What a twisted crazy super dark smutty unexpected story !!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 “I’m not the creator of her defense mechanism, I’m only the creator of her increasing insanity” 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This book took me by surprise, I wanted to rated higher but for the first time ever I am going to say this and I don’t say this with happiness because I LOVE a smutty book, but this one was way too much, it was literally spice from first page to the last and I mean that literally. Even though the spicy is delicious, it end up taking to much space in the plots and twists of the story. So this is to me not only a dark romance but almost a psychological erotic triller, maybe it’s even classified like this and I don’t know. Besides the fact that I rated this book less than I would normally due to the extreme amount of smut, the story is actually crazy good. It’s about a serial killer who’s “been caught “ but there are not enough evidences against him to send him to prison so instead they send him to this psych hospital to be examined so they can prove his culpability or innocence. And there we have Abby the psychologist specialized in very serious difficult cases and she’s in charge of finding out his secrets. So up to there it’s great but what bothered me was the IMMEDIATE sexual relationship between them and the way her as a doctor folds so fast that you don’t even get it. Also they are immediately in love even though he only truly admits to her and to himself in the end of the book because he thinks he is undeserving. Still it was in a blink of an eye and I was just like WTF? But then as the book progresses you start to understand why the immediate attraction and love and you learn the manipulation, secrets and lies. You then get it and it doesn’t seemed so out of nowhere because it is not. By the ending I was surprised by the turn of events and I did enjoy the book. If you are in a mood for a very dark psychological experience with very smutty and dirty talk with surprise twists and turns, read this. No don’t read this LISTEN TO THIS AUDIOBOOK because it’s an incredible audio, it’s duet narration with graphic sounds, it honestly makes you feel like you are in a movie.
Okay so this book was insane lmaooo. Definitely one of the darkest I’ve ever read like some of the topics in here were royally fucked up😭. If you’re the type who skips trigger warnings, I’d still suggest giving this one a quick peek. I went with the audiobook(and it’s a duet narration🔥🔥🔥) and the narrators killed this performance it honestly felt like a movie playing in my head. There were even some sound effects thrown in, making it feel almost like a graphic audio, giving it a more dramatic, vibe. This book was pure entertainment. It’s one of those reads where you’re looking around like what the fuck is going on right now?🌝
It’s a psychological thriller meets dark romance, packed with trauma a little murder and a lot of FUCKED UP situations. And this is a first for me, but it might’ve even gone a bit overboard with the spice. (I know, shocker.) If you’re in the mood to get lost in something pitch black, this is the book you need to dive into.
fyi this book is only getting three stars because the audiobook was SO good, I can’t wait with full confidence how I would rate the physical book so do what you want with that information.
🎙️ DUET - James Cassidy, Ehlen Valentine 🌶️ 5/5 Needle play was FIRE ⭐ 4.5/5
This book is a psychological labyrinth where the walls move, the floor disappears and a madman appears out of nowhere to ask if you want to play a game...
The author's manipulation isn’t just happening in the book—it’s happening to you as you read it. Every chapter feels like a dare, like someone is smirking at you from the shadows, whispering, "You think you’re ready for this? You’re not."
Masterful trickery, Faith. Well done. You toyed with my mind like I was a half-dead mouse.
I LOOOOOOVEEEED Deon. Sure, he's a serial killer, but he tortures and kills pedophiles. How can you not love him??
"Are you sure you want to trust me?" Yoooo, this man doesn’t just gaslight—he gasflames
Abigayle is our tragic queen. Okay, wouldn't say tragic because she orgasms more in the book than I have in my whole damn life. And I take care of myself. Religiously... Anyway; She begins as a woman of reason, but that reason shatters the moment she gets tangled with Deon. She tries to keep control. She tries to maintain professional boundaries. But Deon bulldozes through them with one wicked grin.
If there’s one real crime in this book, it’s the lack of insight into Abigayle’s past. What happened to her? Why was she so susceptible to Deon’s darkness? What was the moment that broke her?
We get glimpses—hints of trauma, unresolved emotional wounds—but no full picture. And that’s tragic because
About the Copycat.. Nothing. I have nothing to say. LoL.
"Have you ever squirted in madness, little bunny?" — RENT FREE 😍😍
James Cassidy's voice is SINFULLY DEEP.Could have easily fooled me that the audiobook was multi-cast. The voices, breaths, chuckles...I felt it . In my soul. In my bones. In my ....
And then there was Ehlen. She balanced James’ wicked intensity with vulnerability and fire.
Another book from Faith, a new insane ride for all of us! 🤭
I've had an absolute honor to be one of the very first readers of this book before the official release - thank you so much, Faith! 🤗❤️ This has been an honor to me and an insaneeeee ride 🤯🤩
And after just finishing this book, the plot twist?! The plot twist?! !!!!!!!!!! Oh I'm absolutely shocked.
From the masterful writing (as always, I'll always say that, but this one was just so well written truly ahhhh) The tension, the vibe. The vibe of this one is thrilling, dark, mysterious. Really enjoyed the pov's from side characters as well which was a nice add to this book, spicing it even more up with additional suspicion which is the core base of this whole book. The whole setting and scenery hits the vibe as well in every single tone.
The FMC & MMC are both insanely (accurately) good and they fullfil & fit each other's madness, they're just simply made for each other 🤭
Definitely a book recommendation for all the dark romance girlies out there who enjoy books of (insanely) dark themes, with addition of thriller and horror genre here with a combination of dark romance. An insane ride for you all 💯💥👏🏻
Please be aware this book contains r@pe of a child, not in graphic detail, but it’s heavily insinuated and on page.
If you are looking for a book that gives Harley Quinn x Joker vibes, that will having you questioning everything, and leave you with a plot twist that will have your jaw on the floor then this is for you!
Deon had some absolutely despicable things happen to him as a child. A drug addicted mother, that eventually succumbed to her addiction. A dead beat step father that was only after her life insurance, and left him alone with his deceased mother the second she passed at only 8 years old. His situation truly broke my heart. After becoming an unruly child in the foster care system and eventually aging out he’s shut off any prospect of love and has an interesting way of dealing with interactions as a defense mechanism. He however is now the owner of a very successful AI empire. He is out to make those who inflicted the same pain as he felt as a child suffer. Unfortunately, he is caught, but the evidence is limited and possibly planted. There is also a copycat on the loose.
Abagail is a psychologist at the institute Deon is sent to for evaluation, and immediately her and Deon are drawn to each other. Deon recognizes demons that Abagail may possess and he wants them to come out to play. He thinks he’s just using her to manipulate his freedom, only he may end up losing more than just his freedom in the process. The spice in this book was next level, there is even creative uses for n33dles.
The plot twist in this literally had my jaw on the floor, I did not see that coming! Turns out Abagail may be hiding a dark secret of her own, and it wants out to play! This book had me feeling like I was going crazy in the best way! I didn’t know what to expect next, and it was simply fantastic!! My only negative comment is there was too much smut, I was really engrossed in the plot and found myself wanting to skip some scenes in order to find out what happens next.
Thank you so much to Faith Raven for allowing me to read this pre-release in exchange for my honest review
this was definitely very spicy. i liked that aspect a lot.
the audiobook was very well done.
i’ve been struggling with darker books.. mostly because the plot seems to be lacking in the ones i’ve read lately. i do feel like the plot was there in this one but i would’ve enjoyed it more had there been more of a buildup & more sustenance to the plot. it seemed like the plot was the background and the relationship & spice was at the front.
I had the best time listening to Locked Inside by Faith Raven. Some parts had me dancing around the house! With killer spice and perfectly unhinged characters, Faith kept me engaged throughout. I loved the thriller aspects of the plot and was happily shocked by the “WTF” plot twists that I never saw coming. I went in blind, and I’m glad I did.
This outstanding audiobook is performed in duet by Ehlen Valentine and James Cassidy. Both pack a punch with their portrayals of the main characters. Wow! All other characters were performed with differentiation, helping the story flow flawlessly. Noteworthy are the accents of side characters, unhinged laughs, and sound effects. Make sure you listen all the way to the end credits. You won’t regret it!
Locked Inside-Faith Raven Narrated by James Cassidy and Ehlen Valentine
Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 Narration 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧
This book was wild. It was giving Criminal Minds vibes kind of except they’ve already captured the suspect, Deon, and now it’s up to Criminal Psychologist Abigayle to determine if her new patient is the psychotic killer the detectives think he is. Deon’s darkness embraces Abigayle’s darkness and secrets are confessed by way of a treasure hunt game of physical contact with her body. Things get *spoicy* between doctor and patient and there were twists and turns that I was not expecting. I have been looking forward to this one for a while and it definitely lived up to expectations. This one also reminded me a lot of Trisha Wolfe’s Hollow’s Row series, so if you like that series, you’ll enjoy this one too.
James and Ehlen absolutely killed this audio. The way they both had to have their “psycho” voice and their regular voice and they both were so so good!
Omg :) truly don’t know where to start about this book ,amazed about those characters and their story ,loved the way they overcome the challenges and their pain to be together regardless of their traumatic past ,and what a journey The plot and the twists didn’t see coming omfg! Truly recommend!🖤💚🩵
This is my first Faith Raven read. It was recommended to me by a girlfriend, and I don't even know how to describe how it made me feel.
I finished listening to the audio book, and I didn't pick up another book for a while because all I could think about was this book. It had and still has me in a chokehold.
I counted down the house until I could read it again. It is so deliciously messed up, and I don't think a book has ever made me feel this way before.
You will not regret this read at all, and the plot twist will blow your mind.
Man this was wild af and extremely spicy! I did not see that twist at the end at all, I won’t elaborate because I don’t wanna ruin it for anyone else that wants to read it.
I didn’t know I needed to read about a mental patient x psychiatrist till now! This book was sooo good. The tension was everything. I like how when Abigayle was trying to read him, he was also reading her. He got into her mind and manipulated her so good that he had her going crazy. It was interesting to read their inner monologue and see how their minds and their bodies said two different things. Together they are unhinged. It was so spicy and I loved every second of it. 🥵 They were crazy to even attempt the things they did in a mental hospital where there is eyes everywhere. The plot twist was insane! 🤯 I did not see it coming at all but I loved it. The back and forth between roles was nicely done. I didn’t expect this book to be as unhinged and detailed as it was, especially coming from a sweet little author. 😆 I wish the story was a bit longer at the end so we could have got more spice and story. I can’t wait to own this book and read more from this author. It’s definitely worth the read.
Favorite quotes:
“But most of all, I loved you when you destroyed my demons one by one, when you revealed the depths of me as a person in front of all those strangers. I loved you when you finally showed me that I have always loved myself, but that I repressed it every moment of my life to punish myself, to destroy myself, for not having been able to save myself. And I will always love you for having freed me from every chain, bringing me peace within myself.”
“You feed your pleasure with my pain, but I feed my pain on your pleasure. This is my therapy, Abigayle. The more we fxck, the more my demons die.”
“But a sudden strange awareness, a peculiar certainty, creeps into my mind. Only one person could control them. Only one person could help me fight them. Only one person could destroy them all and save me, if I let her. Abigayle.”
“Grind your clit, Abigayle. I want to see you reach the peak of pleasure, but you won't fall into orgasm. Only I can give it to you. And you will beg for it. Is that clear?”
“And I finally want to give it to him. Because he lifted that unbearable burden, and I know he can support me. He can hold the weight of my trauma, of my hate, of my love. Just as I can support his and all the demons and pain inside him.”
“Keep begging me, baby. I'll drown your mind and body in madness.”
“What are your last words before I make you mine forever, Abigayle?” “Destroy me.”
If you’re looking for a dark, psychological romance that keeps you on edge, Locked Inside by Faith Raven is a must-read. This novel dives deep into the unsettling yet intriguing relationship between Abigayle, a psychologist, and her dangerously enigmatic patient, who is accused of horrific crimes. It’s a story that pushes boundaries, blurring the lines between fascination, fear, and forbidden desire.
From the first chapter, Faith Raven hooks you with a chilling atmosphere that makes it impossible to put the book down. Abigayle is a strong yet conflicted protagonist, drawn into a web of manipulation and power struggles as she tries to understand her patient. But the real question is, who’s truly in control?
The psychological depth in this book is one of its biggest strengths. The way the characters analyze and read each other adds an extra layer of intensity, making every conversation feel like a mental chess match. The tension between them is electric, and as the story unfolds, it becomes clear that this is more than just a therapist-patient dynamic; it’s a game of dominance, secrets, and unspoken desires.
That being said, Locked Inside is not for the faint of heart. The book comes with strong trigger warnings, as it delves into dark and disturbing themes. If you enjoy morally gray characters, psychological mind games, and a romance that thrives in the shadows, this book will be right up your alley.
Overall, Locked Inside is a haunting, thought-provoking read that will stay with you long after the final page. If you love dark romance with a psychological edge, this one is worth picking up!
OMG! That was one hell of a ride that had me questioning what was real, what was a delusion dream or what was a manipulation of the mind.
Abigayle is the typical beautiful, smart girl tasked to assess her patients in the psychiatric hospital she works at. Her job is never easy but it got really hard when her new patient, serial killer Deon Knight arrived. No man has ever captured her attention and brought out her primal needs like Deon did so easily and so quickly.
Is it Deon’s god like body, his sexy deep voice, his dark eyes, his commanding presence OR is it because he’s a dangerous serial killer? Abigayle’s curiosity gets the best of her and she just has to know this man! She becomes obsessed with him!
There is an instant connection between Abby and Deon. Not just a sexual attraction but something more…..something dark that they both harbour in themselves but also so electric.
As we see their professional relationship go out the window, it becomes a crazy, unhinged, sadistic sexual tryst. Is Deon manipulating Abby so he can get off his charges or does he really love her or was it just a dream?
This ride into insanity will blow your mind at what the human brain is capable of. How can a “normal” person be turned on by a psychopath? How can a “normal” person be turned on by acts of brutality and murder? This book will make you question your thoughts and morals so beware!
This dark romance has it all: morally grey characters, plot twists, thriller and horror vibes and it’s as spicy as you can get!

Okey, i cannot believe how good Faith plot twists are, honestly I was not expecting this, Abigayle is such a bad ass FMC, the way she Rode for Deon?? Amazing.
Spoiler alert 🚨
"I knew you were like me, Abigayle. Take my cock baby, drink my madness and my sins. Lose your mind. Lose yourself in me." The force of his words hits me harder than his cock sinking down my throat again as he stands upright. He thrusts and withdraws with such ferociousness I tremble for my own life.
If this isn’t the quote of the century i don’t know what it is. I loved these two, the chemistry, and the passion was intense.
If you wanna take any recommendations from me, I highly recommend this book, it will keep you on your toes, the main characters are well written, and the plot twist will have you on the edge of the chair 🫣😉
Overall rating: 5⭐️ Spicy level: 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

This book had me in a chokehold right from the start, and I just couldn’t stop reading it! It is fast-paced with A LOT of spice—maybe even a little too much for my liking. I personally would have loved to see a few more “casual” conversations between Abigayle and Deon. I know the whole sexual aspect is a key part of their relationship, but it still would have made their dynamic more interesting.
On the other hand, I was surprised that I loved the FMC (Abigayle) so much. I really enjoyed reading about her and through her POV. Her character had depth and was incredibly well-written. I especially loved her friendship with Jenna; the way they interacted made me laugh multiple times, and their scenes felt really comforting.
Abigayle’s and Deon’s tension and chemistry made everything a million times better! They were just made for each other’s craziness. Fulfilling each other’s darkest desires like it’s their reason for existence was just perfect.
The plot twist caught me off guard, and I had to put the book down for a while because I was not expecting that at all.
If you’re thinking about reading this, definitely keep in mind that it also contains dark topics like abuse, autassassinophilia (a fetish involving being killed), torture, and more—so beware of those before you start reading the book!
I had the honour of reading g this book as an arc read and loved every second of it.
This book is a crazy ride
It follows Abigayle and Deon
Abigayle is a psychologist working in a psychiatric hospital. She’s waiting for a new patient to arrive. He’s one of the most disturbing cases she’s ever worked on but she’s holding off her opinion of him until she starts working with him. He’s been accused of unaliving 25 people in the most gruesome of ways. She has a sense of dread, and this arrival only intensifies it. He’s an imposing man, who immediately starts to manipulate her, making her lose her grip on the control she tries to hold on to, but she’s soon letting go of it willingly when he shows her exactly what he’s capable of, controlling her body and bringing her to her knees. Deon doesn’t realise it, but she also has a hold on him, learning about him during their sessions and finding out his secrets without him realising it. He claims her as his, and although she objects, she doesn’t stop him when he plays her like a violin and has her screaming his name
There are lots of twists and turns in this book, and they are incredible. I loved every second of it. It’s dark, intense and had me hooked from page one 🖤🖤🖤
Thank you to Faith Raven for this opportunity to read and leave a review on this master piece of Locked Inside 🔥🥵🖤 I rated this a 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is definitely for any dark romance reader who really likes smut and a plot twists! This book was really smutty 😅🥵 probably a little too smutty for me I mean I absolutely love a good book with lots of spice but I also like a balance between that and the plot but this was still good!
The story focus on Abigayle who works at a mental hospital (psychologists) and she meets Deon who is a newly patient at this mental hospital and she vers tangled up with him as he is a morally grey patient who is dangerous and mysterious. But she can’t seem to stay away from him after he approached her the first time and had her trapped against his chest.
The connection between them two is like no other. It was very instant between these two and fair warning this story does have trigger warnings of past sexual assault so please check your trigger warnings before reading this book! 🖤
Overall, Faith did good with this book and look forward to seeing more from her in the future 🔥🖤🫶🏼
Firstly I would like to say Thankyou to Faith Raven for allowing me to ARC read Locked Inside. This book is an Absolute Masterpiece. Giving Dexter vibes mixed with Joker/ Harliquin style characters.
Dion Knight is a tortured soul who grew up with a drug addicted mother and a step father who beat him and more. He finds himself being accused of being a Serial Unaliving they named the Blender Killer. Being locked up in the mental hospital under observation until the Trial, he must manipulate the situation to gain his Freedom.
Abigayle is a psychologist and psychopathologist working along some of the mentally disturbed patients in the Mental Hospital. She did not expect her whole life to be turned upside down when her next patient arrived. Dion knows just how to get under her skin and take control of everything session. Causing her to break the rules and put her job at risk.
I must admit I did not see the Twists in the book coming. Totally catching me by Surprise. Which I absolutely love as it’s not predictable and kept me engaged the whole way. The characters have such a unique depth to them both and their back stories were so heartbreaking. I did find a few parts did Trigger so I took a little step back and then continued to read. So again please always check Trigger Warnings as this book does have a large Warning List.
5/5⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ This is in my Top 10 reads of 2024! as well as my first book from Faith. I’d like to thank her for the opportunity to recieve an ARC copy of this book.
Can I just say…. What the f$@k did I just read??? And I mean that in the BEST way possible. Abby the FMC and her personality(s) IYKYK😉 Tell me why that was such a shock factor for me. Absolute JAW DROP moment!!!!! And Deon Knight🥵❤️🔥 wooooow. The MMC in this book is something peculiar. He is both an innocent yet damned soul. My heart ached for him as a young child, but he grew into a hell of a man. However if it wasn’t for our girl Abby I don’t know that he would have healed the demons locked inside!
Jenna the BFF to the FMC Abby was kinda a firecracker. I enjoyed her when she popped in. She takes the “We listen and we don’t judge” to a whole other level💅🏼
“Drink my madness and my sins. Lose your mind. Lose yourself in me.” - Deon🥀
“Your own demons speak to mine, Deon.” -Abigayle 🖤
Faith, I feel like this review is going to be a love letter to you and your writing style but I can’t express how much I appreciate you and your work!
Deon.. Abigayle… there is nothing more than crazy admiration for these characters and this book.
We have a psychiatrist and a potentially violent serial unaliver…
Deon is well a bit cray cray but also oh so delicious! Abby is just as unhinged as him but hides it so well.. until she meets him. EVERYTHING changes after that fated day.
The character building and plot and setting of this books is amazing. It’s emotional, it’s wild, it’s scary and delicious all in one book! Check your triggers just in case but I 100% recommend this book.
I wish I could give this 100 ⭐️s it’s for sure 4 🌶️ s
Thank you so much for writing this! It’s a beautiful representation of how someone’s mind can be split and whole at the same time it’s just so so good!
There was so much smut in this book. If you love this kind of story and love degrading style smut, you'll absolutely eat this story up.
There was a small amount of plot and build up for it. I found it to be very slow and definitely more smut focused but still was good. The smut to me became a bit repetitive but I know there are folks who love this.
I think everything in it was very well written. The author is very descriptive and for me didn't use any words that gave me the ick. It was a well written story.
Personally, I think the repetitive smut and degrading may have just not been specifically for me. I would have loved if more plot was present and it balanced out the smut.
The ending and last 100 pages really held me in. I struggled in the beginning to push through all the smut but I am glad that I did. it finished strong.
I don't wanna say that I don't recommend this book but I also don't wanna say I do. Check the trigger warnings for sure. Be prepared for purely smut, not spice. I think the recommendation would be subjective person by person.
Holy dark thriller. This book is not for the faint of heart. It is full of dark twists and turns that even I didn’t see coming. This book contains a lot of dark elements so make sure to check the triggers before proceeding. I had the privilege of listening to the ALC of this book and the narrators did not disappoint. James Cassidy truly embodied the dark and twisted mind of Deon. Ehlen Valentine was stellar in her performance as Abigayle. Abigayle Roland is a doctor at a psychiatric institution. She gets her first glimpse of Deon when he is brought in for a 3 month treatment while being convicted of a murder. While treating Deon, Abigayle is instantly allured by Deon’s dark and twisted personality. Everything is not what it seems in this story. Darkness is awakened and collides in this morally black romance.

“Eyes on me, little bunny, I want you to watch me drive you crazy.”
This book destroyed me. One of the best Dark Romances I’ve ever read🙌 So much spice and sooooo very wrong. 😮💨
Abigayle is a Psychologist that works inside a Psych Ward. Her newest patient is accused of being a serial killer as the police continue to investigate a string of murders. Abigayle didn’t expect herself to fall for this man, it’s just not right. He’s her patient and she could lose her job. So much is at stake if she acts on her urges.
Y’all the twist?! It made sense but I didn’t see it coming at all. I can’t wait to dive into this authors other works! I can’t recommend this one high enough.
Harley Quinn and Joker vibes/retelling Loved the mind games, the plot twist and their connection A lot of people usually feel like Joker, in this case Deon, corrupted Abygail (or Harley), but I feel like Deon freed her - from her own self, her traumas, etc - and loved her for her - while everyone loved a shell of Abygail. Deon loved and accepted her whole. Loved the ending, and the fact that it was different from the normal Joker and Harley vibes (not spoilers tho 🤭) Would recommend this book for thrillers and romance lovers!
