Drowning. The best description of my life since my mate, Emile, died over a year ago. Struggling to run a business that he made look like child’s play, despite my degree and working side by side with him all those years.
Hiding from the world, my new specialty.
My therapist says it’s time to get out there. To reach out to friends and family. Sadly, I have no family and our friends were mutuals. Seeing them rips the delicate scabs from the wounds I’ve tried to heal. Most of our friends are co-owners of a new club called Cuffed. They call or text, but I am never in the mood to talk, and they respect that.
Emile was so excited about joining. Our lifetime memberships were among the first ones sold, Lifetime membership…his ended before the doors even opened.
I’d received an invitation to the private opening party, but at that point had barely been able to get out of bed—partly why the business was not doing well. A year later, searching through a pile of papers on our home office desk, I find the membership certificate. Emile always planned to have it framed… Suddenly, I picture his face, full lips twisted in disappointment. I told you not to die with me, mate.
I didn’t, but my half-life hardly qualifies as worth living. I have to do something to get out from under the weight of grief at least a little. If only because it was what he would want. When Alex, one of the partners, calls to check on me and suggests I come by the club just for a little socializing, I agree. I can always run home, right?
Such a Lovely Omega is the second book in His Alpha Desires, the highly anticipated M/M Mpreg shifter series by USA Today Bestselling Author Lorelei M. Hart and featuring the members and staff of the hottest new club in town. Such a Good Omega features an alpha club owner who just wants to help his late friend’s mate save his business and live again, an omega who doesn’t want a new mate but can’t stop thinking of him, sweet heat, sizzling heat, new beginnings, healing, true love, fated mates, an adorable baby (or two) and a guaranteed HEA.
Lorelei M. Hart is the cowriting team of USA Today Bestselling Authors Kate Richards and Ever Coming. Friends for years, the duo decided to come together and write one of their favorite guilty pleasures: Mpreg.
I liked how things developed for West and Alex. Even though they were fated, they took some time to build things. I also appreciated their happily ever after.
Stuff I Want To Mention: Public Service Announcement: This series is NOT heavy on spicy scenes. Yes, they are based around characters from a BDSM/Kink club and discuss the Alpha/Dom’s specialties and such but they are hardly, if ever, actually shown on page. There is spice/heat but most occurs off page and on page is not terribly detailed. They are also wolf shifters, but this also seems like just a side mention. Their wolves “speak” to them sometimes/comes across as a feeling but shifting is not a huge part of the story either. These are very short/novellas that I could see turned into full blown books.
In this one, we have Alpha Alex (Dom, Impact Play specialty Not much on page, part owner of club, friends with West/West’s deceased husband) and Omega Rowan (Sub, Widow). We see the following themes throughout the story: fated mates, insta love, mm romance, mpreg, omegaverse, shifters, unrequited love?. There are a lot of things I wish I had clarity on. The writing style is very Lorelei, but lacking something? I am not sure. Not out right horrible or anything, just kind of there. If you are contemplating reading this series, don’t let this deter you, just know to expect less detail than you would expect. I don’t regret reading the series by any means. I liked the story lines and characters, I just wish there was more meat to them.
It can be safely assumed all of my reviews are from books that are 1st Person, have a HEA, and have no intimate or spicy scenes with anyone/thing other than MC(s). I try to rate books objectively if they have something I don’t typically like (i.e. Break Ups, SA, 3rd Person, Single POV, Sharing Partners). If it’s still written well the author deserves the praise but I will make note to avoid for myself in the future. I do my best to mark different triggers/warnings as well as the intimate acts performed in case anything listed/done might not be something you would want to read. If M/M, Age Play, Interspecies, Insta Love, Erotica, MPreg, or Incest are something you actively avoid, you are probably better off avoiding most of the books I review.
DNF: Something off, couldn’t finish because of it. 1 Star: No, thanks. Something super wrong. 2 Stars: Oh that was something but it was not something for me. 3 Stars: Decent, some things didn’t sit or read right but it was worth the effort. 4 Stars: Really enjoyed it, might read again even. 5 Stars: Super duper enjoyed, written well and read well.
I really liked Alex and West together, they made a cute couple and, not to speak ill of the dead (even if it is a fictional character), but Emile seemed like a horrible mate. He may not have been physically abusive, but it definitely seemed like he was emotionally abusive.
Based on the book description. Alex and West did not get together the way I thought they would. The description says that Alex called him and suggested he come to the club for some socializing but that’s not what happened. West’s therapist suggested he talk to someone and Alex was the only person who came to mind that, while also Emile’s friend, he felt like he was his as well so he decided to go to the club and seek Alex out on his own. At this point, they hadn’t spoke or seen each other in over a year, more specifically, at Emile’s funeral.
Now, I have not read book 1 (Talon and Rowan’s story) but this did not feel like a shifter book. The only part of the story where being a shifter came in was with the claiming bites. This actually leads me to a different question. Did Emile never claim West? It wasn’t talked about and Emile was an incredibly neglectful mate to the point where West actually admitted that he had felt invisible to him so i’m having my doubts that Emile had ever officially claimed him otherwise it at least would have been mentioned that he had a scar from Emile’s claiming, right?
Some issues I found with the story that bothered me were;
1: it did not to be a shifter book. It just felt unnecessary since pretty much nothing with their shifter sides really took place and if I’m gonna read a shifter book, than I want the shifter part of it to actually BE a part of it. There are plenty of omegaverse stories with claiming marks that aren’t paranormal that the story would have worked exactly the same without it.
2: I wish that it was just made clear that Emile was either a straight up bad mate or he just badly messed up and hadn’t realized it until it was too late and he was gone. Through the whole story, every time something came up where it seemed like Emile did something that was terrible toward West, it was played off with something like “I guess we’ll never know.” It was a little annoying and felt like it was an excuse to not paint him as the bad guy he so very clearly was.
3: the story moved fairly fast and the epilogue was not an actual epilogue but a sneak peak into the next story. I mean, I don’t mind the sneak peak, but it shouldn’t have been labeled as the epilogue, especially since I felt like their story wasn’t completely over so that was a whole chapter that could have added to it.
4: this is kind of an add on to my numbers 1 and 3, in a way. I don’t see many omegaverse stories with kinks in them so I found it super interesting but it wasn’t really included much, which was kind of a disappointment. There was spanking, which I felt was written well enough, but I read lots of books with spankings so it wasn’t anything special or unique to find in a story, from what I read, it’s one of the most common types of kink so it was a surprise. Finding out West liked Shabari was super interesting and what I would have definitely loved to read more of since I feel like I can never find many MM books with that, especially with it being well written, but there was only one scene and it was super fast and not very detailed, it only took up like 2-3 pages of the book. With how much kink was written in, it really didn’t need to be included into the storyline at all and at this point, Alex could have co-owned any type of super popular business and it wouldn’t have made much a difference.
Overall though, and despite how I know my review sounds, I still think it’s a great read and I still recommend reading it if you have free time or this is the type of story your in the mood for.

West is struggling. Really struggling, he is drowning under the weight of everything he has been left with after the death of his partner, the one who he was certain was his fated mate. Emile did everything including, it soon transpires, not treating West properly and certainly not as he deserved.
West is seriously considering selling up and moving country. He can only think that will solve the issues with paying bills, running the company he was supposed to have been working on with Emile. But, as he is putting away yet more paperwork he discovers the invitation. It is an invite to the opening of a club, run by their Alpha friends that Emile had bought them life membership to. At the urging of his therapist he visits to see the one man he knows he can talk to. Alex.
Alex has realised he is enjoying being part of the group who run the club, in their spare time, after work, but that it is drowning him. All the admin, ordering, paperwork, it means he rarely has time to enjoy his own club. Talon, one of his friends, sees it and knows Alex needs to change his direction before he burns out. When Alex sets eyes on West, who he now realises he should have reached to much sooner, something sparks in him, or as we later learn, reignites. When the pair make their way to Alex's office West is hesitant but he soon realises Alex has his best interests at heart, that he is honest and true and from that moment on everything changes for them both.
Whilst this is part 2 in a series it can be read as a standalone for it is West and Alex's story. It is a beautiful story, it made my heart hurt, learning how West had been treated but it made it soar as Alex became more a part of West's life. Their relationship is true, real and beautiful. I love the way that Lorelei M. Hart takes the time to make sure we know about every aspect of their lives, from the kitchen preparing and eating food to the shower and the bedroom and even the back patio. The story feels wholesome, homely and yet balances that with the perfect amount of steam and hints at even more erotica! I loved it and as a novella it is perfect for a short read.

4.5 starts, rounded up to 5 This is part of a great little mini-series about three single alphas who opened a kink club and how they found their mates. This one has club partner Alex in love with an omega married to his friend. That omega is his fated mate, but he won’t try to break up a marriage, but once the friend dies, the omega is in the back of his mind. He has offered help, but the omega hasn’t taken him up on it, so he just bides his time. When West, the omega, finally reaches out, Alex has hope he can finally have his fated mate for himself. It is a slow courtship, as West is still having problems with feelings about his dead alpha, but his wolf finally convinces him Alex is his fated mate. Then it follows the usual progression with a baby and a growing family. This a sweet, low angst tale with a very intuitive and supportive alpha, an omega who craves attention and validation, and a slowly blossoming love with a sweet baby and a HEA for our pair. Very realistic, relatable characters, with West’s conflicted feelings after his alpha’s death ringing true to experiences in my life also, having lost my spouse. There is one more alpha kink club owner left to find his fated mate in this series, and I am looking forward to it. I find Lorelei Hart’s books interesting and entertaining, usually great short reads.

Gotta love those first steps. I am not okay. West, is still mourning his husband Emile's death. They were in business together and as in private life, Emile took care of everything. So, after Emile's passing, West is a bit helpless and unaware of the everyday details of life and business. He is drowning. Emile had purchased a lifetime membership in the BDSM club Cuffed. He was trying to introduce West into the lifestyle and was friends with the owners. Alex, is one of the Cuffed co-owners. His specialty as a CPA, is logistics. He relizes he's let his business take control of his life and he has no personal life. Talon, his business partner and friend motivates him to rethink his professional workload. West is triggered into doing further soul searching about how he lost himself. He remembered Alex as being one of Emile's friends ho had been kind to him. When West seeks out Alex, a connection is felt. This is an amazing story of connection, communication and freeing one's mind to air out the soul. There's a lot of self assement, insight and growth by both men. Good story, sweet and sensitive. Both West and Alex are remarkable men. Great story, I am loving this series. Nicely done. I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. Next up in the series is Alex. Alex is an alpha that is a partner in the business venture, Cuffed. Alex was ready to settle down. He thought Cuffed would provide him a way to act out his desires. Unfortunately Cuffed has become a bigger job than Alex thought it would be. Alex is in a downward spiral with no way out until West walks into Cuffed.
West’s mate, Emile, passed away six moths ago and he is drowning. West was not involved with the finances and now everything is falling on him to take care of. West didn’t really have any friends either. Their friends were alphas and more Emile’s friends than his. He could sure use someone to talk to.
West decides to go to Cuffed to talk to Alex. Alex was happy and surprised to see West. Alex liked West and was drawn to him. West enjoyed being in the presence of an alpha again. Has there been enough time since Emile’s death for West to be attracted to someone else? West certainly did not believe that was the case. Readers will work through both West and Alex’s feelings to see what happens. Will these two overcome the fears that are keeping them apart? Up next is Bronson. I can’t wait to see how another alpha gets his HEA. Loving this series.
3,5/4-* I did like how gentle and honest and open Alex, a cpa and club co owner, is with West. I appreciate how he lifts up West and all he is and can be. West is grieving the loss of his mate/ husband/ partner. Who through the storytelling in this novella turns out to have been manipulatieve and neglectfull to him. West needs to find the tools to overcome adapt and find a new way of being and is finally ready to reach out to Alex who he remembers as being gentle and a friend to the both of them. Alex recognizes West as his mate, but is very careful to put that into words.Actions speak louder in this case. This is an mm shifter mpreg with some apive and a dash of kink. However the wolfs are not very present in this story, more a mention off. That is one thing I think I would have liked to have gotten a larger platform in this story. Ofcourse this is a Lorelei M. Hart story so there is a hea/ hfn with a babe at the end.

This was an amazing story with wonderful characters, especially Axel. He was so incredibly patient, kind, giving, understanding, loving, giving, protective, Dominant and extremely sexy. West lost his Alpha 2 years prior and was struggling. When he arrived at Cuffed (looking nervous and out of place), Alex stepped in. From there I loved how Alex quietly look charge of things. West was a nervous and hesitant mess, honestly he was. He had good reason, though talking to Alex might have helped.
Readers get a great deal of insight into the characters through internal monologs, and some through discussion. There's a balance between the 'show me' and the 'tell me' aspects of the book, which I greatly appreciated. This was a fabulous follow-up to Such a Good Omega (book 1). I'm looking forward to book 3!!
I received a gift copy of this book and voluntarily provided this review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
This is the second book in His Alpha Desires but it can be enjoyed as a standalone read. This is the story of West and Alex. West is an omega who has lost his husband. The grief and sense of loss has overwhelmed him. His husband handled their business and all of life's paperwork. Realizing he can't go on like this, his counselor tells him that he needs to connect and talk with some. So the only friend he can think of is Alex. Alex is an alpha and part owner of Cuffed. When Alex sees West at the club he rescues him from another alpha. The two go to his office for a quiet talk. Realizing that West is touch starved, when Alex hugs him he realizes that West is his fated mate. This is their story. The book is written well and is easy to read. I liked that Alex gave West the time he needed to slowly heal and let their relationship grow at West's speed. I enjoyed this book.

'Why in the heII did Alex make me feel more alive in those twenty minutes than I had been in years?'
I really enjoyed this book. It was a sweet romance. After omega West's alpha husband died, he stopped living. Between grieving and isolating himself, he's now struggling to take care of bills and keep their business afloat, as it was what Emile usually took care of. Memberships to Cuffed was something Emile was excited for, but they never made it. He feels lost even in himself and decides to push himself to see a friend- Alex- who owns the club Emile had been so excited to join. Alex had always been attracted to West, knew he was his mate, but since he was married to his friend, he pushed it down. Now the chemistry between them burned. Alex was exactly what West needed, but is still working through emotions and processing. Alex is patient and sweet though and will do anything to take care of his omega. A sweet read. 4 stars
I love this series! The owners of Cuffed are getting their happily ever afters one by one and this time it’s Alex’s turn. He gets his happy ending with West, an omega who was mated to one of his friends, Emile. West has struggled since Emile’s death and it will take a comment from his doctor to send him to Cuffed in search of Alex. The moment Alex sees him, he knows West is suffering but he also knows West is his mate. Alex will do everything he can to care for and protect West while letting West take things at his own pace. It is tough for West at first but I love how he is able to let go of the past and embrace the wonderful future he is given with Alex. These are amazing stories and I can’t wait to read what comes next!.

This was book 2 in the "His Alpha Desires" series. West is drowning in his grieve his mate died almost a year ago leaving him unable to remember to pay his bills and he is barely keeping the business afloat when his therapist suggested that start reaching out to friends remembers that he has a membership to the club. Alex is one of the owners of the club he was also friends with West's late mate Emile and he has always known that West was his fated mate. This was a good read I felt bad for West his former Alpha really did a number on him telling him what to wear and what to eat he wasn't nice to him. I really liked Alex he was kind and patient with West. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
This was a great story of loss of a mate and the grief of the omega left behind and his finding love again in a better mate and lover. West has been struggling with grief and the everyday struggles of aging bills and running his husband’s business, until he is told to talk to a friend. Alex has loved West for a long time, even before he mated his husband. No West is available, Alex can finally claim his fated mate. This story was a quick read, but every page was full of action that kept me interested until the very last page. There is a happy ending but then the epilogue begins the next story in the series.

West’s mate died and he was having to learn what Emile had been doing but felt overwhelmed then found the lifetime membership to a club Cuffed was told that they needed more variety in their bed. Emile hasn’t wanted West for a long while. West was told to get out and get friends he decided to go to the club and talks to Alex about everything happening. Alex is one of the owners taking care of the supplies he thought that West was doing ok so stayed away. Alex helps West with the accounting so the business got better and Alex realized that his friend Emile wasn’t what he portrayed. Things worked out.

West lost his Alpha Emile and is just scrapping by. He stops by Cuffed to find Alex, a friend of Emile's, and they start seeing each other. West feels guilty. Alex has always thought West was his fated mate. West questions having another fated mate although his wolf senses it. West cancels a breakfast date due to a stomach bug. Alex is suspicious and confirms the West's scent has changed. Once a test confirms that West is pregnant he admits to Alex that they are mates. West slowly adapts to a kind alpha who just wants to love him. They move into Alex's house, have a cub, and live HEA.

I loved Such a Lovely Omega Book 2 of His Alpha Desires. West is still coming to terms with the death of nis mate but he needs a friend, he reaches out to Alex. Alex knew West was his mate when they met years ago but he was already mated so he kept his distance. Now he’s finding out about West’s relationship and he’s wishing he had done more but now he’s going to claim his omega. I loved the story and the characters. West is sweet and loving, his alpha Alex is everything he always wanted in a relationship. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.

Just a little bummed that I didn't get to read the first book in these series because it appears this series leaning towards the kinks that I really enjoy reading. Such a Lovely Omega as Emile in mourning of his dead husband and is lost...has no purpose. Once he gets an invite from one of his husband old friends inviting him to a kink club, everything turns around for Emile. He has a second chance with love and exploring his kinky side with his alpha Alex. Not too much shifting which was a bummer but other than that, I really enjoyed their journey to HEA. Can't wait for the next one in the series.

Heartfelt and tender, Such a Lovely Omega follows an omega's journey through grief after losing his mate, Emile. Lorelei M. Hart beautifully captures the struggle of moving forward while honoring the past. The slow-building romance between the grieving omega and a compassionate alpha feels authentic, offering both emotional depth and sweet hope.
With its mix of fated mates, healing, and a touch of Mpreg joy, this shifter romance is a comforting read for fans of the genre. A touching story about loss, love, and second chances with a guaranteed HEA.

Book 2 is another great read featuring Alex and West. Alex is one of the Alpha partners of the BDSM Club, Cuffed and West is a lonely widowed Omega. The Authors give enough detail for you to understand how lonely West is even in his previous marriage before his husband died and how Alex saw West in the earlier years. It’s a sad, sweet, adorable love story between two shifters who have either sworn off relationships or just didn’t feel like being bothered. The Authors put in real life situations like losing a mate, getting into another relationship, being confused, among other things. I give this a 5 star ⭐️ rating. Really enjoyed this book 💜
West has spiraled so far and as soon as he reconnects with West, who is a friend of his mate who passed away, things start to fall into place. He can't help compare Alex to Emile, however Alex comes out on top because Emile was not such a good partner. Alex has wanted West since he saw him but respected that he was married to his friend. Once he gets his chance he takes things slowly to make sure he doesn't scare his fated mate away. It's a sweet romance with a huge baby bump. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This was a bit of an unexpected read for me. When I saw a new release by this author I grabbed it without reading the blurb, something I never do, and didn’t realize until starting it that it included BDSM. That’s not really something I’m interested in and that didn’t change with this one but I have to say, I loved how tender and caring Alex was to West. For regular readers of this genre, if I enjoyed it when it’s not where my interest lies, you’re gonna LOVE it. For myself though, 4 stars!.

This is book two in the series and we are back at the cuffed club and this time we have part owner Alex”s story, West is the widower of an old friend of Alex’s and when he meets him again early a year after his friends death he wants to help him sort out his business and finances but they also really connect with each other and start a relationship and Alex realises his friend may not have been the person he thought he was. Good read.
West had been a widow for almost a year and was barely holding on. He was grounding in his day-to-day responsibilities as well as running his business. His psychiatrist recommended that he reach out to a friend of his former mates named alex. When you showed up at the club to see Alex it wasn't long before Alex realized that West was his fated mate.

West and Alex were beautiful together. I loved how Alex showered him with affection and love. It became apparent that West’s previous mating was all sunshine and roses because the poor guy was attention and affection starved.

Well written story and well developed characters. Those are the most important things, to me, in a book. Each of these books are about different couples but all of the alphas are owners of the same club. You will have a better experience if you read them in order. Loved them so far and can't wait to read the next one!
West couldn't understand why Emile couldn't love him when he was alive. He felt no one could love him. Alex was attracted to West but West was mated to his friend. West gets in touch with Alex to help him figure out his finances and they realize there's something more than frisndship. I really enjoyed this book.
Grief is such a difficult emotion. It can go in all different directions. This book tugged at my heartstrings. I had to keep reading. I am curious for the next book in the series because the first two were awesome.
