’Tis the season for more holiday shenanigans in the newest Holiday with a Hitman story…

She’s just trying to keep her farm running and her llamas out of trouble…

Scout isn’t sure what to do with the stranger who showed up on her farm carrying a bag of cash and weapons—so she orders her llama to knock him out. But when her nasty neighbor shows up trying to cause trouble, the stranger takes over and keeps her safe so she figures she can trust him enough. If only he wasn’t so sexy and distracting…

He’s a hitman looking for redemption…

The last thing Hudson remembers is being on a job. Then he wakes up in a strange bed with a lump on his head, wearing llama pajama pants that are just a little too tight. And oh yeah, there’s an angry-looking llama watching him through an open window. As a lethal hitman, he immediately starts calculating how to get out of his current situation—until the most gorgeous woman he’s ever seen walks through the door. The idea of sticking around suddenly doesn’t seem so bad. And when it’s clear someone wants to hurt her, he decides that they’ll have to go through him—if only he can convince her to trust him. After that, he’s going to convince her to spend forever with him. And that’s going to take a Christmas miracle.

Thank you to the publisher for providing this book for review purposes via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

As soon as I saw the cover for this book I knew I wanted to read it, the blurb convinced me that I should read it and so I did - I was not disappointed. Scout’s three llamas Lucy, Patricia and Clover stole the page whenever they appeared, particularly Lucy and I loved the bond she had with them. It was a case of being lost and at the wrong place for our dear hitman Hudson when he finds himself on Scout’s farm and is promptly knocked out by Lucy, the llama pyjamas he finds himself wearing lol. Scout was quite sweet, Hudson was very protective and he sensed she was in trouble so decided to stick around. The chemistry between these two was off the charts, it makes steam look cool.

Overall I really enjoyed this book, it was a cosy romance with an interesting twist and with added danger and suspense, also it was set around Christmas. I enjoyed the authors writing and I think this book was really well written, I don’t have anything negative to say about this book. If you’re looking for a Christmas romance to sink your teeth into, I’d recommend this one.

I love this series! So many Christmas books are of the too sweet, improvable romance type. These stories have a romance, but they are far from sweet. Although I must admit to having a cringe or two about the Hitman profession, I love that these guys have standards and vet their jobs thoroughly. Hudson is a born warrior and protector. At first, he tries to solve Scout's problem without resorting to the ultimate problem solver, but isn't about to let her, or her girls, be harmed. Scout sees a strong, caring man with a lot of secrets he isn't willing to share with her and that makes her cautious. Trust isn't something she is giving away freely, but Hudson is determined to win her over.

Hudson wakes up with a pounding head in a pair of llama print pajama bottoms several sizes too small with the most beautiful woman he has ever seen pointing a rifle at him. How did a careful Hitman get in this position?

Scout is a woman alone trying to run her farm and care for her girls, the llama's Lucy, Clover and Patricia. She has been having some problems with vandalism which the local law is ignoring and that is why she let Lucy take Hudson out. She has no idea what to do with him, his handsome face, gorgeous body or his bag of cash and weapons.

Hudson proved to be quite useful when her nasty neighbors appear trying to strongarm her into selling a portion of her land. Scout thinks he could be quite useful, if she can trust him. Hudson is smitten and as Scout is in some kind of trouble, he isn't going anywhere until he can be sure she is safe, and maybe not even then.

My thanks to the Publisher and Author for providing a complimentary digital Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this novel via NetGalley. This is my fair, honest and personal review. All opinions are mine alone and were not biased in any way.

All I Want for Christmas is a Hitman by Katie Reus
Holiday With a Hitman series #3. Romantic comedy. Can be read as a stand-alone.
Hudson wakes up in a strange bed, tied to the bedposts. Not necessarily an unusual event but he doesn’t remember how he got there or why his head hurts. Or why there is an angry llama at the window. Turns out the beautiful woman that owns the farm ordered her llamas to attack him. As he assures her he was only looking for work, and then realizes she’s having problems with vandals, his instincts to protect are raised. Something he didn’t even know he had! But protect her, he will. Even if it means bringing his Hitman skills into play.

Oh so amusing. He falls hard and isn’t quite sure what to do about his spinning head. He can’t resist her, nor does he want to! Yes, he’s clearly on the morally gray side of the profession. But the storyline is entertaining with llamas, lust, and pesky land fights that threaten his woman. Which he will not tolerate.
Love the series, the men, the laughs and even the fantastic chapter headings. A light version of morally gray.
Perfection.

I absolutely loved All I Want for Christmas is a Hitman. This book was a bang, from the pretty cover and the amusing title, to the very storyline and the holidays theme.

Hudson is a hitman, he finds himself on a farm where the very beautiful farmer, Scout, is threatened by her neuighbours. So he decides to stay and protect her, her lanf, and her menacing, at times, llamas.

Scout and Hudson are the true opposites that attract: she is kind and naif, he is confident and worldly, together they are attractive. I've liked to see how Scout and her boisterous girls (llamas) little by little made havoc in to Hudson's heart.

Katie Reus did a great job with this story, it was humorous, suspenseful, addicting, spicy.
I adored to be on this adventure along these characters, and even if it was the first time I read this author, I can't wait to get more of her books.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for kindly giving me an advanced copy of this book to read.

This was not only fun, flirty and spicy, it was Charming with a capital C! Scout and Hudson immediately swept me up into their world and I didn’t want to say goodbye to them for a single moment. Their chemistry, full of spark yet wonderfully natural, gave me that perfect mix of sweetness and heat that I love in a holiday romance.

I especially loved how the suspense and mystery added just enough tension to keep things intriguing without ever overshadowing the heart of the story. Everything came together with such an easy flow that I found myself smiling through entire scenes. This was a festive, feel-good read that left me feeling warm, happy, and wishing there were more pages to enjoy.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review.

All IWant For Christmas Is a Hitman is the third book in the Holiday with a Hitman series, and I think this is my favourite so far!
Hudson is a professional hitman, and when he wakes up tied up after being knocked out, he's very confused as to who's got the jump on him. When Scout tells him it was her llama after thinking he's a threat, he's a little embarrassed. When he escapes his binds and discovers Scout being threatened by a neighbouring farmer, Hudson steps in to help her.
This is such a sweet, cute, funny, and heartwarming read with a good little twist and a dash of spice to seal the deal.

Debating between 4 and 5 but I’m going with marking it as 5 stars for now.

It took me way too long to finish this book cause I had barely any reading time 😬
Truthfully it’s a one-two evenings tops kind of read.
It starts pretty silly, like “oh it’s a silly little romance book with, yes, a hitman and llamas as secret star characters” and while there are quite some silly little funny moments, it’s much more than that.
There’s tension - the romantic kind, and the… murdery type 😅
It’s was my first book by this author but certainly not the last! I plan to catch up with the rest of the hitman series.

Oh and the llamas really are an extra main characters.
Oh oh and the chapter titles !!!!!!
Read this book for the llamas and chapter titles, I’m telling you!

❄️All I want for Christmas is a hitman, Katie Reus
188 pagini

❄️Posibile spoilere!

This was a very quick and easy read that was perfect for the holidays.

We get to meet FMC Scout who lives on her own running a "llama" farm after her grandfather passes away. She is pretty overwhelmed with all of the responsibilities and thinking about putting out an ad for help.

It just so happens that our MMC Hudson is lost, looking for a different property and somehow gets knocked out by the head llama Lucy. Yep, you read that right - Lucy is the llama in charge. There is lots of llama drama in this book.

So, he gets knocked out and tied up (long story....), but after some discussion ends up staying to help her out for the season.

It just so happens that someone is after Scout and since Hudson has a profession and skills that Scout is not aware of (he is a hitman) - he calls some friends in to help with the situation.

This is just a really simple and fun story. Not too much angst, but with lots of action. This is one of those stories that you just don't think too much about the actual circumstances, and everything is okay.

Thank you to NetGalley and KR Press, LLC for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. This book will be out for publication on December 2, 2025.

I'd recommend this if you are in the mood for a mild spice level holiday story about a hitman who wakes up in a strange woman's bed after being attacked by a llama.

Overall, I rate it 4⭐out of 5 based on the following: 🤩Enjoyment - 4.5; 👥Characters - 4; 📖Plot - 4; 🗺️Atmosphere - 3.5; and🖋️Writing - 4 with the first 3 categories being most important. This is the 3rd book in this series and I honestly enjoyed it more than the first two. I can see myself reading this again next season if the author does a 4th book in this series.

What worked for me:
• Hudson taking getting attacked by a llama in stride and his determination to protect Scout.
• Scout's llamas and her willingness to trust Hudson even though she met him under unusual circumstances.

I was lucky enough to receive a free copy of this book through NetGalley; however, all opinions are my own.

This book was such a fun read! It’s a cozy Christmas novella set in a small town, on a farm, with llamas — the vibes were vibing.

I liked Scout’s character a lot; she was easy to root for and genuinely lovable. Hudson had that “touch her and die” energy from the very first day they met, and I loved how he stood up for her and chose to protect her even when he didn’t have to.

The found family aspect was one of my favorite parts — the way Hudson’s colleagues rallied around him to help protect Scout was so heartwarming.

And the twist? I did not see that coming at all. It never even crossed my mind.

This is a 3.5-star read, and I definitely recommend it.

Thanks to the author and NetGalley for this beautiful ARC.

All I Want for Christmas is a Hitman😍

I loved the next instalment in this Holiday with a Hitman Christmas series❣️

Hudson wakes up with a lump on his head, not knowing how he got it until a beautiful woman walks into the room and explains🥹 Suffice to say, Scout thought Hudson was responsible for the vandalism on her property and unleashed Lucy on him🙈

Loved Lucy, Patricia and Clover and yes, Hudson and Scout as well🙌 The ending was fantastic and the storyline intriguing. Can’t wait for more of the Hitmen🤞 I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review❤️

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this book

ohh my i learnt a lot about llamas and hadnt realised how intelligent they actually are

scout is running her farm with her llamas to the best of her ability. that the llamas are her fiercest warriors and protect her isnt something that is well known but when hudson finds himself awake and tied up and not knowing how what or why and for an assassin it isnt something he will want getting out how a llama managed to knock him senseless....

but try as he might he cant get scout of his head and the llamas are a package deal....

what hudson doesnt like is when he manages to get out of being tied up he finds scout is being towered over and shouted at by two very large men... who back up as soon as hudson reveals himself

but why is scout and her farm suddenly the victims of such abuse and vandalism hence the reason when he finds out she needs to hire someone to help out hudson applies

but its not long before more trouble arrives and getting the llamas to like him is also a challenge

what a fun read i am loving this series about a bunch of assassins and how they find their partners or funny situations they find themselves in... cant wait for the next one

All I Want for Christmas Is a Hitman by Katie Reus is a quick, cozy, and unexpectedly hilarious holiday romance that had me hooked from the first chapter.

Hudson waking up on a stranger’s farm, with a lump on his head, wearing llama pajama pants, and being stared down by an angry llama? ICONIC. The humor in this book is perfect, and the llamas absolutely steal the show. Every scene with them added such chaotic charm and made the story feel extra festive and fun.

I loved the dynamic between Hudson and the heroine. She rescues him, he’s injured and confused, and suddenly this lethal hitman is trying to navigate farm life… and a hostile llama. Their chemistry is sweet, slow-building, and full of soft moments that balance out the danger.

When her farm is threatened, Hudson shifts from injured and out of place to full protective mode, and I loved seeing that side of him. The suspense is light but adds just enough tension to keep things interesting.

This novella is fast-paced, funny, and filled with small-town Christmas vibes. And honestly? The llamas make the whole book.

If you want a holiday romance that’s equal parts cozy, chaotic, and charming, this is the perfect festive read.

Holiday havoc & heart!

The moment I saw the title, I hit request so fast, and then devoured the book in one sitting. This was my first read by this author, so I went in with low expectations, just expecting a cute little story, but ended up buying the first two books in the series before finishing chapter five.

It's the perfect blend of hilarious chaos (thanks to Scout's fiercely territorial llama trio of girls), and escalating farm sabotage that keeps the suspense sharp. Hudson arrives exactly when he's needed, growing more protective of Scout with every passing day, and I adored watching that connection grow.

Between the danger, the humor, and the nonstop tension, I was on the edge of my seat nearly the entire time. This series is officially joining my annual holiday reads, and I can't wait to add the paperbacks to my Christmas shelf!

When I tell you this book is hilarious, I mean it. Guard llamas. Guard llamas. I’ve met some llamas in my time who spit, but these ones? Pure comedic gold.

This book delivered all the festive romance vibes I crave: a hitman on a redemption arc, small-town chaos, festive shenanigans, and just the right amount of danger to keep things interesting. The chemistry between Scout and Hudson was spot on, and their dynamic had me grinning the whole way through (especially Hudson and Lucy's relationship!)

The plot was surprisingly strong too! Fast-paced, fun, and impossible to put down. Between the llamas, the banter, and the unexpected sweetness, this quickly became one of my favourite holiday reads of the season. If you love cosy-with-a-kick romances, this one is a total win!

The long awaited (by me at least) third installment of the Holiday with a Hitman series had finally dropped for this holiday season so that we can get more of this crazy group of hitmen and their friends as they fall in love and lose their hearts to the most unlikely of individuals. Katie Reus started the adventure with us two Christmases ago when she introduced her first hitman and we watched the antics and learned just how weird a hitman falling in love at Christmas could be. With each new story and couple, we get to meet new characters and have all new adventure as Reus finds the most unlikely of storylines to lead her characters through the holidays and to the HEA they’ve earned. Hudson wakes up to find himself tied to a bed with the strangest of jailers—a llama that is spitting mad and her sexy owner that is a mystery and intrigue to Hudson. Scout is not prepared for the sexy man that arrived on her ranch with a bag of cash and weapons, but when he steps up and protect her from two threatening individuals, she is willing to give him a chance when he asks for a job. Hudson knows nothing about working as a ranch hand—he’s a hitman for heaven’s sakes—but he knows when a woman is in need of protection and he is determined to keep Scout safe, even if her llamas seem to have a personal vendetta again him. As Scout and Hudson, along with a few friends, work to get the ranch ready for the Christmas festival, their friendship begins to blossom into something much deeper and their chemistry is undeniable. But there is a real enemy out to harm, Scout, one that could endanger both their lives if they don’t proceed with extreme caution. Can they figure out who is threatening Scout and trying to take her ranch from her in time to keep them both safe, or will they end up on the losing end of the fight this Christmas? Seeing Scout and Hudson as they found love in this story was fabulous, but I have to say I loved meeting the llamas just as much. Scout is a sweet, loving, caring, and interesting woman to be sure and you can easily see that she is obviously the perfect match to Hudson’s taciturn and quiet ways. Hudson has lived in the dark for a long time, but he’d never truly been a bad man, being careful about the jobs he takes and always making sure that the people that he takes out are truly worth the hit. When Scout learns the truth of Hudson’s life and career she not only accepts it, she embraces his friends and family wholeheartedly, never letting him think she looks down on them. Overall, this story was heartwarming, sweet, joyful, and filled with the love and laughter you always want in a holiday romance, but with the edge of a Katie Reus novel filled with hitmen and drama. I am dying for next year’s story and cannot wait to find out who it will be next.

I enjoyed this quirky, Christmas read.

Hudson was charming and lethal.

Scout was endearing and nurturing.

I loved the names for the MMC and FMC. I think the stars of the show are the Llamas though. Lucy in particular. It makes the book even more memorable.

A good mix of close proximity and danger (& llamas 🦙). The writing flowed and it was easy to read.

Who doesn’t love a llama that can head butt annoying people? 🦙

This book was so cute and Christmassy. I loved the forced proximity, opposites attract tropes and how protective Hudson was of Scout. You could tell he would go to the ends of the earth to ensure her safety.

Plus, we need an honorable mention for Lucy. Such a protective and slightly deranged llama!

hudson doesnt remember how he ended up in llama themed pajamas with a pounding headache and a scary looking llama glaring at him. he only knows he should run. hitmen arent supposed to wake up in cozy farmhouses, and they definitely arent supposed to get distracted by the beautiful woman who has tied them up. but the longer he’s around scout, the more he wants to stay. and when he realises she’s in danger, protecting her becomes his only mission. now he just has to convince her he’s worth trusting… and that maybe, just maybe, they could build something real together. even if it takes a christmas miracle to get there and lots of time spent with her llamas to get them to like him!

this was such a fast paced, cute christmas romance filled with lots of humour. i mean… protective llamas who are trained to spit, kick and attack people. how hilarious is that!! i just fell in love with scouts quirky llamas instantly.
hudson was clearly somebody who kept moving, kept busy. as a hitman who kept accepting contracts to try fill the whole of wanting to settle down and find a place to call his own, i found it really sweet how hard he fell for scout and how protective he is of her.

i love scouts character. her love for her llamas and her farm, her llama themed decorated house and even pyjamas!!! she is such a strong willed, independent woman and i think it took a lot of her to admit that she needed some help on her farm after her grandad passed away and left it for her.
it was a lovely christmas read, the book had a really fun, murder mystery vibe to it too which just made the plotline even better alongside the tension and flirting that was going on between scout and hudson!

tropes~

-christmas romance
-small town

I have been a romance lover for as long as I can remember, and lately I have fallen in love with stories that lean into morally gray characters. There is just something about a hero who is a little dangerous and a little unpredictable that makes a romance extra fun. So when I saw that this book featured a hitman as one of the main characters, I perked right up. After reading Tawna Fenske’s “Assassins in Love” series, I am no stranger to unusual career paths in romance, and this one had me curious from the moment I read the description.

The main characters won me over almost immediately. They had great chemistry, fun banter, and a sweetness that balanced out the darker edges of the story. One thing I really appreciated is that neither of them spent the entire book tripping over their own emotional baggage. Their relationship focused more on honesty, communication, and acceptance, which felt refreshing. It was nice to watch two people who actually let themselves connect instead of constantly running from their own feelings.

And I have to say this without spoiling anything. Any time I spot llamas in a book, I know I am about to have a good time. This story proved that once again. The llama moments added the perfect splash of humor right when the book needed it, and I could not help but laugh. It gave the story a fun, quirky charm that made everything feel even more memorable.

All in all, this book was such an enjoyable ride. It had heart, humor, tension, and just the right amount of morally gray mischief. Now that I know it is book three in the series, I will definitely be going back and reading the earlier books. If they have this same mix of charm and chaos, I already know I am going to be hooked.

**I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**

I’ve officially fallen head over heels for the Holiday with a Hitman series, and book three pulled me in even deeper. All I Want for Christmas Is a Hitman continues to expand this quirky, dangerous, and oddly wholesome hitman community—and I loved every minute of it.

The found-family vibes are a standout. These characters may be professional killers, but the way they show up for one another—protective, loyal, and fiercely united—adds so much heart to the story. There’s genuine warmth woven through the suspense, and it works beautifully. Katie Reus has created characters who feel layered and human, balancing romance, action, and emotional connection without ever tipping into too much.

And then there are the llamas—absolute scene-stealers. Lucy, in particular, is pure sass wrapped in fluff: opinionated, dramatic, and completely unapologetic. Every appearance had me smiling, and her little moments added so much charm and humour to the story. If any llama deserves main-character energy, it’s Lucy.

This series has become a festive favourite for me, and book three proves it’s only getting better. I’m fully invested now and can’t wait for book four.

All I Want For Christmas Is A Hitman is the third book in this series of festive novellas centred around a community of hitmen. I binged the first two in the series a few days ago, because I read the blurb for this one and knew it was exactly what I love! So I requested this ARC and and then inhaled the first two books while my request was pending.

You don't need to read the previous two novellas to understand this one, but the characters from those books do make an appearance. I loved to see their cameos but the new couple of this book, hitman Hudson and llama farmer (that's a fun thing to say out loud) Scout, were so good together. You need to be good with insta-lust, because there is an instant attraction between the main characters, but I'd say that there's less spice and more plot than the previous books. Overall, another great entry in this fun and festive series!

Holiday with the hitman, what a way to spend Christmas! This is the third in this cute little holiday series and every time I have so much fun!!

Let’s start with Scout and her Llamas, this was so funny and you have to love some good anima sidekick. All the girls had such a personality and honestly stole the show multiple times!

While this was a holiday book, Katie Reus did a good job of captivating the reader with some mystery and intrigue throughout.

Of course I have to mention Hudson, our king who definitely fell first (and boy do we love that). Hitman with a heart of gold? He meets Scout and she actually thinks he’s like a dangerous trespasser and lets the Llamas on him. As soon as he wakes up tied up, he’s got eyes on her.

Overall very sweet and cute! Great if you are looking for some festive fun with a sliver of murder and mayhem!

This book is the third in Katie's Holiday with a Hitman series and just like the first two this was a fun short read about a group of hitmen that get their happy ending around Christmas time. One of those hitmen is Hudson who meets the lovely Scout who's got a llama farm with one llama of those in particular, Lucy, who's super protective of her.

Though there's an instant attraction between Hudson and Scout, he's afraid to open up completely because he's scared she might run once she finds out what he does for a living. And while the shenanigans of the llamas had me in hoots most of the time, there's also some action in the form of attacks on Scout's life and farm which leads to seeing some of the characters of the previous books when they jump in to help.

If you're up for a festive fun short story, extra hilarious with some llama shenanigans that are the stars of the book and some action, then this is the book for you.

Hudson wakes up tied to a bed, he doesn't remember where he is are why he's there. Scout found him on her farm and had her llama knock him out. Scout wonders why he is carrying weapons and a lot of cash. When Hudson finds that the men on the ranch next door are harassing her he decides to find out why and help. He goes to works as a farm hand and helps her set up for the Christmas fair the farms has every year. When two men are caught trying to burn down the llama shed, he takes them to the swamps to get information out of them. He doesn't kill them but warns them off the farm. When returning from town the truck is shot at and run off the road. It's the same two men back again this time he will not let them live. Scout recently lost her grandfather, and she knows he was special forces and when Hudson lets her know he was also and not asking him question she doesn't want him to answer. Hudson has to call in some favors from his fellow hit men to help keep her safe and solve who is trying to kill her.

Received as an ARC thank you NetGalley!☺️ I loved this book it was hilarious! The perfect funny Christmas read. The concept was super unique I can’t say I’ve ever read a book set on a llama farm 😂 Clover, Lucy and Patricia were iconic in this their personalities were so well written you can’t help but love them. The story itself was super interesting too and I loved the way it ended. Also very informative I had no idea snakes could climb trees and that information will now keep me up at night 😂 but also very handy to have in case you ever find yourself being chased by a snake. This story was the perfect length as well and a great way to start off my Christmas reading ☺️ highly recommend this book for a good fun read that will make you laugh out loud!
