The Whitley Brothers #3

Un incontro fortunato (I fratelli Whitley)

Rate this book

All’improvviso, inizio a inventare scuse per invitarla a casa.

I’ve read several series by this author. While I’ve enjoyed most of her books I’ve read, I can’t say she’s ever going to be one of my favorite contemporary romance authors. Her books are fun but I don't find them especially memorable. Like many popular authors she has a set formula for her series. But sometimes her series seem so similar it’s as if it’s the same story where only the names have been changed. If you need proof just compare the similarities in her two more recent series, The Maxwell Brothers and this one, The Whitley Brothers. They are so much alike I sometimes am confused about which series I’m reading. Beyond the repetitiveness in her series I sometimes struggle with her writer’s voice. It sometimes reminds me of the prose in my earliest primer reader books Fun with Dick and Jane. Honestly when I finished this book and began reading another by a different author the difference was immediately apparent to me. I felt more drawn to the characters, more involved with the story from the start. Still, I continue to read and enjoy Ms., Hagen’s books which I suppose you could call a perfect light beach read. They have warm family feels, romance, steamy sex, (of which there is plenty in this story) light hearted moments, and are usually low in angst. And of course they all have this genre’s mandatory happy endings.
I had some problems getting into this story from the start. First off, our male protagonist Spencer Whitley was far too impressed with both himself and his family name for my taste. Fortunately, Spencer’s better qualities like his devotion to Ben his infant son, and his family and in no small part because he wasn’t so entrenched to his belief that he had no room in his life for romantic entanglements that he needed a cataclysmic event to realize he’d fallen in love with Penny, he eventually won me over. While I understand that this book’s female protagonist Penny is trying to rebuild her nest egg after going through a costly divorce by being frugal, it felt a little over the top to me. I mean we’re told she has a good job working for a major corporation as a graphic designer and also taking side jobs on her own. Frugal is one thing but her character acts like she doesn’t have two nickels to rub together. I mean she may not have her friend Taylor’s or Whitley money but she acts like she’s living at the poverty level while working a minimum wage job. I was a little confused when Penny thinks to herself, she and Spencer have been in a fling for the past two weeks and haven’t had sex yet, but they soon will. I mean I’ve never had one, but isn’t a fling by definition about two people being involved in what is little more than a short-term sexual relationship? So how can they be in a fling if they’re not having sex? I agree with Spencer that Penny is pretty much adorable from the start. Unfortunately part of her attractiveness stems from her vulnerability and failure to realize how beautiful inside and out she is after being in a long time marriage with Wally her college sweetheart who chipped away at her self-esteem. Penny’s lack of materialism, her care in putting others needs ahead of her own, her affection for his infant son Ben and of course her natural beauty quickly convince Spencer to find room in his life to spend sometime with his new if temporary next door neighbor. He intends it to be a brief fling because he doesn’t have time to invest in a real relationship and she’s just coming off a messy divorce, but quickly realizes he has real feelings for Penny that make what’s going on between them more than a fling. Unfortunately, because he told Penny they’d have a fling, when she realizes she has deep feelings for Spencer and Ben she continues to second guess and chastise herself for her feelings because Spencer is slow to share his new found feelings with her. Also, she feels the extremely handsome, successful and wealthy Spencer Whitely is way out of her league and can’t believe he’d truly be interested in her a practically broke woman, raised by a struggling single mom for anything more than a fling. I also feel like Hagen overplayed her hand a little in her creation of the Naomi character, Ben’s biological mother. She was so self-involved, so narcissistic and materialistic she hardly seemed real. It was impossible to believe Spencer could have ever been in any sort of romantic relationship with her beyond a one-night drunken hook-up.
I know it was intended to be a point of humor in the story but Spencer’s unattached siblings constant fear that with him falling for Penny, their grandmother would only be encouraged by her continued matchmaking success to threaten their bachelorhood and ramp up her campaign to get them all into romantic relationships. Which to this guy just made them appear juvenile.
Anyway, another mostly enjoyable easy read by the N.Y. Times best selling romance author.

The broody brother of the bunch Spencer Whitley’s life is changing, he may be the CEO of a billion dollar company however, after having recently finding out he’s the father of a gorgeous little boy he’s determined to be the best dad he can.

The mother of the child doesn’t want much to do with it, so Spencer’s relying on the support of his family, helping him to raise his son whilst juggling a business. The bachelor pad had to go, which saw Spencer move into a new house where he meets his ‘temporary’ neighbour Penny, she’s housesitting for her friend, well it’s more like pet sitting. Recently divorced Penny is trying to decide what’s next for her, she’s not sure what she wants to do in life, out walking the dog she meets Jeannie, Spencer’s Grandmother who thinks of herself as the family matchmaker. Jeannie decides that Spencer and Penny would be perfect for one another, and with a little meddling and encouragement they soon realise that they do in-fact enjoy being in each other's company, but will outside influences get in their way? Or will they follow their hearts?

There’s one way to find out, read the book. A sweet single dad romance I highly recommend.

Please do a rewrite

The concept of this book is great. I also like the overall idea of the series following all the brothers...but the writing is so cheesey and corny in almost the entire book. Also, there are huge gaps in the story....like one minute they are stuck in the elevator and suddenly they are out. Also, they go from being not sure about being in a relationship to over the moon for each other in 2 chapters. Like I said, the concept is good, but this needs a compete rewrite to help the story flow, fill in the gaps, and get rid of the cheesey and corniness.

The boom for me had a weak storyline and kept dozing off from reading such that it was a hard finish. It may be for other readers but definitely not my kind of pallet.

I love these kinds of romances! We have Penny newly divorced, and Spencer with a small baby. Of course, his grandmother meddles around so that they have to meet. I loved that Penny was so taken with those boys that she could not do anything but fall in love with them.

Layla Hagen has done it again! I absolutely LOVED Falling for the CEO! I loved every moment on every page of Falling for the CEO, the third book in her The Whitley Brothers series, it was impossible to put down. Layla Hagen definitely did not disappoint her readers with Falling for the CEO and has once again delivered an incredible story filled with everything that I love in sizzling romance stories. I love how Layla Hagen continues to write the love stories that I love to read. Who does not love hot sexy men, who make you swoon, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another, and wonderful characters? I love how Layla Hagen always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy men. One of my favorite parts of her books is how she incorporates the picture on the cover of the book into the love story. I am not sure how she does it, but Layla Hagen has once again given her readers another amazing book. She has once again proven that she is an amazing storyteller and continues to be one of my favorite authors. I really enjoy how she writes her stories in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. My favorite moments in Falling for the CEO are the lighter moments where I found myself smiling and laughing aloud. I also love the parts that pull at my heartstrings and cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments Falling for the CEO is filled with such moments, and with so much more. Falling for the CEO is filled with all those elements that I have come to love and expect in a Layla Hagen love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Falling for the CEO is the love story of Spencer Whitley, CEO of Whitley Publishing and single father of Ben, and recently divorced, Penny, a website developer at a big tech company who also takes on freelance projects. Penny is house sitting for her friend, Taylor to take care of her pets while Taylor is away for a couple of months. Taylor lives in the house next door to the home that Spencer and Ben recently moved into. Penny and Spencer meet when Penny falls when Becky pulls her during their walk. Spencer rushes out to help Penny with her injuries. Things heat up quickly between Penny and Spencer as they spend time together as neighbors and Penny helping take care of Ben. I love Penny and Spencer’s love story, and how a plot twist changes things for Spencer and Penny’s relationship, and how advice from his brothers helps Spencer realize what he must do if he wants Penny to be part of his life. I love that Spencer and Penny admit their true feelings for one another. I love how Penny stands up for herself when her mother criticizes her choices. Layla Hagen creates such wonderful and memorable characters and has once again done this in Falling for the CEO. I love Penny and Spencer’s story and the descriptions of the Boston setting. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Falling for the CEO, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoy all the interactions among the Whitley brothers, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. My favorite characters are Grandmother and Grandfather, Jeannie, and Abe Whitley. I loved the bittersweet and poignant moments, as well as the unexpected plot twists, that I have come to love and expect in a Layla Hagen love story. Falling for the CEO was a wonderful love story. I love how the epilogue was more than a happily ever after, especially the surprise birthday gift that Penny helps create. My favorite part of the story is Spencer’s proposal to Penny, the location of his proposal and how it did not happen as Spencer had planned. I also love how the epilogue hints at the identity of the next Whitley sibling. I loved catching up with the Whitley siblings and cannot wait to read more books about the other Whitley brothers. Highly recommend this incredible love story.

After waiting for so long, this book finally came out! I was excited to get started and while I was reading it, I couldn’t help but be slightly disappointed. On the surface, I thought this would be something entirely different but what I got was a book about Spencer and Penny. When you see that you think, well obviously it’s about them but what you actually get is a pretty boring story with no drama, issues or complications. I’m used to some sort of conflict happening but this didn’t have one. It was basically conversations and intimate moments between Spencer and Penny. I have to admit, without extra drama the story doesn’t really go anywhere. While I enjoyed reading about how Spencer and Penny catch feelings and grow with each other, I wanted more intensity and questions piling in my head. I wanted to think about things, wonder things. There wasn’t any mystery with this one. It was all just as it was and how Penny and Spencer fall in love, starting from a fling to getting serious pretty fast. One thing is for sure though, when the Whitley Brothers fall in love, they fall fast and hard. Spencer wasn’t any exception. I love the moment he realizes it, there wasn’t any surprise that he wanted to go all the way immediately and start their lives together with Ben, but Penny wanted to get to know him more. I gave this a 4 because while the story itself was boring, I enjoyed the talks Penny and Spencer had as well as all the heated and emotional moments they experience with each other and their intimacy. The family ties, conversations and connection they both felt. I wish it was a little more exciting, but I’ll take more focus on pleasure any day. It makes me wonder how the next book will go and I have a feeling it will be Colton’s turn.

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is book 3 in the series but also easily stands alone. In each book a different brother finds love but Grandma Whitley plays matchmaker for each brother. The Whitley brothers series is about brothers who all share the same father but not all the same mother as their father had two different families. But their grandmother plays a big part in bringing the brothers together.

This is Spencer Whitley's story, and he is a new single dad to his son Ben who is an infant. He loves his son while the mother has handed him over to raise but does visit Ben occasionally. He also has a new house for him and Ben to live in and thats how he ends up meeting his new neighbor's best friend who is house sitting next door.

Penny is a newly divorced single woman who is at a crossroads of her life. Her best friend is out of town and has asked her to house sit and take care of her pets. She meets Spencer's grandmother and falls hard for her. She then tries a bit of matchmaking on Spencer and Penny.

Penny and Spencer are not in the right place for a relationship, but they have a lot in common and are both lonely and find something in each other. What happens when the right person falls into your life at the very worst time? Plus, you have a very fun, matchmaking granny, that's what happens in Falling for the CEO.

This was a very hot and fun romance. Ben is so adorable, and I laughed at Grandmother Whitley's matchmaking efforts. The Whitley brothers all are very hot and sexy and FUN! I cannot wait to see who is next.

4.5⭐

Falling for the CEO is only my second Layla Hagen story and just like the first it was a fabulous read, full of family, heart, heat, likable characters and touches of emotion.

As Spencer Whitley, CEO of the Whitley Publishing House finds himself a single dad. When his ex-girlfriend Naomi returns with a baby boy in toe. Then promptly leaves him behind.

But Spencer is more than happy to step up and care for his son and he does so beautifully.

And of course he has the help of his brothers and his adorable grandmother Jeannie. Who is still set on matchmaking her grandsons, and she gets the chance with Spencer. When he moves into his new house and his grandmother meets his new albeit temporary neighbour Penny.

Yet neither Spencer or Penny are in the right headspace for romance. But the attraction is undeniable and as the pair spend more and more time together they agree the perfect way forward is to have a fling.

And I adored how the romance developed. How Spencer would do these little things for Penny, things that meant everything to her. But were so normal and basic, and I loved how Penny embraced Spencers son Ben and how they quickly realised that a fling was never going to be enough.

And with such well rounded individual characters, plenty of heat and sweetness. This was a delightfully delicious romance. That kept me reading long into the night. And it's a story I would recommend to all especially if you're a sucker for the single dad trope.

My thanks to Layla Hagen and Wildfire Marketing for the opportunity to read an early copy of Falling for the CEO. 😊

Falling For The CEO
Whitley family
Layla Hagen
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not many authors can pull me from a book funk, but without a doubt, Layla Hagen has the knack for hot sexy men, the women who tame them and the fantastic writing style to keep you hooked! Hot single dad, Spencer is my new favourite book boyfriend, not only does he make parenting a newborn sexy, while running an publishing empire he has an open Insta love thing about him.

When Penny discovers her house sitting neighbour is God’s gift to women, her ovaries take another bash when the holy hotness is also a single dad to a 9 week old baby boy, named Ben. A simple trip and fall changes the messed up life of Penny. See she’s coming off a horrible marriage where she was put down and treated like crap, so when Spencer sets his sights on her (with some humorous medaling from his grandmother), life as Penny knows it is changes so much for the better!

I really loved Spencer and Penny’s journey, with little drama and many laughs, oh and sexy sexy times, it was such a fun easy read that made being sick a little more bearable! I’m so in love with The Whitley men, Jeannie the medaling with love grandmother and baby Ben. With little tucker might not have said a word but his tiny character took a large part of my heart. I see a bright future for this series… I never thought I’d find a series I loved as much as the Bennett’s, but the Whitley’s are moving in!

Minor spoilers you will still enjoy the book even if there are little clues in this review.

Grandma Whitley has to be my favorite character that Ms. Hagen has written to date. She is such a spitfire and her family adores her. But she’s making the boys nervous because her new hobby is matchmaking and she has a 100% success rate.

Spencer Whitley runs a successful publishing company. He is a busy man. Then his rotten ex dumps his infant son on him. He is determined to be a great Dad no matter how many baby and parenting books he needs to read. This character made me constantly sigh with all the feelings he invoked. He is a gorgeous, sexy alpha male with a soft, protective side and is dedicated to his son.

Penny is great too. She has been thru some hard times but she is still so kind, gentle and loving. She has moved into her friend’s home, next door to Spencer, to babysit the fur babies while her friend is overseas.

She has seen Spencer and found him attractive but she is not ready for a serious relationship. Of course, Grandma Whitley appears and starts meddling. It’s awesome!!! Did I mention I love Grandma Whitley!!

Once Penny and Spencer meet its magic. They are wonderful together. The characters in this series are fabulous. They are all so individual. Their personalities jump off the page. I love the way Ms. Hagen continues the story but keeps you in touch with the whole family. Just a wonderful writer. Fabulous series.

* Romance/Steam - 1/5
* Drama/Conflict/Angst - 1/5

I found Penny very annoying from the start. She tries to save money to build up some savings but apparently she can only afford 2 apples instead of 3, and buys 1 scone to herself because ... yeah. There is being frugal and cheap. If she was starving and needed the money so bad, why she does not started to sell her furniture sooner from her flat (that she owns, so she does not even need to pay rent, mortgage and she also works...) But she was not hesitating to buy lingerie for herself, so that is that.
There was not much chemistry between the characters so I did not enjoy reading about their building relationship. One point I fell asleep while reading smut.
At least Gran was not intruding in this book as much.

I don't know why Authors feel the need to make one character being the worst (usually bringing an ex to the mix with DRAMA) to make the main characters look better. Yikes. Also sometimes less is more. It would be more believable if Ben's mother was out of the picture from the start. I don't understand why she even kept the baby. Her lifestyle does not really align with being a mother.

This was my least favorite from the series. It was boring and bland.
And I hate the covers ...

Okay, Spencer Whitley… I see you and your alpha deliciousness. “Falling for the CEO” is a steamy, sweet and heartfelt single dad romance that is a great addition to this series.

Spencer Whitley is the CEO of the Whitley publishing house and also now a single dad to an infant son, Ben. Settling in his new house, his matchmaking grandmother meets his new neighbor, Penny. Penny is house sitting for her friend after she needed a change after going through a divorce. Neither is looking for a relationship so a fling is what they agree on. But as they spend time together, both realize his grandmother was right and they are the perfect match.

Penny and Spencer were such a fun and sweet couple to read and get to know. Penny is just so genuine and I connected with her right away. Going through a divorce is tough and trying to figure out what you want to do next with your life. She’s so sweet with Ben and you could tell that they were just forming such a special bond. Spencer is a bit of a grump but the biggest softie when it comes to his son. He would do anything for him without hesitation. Penny and Spencer started out slow as friends but I could just feel the attraction they had for each other and couldn’t wait for it to spark into more. Spencer is an absolute alpha in the bedroom and that was so delicious. This was a fun and steamy read and I can’t wait for the next one.

Yet again, Layla Hagen has delivered another fantastic story from the Whitley Brothers series. Again, this book is packed with a sexual tension that happens almost instantly, a family dynamic that is brilliant, cute, and one everyone would love. And banter that makes you, at times, cry laughing.

Spencer and Penny are a great match, and with Grandma Whiltleys interference, this starts pretty quickly. Now, I love the growth that both characters experienced through this story. I found myself sad and happy quite quickly giving me emotional whiplash, but it made it a great read. I absolutely a single father romance, but this book was so much more than that.

I really can not recommend this book enough. It is a great part of this family series, one that is building into one of my favourites.

Single dad… Yes please 😊

Spencer Whitley is the CEO of Whitley Publishing House and now all of a sudden he finds himself a single dad, and he is loving every minute of being a dad. And that is what his life is all about now. His job and raising his son, with the help of his matchmaking grandma and his brothers he has no time for anything else. Until he meets his new neighbor… Penny

Penny just got divorced and now to get her life back on track she is house sitting her friends place, looking after her animals. The last thing she wants is a relationship. And then she meets the hot single dad, Spencer Whitley. But it's wrong to get involved with someone new after just getting divorced, right… So how about a fling???

These two were so cute together. I loved Spencer, he didn’t even blink an eye when his ex-just left their newborn son with him. He took to fatherhood instantly. He was such a good guy and even though he didn’t want a relationship, he was so good at it, doing sweet things for Penny all the time. Penny was just too adorable with little Ben and just fit into their lives so easily. Loved the characters and grandma was just too cute playing matchmaker for these two. Loved the story and can't wait to read more of these brothers finding their happily ever after 😊

3.75 stars for Penny and Spencer. These books are an easy read, sexy rom-com. This book scores well due to the behaviour of Spencer following a new addition to his life.

Whitley brothers (x 5) seem to own/run half of Boston - it’s a family conglomerate. Grandfather and Grandmother are the solid matriarchs, their mother passed away from cancer and the Whitley embarrassment was their father; he had a secret family with another three sons. They have loyalty to the family and the grandparents, though the relationship is a work in progress between the 5 and 3 brothers to see past the hurt and pain caused by their father. Eight grandsons for Grandmother to match make for …

The five brothers are all single, successful business owners who prioritise their work, they don’t have time for a relationship and have no intention of getting married … lol

i am scoring this book higher than book two because a dedicated parent will always be sexy. However it is frustrating how quick these men go from lady-killer to ‘you belong to me’.

I like that Penny stands her ground dealing with undesirable side characters, however the twat of an ex-husband got to say too much after unfortunately being in the same vicinity..

I’m happy that Spencer finds someone special and is devoted to his woman - and that Penny gets plenty of orgasms and spoiling by her man.

Welcome to the world of Spencer Whitley, broody, alpha CEO who has just found out he is father to a two month old baby boy named Ben. All I’m saying is this is a book you will want to read and Spencer and Penny are a couple you want to get to know !!!!!
Spencer is a Whitley and he knows what he needs to do and he doesn’t hesitate in stepping up and becoming the father little Ben deserves and needs, the last thing on his mind is a relationship with the crazy woman house sitting next door……
Penny is getting her life together after going through a tough divorce and when her friend asks her to house and pet sit she jumps at the chance. When Spencer’s grandmother meets Penny she decides to do some meddling and hopefully some matchmaking but Spencer is having none of it until the neighbors dog Becky drags Penny to the ground and from that moment he dresses her wounds all bets are off.
So what does the future hold for Spencer and Penny and will she ignore Ben’s biological mothers comments. One click to find out…….
I loved everything about this book, I swooned, I sighed, I smiled and at times I held my breath. I fell hard and fast for Spencer, I adored Penny and I found myself cheering this couple on throughout this entertaining read. A great read that ticked all my boxes

Broody, dominating, single dad sexy CEO?! UHM YAS PLEASE. GRABBY HANDS! Spencer Whitley is just loads of alpha yummy, and Falling for the CEO is my favorite in this series so far! Brimming with Layla Hagen’s characteristic sweetness and charm and full of single dad trope deliciousness, this feel-good and heart-hitting love story was a delightful escape and a great visit with the whole gang.

Penny is a relatable and a lovable heroine. She’s got those girl next door vibes (since she’s literally the housesitter next door), but she’s going through a rough divorce. So who better to rebound with than the sexy single dad next door, yummy CEO Spencer Whitley. Of course thanks to a delightfully meddlesome grandma (the real MVP of this series), these two find their way to a more substantial relationship- and it’s so adorable.

As always, Layla keeps the romance low angst and light. Their relationship is sweet and charming, the connection easy, and even broody, grumpy Spencer turns out to be a big ole cinnamon role charmer, especially when it comes to being a dad. The friendship (with benefits) to more vibes really worked with them, and the sweet is matched by the sexy in the sheets. Another fun and easy read from the lovable Layla Hagen.

Spencer Whitley is Cade’s twin brother; he is the quiet broody brother and CEO of Whitley publishing. At the end of Cade’s book Spencer discovers that he has a son with an ex who does not want to raise the baby. From this point on we see Spencer’s determination to be the best father to his son Ben, he buys a house to give Ben an environment more beneficial for him to grow up in.
We meet Penny who is house sitting at her best friend’s house and pets while her friend is away for work, she meets Jeannie Spencer’s grandmother while walking the dog.
Jeannine gets to work!
Penny is using the time to get back on her feet after her divorce. She meets Spencer at the supermarket. While Spencer is not looking to start a relationship since his focus is raising Ben, they can’t help being attracted to each other and agree to a fling, but things really heat up between them and the sparks turn into fire while stuck in an elevator.
Penny is a loving person who immediately treats Ben like he is her world, winning not only Jeannie but Spencer as well.
I received this book in return for an honest review and I must say I love this author’s book, they are witty, easy to read, steamy and with the right amount of drama.

Spencer Whitley is quiet and broody brother. He's also deliciously alpha. He recently found out he had a son and is dedicating all his energy into his company and being a good dad. The baby mama doesn't want much to do with their son so Spencer relies a lot on his family for help raising his son. With a new baby also comes a change in scenery, because his bachelor pad wasn't suitable for an infant. The new house also comes with a neighbor (temporary helping her friend pet sit). This is where we meet Penny! Penny is sweet, independent, and loving. She is healing from a messy divorce and is trying to decide what she wants to do next in life. As luck would have it, Spencer's grandma is the family match maker and has decided Penny and Spencer would be the perfect match! With a little meddling and encouraging from Grandmother Jeannie, Penny and Spencer realize they do enjoy each other's company. But what happens when other outside influences get in the way? Will Penny and Spencer follow their hearts or their heads? I loved this story and their HEA. Spencer is just the right mix of dominant and protective. I highly recommend this story.

This book is Spencer’s book. Spencer had a baby with his girlfriend who was a photographer and didn’t have any interest in being a parent. She blows in every now and again but has no responsibility. Spencer loves his son and is trying his best to not repeat the sins of his parents. Penny is fresh off a bad marriage and has sworn off men or so she thought. The chemistry is instant when they meet but they both are fighting. Spencer’s grandmother meets Penny and immediately has visions of them together. They fight their connection until they agree to be “friends”. Penny falls for the baby and he settles for her like he knows she is home. In true author fashion there is never a HEA without some drama. Penny is afraid to get hurt again and Spencer doesn’t want to admit his feelings so he pushes her away hurting her. As Spencer comes to terms with his feelings and desires will it be too late? This book was a great ride of discovery and I cannot wait for the next one. The only downside is I think it would have been better if Spencer's Ex was never around she wasn't needed for the storyline. Grandma is my favorite though!

First baby of the Whitley men has made an appearance! Sweet Ben. A baby that Spencer knew nothing about until he was one month old and dropped with him by the baby’s mother, Naomi. Although Spencer has been described in the past books like another alpha Whitley & forever bachelor, he really jumped all in with an open heart to the idea of being a father. And he is so committed and involved in raising this little baby that he can’t see himself having a relationship anytime soon. But that’s not going to change Grandmother’s mind when she is set to do some meddling. And she has set her eyes on Spencer’s “neighbour”, freshly divorced Penny. Penny is house sitting for the summer for her friend Taylor, hoping the change of scenery will help her clear her mind after she just got divorced. Just like Spencer she is not interested in a relationship. But apparently what starts like a summer fling can definitely develop into more when it’s the right people. Might not have been the right timing, but their chemistry didn’t care about it! Their relationship is fun, easy & comfortable, no extra drama and steamy when needed.

Falling for the Ceo
The Whitley Brothers, Book 3
By: Layla Hagen
Narrated by: Sebastian York, Maxine Mitchell

Oh, be still my heart. This is a feel good, warm heart romance that had me falling from the very start! Penny is taking care of her friend's animals. Little did she know what she was in for! Spencer recently found out he had a son and as a single dad, he is just adjusting to his new normal. New to the neighborhood, he hasn't met his neighbors, but his grandmother made sure he met Penny. And the magic begins. Two people, not looking for a relationship. A meddling grandmother who knows best. A baby that easily wins my heart. This is a wonderful addition to this series and one that should not be missed!

Sebastian York and Maxine Mitchell are our storytellers, and boy do they tell this story. I don't even have to say how good they are. Every time they bring out the best in the characters. York has that warmth in his voice and is authentic with his emotions as Spencer. Mitchell finds he essence of Penny, a little self confident in the beginning but grows through the story knowing her worth. I loved these two and the listen!

Absolutely a delightful read! I loved Spencer and Penny's story. Spencer has just found out he's the father of a two month old boy named Ben. His life has been turned upside down with the news. Being a Whitley, he rises to the occasion. Ben is his number one priority. He doesn't have time for dating or women in his life. Penny is newly divorced, and it has shaken her to her core. Her friend arranges for her to house and pet sit while she goes on a trip. Spencer's grandmother meets Penny first and gets all the dets. Spencer wants nothing to do with his new neighbor until the dog "Becky" drags Penny to the ground, causing scratches and scrapes. Spencer has the first aid kit in hand before you know it. Penny is quite taken with Spencer and Ben. Naomi, who is Ben's biological mother, stops by when it's convenient for her. She meets Penny, only to tell her it won't last, because she's not Spencer's type. Will they weather the storm? Grab the book and find out. You won't be disappointed! Great read!

Well hello Spencer Whitley! Who knew the broody CEO was such an Alpha behind closed doors. I mean he is the CEO of a successful business but hot damn the way he talked to Penny when they were intimate, not gonna lie it was a huge turn on (my husband sends his thanks).

Penny is trying to turn a new page in her life after she's finally free of her cheating ex. She's not looking for a new relationship, but when she and Spencer meet sparks fly and it's impossible to stay away. They start off thinking they would have a fling, but the more time they spend in and out of the bedroom, they realize that what they have is so much more. But when the opportunity of a new job for Penny comes knocking, they both need to decide what is the best course of action, for their relationship to survive. With the help of the Whitley clan they manage to resolve all of their fears and get the HEA in each other's arms.

Penny and Spencer aren’t looking for love when they end up as temporary neighbors. For Spencer, he is a single dad with a new infant trying to navigate being a parent while also running a company. Being the CEO does allow him to be flexible with his schedule as he works to focus as much time and attention on his son, Ben. Penny is recovering from a sad marriage now that her divorce is final. Her ex-husband definitely damaged her confidence and self-esteem which she is now working on rebuilding. Meeting her sexy neighbor comes at the detriment of an over excited dog and a fall on the sidewalk which provides a perfect opportunity for Miles to help her. Penny is impressed with Miles and his love and devotion for his son which makes it hard to resist him. Of course, for Miles, his grandmother gets involved and works to make sure these two end up on a few dates. Always a fun, sexy adventure with the Whitley family as another finds love. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

I’m kind of a sucker for single dad romances…. So when Spencer ends up as a single father and also the CEO of the publishing house.. you just know it’s going to be good. Add in Spencer’s matchmaking grandmother.. and what a read!

When his neighbor Penny, who’s recently divorced and looking for a change. She’s house sitting for Spencer’s neighbor. She’s such a sweetheart.. and maybe she can win over grumpy Spencer.. who’s NOT grumpy with his son Ben. He is a wonderful father.

When Penny takes a tumble in front of Spencer’s house, he helps her, and is intrigued by her. He keeps finding reasons to invite her in. A slow burn.. two people who just fit.. and his Grandmother thinks they fit. So.. we KNOW what that means.

This is a family that just makes you want to be a part of it. We’ve known them from the first book. They are a wonderful family. It’s just so fun to read these. I love the slow burn with these two people. It’s a wonderful book and I recommend it to everyone!!
