A Game Of Hide &Seek by A.M Tufe Just finished A Game Of Hide &Seek and I have no words to describe this masterpiece! This book is like a giant rollercoaster, made me cry like a child!🥹I won’t say more! This Book it a must read!If you haven't read it yet, now is the time to do it!!! I know it's too early, but I can't wait for the next book!!🫠 Thank you por providing me the ARC!!❤️
I devoured A Game of Hide & Seek in just a few hours — that’s how hooked I was! The action and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat, constantly wondering what would happen next and how the characters would escape the mess they were in. The plot is so gripping that I couldn’t put it down for even a second. But when I reached the end, let’s just say... I wasn’t happy — not in the way I wanted to be, anyway. The cliffhanger A. M. Tufe left me with was brutal, and yes, I definitely shed a few tears. But that’s a true mark of a talented author. Now, I’m practically dying for the next book in the series.
I adored Tufe's debut, A Game of Trust, and had high expectations for book two. At first, the beginning didn’t quite hit the mark for me, but as the story progressed, everything exploded into action, and I couldn’t tear myself away. The plot twists were jaw-dropping — I was left speechless, trying to process the shock and awe of what I had just read. The danger, the unexpected turns, and the emotional rollercoaster had me terrified for these characters that I had grown so attached to. I can’t even begin to imagine what will happen in the final book; I’m genuinely scared for who will survive and who won’t. My heart aches thinking about it.
Belle, in particular, was different from the first book, which was expected given everything she’s been through. She’s still an incredibly strong character, though, and watching her navigate the challenges she faces was such a powerful experience. The entire group of characters are resilient, and their journey together through loss, pain, love, and trials, both internal and external, was one of the most captivating aspects of the story. Their found family dynamic is so beautiful, and it’s clear that these bonds are tested in ways that really make you feel for them.
In the end, A Game of Hide & Seek has everything a reader could want — heart-pounding action, emotional depth, and characters that you genuinely care about. Tufe has truly outdone herself, and I am counting down the days until the next book in the series.
Today we return to a dark dystopian story where you can't even trust yourself, because pain, betrayal, and death lurk around every corner. FMC Belle is trying to put together all the shards into which her soul shattered after losing everyone she cared about. However, three years full of trauma, mourning, and loss must go aside. Belle received shocking news that turned her life upside down again. Now she has a new reason to live and fight again. But returning is never easy, and starting to trust again is harder than it might seem.
There were several great things I really loved about the book, especially the rawness of emotions and the storyline itself. Do you like the fight for life in the form of twisted games? Intrigues between mafia families that do not shy away from even the most horrific acts in their pursuit of power? You can find all of this here. The book is full of several strong characters, each carrying their own traumas and the weight of the past. Some characters you will want to punch in the face, others you will want to hug and comfort and assure them that everything is gonna be alright, but it won't... For example, I really wanted to slap Lena, but in the end I have to admit that I was left with my jaw dropped and hiding under the covers while reading. Just when you think that nothing could surprise you anymore, the author digs out another trickster card and detonates another bomb and beautifully hooks the reader for the next sequel.
What I struggled with a bit while reading were the repetitive deeper thoughts and feelings, which sometimes overshadowed the story itself, which could have been given more space. I was also left with a few unanswered questions, to which I would be quite interested in the answers and I hope that we will find them one day. I struggled a bit with FMC herself, I expected her to behave differently in certain situations and it was harder for me to understand her and find my way around her. In other words, she lost a bit of that tough girl vibe for me.
I still really enjoyed the book and for lovers of dystopia, Hunger Games, revenge and mafia stories this is an excellent choice!
Thank you to the author for providing the ARC for review purposes.
After how A Game of Trust ended I honestly couldn’t stop thinking about it and was so excited for the release of book 2!
A Game of Hide and Seek picks right up where book 1 ended. We see a totally different Belle, wish I was super excited and was predicted based on what she suffered.
I found the first part of the book a little slower than usual, compared to the amount of action we got from the first novel, and although I understand that I felt some parts where I was desperately waiting for more.
When we hit more or less 50% of the book is really where things get chaotic and I loved every damn second of it!
The book ends in a huge cliffhanger, as the author has gotten us used to!
I spent a whole day thinking only of the book, the story, the characters. And I still don't promise that I won't miss any spoilers.
I still don't have everything settled, but I have to say something, however little it may be, and maybe I can make you curious. But remember, the first volume must be read before diving into the second. Because all the details connect.
I have so many questions and so many words of praise. Even if I can't believe what happened during the story.
I don't know whether to be happy or not for what I discovered, when in the first volume I thought it was impossible. Especially with everything that has been talked about throughout this story up until the point of the reveal.
I didn't expect the person behind orchestrating those sick games. When I read who she was, before her name was revealed, I expected a completely different person to be behind it all.
There were times when I would take a break and stare at a wall after reading one of the games or after Ex made his first appearance.
I wanted to hate Ex. He gave me every reason to do it, and yet I couldn't. Even now I can't hate him. Not completely. Because I also read his story and understood.
As messed up and unusual and terrifying as it is, that's their life.
And everything is described as realistically as possible. With hatred, crying (mostly from me), teasing, arguments.
I was going to say that Mix pissed me off with the way she saw Belle. And if I were Mixie and Belle was my friend, through everything they went through before they were separated, I wouldn't have given a second thought to such a thing.
I'm not saying Mixie didn't have her fair share. Because in the situation they all were in, you couldn't even trust the person you'd known since he was a baby.
Dust broke my heart in this volume more than the first. I got to know his back story and what made him the way he is today.
I was speechless after reading some of the details. Because I didn't want to hope that he came back. Then, I read a few more lines and I can say that I was relieved. Because it would have been far too painful for everyone if what I thought was true.
And just when I thought the action was starting to take a lighter path, at least until they were all together again, a bomb was dropped. I thought I was dreaming too, not just Belle.
I had started to make some connections after Belle was rather brutally restored to some memories.
However, even now I find it hard to believe such a thing.
But the author has a special talent to make me believe something and make something else happen.
Lena pissed me off, but I also felt sorry for her. I felt pity after reading from Ex why what happened, happened.
The first scene since they arrived in the arena I won't be able to get it out of my head. It's like I was there, watching from behind the iron gates. I got chills.
I would say I like where the Ex - Belle relationship is going, but I don't want to get my hopes up anymore. Not after reading the last chapter of this book.
I expected to hear from her. But not the one I got.
So much has happened.
Secrets upon secrets.
Sick games that I read as if I were in the stands, being the only spectator.
More and more dangerous actions.
The past is back, but not in a good way. I don't know what to expect from now on.
I have so many questions. Questions related to Brigitte, Daemon, Steph. And about other characters I didn't expect to "see" again.
The easiest 5 stars I've given in quite a while (and my first 5-star read of the year!!!). I am in awe of how strong and well-developed this sequel was. It encompasses vital plot points for the development of the story and its characters, so it never gave me the feeling of a "transitional" book in the series. We continue following Belle throughout many key moments and we get to see her become even more of a badass FMC than she was in the first book (didn't think it would be possible, but here we are). The pacing was absolute perfection - the plot twists are extremely well timed and make sense, while the "down times" are very necessary in building the tension. At this point, I am so attached to all the characters and the relationships between them that I felt every emotion alongside them (it's hard to thoroughly explain this feeling without giving spoilers haha). All in all, I had the time of my life reading this, so much so that I'm not even that mad about the cliffhanger at the end... Again, huge thanks to A. M. Tufe for allowing me to have an ARC and big congrats; you deserve all the success this series will inevitably have :)
A game of hide and seek by A.M. Tufe AGOHAS, book 2 in Family Affairs series.
ARC Review 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The book begins with the action taking place 3 years away from the first volume. We have chapters from Belle's and Ex’s perspective. In this book we find many answers to the questions we asked ourselves in the first volume. Just like the first book, this one caught me after the first few pages. I went through a lot of emotions along the way, I laughed, I was happy with the characters, but I also got sad and cried. We have many surprising elements and unexpected plot twist! The intimate scenes are amazing!! Everything is built exactly as it should be. Great work with this book! Congratulations for the way you made me feel all with the characters. With your words, you managed to make me feel part of their world! Can't wait for book 3!
Tufe(again) made me finish a book in a day. With fears and questions from the end of the first book, her second novel made my heart jump and jaw drop.
I had a feeling that Bri wasn't actually dead, and their reunion was everything and more. I loved that Ex was mad at Bri and how they made up again(I am a suker for this trope). Also, ofc I wished that Rhune was also alive, but I understand why he isn't and I grive him along with the crew.
The plot had many twists that I loved seing very detailed(I won't tell them, you have to read the book and find out🤭). Tufe's mind really amazed me and I'm so excited to see what she has more.
I know Mixie and Dust will ruin me, but I also know they are very tough cookies.

This is the second book in the “Family Affairs” series, and if the first book was amazing, this one is simply WOW. 🤩 You can feel how the author gained more confidence in her writing.
While the first half of the book feels like a rediscovery of the characters and their world, the second half is packed with action, intensity, and deep emotion. 🥹❤️
I’m eagerly awaiting the third book, as this one ended in such an incredible way! I would also love to delve deeper into other characters and get to know their stories better.😍
Congrats A. M. Tufe for this beautiful masterpice, looking forward to the next book. 😍🤗❤️
I loved this book even more than the first one and I can’t believe I’m saying that because I loved the first book to death. As the story progresses we get to see more of the characters that we loved in AGOT, we get to experience new and even more mortal adventures, we get to love and be happy and hurt. This is a book that makes you feel and I think this is the most important part of it. Ok, maybe not as important as THAT twist but it’s definitely a close second 🤭
4,5 ⭐️ What a rollercoaster! I wanted to read this book in one sitting because it was SO captivating, but life kept interrupting. 🤬
I‘m telling you: if you like dystopian fiction and/or dystopian romances then you HAVE to read this series. It’s so good and there are so many plot twists. It’s amazing!
Keep in mind that this is a trilogy and you must read it in order. The second book ends in a cliffhanger as well.
Here we are again, Book 2 in the Family Affairs Series, Ready to meet the world. Remember, this is a dark dystopian romance and you should make sure to check the trigger warnings, as you might need more than just tissues (reader’s words, not mine) 🤭
All I can say is that this book, the second one from Family Affairs Series had such a plot twist that no one can think about. The characters grew up lovely, they had a huge development and if you read the first book, you will see a big difference, but in the best way possible.
The story is so great, I cried so much so prepare your tissues! The plot line is unbelievably good, I read this book and I was like: wait I finished it? Already?! Reading this book came naturally so if you're not native in english, don't worry because this book and the first one A Game of Trust can be read by everyone!
The relationships in this book are full of tension that you will feel that tension in your body. We have a huge comeback as well so be prepared to have your jaw dropped.
If you are interested in reading this book, then go go go and read A Game of Trust before A Game of Hide and Seek book release!
Now, this was WOW. I love the first one. You can check the review and see how much I loved AGOT, but this one? This one was even better.
I don't know how AM did it, but my God, A game of hide and seek was EVEN BETTER.
The action was non-stop, the character growth was amazing, and the twists and turns were unexpected. You did it, girlie. You did it. You wrote an even better book.
You can see the evolution in everything, writing, characters, action, and world building. Chef's kiss.
This story is the aftermath of what happened at the end of book one, and let me tell you... what an aftermath that was. I am obsessed.
The next book will be spectacular, I can feel it. I can tell because this world is so fascinating and complex that there is no other way.
In this one, we got to experience more mature characters, with more depth and emotion ( even though that was not missing in book one ). We got to see sides of them that made them more human, more lovable, just MORE.
I had my issues with certain characters in book one, but in this one, they surprised me in a good way. They made me maybe love them?
Ehm, ehm, I'm still waiting for a certain thing to happen there. I'm not going to lie, but a girl can only dream and hope.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR BOOK 3 CUZ WHAT THE ... WAS THAT ENDING?
Give me more, NOW!!!!
10/10 - highly recommend
P.S. this is book two of the series and it cannot be read as a standalone, you need to go back to A game of trust and start from there. It's worth it, believe me.
