NYX MORNINGSTAR IS DEAD.
Or at least, the girl I was is dead. The haughty queen bee of Luna Academy has been burned to ash along with the Darkbringer.

When I faced Solaris Adder at the Clash of Spirits, I was intent on his destruction, unknowing that it would destroy me too. When our battle was interrupted by a deadly army that had long been plotting their attack against the Celestial Society, I channeled all my power into vanquishing this threat to save my people.

To show their gratitude, the corrupt powers within the Celestial Society blamed me for the attack. I have been shunned, exiled, demonized—just like the serpentine constellation I was born into.

With nowhere to turn, I wander the streets of the City of Angels, searching for some clue as to what the Goddess has in store for me. I long for solitude as I lick my wounds, but the Darkbringer and the Groundshaker are relentless in their pursuits of me, each of them desiring me in their own twisted way. They share a secret—a bizarre connection between them that I am determined to figure out as the looming threat of an even bigger enemy whispers in the shadows around us.

But despite all those that hunt me and hate me, I am unafraid; for a secret guardian watches over me at all times, and he is fiercely protective.

If rebellion had wings and power wore fangs, it would look a lot like this series.
This book devoured me.

A story spun in shadows and fire — where dragons rule the skies, vampires lurk in plain sight, and magic pulses beneath every betrayal. The world is vast. The stakes are brutal. And the characters? They bleed, break, and become.

Nyx is no longer the girl you met in book one. She’s evolution personified. A storm in motion. Watching her rise is like witnessing a phoenix burn, just to fly harder. I’m feral for her arc.
And Jed + Solaris? If tension could crack the earth, they’d be the epicenter. You feel their bond long after the page turns.

The use of multiple POVs is a masterstroke. Like hearing echoes of the same war from different battlefields. Every voice sharpens the blade.
This isn’t just fantasy — it’s a reckoning.

🩸 For the ones who crave power and pay the price.
🔥 For the lovers torn apart by fate.
🐉 For the chaos that chooses you, and the strength to choose it back.

This series doesn’t ask you to fall in love.
It dares you to survive it.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of this book, after having read Scorpio Rising.

As with all sequels to brilliant first books…I was nervous.

I’m pleased to report that I LOVED THIS DAMN BOOK SOOOO MUCH AND NOW I HAVE TO WAIT AGAIIIIIIIIIIN FOR THE NEXT ONE. Gah.

Fibi…you’ve got the magic touch with the pen,
lady…

This is truly some brilliant and unique storytelling. It had me guessing and hanging on my the edge of my seat, and the twists and turns are well paced.

The story once again focuses on the Morningstar sisters, Emilia and Nyx.
Polar opposites and yet the familiar similarities start to become undeniable as the story progresses.

Nyx has been kidnapped and forced into a bond with Solaris. She is blamed for the carnage that took place on Hallows Eve. Demonized and labeled as a terrorist. Forced into exile.
Jed is pronounced dead by his father. He has gone into hiding.
He refuses to give up his search for those that killed the twins and more importantly….Nyx.

Emilia is left with a gaping hole where her sister once was. Always in the shadows, she now either has to remain there and fade away or chose to step up and put into the light, a prospect which terrified her to the bone.

Everything has been left in shambles since Hallows Eve and none of the group have been left unscathed. Each of them need to overcome their own personal demons and challenges to rise above to defeat the bigger powers that seek to defeat not just them, but their society as a whole.

⭐️ Plot: 5/5
🌶️ Spice: 2/5
📖 Genre: Paranormal Fantasy
🏞️ Setting: Los Angeles
🗣️ POV: Multiple
🛏️ Tropes:
- Witches/ Vampires/ Demons
- Love Triangle (sort of)
- Dragons
- Two Sisters
- Prophecy
- Uncovering origins

4.5 stars - *ARC Review*

I read Scorpio rising in 2024 in a day and from that point, I was counting down the days until malice & moonfire’s release. Safe to say, it was worth the wait.

Everyone is going through it in this book!! All of our beloved characters experience so much pain, betrayal and fear. They are forced to reflect on who they were vs who they need to be. They are forced to question everything they grew up with and thought they knew. Malice and Moonfire contains so much raw emotion that I desperately need a HEA and for the characters to - excuse my language - fuck shit up in the next book. And the ending?? Pain lol.

There are also several things that happen that makes me question where Fibi is taking things moving forward.

Half a star off because the pacing felt slow at times. I wish more happened in this book, but I can tell it’s setting up for an epic plot for the next book. Needless to say, I’ll be counting down the day until book 3’s release.

Special thanks to Fibi for choosing me to receive this ARC! It was my first one & I was truly so happy to be back in this world :)

When i tell you the celestial society series DID NOT DISAPPOINT for book2, i mean it. Nyx went through the most gut wrenching transformation and without giving spoilers, im just going to say this book series has genuinely transformed my life.

I feel like because 9 of my signs are in fire, I relate to her so much more than the average person. And the acceptance and support and love she receives from everyone is so healing for me. I feel like reading this character actually is transforming my own life and how I relate to people and the world and myself. It helps me accept myself. Ive never felt that so much from a book, and I just want to thank you. Both for creating this and for being available to tell this to

the amount of shadow work, inner child healing, genuine transforming and growth of these characters had me in a chokehold and nauseous and gave me a crick in my neck from not being able to put this down.

I cannot wait for what's in store as this series continues to blossom. Thank you for choosing me an as ARC reader, thank you for creating this series and THANK YOU for the humor that actually had me cackling aloud to myself while reading this. this emotional Rollercoaster was immaculate.

I've been waiting for this book for a whole year. Did it meet my expectations? Yes. No. Maybe.
I know this is a second book, and it's the one before the finale happens, but still, I feel like if we cut this book in half, it wouldn't change a thing. The pacing was off. The first half of the book, I was dragging myself along, hoping it would get better, and it did in a sense.
The world-building didn't get any clearer. We had some snippets of information that, in the end, didn't paint a big picture. The storytelling from multiple pov needed some work in my opinion, because I struggled going back and forth in every chapter.
I liked Emilia's character development, she has great potential. Nyx, on the other hand, was a wild card. Don't get me wrong, I love her impulsive nature and chaotic energy, but still, girl, get it together.
In the first book, Solaris was portrayed as a villain with no other purpose than to destroy and obliterate the world. Still, I thought there was more to his character, and I was right. He has been through a lot that we didn't know. But I didn't see any character development.
Jedidia, I don't know, man. I felt like he was thrown into the bunch just to make things difficult.
Overall, the dynamic between the three main characters was confusing. I was all in about the "threesome" that the author mentioned might happen in this book. But I didn't see the connection, and frankly, I don't know how she would make it work. But, I'm intrigued to see how this series would end.

Firstly, I received an ARC copy of this book and I’d like to thank Fibi for the opportunity! It is my first time and I’m so glad I applied.

This book really took me through the motions. Every character had massive amounts of growth. The inner turmoil, the dark parts of themselves exposed and examined, the acceptance and transformations were all amazing!

I so enjoyed hearing more from Emilia’s POV and I cannot wait to see where it goes in the next book. I absolutely LOVE Nyx. I love everything about all of these characters and I felt I could relate a little to all of them.

At times it was a bit slow but I am really looking forward to the next one and can’t wait for more sassy badassery!

The witty banter, friendships, relationships, acceptance and love throughout this book was written beautifully. It was dark, emotional, happy, all the good stuff you want in a fantasy book. The ending tho?! DIABOLICAL (in all the best ways lol)

A couple of my favourite quotes -

“Fucking look at you! You’re not a woman, you’re a myth and legend incarnate and I’m still trying to force mortal fucking laws and morals onto you”

“The shadows could not have him. He was mine.”

I was so excited to get to be an ARC reader for Fibi again with Malice & Moonfire after having the pleasure to read Scorpio Rising early too. I will start off by saying that Malice & Moonfire did NOT disappoint, and I think I maybe even liked it more than Scorpio Rising?!?!! I was enraptured and sucked into the narrative right off the bat and stayed engaged the entire time I was reading.

The writing style is edgy and clear, the story really comes alive through the plot development, and the characters!!!!! They’re so well-rounded and nourishing to connect with. I enjoy how the series in general looks through the perspective of a different characters every few chapters, and while we only got 3-4 perspectives in Scorpio Rising, we got even more characters telling their stories in Malice & Moonfire, which I adored.

I was disappointed a leeeeetle bit in the 1st book, Scorpio Rising, because of the FMC Nyx Morningstar… She felt so stubborn and unrelatable. Her pride was absolutely insufferable. BUT! I see what her initial pridefulness was all FOR now that we get into her character’s transformations in Malice & Moonfire. Now I’m a total Nyx fanatic. I see her in myself whereas I really had trouble relating to her before.

It feels like Fibi has tapped into something deep, dark, and multidimensional with this second volume in the Celestial Society series. The FMCs go through so much shadow work and inner child work in this book, and it moved me to tears time & time again. And when Fibi wrote from the perspectives of the teachers / books at Luna Academy, it felt like she was really channeling some ancient wisdom about themes like Astrology, Elemental Magic, and Star Origins.

And the overall plotline was just dripping in lore that I feel the world desperately needs. It’s a carefully-crafted, brilliant, stimulating, undeniably-spiritual, and timely modern mythology of gods and mortals in a broken world with corrupt leaders… and wrongfully-labeled villains who are the only ones that see through the bullshit and care to make the world better.

There’s a little bit of everything: a dang DRAGON!!!!! (brought back from the edge of extinction as a species), juicy romance scenes, interpersonal drama, clues to the overall mystery, mythic lore, magic, mayhem, queerness, yearning, complex characters, and playfulness about “heroes” vs. “villains.” I can’t get enough of it. I’m addicted and already jonesing for volume 3!!!

I read Scorpio Rising back in 2023 and have been dying for the sequel ever since. Malice & Moonfire was more than worth the wait. It is the kind of book that grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go, and I mean that in the best possible way.

From the first chapter, I was hooked by the rich worldbuilding, the tension, and the magnetic force that is Nyx. She’s not your typical heroine. She’s brutal, untamed, and absolutely unforgettable. Every decision she makes carries weight. Every word she says feels like a loaded blade. Watching her navigate a world of power, prophecy, and betrayal felt like watching a star implode—beautiful, dangerous, and impossible to look away from.

The story is dark and dreamy, balancing gritty emotion with moments of raw vulnerability. The side characters don’t just orbit Nyx. They clash, collide, and carve their own places in the narrative. Scorpio-approved levels of delicious chaos.

The writing itself is gorgeous. Moody, lyrical, with just the right amount of bite. You feel the burn of every betrayal, the ache of every choice, and the glow of every stolen moment of softness.

As someone born under a Scorpio sun and Virgo moon, I crave books with bite and soul. I want to be devastated and enchanted. Malice & Moonfire gave me both.

If you love powerful women, dangerous magic, morally gray choices, and characters who draw blood and break hearts, this is your next obsession.

5 stars. Fierce, unflinching, and unforgettable.

Looking forward to whatever you bring us next, Fibi.

Malice and moonfire did not disappoint as book 2 in the Celestial Society series!!

We ended book one on a major cliffhanger and picked right back up where we left off for a tension filled, character development rich ride.

As with book one I was brought through so many emotions for these characters that have become so close to my heart. Plenty of hilarity, heat, frustration, shock, pride, exhilaration, and sadness to be felt.

The mysteries of this world and the ancient roots of the society continue to simmer, creating a page turning backdrop amid the personal evolutions of our core crew.

I loved the realness and the rawness in this book— the facing of the shadows that are running rampant through the world in search of their wielder…

The slow burns of certain aspects of this story really helped drive home what I feel is the central message of this book: we are exactly where we are meant to be in this divinely orchestrated journey. Those moments where we feel lost, dropped or abandoned by the higher power are there to bring us to the deep dark truth of who we are and who we are becoming.

Malice and Moonfire sets the stage for what is to come in this series with whispers of both triumph and destruction on the horizon— I’m here for it all!!

Overall I would sum this book up as a glorious (😉😉) sequel that brought us deep into our characters inner worlds to purify them in the dark and shed their false skins to prepare for the powerful, world ending(…..birthing?) prophecies that the Goddess has in store for them.

Cannot wait for book 3!!! 🐉

First off, thank you to Fibi for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review!! Malice & Moonfire is the sequel to Scorpio Rising (you MUST read Scorpio Rising before you pick up M&M) and let me tell you, I thought I was hooked before? It’s NOTHING compared to how I am completely OBSESSED now.

I loved Nyx from the get go in SR. She’s a gritty and morally grey FMC (LOVE that about her) who deep down has her vulnerabilities and guards them to her last breath. But in M&M she EVOLVES. I LOVED seeing the dualities and the maturity she goes through all throughout this book. She’s still true to form and that edge doesn’t dull, but there’s another level to her. There’s a softness that makes her more human, and that had me rooting for her even more.

And don’t get me STARTED on Jed and Solaris. I love them both, I’ll never choose between them and you can’t make me. 😂 I liked seeing their personas change throughout the book also, and I think overall Fibi did so well with the growth of all the characters including the supporting characters.

Overall I ADORED this one. This plot was PLOTTING. The chemistry and tension had me in a chokehold. And the cliffhanger?! Fibi. 🫠 Needless to say I CANNOT WAIT for the 3rd book and I need it NOW. 💙💙💙

This was SO good! I think I liked it even more than SR, which is really saying something.

I finished this in just over a day. The plot was entertaining the whole way through. There was never a good time to put it down.
I love these characters and their development in this book.

I finished days ago and find myself still thinking about this book (especially the end). Waiting for the next one is going to be genuinely painful lol

I did not think Fibi could do better than book 1 but she proved me SO wrong. The plot and characters are so unique and gripping I just want more PLEASE! This world really sucks you in which takes me back to a similar nostalgia feeling of reading the Mortal Instruments for the first time. The magic is so immersive yet imbeded in the real world, you feel like it could really be happening alongside your own reality.
