Society now knows of the vampires that roam the world. The creatures of the night no longer hide from humans. Instead, they are attacking on the streets, in plain view; either killing them or turning them into one of their own. Six months have passed since Chloe and the other Hunters took down the vampire business tower, The Talon Building. Dahlia, a beautiful yet wicked vampire, warned Chloe that by destroying their business she had started the vampire apocalypse, and that each and every vampire turned would be on Chloe’s conscience … and she wasn’t kidding. The vampire apocalypse was upon them. The group dynamic has changed in the six months that have passed. Chloe has hardened, becoming a heartless vampire killer. The young Hunters are forced into a new home, with the barrier still up around Arcadia Falls and Chloe unable to cross it. Worst of all, the community of Arcadia Falls has shunned Chloe, knowing that she was the cause of the first vampire outbreak in history to go public, allowing every single human being on earth to learn about vampires. The group may be young, but they are powerful and smart. However, are they powerful and smart enough to save the world from being taken over by the one thing they were made to kill?
Jennifer Malone Wright is best known for her best selling novella series, The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter. Other works include the follow up to The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter series called The Arcadia Falls Chronicles, The Graveyard Guardians series and her full length vampire novel called Savior (A Higher Collective Novel).
She resides in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho with her husband and five children where she practices preparing for the zombie apocalypse. Just kidding!
But seriously, between the craziness of taking care of her children, Jennifer has little time left for herself. The time she does have left, usually leading far into the night, is spent working on her beloved fiction or chatting with her equally crazy friends.
This series never lets me down! I have been #TeamChloe since the very beginning. Way back when The Vampire Hunter's Daughter began I was instantly hooked. After waging a full on war in the last book, Taking Talon, our beloved vampire hunters now face off against the rapidly repopulating vamps who are determined to win this battle no matter the costs. Chloe has adopted Drew's obsession of "no time for play", it's strictly training, killing vampires, repeat without time for anything else. Well, until Drew whisks her away that is. Buckle up for the ride as we are introduced to an interesting new character who transports us back in time to learn truths that could save them or damn them. Not that I did not expect this...BUT while I am truly looking forward to more of Chloe & Drew as well as learning more about our newest ally ... I AM LITERALLY DYING OVER THIS CLIFFHANGER!!!! Jennifer Malone Wright ... I hereby dub thee ... The Cliffhanger Queen! That. Is. All.
OMG what can I say about this series that has become one of my absolute favorites.......
First off, I am loving the growth of Chloe's character! She has changed in the last six months since taking down the Talon Building and her boyfriend Drew and the rest of her family are worried. Worried she's hardened to much, to quickly but Jennifer Wright showed me that Chloe has built a wall and is very much feeling all kinds of emotions. She chooses not to show them. She wants to be strong and take charge of ending what has begun. I think she will open up eventually and let everyone know that her motivation is Love. Pure and simple. For humanity. For her family. I think it's what's keeping her strong, not the endless training or her hate for these monsters.
The new discovery in this installment leaves the story open to so many possibilities. Mrs. Wright is keeping me on the edge of my seat through this series. I got to the end and was left with my mouth gaping. It's getting so exciting!!!! I think I'll be stalking her endlessly for the next one. Lol.
I highly recommend this story. As well as the two before this Love and War (#1) and Taking Talon (#2)
If you haven't caught up with Arcadia Falls, The Vampire Hunter's Daughter first story is always free wherever ebooks are sold.
Well, Ms. Malone has done it again. She has built up the suspense just enough to leave us hanging and craving for the next book.
I am still in love with these amazing characters in the story. I was enchanted by the author's writing style, which made it hard to put down. I was in love with the action, suspense, and excitement throughout this phenomenally written and addicting short story. I must admit that even though I expected the author would leave me hanging, I was not prepared for where she left us hanging. This is an amazing group of short stories that will entice you to want to read more. I highly recommend reading this set of stories and becoming true blue fans of this author's style of writing. It sure is a memorable adventure and if you haven't read them yet, then you are missing out!
First this is a CLIFFHANGER!!!!! It's going to drive me nuts, but it's well worth it. Hunter who is half vampire, and has a great boyfriend (could be my new book boyfriend). With not reading the first to books and jumping into this one, I still connected with the charters, like I knew them, and didn't feel like I was missing too much of the story. It leaves you right when I good fight is going to happen, but me being a bookie this just makes me want more. I say it's annoying because it is but truly any true bookie craves cliffhangers. If you are looking for a great book with some action, some love, and some story line this is a great book for all of that.
I received this review copy for my honest review. This story just keeps getting better. Chloe is in some kind of depression and has a hard time adjusting to the destruction she has caused. Drew is always there to pick her up. Team Drew!!! If you have been following Chloe's story then this is a must read!!!!!
If you enjoy seeing characters name misspelled and rereading sentences to figure out what it is supposed to say this book is for you.
The book has great potential but chopping the story into sellable mini books really cut away from the building storyline. Misspelling of a character's name repeatedly is really disappointing.
Amazing!!! Jennifer has done a great job! The story really sucks you in from the first chapter. Everything is so intruguing!! New information is released and it is CRAZY!!! Cannot wait for the next one! <3 Keep it up Jennifer ;)
I love this series. It just keeps getting better and better. I am ready for more now. I love the interaction between Chloe and Drew. This story keeps adding more twists as it grows.
Jennifer Malone Wright has done it again. This book is great. I love how this book was written and how she gives back stories. It takes off where the last one ended.
The fight against the vampires sure takes and interesting twist in this book. Chloe is still finding her way and now the Council is not helping them out. Gavin and Drew are tolerating each other but that isn't making it easy for Chloe. Can't wait to see what happens in New Orleans.
As usual, things never just goes as planned and the world suddenly becomes something none ever imagined. The MC seems to exhibit more immaturity than what I would expect making her decisions too emotionally. Let’s see how this plays out. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
This book was so much better than the first two books but I don't like how it finished so abruptly. It is almost like hanging up on on someone in the middle of a phone conversation. It leaves the person on the other line frustrated or annoyed or irritated because the conversation was left incomplete.
As always jennifer delievers a great story I have been hooked on these books but decided to hold of reading last few so I can read other books but decided to come back and read them and I hope this serise never ends ...... ok I understand it ends at some point but I can dream it dont. Character's draw you in not only are they teenagers with everyday problems of love growing up friendship and family their vampire hunters but added twist two of them are brother and sister and half vampires and the other two are step brothers with a past and dislike each other.
This was completely different from what I'm used to from this series. It's almost like the plot took a complete 360. It almost felt like a spin-off series. That being said, I really enjoyed it. This book had so much more action than the rest of the recent books in this series. That ending... holy crap. I need the fourth book in my hands immediately.
