Accidentally Kidnapping

Accidentally Kidnapping the Mountain Man

Rate this book
I have to sell this grumpy silver fox mountain man a house today, or I'll lose my job. I'm willing to do anything.

Logan Armstrong is the most difficult client I’ve ever worked with. He might be the most gorgeous man I’ve ever met, but he’s also the pickiest. He’s determined to find the perfect house/college graduation present for his daughter, and yes, that’s very sweet, but I’ve lost count of how many beautiful mountain homes he’s rejected as not good enough.

I’m ready to pull my hair out in frustration. Professional frustration, and frustration of…another kind.

Because throughout all of these countless viewings, I’ve developed a raging crush on Logan, even though he’s old enough to be my father. I like the gray woven through his dark hair and the way his eyes crinkle when he smiles. I love how safe I feel when he towers over me, as though his broad shoulders could shelter me from the world. He makes me want to curl up in his lap and let him handle all of my problems.

Problems like my boss, who has made it clear that if I can’t close this deal, he’ll find someone who can.

So I do something crazy. Something absolutely, certifiably nuts.

I kidnap Logan. Accidentally. Sort of.

I trap us in the cabin we’re viewing, refusing to let him leave until he commits to something.

Little do I know, the thing he most wants to commit to is…me.

Accidentally Kidnapping the Mountain Man is a short and very spicy instalove novella, starring a slightly grumpy and completely smitten mountain man and the much younger woman he’d do anything for. Even go along with a kidnapping.

Kaylee urgently needs to close this sale to keep her job and home. However, her client, Logan, is proving to be complicated. This is the fifteenth house she has shown him, and he has found an issue with each one.

Finding Home

While it is kinda sweet that he doesn't want to give up his time with her, Logan "Daddy" Armstrong is unknowingly cruel to Kaylee "baby girl" Murphy when he extends his house hunting. What he does to make up for it? Let's just say that I'd forgive him. Most definitely! 🥵🔥🩵

She’s so damn sweet and innocent that it makes me want to ruin her. Teach her. Take care of everything for her. Show her exactly how to be a good girl for Daddy.
-- Logan Armstrong

This is very much over-the-top, instalove that is so yummy that I couldn't help but get excited as they crossed first and quickly slid into home. Moans and sighs of contentment are all around. Daddy. Is. Home. 😘

DNF 45% if I finished this it would be a one star. Yes, I actually can believe that a man would be into a girl less than half his age AND a year younger than his own daughter. Yeah the fact that she’s inexperienced, naive, and in a vulnerable situation also don’t sound like negatives to a man. She’s been his realtor for 2 weeks and that’s a love story, baby.

HOTTT DAYUMMM!!!

holy jalapenos, this was a super sweet, smutty little scorcher! First time reading this author, but definitely wont be my last! I loved the writing style, it was smooth and easy and the story flowed together well. And for being a romance quickie, it had enough plot and personality to keep me interested.

My only complaint was the ending wasnt too far out and there were no babies. It would’ve been perfect if not for those missing elements

Safe. Hero’s past is barely mentioned, previously married but never in love, celibate and not a manwhore before meeting heroine. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero, gives him the gift of claiming all of her firsts for himself. No ow/om, no cheating or sharing. Hea with epilogue

4 stars, 3.5 on the spice scale.

Another short, fun read in this series — perfect as a palette cleanser between darker books or when you’re short on time but still want to tick a book off your list. It does exactly what it says on the tin: insta-love, age gap, snowstorm, and a dash of accidental kidnapping.

Logan is about 25 years older than our heroine, a 21-year-old virgin and trainee realtor desperate to make a sale before her boss fires her. He’s house-hunting for his daughter’s graduation gift, but from the moment they meet, Logan is smitten. He keeps rejecting properties just to spend more time with her.

Desperate, she throws his car keys into the woods during a house tour as a snowstorm rolls in — forcing him to stay and pick a house. Logan doesn’t mind being “kidnapped” and makes the most of their night together. They admit their feelings, declare their love, and move in together for a cozy HEA.

Another hot, short, and (somehow kind of) sweet age gap instalove story from Alyson Archer!

(To be fair, the MCs knew each other for a little bit of time before the story began, so it's not *totally* insta...they do both claim to have fallen into instalust at first sight when they finally have a convo about it, though)

The "accidentally kidnapping" part of the story was a fun twist--this title was so long that I had to increase the cell size on my reading spreadsheet, but for a name like this it was worth it!--and I'm interested to see how the other authors took up the challenge as well.

It's gonna be hard to beat a shirtless mountain man chopping wood in the dead of winter and who can start up a generator with no problem when he gets snowed in with the heroine, though... ;)

Fingers crossed that Logan's daughter will have her own book!

"It’s like snow on the beach, weird but fucking beautiful."

| “What do I get out of this? Kaylee, baby, I get you. I get the pleasure of being with you, in every single way. I get the satisfaction of looking after something precious. I get you, and that’s everything.”

somehow, this one managed to be worse than the first. where is the chaos? where is the unhinged energy? where is my “i accidentally kidnapped you, crossed state lines, and now we have to pretend we’re engaged or else i’ll be arrested for a felony” level of delusion?

the first book had that spark — that absurd, campy energy that made it impossible to take seriously (and that was the point). but this one? it tried to be bigger, a little bit longer, more emotional, and somehow ended up feeling flatter. i know i said book one was too short, but this one felt too long, and not because of plot development or emotional depth. no. it was because these two simply would not stop talking during sex.

and listen, not to sound like some kind of connoisseur — i’m not — but why are there entire paragraphs of dialogue mid-sex? love confessions, promises, emotional monologues... while naked. i’m sitting there like, “please. just one moment of silence.”

the chemistry didn’t help either. i didn’t really feel the connection between this couple, which is a problem, because when i’m starting to believe more in the relationship of two people who got married after two days of knowing each other (shoutout to zane and daisy), you know something went wrong.

and that brings us to the characters. they were... aggressively flat. not that zane and daisy from book one were deep — zane had the emotional depth of a teaspoon — but at least daisy had personality. she was chaotic. she made terrible choices with conviction. kaylee, on the other hand, was just innocent and poor. that was her entire personality.

and look, i’m exactly her age — so i’m allowed to call bullshit on this. she’s got a car (barely holding itself together, but still), and an apartment in an allegedly “expensive” city that eats up 75% of her salary as a realtor. so how much is she making, exactly? because you cannot convince me that someone who can pay that rent, keep a car running, and live alone is so poor she’s surviving on crackers and sad vegetables. girl doesn’t need a rich husband, she needs a finance spreadsheet.

and okay, i get it — i, too, would rather marry a hot man in flannel than worry about rent — but still. the math ain’t mathing. it makes zero sense that she’s maintaining all that without a college degree, yet somehow still playing the “i don’t eat enough because i can’t afford groceries” card. be serious, kaylee. learn how to budget.

it’s not that i expected greatness from accidentally kidnapping the mountain man. i wasn’t waiting for plot twists or emotional revelations. i just wanted to have as much ridiculous fun as i did with the first one. instead, i got a slightly dull story where everyone talks too much and the spark is nowhere to be found.

so yeah — not a total disaster, but definitely a disappointment. the chaos-to-boredom ratio is all off. bring back the felony-level hijinks. bring back the unhinged cowboys. bring back the fun.

Acidentalmente Sequestrando O Homem Da Montanha

Finding her heart a home.

Logan Armstrong is planning to purchase a cabin as his daughter Hailey's college graduation gift. But he's the pickiest client Kaylee Murphy has ever had the misfortune to work for. Her boss has told her to make this sale or he'll fire her and find someone who can. She doesn't want to be homeless, but that may happen if Logan doesn't make up his mind soon. Desperate times call for desperate measures. And does she have a doozy of an idea to force him to decide!

Logan knows he's dragging his feet, but if he makes a decision, he won't have an excuse to see her anymore. He knows he's too old for her, but in his heart, he knows she's the one for him. He just doesn't know how to convince her of that. Then he also has to break the news to Hailey that he's in love with someone a year younger than her.

Logan started out working at a logging company before becoming a master carpenter and opening his own construction company, Armstrong Construction. He and his wife divorced about fifteen years ago. They co-parented until Hailey was eighteen, before his ex relocated.

Kaylee is only twenty-one, but she's trying to establish herself as a realtor. She's close to getting her license and gaining the security she's been missing her entire life. Neither her mother nor her father wanted her. She was raised by her aunt, who barely tolerated her. She was considered to be useless and a leech. She's accustomed to having only two meals a day, shopping at thrift stores, and pinching pennies to survive. And now, Logan seems to be the one who will cause her world to crash and burn around her. If she could only cuddle up next to him and capture some of his strength, but he wouldn't be interested in a too young and too inexperienced girl like her, would he?

Finally she's had enough! She grabs his keys, runs outside, and tosses his keys into the snow-covered pines. They're staying until he decides on which home he's going to buy for Hailey!

Well that was.. something. I mean it wasn't bad but I'm just not really into the Daddy thing. And in this case it's the Daddy/Sugar Baby thing, which is worse than just being called Daddy.

Aside from the above, it's hard to believe that a guy like Logan who built his 3 thousand square foot home with 3 bedrooms would use a real estate agent to find a home for his daughter, unless she means about as much to him as his ex wife. It just didn't make sense, and now he wants to take care of Kayle, take care of her bills, furnish her apartment, etc.. but he only wanted to buy his flesh and blood daughter some random house instead of building her one, right. This man's priorities are fucked up.

Let's talk about Kayle for a second. Yes, I felt bad that neither of her parents wanted her, that the aunt who raised her didnt want her either but was forced to raise her, that she was struggling, etc. Good thing she just opened her legs and served up her virginity to a rich older man who will take care of her though. I know, I know, it's fiction and all but it's just a little annoying that this whole time she was waiting for someone to take care of her and now she has it.

As for their relationship, I mean.. what relationship? Logan tried to resist his crush for like 5 seconds before it turned into an immediate I love you.l, and Kayle... well Kayle doesn't know what love is but is so quick to say it to him. Yes, it's a little cute the speech she gave and what not but a lot of the writing of their dialog doesn't match the fact that know nothing about each other. They honestly speak to each other in a way that would have you believing they've been together for a while.

The dirty talking was good at first but then it was just more of the same thing over and over again. I mean half this short book is sex, which, fine, if that's your thing and all but it got boring fast.

All in all it was fine for what it was

Realtor Kaylee Murphy has shown her client Logan Armstrong fifteen houses, but he calls them all “nice but not the one” for his twenty year-old daughter, and she fears losing her job due to his pickiness. So when snow starts to fall quickly as they are checking out the latest property and he gets his keys out for them to leave, she has a moment of insanity, grabs his keys and slings them deep into the snow in the pine forest, thus for all intents and purposes kidnapping him. Little does she know that his reticence has nothing to do with him or his daughter but with Kaylee herself, whom he secretly covets even if there is a twenty-five year difference in their ages. And little does he know she feels the same way, that is until they confess their attraction to each other and fall in lust followed quickly by love.

Kudos to Alyson Archer for another swoon worthy age-gap insta-love story that tugged at my heartstrings and left me furiously turning the pages until I sighed with a whoosh at the beautiful ending. Logan and Kaylee, while miles apart in so many ways, are perfect for each other even if they have a very unusual beginning. After all, how many people can say they fell in love in the midst of a hostage kidnapping? If you are a true romantic who loves happy endings, treat yourself to this gem, including the extra juicy bonus content!

ACCIDENTALLY KIDNAPPING THE MOUNTAIN MAN is part of the Accidentally Kidnapping series and yet another winner from this author.

Kaylee is a twenty-one-year-old trainee Realtor, desperate to make a sale as her boss is threatening her job, which will have a knock-on effect in her losing her apartment. Logan is the forty-six-year-old mountain man who runs his own successful business. The sparks immediately fly between these two but it is also a slow-burn, with both of them convinced the other wouldn't be interested.

Logan refuses every house, simply because he wants to continue seeing Kaylee, leading her to throw away his keys in a snowstorm, her frustrations boiling over and making them both realise how stupid they were being.

This story was HOT once they got together, and I loved the caring and safe environment Logan was insistent on providing for Kaylee. I'm really hoping we see more of these couples as there are hints about Logan's daughter, Hailey.

A quick perfectly-paced read that I thoroughly enjoyed and HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Ruined by the Kink . . .

Kaylee Murphy is starting to get exasperated with her mountain man client, Logan Armstrong. She has already shown him more than a dozen houses to choose from as a gift for his daughter’s graduation. But nothing seems to be good enough for him! If she cannot sell a house to him by today, her boss assures her she will lose her job! So in desperation, she at last grabs his keys and tosses them into the snow, effectively stranding them together until she can get him to make up his mind. If she had only know that he was obsessively attracted to her and this was his way of spending time with her, and if he had known the crush she had developed on him, perhaps their tedious house-hunting would have been cut short and maybe replaced by a dinner date? Will he tell her his “real” intentions toward her -- and is she into the daddy kink? Or can she convince him to choose the property he most admires and sign off on the gift?

This might have been a cute little story until I felt it moving toward the “daddy kink” stuff. Please authors, make it very plain to a potential reader when you feel compelled to go in that direction. Some of us, me particularly, are disgusted by any sort of kink. I know some appreciate that stuff, but I am not one of them and I was not adequately warned off or I would not have accepted this ARC.

Kaylee, the female realtor lead, has been showing properties to Logan, the male lead. Whilst the properties she’s been showing fulfil his brief, he’s refusing to commit and demanding to see more. When her boss threatens to fire her if Logan won’t agree to buy something, Kaylee throws Logan’s keys into the bush to force him to remain at the most recent property until he makes a decision.

Logan knows he’s far too old for Kaylee but he wanted to spend time with her in the only way he thought available to him. He’s mortified by her distress once she tells him her employment has been threatened.

But now they’re stuck in a property because of a storm. Both are resisting their attraction to each other, but maybe they can make a relationship…

This novella is dual POV, well written, and a sweet and steamy contemporary, Instalove, obsession romance. I enjoyed Kaylee’s grit and determination to rise above her circumstances. I was amused by Logan’s obsession. I enjoyed the steamy intimate scenes.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

TROPES:

-instalove

Kaylee and Logan make a beautiful couple!!

Kaylee is a realtor and she HAS to land Logan as a client and sell him a house or else she will lose her job. They're attracted to each other instantly but don't make a move. Logan leads her on, following her from house to house, never picking one- simply because he wants to spend more time with her. Kaylee, however, has grown tired of the game and she chucks his truck keys out in the snow to strand him with her so he can finally make a decision.

And boy... does he. ;)

I loved this! Everything Alyson Archer writes is pure gold. Her books are like crack, lol. You can't get enough! The chemistry was off the charts. It was also really, really sweet. Five stars! <3

Accidentally Kidnapping The Mountain Man is a standalone story in series written by multiple authors.

I really enjoyed this steamy story of Kaylee and Logan. Desperate because her job is on the line, which then means her whole life would be even more miserable, Kaylee holds Logan hostage in a house that she’s showing him. And then they get snowed in….

This is an age gap, steamy story, with a very dirty talking mountain man. And it was right up my alley! It’s just like the author mentions in her bio: “They might be quick and dirty, but I guarantee that my stories will leave you smiling.” It did exactly that!

Favourite quote:
“I want us, too,” I whisper. “More than I’ve ever wanted anything, I want us.”
He laughs, the sound echoing around us. “How did I get so lucky?” I grin at him. “You got kidnapped by the right girl.”.

mountain man romance.
Kaylee is a young real estate agent who is struggling to make ends meet. But while she has to find a house for the attractive Logan, she can't find him a house that she likes despite all her efforts, he refuses them all one by one. Her boss then threatens to fire her if she doesn't find him a house, while he again refuses the new house she has just found, she kidnaps him on a whim.
Logan is a lonely mountain man. His mission was simple: find a house to offer to his daughter, he didn't expect to fall in love with the young real estate agent who is half his age. In order to spend more time with her, he decides to refuse all the houses she presents to him, even if they suit him. He didn't expect her to kidnap him.
Will Kaylee forgive Logan for his lie and will Logan be able to confess his feelings to Kaylee...

How does this happen? I mean, why do I get sucked into this novella series’ that a bit off the hinges? Well, I read the first one because @ChloeMaine wrote it and it was a part of her Lowry Brothers series. Plus, I read @AlysonArcher is the other novella holiday series I did, and hers was one of my favorites, so I decided to get pulled in and try this one too.

Well, it was exactly what it was promoted as, and for me, it has some of my personal least favorite troupes – the Daddy kink isn’t for, she was a virgin and it was a huge age gap with insta-love. So, it was a lot. I loved the realtor vibe (Kaylee is trying to sell the grumpy mountain man with flecks of grey a home and he looks at them all because he doesn’t want their time to end). Of course there was a spice and these two hit the ground running, literally.

Am I going to keep going? Sure, why not. I’m a hot mess express, ha!

Kaylee (h) is desperate. If she doesn’t sell a house soon, she’ll lose her job, and her home. So when gruff, mountain man Logan (H) refuses to commit to yet another property, she panics and does something crazy… she steals his truck keys. Now they’re snowed in together, and Logan should be furious. Instead, he’s amused—and tempted. Kaylee doesn’t know it, but he’s been rejecting houses just to keep seeing her. She’s too young, too sweet, and completely off-limits… but she’s also all he wants. Now that they’re snowed in together, resisting her is impossible and one heated night changes everything. But just as Logan convinces Kaylee to move in, their secret romance comes to light and leads into a messy, complicated reality. She kidnapped him first. But now? He’s never letting her go. Steamy instalove, age gap, mountain man romance, exploring love, connection, family, and belonging.

Kaylee, a young trainee realtor is in desperate need of a sale, because she would loose her job otherwise.
She has shown 14 houses to Logan, an older business mountain man, who looks for a house for his daughter.
At house 15 Kaylee has enough and in an impulsive moment she throws his key away and therefore keeps them together.
What Kaylee didn’t realized is that the houses were all fine, but he wanted an excuse to see her.
With the forced proximity their relationship changes rather quickly.
It’s a super hot and sweet story with an amazing protective and caring male lead, an innocent female lead, instalove, age gap and a happy ending that leaves you swooning. And treat yourself to the bonus content - it’s so worth it!.

This is a fun steamy short story about a new realtor, twenty-one year old Kaylee Murphy. She is desperate to make her first sale. Her client is a forty-six year old construction company owner Logan Armstrong. He's looking to purchase a house for his daughter's college graduation present. He hasn't made up his mind on one of the many houses she's shown him because he's wildly attracted to her despite their age gap. He and doesn't want the relationship to end. Meanwhile her boss is pressuring her to make the sale and move on or lose her job. While showing him the latest house that he's still undecided on, she throws his car keys into the growing snow pack to force him to make a decision. They end up snowed in and truths spill out. It's a bit over the top but a fun fantasy to read.

Kaylee and Logan

Younger Kaylee has no one, her parents didn’t want her and the aunt that raised her was not any more loving. She’s been on her own for a couple years.
Trying to get her real estate license while working for a realtor. All she has to do is sell Logan the house for his daughter Hailey’s graduation.
Logan has feelings for Kaylee but can’t get past the 25 year age difference. Instead of asking her for a date he says no to all the listings so he can continue to spend time with her.
Kaylee will be homeless if she can’t get the commission for selling a house to Logan. A snow storm blows in while showing him a home, rather than let him leave she grabs his keys and throws them into the woods and snow.
This may have the best first time with a couple I have read. HEA and epilogue.

Such a good book - I read it in one go! Plenty of tension building between the two main characters. Logan is trying to fight his growing attraction and love for Kaylee. That is until he finds out she feels the same way.

Kaylee is struggling and in desperation to keep her job, she 'kidnaps' Logan to get him to buy one of the many properties that she has shown him. What she doesn't know is that Logan is only declining the houses so he can spend more time with her.

There are some really good laugh out scenes in this book and as you would expect from an Alyson Archer book, there is also plenty of sexy parts between Logan and Kaylee.

A definite recommendation.

This deserves 5 stars for the dirty talk alone!! OMG!! So hot! This is an age gap story - Logan is a successful man who owns his own construction company and is purchasing a home for his daughter who is about to graduate from college. He plans to hire a realtor and walks into the office and sees intern Kaylee (a 21 year old who is "just getting by" and honestly struggling through life a bit) and tells the owner he wants to work with her only. The "action" doesn't start right away so maybe a bit of a slow burn, but once they get together (or should I say Kaylee "kidnaps" Logan or Logan decides to stop jerking around and confront his obsession with Kaylee) it is on!!

Accidentally Kidnapping the Mountain Man was a so-so read for me. There was about as much plot as a 1993 Cinemax after dark movie, and quite possibly more smut! I loooove an age gap, but the Daddy thing is not my jam. I wish I had known about that kink before going into this book. It felt very predatory - there’s a young, innocent woman who’s on on the brink of economic collapse when she meets a wealthy Daddy who wants nothing more than to take care of her. The power dynamic is just 🤯I’m thinking the next book will be Hailey and Beau, and I say, Bring It On!.

Ms. Archer delivers another hot, spicy, dirty talker, age gap, forced proximity story that has the pages on fire and you needing a very cold shower. Kaylee is a realtor trying to get Logan, a lumbersnack who is about 25 years older than her, to buy a house for his daughter before she is fired. Stranded in the snow storm the two of them heat the house without the need for a fire if you get my drift. Logan has a mouth on him that would melt the panties off any woman. Kaylee loves the idea of an experienced man since she is very inexperienced. Talk about an instant attraction, the two of them had a chemistry that was off the chart.

I enjoyed reading “Accidentally Kidnapping the Mountain Man” by Alyson Archer. It’s a good, quick read with a nice mix of humor, romance, and adventure.

Logan is a great character. I loved him and wish I could find someone like him. The chemistry between the characters was great too.

I do wish some of the steamy moments had more detail. The tree scene in Chapter 12 and the hot tub moment at the end could have been more descriptive.

I’m also curious about Beau and Hailey. Do they have something going on? That would be interesting to see in a future book.

Overall, this was a fun read. I enjoyed it and look forward to more books from Alyson Archer.
