Fallen Brook #2

Paper Stars Rewritten

Rate this book
A shattered past. A forgotten love. And a future rewritten.

It’s been over a year since my world changed forever. After waking up thousands of miles from home, I was forced to start over, guided by scars I didn’t recognize. It hasn’t been easy, especially when life keeps pulling me toward a past I can’t fully grasp.

Now, a twist of fate has brought me back, thrusting me into a world I don’t remember. At college, I run into Ryder—someone who swears he knew me before, someone whose eyes spark a connection I can’t explain. Then there’s Jayson, whose pain and anger cut through me like shards of a forgotten past. And Fallon, the enigmatic playboy who shouldn’t make sense in my new life but somehow does.

They all want pieces of the girl I used to be. But I’m not her anymore.

If life offers you a second chance at love, how hard will you fight for it? My story is far from over—and this time, I’m writing it my way.

This newly revised version of book two in the Fallen Brook series is a second-chance, friends-to-lovers, college romance full of angst and emotion. It has updated content, is told in multiple POVs, and ends on a cliffhanger. Please check for potential TWs in the front matter of the book.

Review of Paper Stars Rewirtten by Jennilynn Wyer
* * * * *
It's only the middle of the series and it still delivers the hype and crazy and super steamy! How can their still be so much drama?

Jay, Julien and Ryder thought they had lost their princess.
One year ago, fter finding her in a pool of blood, her loved ones butchered and a killer on the loose, they could not find any trace of her being alive. She had disappeared without a trace.
Until, she is seen walking around their campus.
Same face. Same name. No memory.
She had facts and very little idea of who else was part of her past. Julien and Ryder are doing their best to help, but Jay is a tidal wave of need and loss. He wants his girl back, but all he is doing is freaking her the hell out. Plus, her attraction is directed elsewhere.
Ryder's feelings have never died down. He still loves his platinum blonde haired princess, and now, she loves him wholey as well.
Secrets are being kept from one another, while others are being discovered. Painful secrets that make haunting scars more painfuly than anyone could realise. The danger is still out there. With Liz's returning memory, who will she turn to?

Epic twists. MULTIPLE! More betrayals. More secrets. Intense emotions running high! A serious breach of relationship lines everywhere! Julien is having trouble with Elijah, Jay will not let go of Liz, Liz and Ryder doing what both wanted a year ago.
I cannot wait to get to the final book and see what the hell happens!

This is book two of the Fallen Brook series and I had to dive into it immediately after the cliff hanger at the end of book one.

This is a continuance of Liz, Jayson, Ryder and Julien’s love story. Jennifer did an amazing job of bringing in almost bizarre scenarios that made me question whether it was believable or not, just to neatly tie up some sort of loose end or looming unresolved manner in the best way possible.

I loved that Liz followed her feelings and didn’t allow certain boys to push her around and make her feel something she wasn’t feeling. I liked the drastic change in personality and feel it was the perfect twist needed to carry on her story.

I love the new characters/friends made at college and they add a lot of fun to the more serious of storylines. In full honesty I was NOT impressed with the cliffhanger at the end - BUT - that is because I was getting myself emotionally invested in a different turn in the story that I had convinced myself was coming.

I am so excited for the conclusion of story and am anxious to see how this weird twist plays out!

Great work again, Jennifer.

A Girl with Amnesia. A Relationship Ends A New One Begins.. Plus Tragedy.

This is the second book story of four friends.
Jayden, Ryder, Julian, and Elizabeth.

A Princess and her Princes.

In this book takes place almost a year after, all having left High School for Carolina University.

However.

After the traumatic events the happened in the last few chapters of the previous book, things have taken a shift of epic proportions.

Elizabeth, suffering from amnesia, is unaware that she is attending the same Uni, as her childhood friends.
One, Jayden being her boyfriend.

The guys have no idea that Elizabeth is there, after having a PI search for her when she disappeared from the hospital,

Until...she across paths with Ryder.
This first meeting between the two brings back memories of lust and love.
Although from Elizabeth’s POV she doesn’t understand why, as she has no memory of him.

Throughout the book the Elizabeth and the guys slowly reconnect.
With a big,..BIG difference.
Now, she is with Ryder...

Jayden, at first, comes on too strong, scaring Elizabeth.
This only pushes her towards Ryder more.

You are always waiting for for him to explode....And he does.

The tension is palpable.

Of course this all takes place around the backdrop of the harrowing circumstances of the previous book.

Elizabeth is still be living under a threat from the assailant who attacked her family.

There are also two new characters are introduced.
Trevor (Fallon’s half older brother) and Elizabeth’s new bestie. Meredith.

So while Elizabeth comes to terms with her memory slowly returning, what will it mean for her new relationship With Ryder?
And what about Jayden?
Will his wish come true that once Elizabeth remembers she will be his again?

This is a great second book in this series.
There are good character developments for everyone.
Looking forward to starting the third.

so freaking emotional right now!

I just finished reading the second book and I gotta say I'm kinda at a stalemate on which way the wind is fixing to blow. I'm definitely hoping for a reverse harem style of ending but if not possible then, me being the stubborn way I am, hopes that Jayson gets his girl back. I know Ryder is a good guy and has a legit reason why he was upset but I feel he was more than underhanded in the way he chose to go about getting the girl when the tables turned. I feel like poor Jules feeling we're kinda shoved on the backburner due to the notion that he is bi and has been in his relationship for some time now ( to which was pointed out numerous times that both are fully aware that he was in love with the MC). And just to throw more irons in the fire, we have yet another guy and his half brother that has an infatuation with her. I totally hate cliff hanger endings but inexplicably addicted to then to. Jennilyn certainly knows how to being out the feels and torture for more within her work.

holy goodness.

Choices, past and present, follow us thruout our entire lives. Even when we don’t remember. Even when it hurts too much. What would you do if you woke up and remembered…nothing about your life. Your family is dead, you barely survived…and then you find the boys that grew up to be men…but they aren’t yours anymore…because your life is a black hole.

Every choice that Elizabeth makes causes something to happen: a memory triggered, someone possibly hurt, but there’s nothing she can do because this broken, strong, trauma stricken girl doesn’t remember. She doesn’t remember who she loved before and what anything means from before. This book has a lot of truth bombs dropped, Elizabeth has nightmares that follow her now that her brain is trying to get her to remember. She makes unlikely alliances….and choices that hurt others. Life is hard, and you love who you love. There’s nothing you can do but forge your own path and hope that they’re the right ones.

I am soo in love with this series!

Jennilynn has done such a phenomenal job creating the world that surrounds this awesome series .All Our Next Times was just Fantastic. This is the second installment in the fallen brook series , and i am just loving it . I don’t want to say to much about that series because it will really spoil , this amazing story truly believe you need to read for your self . I guarantee you will not be disappointed. What I can say is this book is even better then the first one . This is the continuation of the journey for these four friends and it is not a easy one .Elizabeth Is drawn to each of these men , the question is which one is the man for her . Your heart will break , you will find yourself picking favorites between these 3 very unique men . This is a perfect blend of love , joy and broken hearts . You will be on the edge of your seat throughout the whole entire story. There are many twists , turns and curveballs , just when you think you know what’s going to happen , well let’s just say . It’s not that simple

So Many Hot Guys in One Place

Book two did not disappoint! There was plenty of heartache, happy times, and spicy times!

We are back in the love triangle of Liz, Ryder, and Jayson. Both men love her and are trying to win her heart for good. Elizabeth is trying to figure out who she is now, and not be forced to be a ghost of her former self. I love the new friendship of Liz and Meredith. She is the comedic relief needed. After more truth bombs are dropped, we are left with another amazing cliffhanger.

I liked seeing Jules speak up for himself more in regards to the past, his feelings and relationship with Liz, and how his brother pretty much forced everyone out. Cause he did, Jayson wanted to Liz all to himself.

I have so many questions now, and I’m hoping book three answers them. Please check trigger warnings.

Paper Stars Rewritten by Jennilynn Wyer picks up right where All Our Next Times left off. With such a cliffhanger on book 1, I was frantic to find out what happened next.

Book 2 was just as good as book 1. It starts up in their college years and nothing was what I had predicted. Jennilynn Wyer is a master at twists and turns. The surprises in this book had me shocked. No more like electrocuted!

Wow, the love triangle gets so much more complicated and heartbreaking. The emotions felt are much more powerful as the story moves on. The storyline will have you gripping with anticipation and intrigue.

Lizzie's journey to adulthood is thought provoking. Her self discovery is real.

It's been an incredible adventure so far. The ride is bumpy with sharp turns that have you dizzy with sentiment and wonder.

This is a definite 5 🌟read for me.

Fallen Brook series

Wow what an incredible story these teenagers go through a lot especially Elizabeth their characters are very well thought out they stay true to themselves throughout the series not changing like in other series
The love they have for each other comes through the pages it does have a good amount of angst and that comes through to in the beginning I thought Jason and Elizabeth were incredible together but I did see how he pushed her into the relationship after book 2 we know who the one she loves is so that just leaves who saves her and I hope all the things that her sister went through makes sense in the third book which I’m about to start now. Can I also say what I enjoyed about this series is besides a synopsis the characters didn’t constantly repeat the story things came back and memories just as they were but the story was not repeated over and over like so many series tend to do too

Dear Lord! Jesus take Wheel! I’m a mess right now. Jennilynn Wyer ... I want to write books like you when I grow up. Jennilynn Wyer continued taking me on an emotional Rollercoaster that I can’t seem to get off. My mind tells me to jump off and run. But my heart keeps telling me to stay on this crazy ride until the end. Paper Stars Rewritten made me cry and ugly Oprah cry. Ugh But it was worth every single year. I need another box of tissues for book 3! I’m still bouncing back and forth between Team Jayson, than Team Ryder and even Team Julien at one point. I’m so heartbroken for them all. Someone save me!

This is the second book of a three book series revolving around Elizabeth and her men. I have to say I enjoy this one a bit more than the first only because I’m (team Ryder). While I don’t quite understand how she can only remember parts of her life with just Ryder , I do enjoy her making a new life for herself. This book like the first definitely leaves you with a cliff hanger that made me go right into reading the last book. My only negative was how many guys were into her and I mean all the ones outside of her normal three, I was just getting to be too much.

I was hooked from the very beginning. If I thought book 1 was an emotional rollercoaster ride, I’m not sure what to say about this one. This book topped the first one. We pick up a year later in their college years. The guys are finally reunited with Elizabeth. Again we see and learn the different personalities of Ryder, Jayson and Julien. Very eye opening and also confirms what I’ve been thinking about two out of the three guys. Again the plot and characters are well developed and easily relatable. We also start to interact with Fallon a little more and getting a look inside at his deep dark secrets. Who does she pick to love? You’ll need to read it to find out!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book.

so good

It’s so good I don’t know who I want to root for. I love them all and this ending makes me want even more. The build up to her breakthrough and the secrets and truths uncovered made this an amazing story.

Continuing the story of childhood friends Elizabeth, Jayson, Julien & Ryder, the second book in the Fallen Brook series kicks off immediately after the cliffhanger of book #1. Now at college we get to meet new characters along the way. I’m excited for the conclusion in book #3.

Woke up this morning to be the first to read the second book in the FB series. I loved the first book, but holy moly! Paper Stars Rewritten blew me away on a whole other level! I love the story and the characters and how the author keeps you guessing about what's going to happen. I also love how Fallon is now making his presence known in a major way into the storyline. But I have admit, Ryder is still my favorite for Elizabeth. Can't wait to see what happens in book 3.

can I give more than 5 stars. If so I would.
WOW!! I thought Book 1 "All Our Next Times" was fantastic, this is the next installment.
This one has surpassed my heart and broke it in two. I have tears of hope, joy, love, and broken heart.the intimacy and love is phenomenal. Steamy sex scenes makes you feel as if you were right there.
Just when I thought I knew where this would go I was thrown a curveball. What will happen to elizabeth and her 3 princes.
1 loves with all his heart. 1 loves and is the peacemaker. 1. loves and wants to conquer no matter who it hurts

I am so excited for the epic conclusion that book 3 "Broken Butterfly's" will have, I am Team Ryder all the way I hope you are too.

My true belief is that when an author can bring out emotions while reading that they are a prodigious...(hope i used that word correctly) wordsmith.
The feelings that are invoked are immeasurable.
I love the use of synonyms for everyday words, like amazing...i will admit that sometimes I have to look them up to make sure that I know the meaning. Don't stop I wouldn't change a thing they keep my mind open to new possibilities.

I have so much to say and so much I don't want to give away.

I have loved the fallenbrook story of Julien, Jayson, Ryder and Elizabeth so much that when getting to read this new version with subtle changes that my heart is so full of the love and tears that have been shared.

I am looking forward to both book 3 and 4.

Jennilynn has you sitting on the edge of your seat throughout the whole book.
The story continues with Ryder, Jayson & Julien in college. Elizabeth has disappeared and they have no idea where she went after the accident.
Elizabeth has lost all her memories and is starting a new life at college but will her past catch up to her.
Ryder bumps into her and things take a twist in their lives. All four of them reconnect but things are very different.
The author has your heart beating so fast with the twists she throws at you. You think that one thing is going to happen but it doesn't.
You know a book is well written when you feel every emotion that the characters feel. Be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster but believe me it is worth the ride. A definite addition to anyone's TBR list.

4.5 ⭐

After waking up from a 2 month coma, Elizabeth has lost all of her memories. She can't remember the horrific tragedy that she was the soul survivor of, she can't remember if anyone love or cared for her, and she absolutely can't remember the four men who would do anything for her are. Elizabeth is thrown back into her past when Ryder, Jayson, Julien, and Elijah run into her at college. She tries to piece together the past while paving a path forward, as she is no longer the girl she used to be.

This book is perfect for those that enjoy stories with:
✨ amnesia trope
✨ second chance romance
✨ love triangles
✨ possessive MMCs
✨ thriller / mystery
✨ college setting
✨ betrayals / plot twists

Before diving into Paper Stars Rewritten, it’s essential to have read the first book, All Our Next Times, which is part of the Fallen Brook Trilogy. I should also warn you that Jennilynn Wyer has a knack for leaving her readers with shocking cliffhangers; she did it with the first book of the trilogy, and she certainly does it again in the second. I thought the cliffhanger in the first book was intense, but Jennilynn raises the stakes even higher in this installment.

Jennilynn Wyer picks up where she left off in the first book. The main character, Liz, now has amnesia following the events of book one, which means she doesn’t remember her friends and boyfriend from before the incident. Her best friends, Ryder, Jayson, and Julien have missed Liz dearly and even hired a private investigator to locate her after she went missing from the hospital. When they discover that she is attending college with them, they are determined to reconnect with her. Unfortunately, they learn that she has no memories of them. However, this doesn’t deter them from wanting to support Liz; they understand that they need to be patient, as she is no longer the same person they once knew. It’s going to be a long road for all the characters, and in the meantime, Liz is having nightmares of the person who harmed her and unalived her family, and she knows she’s close to finding out who it is if only she can remember that day.

I don’t want to delve too deeply into the storyline for fear of spoiling it for anyone who hasn’t read the first book. However, I will say that Jennilynn Wyer shocked me at the end of book one, and I was eager to see where the story would lead, especially with Liz having amnesia. I was pleased that Ryder played a major role in Liz’s life in this book. This time, he has a chance with her instead of Jayson. Ryder is such a sweetheart, and I loved that he didn’t pressure Liz; he understood that she wasn’t the same as before. While I may be Team Ryder, that doesn’t mean I don’t like Jayson as well. He has some good qualities, too. He just needs to cool it on controlling things, especially Liz.

This book left me hanging when it came to figuring out who actually hurt Liz. There were hints during her nightmare scenes with the flashbacks, but I’m just as confused as Liz. I need to know who did this to her. Additionally, Jennilynn ended book two with another cliffhanger. This time, Liz seeks help from someone I never expected her to turn to, but I have to remember that she doesn’t recall this person before what happened to her.

I trust Jennilynn Wyer and the direction she’s taking the story. I hope that everyone gets a HEA in the third book, and I also hope Liz discovers who hurt her. Overall, this is another great installment, and I give it four out of five stars. I can’t wait for the third book; I need it like yesterday!

Single/Dual/Multi-POV: Multi POV

Standalone or Part of Series: It’s the second book in the Fallen Brook Trilogy and needs to be read in order.

It's the sequel, and it's Ryder's turn, FINALLY! As a #TeamRyder girlie myself, I absolutely devoured this book. After the cliffhanger of book one, this book showed almost like the alternate reality of what Elizabeth could have had if she had chosen Ryder. And it is STEAMY! 🔥🥵 But, like I did for my review for Book 1, I have to respond to each of the important men in Elizabeth's life individually:

Jayson- oh, how the turn tables. But I get it, my guy, I really do. You were her first, well, everything! But I think that gives you a sense of entitlement when it comes to finding her again- you believe you are owed something by her, because she "was" your girlfriend. And you are hopelessly, crazily, happily in love! But I think you are trying to force the new Elizabeth to fit in the mold you created for your lives together- one, through her experiences, she might not fit anymore.

Julien- if I could make you hear my sigh from across the pages, I would. I want to shake some sense into you! Yes, Elizabeth has come back; with that, you can start to make new memories and experiences. I love that you let her reveal what she wants, when she wants to. But, boy, Elijah is your MAN. Do not let Elizabeth's love trifecta get in the way of that. This entire story you said you didn't want to get involved, and yet you still do out of some sense of playing peacemaker! Elizabeth is a tough girl, she can handle more than you think.

Ryder- go get your girl (enough said). 😘

This series has grabbed me by the neck and won't let go, it's that good! And the emotional turmoil has nearly broken me too many times to count, but call me a masochist because I keep. coming. back😂 The cliffhanger, yet again, kept me awake with heart palpitations for a good couple of hours (my 4:30am wake-up this morning did NOT appreciate that!) and I still need to know much more about Fallon👀 I've been saying it from Book 1...🤭
