I’m all about dark romance, and this book had it all: Mafia elements, intrigue, and crazy tension.
The MMC is a strong-willed alpha who takes what he wants, and that’s exactly what happens when he meets Rowan. She tries to fight him, wanting to break free, but she can’t deny the pull she feels toward him. He always gets what he wants, and this time is no different.
I really liked how the dom/sub dynamic between the Hans and Rowan was handled—it wasn’t overdone or too much. There was development, growth, and a mix of sexual tension and obsession that kept the story moving. The Hans wants to break through Rowan’s defenses and push her to accept her place by his side.
Be sure to check the trigger warnings, but if you’re into BDSM romance, this book is a great example of how both characters help each other grow. Overall, it was a sexy, fun read, and I really enjoyed it!

This is my second read from this author, and a continuation from Daniel and Mona's book.
While I felt Daniel was dominant, his story was on the lighter side of the trigger list. Absolutely not the case with his cousin, Hans. There is no mistaking Hans for anything but a Dominant, control driven man. Something Rowan finds out, in short order! Only she's more than happy to give as good as she gets.
Rowan trusted the wrong man, and is left to answer for his theft from Hans, but unfortunately for her, she doesn't know anything about the crime. Of course Hans doesn't believe this, and has some very creative and steamy ways of interrogating Rowan. What he doesn't figure on is her reaction to his "coercion". There is a great deal of steamy scenes and dominant behavior, which kept the pages turning on their own, and this has all the things we want in a Dominant Mafia read! The turnover from captor/captive to lovers is entertaining, and I certainly enjoyed the second book in the Medina drama more than the first, and look forward to the author continuing the storyline!

Hans is my first read by this author and it's quite a story! Intense, dramatic, dark, just a few words that can describe this fantastic story. Hans is the very definition of an possessive, obsessive, dominant alpha male and Rowan is his perfect match in every aspect. She's strong, independent and determined enough to not give in right away but soft enough to know when to. I love the dynamics between them and I love that the story completely encompasses you right from the start. A great intro to this new to me author!

This is the book I have read from this author. And I think it wont be my last;) I love a good dark romance, Mafia sure, Intrigue and crazy I am down with that too. I do not mind that story line is heavy on the attraction and tension that is between the MMC and the FMC. I feel there was a lot of development between the characters and how their relationship was more than just a physical attraction and obsession. The MMC was strong a willed Alpha male who did what he wanted, took what he wanted and that was just the way it was. The FMC not only wants to fight him to get away, but she knows she feels a connection that makes her want him to her core. He always got his way and this was no different when he met her. This book has dark intrigue, Mafia elements, OTT Obsessed MMC with plenty of sexy times;)

This was a steamy book that pulled me in right from the start! The whole premise seemed intriguing and it certainly was as this H took control of every situation he came across. This h was no shy girl either, she was a strong lead who tried her best against him even as he made her melt under his firm hand.
He wanted to take her, break her in a way and he also infuriated her to no end.
Too bad the man was a master at touch as well! She was strong willed but you know how it goes. He was a man who was used to being in charge, he was no slouch when it came to getting the things that he wanted and keeping them just how he likes. This was such a hot book! There are triggers so please heed them! There is a form of play I'm not onto reading about but again, I already knew that going in. They have some very hot scenes and as much as he frustrates her, he also allows this strong female the ability to let go. He is strong enough to take her on and lets her put herself in his hands without worry which can also be freeing in a way. He can take control for her for once and she can feel free. What a delicious battle of wills!
MMC (Hans) was just the right mix of Obsessive, possessive Alpha.
FMC (Rowan) wasn’t my favourite— I don’t even know why. She’s just not quite my cuppa tea, though she did fit the MMC well, and my silly unknown dislike of her didn’t much impact my feelings on the overall story.
As for the story— this one is a SOLID dark romance.
It’s fairly fast moving, and has some good tension, along with some little twist and turns to keep you captivated.
The writing was splendid— Sucking you into a dark, steamy and intense tale that seems to hold you hostage as the story unfolds.
Though, this is my first read from the author. I feel like I’m going to be a ‘frequent buyer’ of hers of this book is anything to go by… I just wish I liked Rowan more— I wish I knew why I didn’t like her more.

A mafia romance with an interesting pet play twist.
Hans is a cutthroat, dangerous Mafia king who takes no prisoners but makes a concession when he decides to capture AND KEEP Rowan all for himself.
Rowan is an aspiring young lawyer, looking to launch her career and mistakenly stepping into the cross-hairs of a Mafia king.
She’s his captive “kitten” while Hans unravels the lies that bind them. And we see the sexual tension explode off the pages.
While this book did enough to get ⭐️⭐️⭐️ in my opinion, I did feel that the plot was simply plodding along at times and wasn’t substantive enough to really captivate the reader.
The spicy scenes between the main characters were well written and really captured the sexual tension and underlying antagonism which I enjoyed.

This book was absolutely mesmerising with the dark, twisted, intense, turmoil, Mafia, forced proximity, kidnapping, betrayal, lies, secrets, BDSM, electrified romance, chained, possessive, manipulating, murder, action packed, intimidation, strong willed female, degrading passion, hot sweaty body slapping passion could one manage. Hans Medina, is a cold blooded ruthless killer. Rowan and Charles are pretending to be engaged so they can set up a Law Firm in Jaziran things look really good, Hans Medina ends up buying their Law Firm and Charles has done a runner and left Rowan to run that is when she realizes that her business partner has double crossed her and Hans (the Warlord), she tried to fly out when she was captured. As Hans's prisoner she is tormented by him, she is only alive to find out how much she knows and was she involved in the scheme with Charles. The chemistry grows between them, what will happen to her when they get the money back.

Loved this book. Hans is a self made man in every sense of the word. He carries the mistaken guilt of not being able to protect his mom but he takes that guilt and uses it to spur him on to be able to give whatever is needed by his family. He is the provider and the protector and takes on the ugly so his family can remain clean. Rowan wants to have a better life but also wants to use what she’s been given to extend a hand to other young women and give them a platform to better themselves. In the beginning it is very hard to imagine they have any common ground but in reality they both want what is best for the family and friends they care about. The characters and world are so rich I can not imagine that there won’t be follow up visits.

FMC Lacks Act Right
Sigh. I was going to ignore the FMCs snotty, rude and offensive attitude... Maybe it's character growth 😑. Hans was a competent bad dude if not too simplistic overdrawn. Wisely the author gave the FMC some decent vulnerabilities. But both mains are shallow so I guess they fit. But my biggest irk here is that supposedly she's a smart lawyer but she makes the dumbest choices. How can she not read a room? How is she not good at reading people and acting accordingly? How is it possible she is so reactionary and not even a tiny bit shrewd? The MMC is so big bad Mafia dude who stays 10 steps ahead but didnt properly vet his money man????? Like make that make sense. By 30%, her thought process out of a jam was so bonehead & his lack of true Badassery Bossness so meh, I had to call it a day.

This book was fun to read. I was able to read this book, considerably fast, which means that the book managed to capture my interest. The author's writing is very fluid and easy, which means you can simply enjoy the journey without much effort and that's good. Honestly, the only thing that made me not like it more was the fact that I thought there was a lack of more connection between the characters, I felt that their feelings were not so deep, I felt that there was a lot of attraction for each other but I wanted something more. Anyway I enjoyed it and liked the book anyway, however I needed a little more to be able to give more stars to this book.

This book started out really good, caught my attention completely the first few pages because I love Mafia books and then it went slightly downhill. The FMC (final main character )started out awesome, I found myself really liking her but as soon as she met the MMC (male main character), it went off track. She kind of annoyed me with her wanting him but then fighting so hard against it and then him basically forcing it because she did want it. It honestly drove me nuts. If there hadn’t been so much of a fight against the non mainstream things she wanted and was more “willing” it would have made for a better story line. Also a little more empathy from the FMC would have been great like when the security guys saved her life and there was nothing from her about it. In the end though it was good and turned out better than I had hoped. The authors writing was good, the storyline good, I just wish for less of a fight and force plot which got old quickly. This is a well written book with strong characters in Hans and Rowan. The author does a great job developing the story and painting her scenes perfectly. She takes you into their lives with a dark romance filled with danger and suspense and takes you through all the emotions, keeping me turning the pages right to the end. She moves the story fluidly and delivers a terrific read.

Intense, dynamic and dark
This is a dark, intense and dynamic romance that kept me hooked the whole time. The story is full of tension, and impossible to put down. The character is complex and charismatic at the same time. While the romance is steamy, the darker elements can be a lot for some readers, so be advised. Overall, it's a gripping read for those who enjoy dark romance.

Really enjoyed this book, a new author to me and enjoyed Emma’s writing style. Personally I could have done with it being a bit darker, maybe a bit more resistance from the MFC but ultimately a great mafia romance with a dark side. Really enjoyed the MMC and the way his character builds throughout the book. Will be looking out for books by Emma in the future.

I liked Han’s story - dark, mafia story with a ruthless man who is dangerous, yet showing human emotion to our heroine, Rowan, an aspiring attorney hoping to set an example that women can make it in this field in the country of Jaziran. Their attraction to each other outweighed what Rowan was experiencing and their story was intense till the end.

I'm reading something by the author for the first time, I saw that there was a part before this book, so I'll read that too because I like her writing style. I am satisfied and that is the most important thing.

Dark Raw Emotion
This story has all the dark elements that make it interesting; possessiveness, dominant alpha, provocative, chemistry, and romance. Han is possessive and ruthless. This makes him a magnet that the female lead try to resist making this read captivating. The pace kept me turning the pages.

Hans is the second book in the Mediterranean Heat series. It’s intense, dark and hard to put down. Hans and Rowan’s story is well written and riveting. It’s a fantastic read.
