town and investigate. Elle and June’s indiscretions also require the very powerful vampire, Dae in a castle on the edge of town, to search for answers to see what rogue vampire is possibly setting them up.
When the truthis final revealed, no one is safe. Overall, this story takes us through a lot of ups and downs with all of the characters going through it.
There are miscommunications that can be frustrating between our love interests, but it does make the rest of their story sweeter.
In the end, some characters have a happier ending than others and excitingly, on the last page of the book, we are left with a possible sneak peek into possibilities for book 2
