Lyra came to Mistwhisper Falls to renovate an inn—not accidentally unseal an ancient evil or bond herself to a broody alpha werewolf.

She was just the granddaughter, the outsider, the chaos witch with no formal training and a suitcase full of second chances. But the moment her palm touches the founder’s rune buried beneath the inn’s cellar, everything changes.

Power pulses through the town like a storm—awakening old magic, stirring something hungry beneath the falls, and tethering her to Cade Halloway, the town’s impossibly hot, frustratingly protective pack alpha.

Now the supernatural council is watching her. The Mistbound is whispering her name. And the only way to fix the binding may require a bond that’s deeper—and far more dangerous—than either of them are ready for.

She’s supposed to save the town.
He’s supposed to keep her from falling apart.
Too bad fate forgot to ask their opinion.

Welcome to Mistwhisper Falls. Coffee’s hot, magic’s volatile, and the inn’s haunted… emotionally and otherwise.

Really? This heroine’s so dumb she just keeps doing the same thing she is told not to, over and over and literally over and whining that no one gives her respect. Well duh!
Overall. Thin plot, no character development , repetitive dilemmas with no resolution.
Would not be interested in any further attempts at a series.
Author gets 2 stars for finishing the book (sort of) and for getting it published.

The Story was interesting but the Fmc was just so stupid. She complains that they treat her like a child and tell her not to touch stuff. Then she goes home and touches stuft she shoudnt and acts like a child. So sehe cant be mad that they treat her like that. Just do what you are told for once.

Hex You Very Much begins the Miswhisper Falls series with Lyra’s and Cade’s tumultuous romance. Lyra is a chaos witch who has inherited her grandmother’s inn, her grandmother, who has not been in touch with her for several years. To say this came as a surprise would be an understatement. Yet Lyra has packed up her life with the intention of beginning anew in Mistwhisper Falls… she has no idea of what she’s walking into.

Cade is a wolf shifter, the sheriff of this small magical community. The moment Lyra entered the town, he knew his mate had arrived. The last thing he expected to discover was that his mate is a chaos witch who doesn’t understand her powers or her connection to the history of this town.

While getting the inn ready for its reopening, Lyra discovered something in the basement, something far more powerful than she could have ever imagined. Now, she and Cade must face down an ancient foe to save not only the town, but their connection as well.

Hex You Very Much by Milly Taiden is intense. While Lyra’s chaos magic is out of control because of the rune they’ve discovered, her stubbornness almost matches the chaos surrounding her. She’s strong, stubborn, with a kick butt and take names attitude, and often forges ahead without waiting for help. Cade is more cautious, less likely to truly believe in the mate bond, for he feels that Lyra is being manipulated into their union. An equally stubborn wolf, Cade, will take some convincing before he believes that Lyra really does choose him.

I enjoyed Lyra and Cade very much. The world-building is detailed, yet I feel that’s necessary for a brand-new world. An impression I had was that their romance would be a happy-for-now ending, as there are still battles to fight. Yet the cover blurb for the next book in the series doesn’t give off that feeling. So, my advice is that if you hesitate at cliffhanger endings, know that Hex You Very Much by Milly Taiden is complete in its happy ending for this couple, and that there will be more battles to come woven throughout the rest of the series. If you love a well-written shifter romance that’s intense, emotional, steamy, and has hints of humor with definite danger, then you’d love this one. I’m diving into the next story right now.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

This is a simply splendid read, the characters are wonderful and the read was riveting
Lyra had been left a home by a grandmother and she had inherited it even though she had not seen her grandmother in years and she had not been aware of the small town nor the home that had been left as her inheritance.
Cade is an alpha that knows all about the town and it seems that he has realised that he has a strong connection to with Lyra and he has the responsibility to the town she has discovered she has a connection with.
She hadn't heard from her grandmother in years. Suddenly, she inherited an old hotel in a small town she'd never heard of. Little did she know what else she inherited. He has discovered that he has a connection with Lyra a strong alpha discovering that their future may in fact be together, who would have believed that lives could change so much.
This is a wonderful read with great characters and a loyalty to each other and the small town you will come to love reading about.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

Review:

Mistwhisper Falls is the perfect blend of cozy, paranormal charm—and this first installment kicks off the series with a satisfying mix of heat, heart, and shifter magic. Lyra arrives in town simply to renovate an old inn—but soon finds herself locked into a supernatural bond with a gruff, brooding alpha werewolf, and unseals a centuries-old curse that won’t be ignored.

Milly Taiden spins a lighthearted, feel-good story with sizzling chemistry and tender moments. The HFN (Happily For Now) ending leaves the door wide open for book two, Let’s Talk About Hex, which continues the town’s mystical rom-com vibes.

What I Loved:
• Instant chemistry & slow-burn tension – Lyra’s tomboy grit and the alpha’s grump-and-sunshine dynamic threw off sparks 🔥.
• Paranormal small-town setting – The curse, werewolf lore, and magic-infused community feel fresh but cozy.
• Light & bingeable pacing – Short chapters and fun side characters kept me turning pages.

Final Take:
If you love easy-going paranormal shifter romances with a touch of magic and strong-willed heroines, this one’s a fun, steamy binge. It won’t rewrite the genre, but it hits exactly the right notes for a weekend read. Looking forward to where Mistwhisper Falls leads next.

I was 1000% influenced by this cover and stayed for the cozy small town vibes. This had all my Fall favorites, displaced quirky FMC moving to town to take over her late grandmas magical Inn that she has to fix up. Oh and wouldn't you know it she's fated mates with the town alpha wolf! Darn it! and there's a curse she has to break and a bunch of magical shenanigans to uncover along with sexual tension and witty banter she shares with her possessive and oddly protective new reluctant body guard who is now stuck to her like glue because every bad thing that can go wrong is going wrong because she's uncovered a dark secret she wasn't aware of......

HAVE I MENTIONED HE'S DOWN BAD FOR HER AND WILL BURN THE WORLD FOR HER????
HAVE I SOLD YOU ON THIS BOOK YET??????

My only real complaint is it’s do short it had to breeze over some details and character development but luckily there’s a book 2.

What happens when a witch and a shifter share a destiny that neither of them wants, or consented to? Well, in this story, we get to follow Lyra and Cade as they navigate their shared fate. Besides being fated mates, they are both responsible for saving the town of Mistwhisper Falls (fantastic name). Well... Lyra is supposed to save Mistwhisper, and Cade is supposed to support and protect Lyra. Neither of them is particularly happy about their duties, but between fate and their shared attraction, they soon discover that there is no escaping what destiny has chosen for them.

This is a magically entertaining story, full of passion, danger, mystery, and, of course, a couple meant to be together that fight their bond until they can't anymore. This is a magnificent start to a new series, and I look forward to seeing what happens next.

Well done to the author!

Lyra inherits her estranged grandmother's inn. As soon as she walks into her future home, everything changes for her. She is faced with some life-altering changes that she is not ready for.
I enjoyed the plot of this book; it was very entertaining. I enjoyed the characters. There are a few things that bothered me. Every time Lyra interacted with someone in regards to the seal or founders, she seemed like all she did was ask, "Well, what does that mean?" and it was multiple times in conversations. The first time Lyra and Cade are together, they kept saying; Are you sure?, I don't think we should be doing this, or this isn't right, which gets a little annoying. The other thing that bothered me is that after they get together, and Cade says it was a mistake and ignores her for days, Lyra just accepts him back with no apology or repercussions. Overall, it was ok read.

Hex You Very Much - Milly Taiden pub 7/13/25 5 stars review due 7/20/25
Cade & Lyra

She hadn't heard from her grandmother in years. Suddenly, she inherited an old hotel in a small town she'd never heard of. Little did she know what else she inherited.

A town filled with people, PNR individuals, and magic. There is a history to be discovered. Is she the founder? What kind of relationship does she have with Cade? He's an alpha discovering a connection with Lyra--a strong connection. Will his responsibility to the town become hers? Will they find their future together?

Lots of heat, good characters, and a unique story with those characters.

The beginning of a series as good as the author always provides.

Good

Cade and Lyra

Inheriting an inn in a magic town, Lyra didn’t realise it came with the added responsibility of keeping something sealed away, or that her chaos magic might end up with her bonded to the local alpha…

First in a series, this book introduces us to Mistwhisper Falls, and the intriguing people that live there, as well as the unfortunate magical crisis they are facing.
It’s a short and quick read, with a couple of steamy scenes, and sets up an ongoing magical plot, that reaches into the other books in the series.
It is an entertaining and enjoyable read, and PNR lovers looking for something quick to read, may well enjoy this book (and series).
Quick shout out to the cover artist, because it’s a truly beautiful cover that definitely captured my attention!

This story is about a chaos witch and a wolf shifter who have a destiny beyond being fated mates. Their bloodlines have them connected much more deeply. Lyra has been left an inn by her grandmother. She travels to Mistwhisper Falls to claim her inheritance and try to bring it back to is former glory. But the Inn has a secret hidden in the basement. A secret that affects not only Lyra, but the entire town. Can Cade help her accept her destiny? Can he accept his?

The story doesn't end here. Can't wait to see what happens next. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

A witch, fae and wolf shifter worked together to seal something evil beneath the magical town of Mistwhisper Falls. Ancient founder magic, however, was never meant to last forever. Not without a new generation to keep the locks on the cell strong and complete.

And so enter the unsuspecting trio… thrust into a magical destiny only some of them were aware of and none of them fully understand.

I really enjoyed this first book in the newest series from the creative mind of Milly Taiden. The world building and characters definitely drew me in and I can’t wait for the next installment of this story

Lyra is a chaos witch who has inherited her grandmother's Inn in Mistwhisper Falls a supernatural town made JP a different species coexisting together, but when Lyra is cleaning she finds a seal in the basement that will change her whole life.
Cade is a alpha wolf shifter who feels something strange in the Forest and he follows the unusual disturbance back to the Inn that Vera owned when he finds his wag to the basement he meets Lyre his mate and new owner.
What happens from then on is very entertaining, suspense, mysterious tale of bloodlines that could become a triad if the town council has it's way. Book 1of2.
I read a review copy without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.

Hex You Very Much by Milly Taiden is a fun and quick read. It’s the first book out of three in the Mistwhiper Falls series. Cade and Lyra are the featured characters in this story. She is a witch that has come back to renovate the inn she inherited from her grandmother. Cade is the alpha wolf that wants to claim his mate.
I really enjoyed the book. It was a quick and light hearted read with intensity built right in. I liked the characters. I loved the slow burn between Cade and Lyra. I’m excited to read the next book in the series.

I liked the book but it left me hanging at the ending. It’s a good romance story. Lyra is a witch who inherits her grandmother’s inn and decides to renovate it. Cade is Alpha of the local pack and her mate. They learn that they have to work together to save the town. A hidden rune under the inn is part a blood line pack between her grandmother, a wolfe shifter and a fae. Now Lyra is being watched by the town council. Will Lyra & Cade seal their mate bond and protect the rune and town? You’ll need to read the book to find out. I received this free ARC copy for my review.

Cliffhanger—

The world building was so good and fascinating, but the plot was weak and draws out mundane details instead of focusing on what is important. The writing was extremely repetitive, the same phrases and situations being copy and pasted throughout the book. There’s no real resolution. There’s too much emphasis on things that aren’t fully relevant or that are inconsistent. Nothing is really solved, and the book ends by telling us the sequel will be more complicated.

Lyra came to Miswhisper Falls, after inheriting her grandmother's house. She hadn't had contact with her in years but would soon find out why, along with the town's secrets....Chaos seems to surround her (she's a chaos witch) but something in Cade calms her. Fabulous 1st story in a new paranormal romance series by Milly Taiden

Chaos anyone

When Lyra inherit her grandmother’s INN in Mistwhisper Falls she is thrust into a new way of living. Finding out that her magic is chaotic and she accidentally open a seal that her ancestors placed as protection in her inn’s cellar does not make for a good day. The story moves fast and even though her her part is concluded, however it is an ongoing series.

It’s fitting that this book is about chaos witch, because it is chaotic. The story had so much potential, but it fell so short. The storyline was rushed, and things didn’t make sense. I think she got some things out of order, maybe? And maybe she forgot that she wrote certain things as the story went on? I don’t know. But it was rough.

Lyra and cade

A interesting read focused on Lyra was worried it was a HR but don't think so but did look like it was going there, really more about the power of three.
I found details a little messy given, even Lyra was confused, plus the oh I hate you then sex was a little REALLY at least wait more then days, no real friendship build. The third person was more helpful.

DNF at 24%. This author can be hit or miss with me. I like the unique premise of the book, but I no longer have patience or tolerance for FMCs who dismiss information and then freak out about the consequences of that and of their own actions.

exciting new series

I really liked this book. I liked that she wasn’t all prepared and sure, that she was normal in needing to learn and grow. I enjoyed the tension and how they finally got together.
I look forward to seeing how they resolve the really big bad problem.

Anytime the H tells h not to do something dangerous for everyone involved, she does it. Not once or twice, but 4 times. If that's not juvenile, I don't know what is? Sexing up characters that don't develop doesn't result in a good plot or an enjoyable story.
