Worth the Heat by Jennifer J Williams
~ Learn something new almost every time I read a book and Isabella taught me that glitter can have uses I never thought of…glitter bombing, indeed ;) ~ Coming in on book five was no problem except now I want to read the previous books, too ~
What I liked:
* Isabella Santo: baker, business owner, always loved cooking and baking, sixth of seven siblings that are more outgoing and most now settled, loves her family, doesn’t trust men, has an awakening or two in this story
* Sebastian Garcia: business owner, president of a motorcycle club, giving, kind, strong, patient, friends with Isabella’s brothers, fell for Isabella when he first saw her, single parent, loves his family, superb book boyfriend
* The supportive, loving, food-oriented, kind, protective families of Isabella and Sebastian
* The CCC book club run in the basement of Isabella’s bakery – and what they get up to
* The suspense part created by Isabella’s connection to the Salazar Cartel…and how that all plays out…eventually
* That the MC Club established by Sebastian is one that provides a safe haven for returning military veterans
* That Isabella really comes into her own as the story progresses…if only we could all be so bold
* The way Isabella easily slots into Sebastian’s life, her immediate love of Camila, and finding out how they are doing in the epilogue
* The mature open conversation between Isabella and Sebastian both in and out of the bedroom
* That there is another book to look forward to with Isabella’s brother Leo to star in this one
* Wondering if perhaps a spin-off series for the MC club members might be written in the future
What I didn’t like:
* Cheating Rick and Amelia – Karma definitely found them by the end of the book
* Thinking about how ruthless cartels, mafias, and other criminal groups can be
* Having to say goodbye to the characters after finally getting to know them
