Tracy Lorraine is a M/F and M/M contemporary romance author. Tracy has just turned thirty and lives in a cute Cotswold village in England with her husband, baby girl and lovable but slightly crazy dog. Having always been a bookaholic with her head stuck in her Kindle Tracy decided to try her hand at a story idea she dreamt up and hasn’t looked back since.
Broken Saint is the start of a new series however we met Ella back in Maddison Kings university. We always know about her connection to Colt but in Broken Saint we get to see both sides of their relationship plus we’ve moved into pro-football rather than college football. We have a lot of favourite characters also featured between the pages.
Ella is dating a tool. She needs a wake up call and one night she gets it with a huge bang. It’s sends her life upside down and she wants to get away from her small town so she can restart her life after her ex. She decides to visit Letty!!
Colt biggest mistake was letting Ella slip through his fingers. He’s a compliment phobic but deep down he knows she was the one. When she visits his neck of the woods he knows he has to make things right between them.
Can Ella and Colt get the happy ever after they’ve always deserved?
Colt needs shaking for the things he’s put Ella through and I love seeing his off balance.
Great start to a new series with loads of familiar faces to revisit.

So Tracy wrote this story chapter by chapter for her Patreon. I’m part of said Patreon but I decided to wait until it was totally done to read it. And let me tell you this story is amazing. At just over 600 pages, it’s going to be daunting, but you are going to be so invested that you are not going to notice the pages as they fly by.
Ella and Colton have a past that starts in college, but this story takes place a few years after graduation, when Ella comes to Seattle to see her friends and watch a football game. What comes next can only be described as Tracy magic.
Take this journey with these two, watch them try to overcome a whole slew of challenges, and see them grow. I love how Tracy writes a story and books like this are the reason why!
This is a beautifully written emotionally charged story which has family, friendships, intrigue, emotions, challenges, drama, heartbreak, loyalty, secrets, undeniable chemistry, and love which all leads to an entertaining, spicy, and compelling addictive page turner. Be aware of the trigger warnings duo to sensitive tropics. I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I highly recommend.
Colt & Ella reunion. We've met these two before in the Maddison King's University series. They were on-again off-again college hook-ups. She fell hard for him, he said from the start that he doesn't do relationships, he doesn't do repeats, but he does with Ella. There's something about her that's different from the rest of the jersey chasers. When they graduated they went their different ways, but it stung pretty bad for Ella.
Years later, Ella's life is so different from what it was in college, no longer the life and soul of the party, she's a shell of what she used to be. Taken down by the man who says he loves her, going to marry her, puts her down at every turn, she's not pretty enough, she's not going to fit in with his crowd, she's better off staying at home while he's out. Her mental health is deteriorating, her confidence is non existent, until she catches him in a position that makes her mind up to go visit some old college friends.
Colt is living the life in the NFL with some of his college football buddies. He hasn't been the player playboy for awhile, he doesn't know what's going on with himself, he's just not enjoying the jersey chasers, what if deep down he's ready to settle down?? When Ella comes to town his world tilts, all he can see is her, but she's changed, but his feelings for her are still there. They get back to being Ella and Colt. Ella's loving being around her friends again, so much time has past and she's missed it, she's feeling that she's finally home.
They're both scared of their feelings for one another. Will Colt come around and admit his feelings for her? Or will he send her running away from him again?
It was great catching up with some of the old crew, the banter, the closeness, they're family, and looking forward to seeing what's coming next
Colt and Ella’s story is EVERYTHING! I seriously loved these two. The story had me gripped from the very start and I didn’t want to stop reading. Tracy Lorraine has a way of just sucking you into a story, you just never want it to end!
Colt and Ella’s chemistry is on fire. Right from when they meet again you can feel that electric pull between them. I absolutely loved seeing all the characters from MKU! I’ve missed them all so much. Highly recommend. I can’t wait to read West’s book!
I’ll be completely honest, this book took a very long time for me to be invested in it. I am talking, not until chapter 48. I had a hard time getting invested in the character’s relationship and felt the beginning was just kind of repetitive and dragged on, too quick for things to happen.
However, once I reached chapter 48, I found myself so much more invested. It was emotional, made me cry, the angst that happened made me want to know what was going to happen next. I just wish I had that from the very beginning or just something that made me want to keep going.
Not my favorite from this author, but I definitely still ended up enjoying parts of it. Wish it was shorter and that we maybe saw more of old Colt in the beginning.
This book had absolutely no business being over 600 pages long. While I appreciate that this book focused somewhat on mental health issues, I don't that particular aspect brought anything to the story. No one told Colt that Ella had been in an accident, and his big reason for staying away from her was mental health issues in his family. Their angst and slow burn ended up getting on my nerves because at the end of the day they were a hella toxic for each other. Colt builds her up only to throw her away after his injury, knowing Ella's struggles. Then he comes back and she jumps right back into his arms like nothing happened. Yes she mentions taking time to trust him but the entire ending was rushed and yet dragged t the same time.
This book was not for me at all. I kept thinking it would get better but it didn't. I should have DNF'd it but I stuck it out.
Here we go back and get to catch up with the Maddison Kings Uni crew and man I've missed the crowd!
We're here to get Letty and Colts story - they were on again, off again, for years throughout school and it seems they went their separate ways afterwards. Fast forward and we get the crew back together but life hasn't been as kind to them all... This story has a lot of mental health issues in it so if they can be a trigger for you then I recommend you ask for more information before reading any further.
Ella and Colt belong together but that doesn't mean they will get to be, there are a lot of things standing in their way and just when you think things are looking up - Tracy Lorraine will throw you for a loop and leave you reeling!
Really enjoyed it, can be very emotional at times but also has plenty of friendships goals, relationship goals, attraction, passion, hope, want and belief - there's also a lot of tears and back and forth.
Wow! This is 600 pages but worth every page. I was invested from the beginning of Ella + Colt’s story. I was ruined, then hopeful, then destroyed, then hopeful again. Lots of hot sex (the night club scene 🥵), real life themes ie trigger warnings (mental health, depression, eating disorder, trauma) but still they get their HEA. Dang, I didn’t want this to end. It is emotional but overall authentic and raw and gritty and I ate it up. *Colt’s brother West gets his story next 🤩🫶🏻.
I think there were more negatives than positives for me, but only slightly. I didn't like the characterization of. The FMC, that she falls apart without this man. I also felt the MMC 's excuses were flimsy. And since when does ADHD contribute to someone being hospitalized against their will?
These characters get the ending they deserved and all I can say is FINALLY! I first met these 2 years ago, and their get their HEA is so bitter sweet! They went through so much together, and the raw, real emotions Tracy was able to portray are just beautiful! The growth individually and as a couple was so real and relatable and finished so wonderfully I want more, more, more!
I enjoyed the second chance and mental health aspects of the book. I enjoyed Colton and saw his growth from a playboy to a man fighting for what he wanted while working through his struggles. Elle, I don't know what it was, but I didn't connect with her or see much growth in her. Instead of dealing with issues, she used other means, needing Colton and even her ex to battle her struggles. I didn't see her be strong on her own or for herself. I skimmed some pages as their relationship seemed superficial, with little connecting or growing together but more about the physical. I love the spicy scenes, but I also want character development.
main character is crying/sobbing nearly every page
If you are a woman with even one cell of independence you will not like this book. Main character is “nothing without her man”. She needs ALL of her friends and family to drag her through life every step of the way. Never seeks help. Has an eating disorder and her family “helps” by shoving junk food at her. The only time she can be happy is when “her man” Is physically with her giving constant reassurance. She is exhausting! She is always crying and falling to the ground in tears. Ugh. If you read this book and can identify with Ella, please seek help.
DNF. I'm clearly in the minority but this was so repetitive and annoying. She had body issues that she NEVER STOPPED TALKING ABOUT. His extremely overused nickname for her was Bombshell. His was playboy. They haven't seen each other in like 2-3 years and they are kissing within like an hour of seeing each other. And then spent like 3 chapters just having sex and talking about how much they missed each other and how they've changed.
I need a FMC who is stronger than this. Ella’s world is only good when she is with Colton. Without him she goes in a relapse. I understand mental issues as a storyline but making her this weak is a turnoff.
Review: 𝐵𝓇𝑜𝓀𝑒𝓃 𝒮𝒶𝒾𝓃𝓉 was perfection. There are no other words that are best to describe the story between Ella and Colt in this book. Tracy truly brought these two full circle in this book and every word showed how perfect Ella and Colt were for one another even when they were on the outs. 𝐵𝓇𝑜𝓀𝑒𝓃 𝒮𝒶𝒾𝓃𝓉 was a football romance full of emotion, angst and personal growth between two people who were always going to end up together but had to take the unconventional route to achieve their HEA. This book put me through all the emotions and truly strung me out while reading in the best of ways!
Ella was both fiery and shy but both sides were monumental in this book. I adored her inner strength and the way she persevered through everything to get her HEA and how she dealt with all the surprises that Tracy loved to throw her way. The bond she had with Colt was both smooth sailing and tumultuous since it took them a while to find common ground but also realize that they both needed the other to lean on. They way that Tracy was able to grow both Ella’s and Colt’s story spoke to her ability to craft phenomenal romances but also created a heartwarming feeling as we dove into 𝐵𝓇𝑜𝓀𝑒𝓃 𝒮𝒶𝒾𝓃𝓉.
Colt was probably the one character that held my heart the most in this book since his POV was so emotional and troubled. The way his character grew and matured in this story was everything to the character arc he had and I appreciated how Tracy made his story one that puled at every heartstring but also made you want to shake him. Seeing him with his brothers who we saw in previous books was also a favorite part for me since we finally get the sibling ribbing for Colt and Ella in full force. 𝐵𝓇𝑜𝓀𝑒𝓃 𝒮𝒶𝒾𝓃𝓉 was another top notch romance read by Tracy and I cannot wait for more of the Seattle Saints to come!
Rating: 5/5; 𝐵𝓇𝑜𝓀𝑒𝓃 𝒮𝒶𝒾𝓃𝓉 left me desperate for more of the Seattle Saints but aching to see Ella and Colt again!
Broken Saint ( Seattle Saints Book 1 ) Well just as she always does Tracy has once again exceeded all my expectations and just completely blew me away in all the best ways .If your familiar with Tracy’s Madison King University Series then you will remember Ella !!! Not only do we get hers and Colts emotional rollercoaster of a journey but we get to once again see so many of our favorite couples . Colt and Ellla were so perfect together. Neither has had it easy , in fact both have many obstacles and struggles they are dealing with , both emotionally and physically. For Ella’s it’s more physical after she suffered through a terrible car accident that left her scarred and struggling to learn to love the person she now is . For Colt it’s a hereditary diagnosis that has affected the way he sees his future and the ability to let people in . There’s no question that the chemistry they used to have in high school is still there, I mean the second they once again come face to face after so many years apart you can still feel the connection, between them . It’s so very beautiful and emotional. The way they are there for each other , opening up and supporting one another and trust me it’s not a easy journey , it’s a story that literally pulled at all my heartstrings in ways I never saw coming . I mean I smiled , I laughed out loud, I sobbed like a baby , I even yelled outta pure frustration all while cheering so so hard for these two to get the happily ever after they so clearly deserved . Ella was such a likable and relatable heroine and I truly loved her . But Colt well he has my heart ❤️, the way he comes across as a playboy when we first meet him , but we very quickly realize he’s so much more then that . He’s a sweetheart who has his way own demons she deals with on a daily basis . But he’s also such a amazing friend , son and brother . There isn’t anything he won’t do to protect the ones he loves . Ella very quickly becomes the number one person on that lists . His patience with her was so beautiful it really did touch my heart 💜.
First of all, I have to say I feel conflicted about this book. Of course, when I started reading it, I knew I've heard about Ella and Colt before. And when Lorraine mentions about Letty, my brain clicks and Ding Ding Ding!!! I remeber that I felt something between Ella and Colt and I hoped Lorraine would write about them in the Maddison Kings University series... which was no luck at all, LOL.
So yes, I was so glad Lorraine gave them a chance in this book. But here is my problem, yes, I knew them and now what?!? I couldn't remember about their relationships in the university at all and my brain kept wondering what happened between them so while I should feel happy that Lorraine finally gave me Ella and Colt's book, I just can't.
Luckily, I seemed to let it go after digging deep into the book though and I began to enjoy Ella and Colt's second chance.
I love and enjoy reading how their friends meddling with their love and I totally agree that Ella needs Colt's attention to boost back her confidence. But when everyone seemed to be happy, Lorraine threw a curveball and I felt like WTF! I like Colt but I also want to smack his head hard or shake some sense into him. At the same time, I thought this part is quite easily predictable so I felt boring while I was reading it and I didn't know how I should feel about this book anymore. I think it's more like love-hate relationship... maybe? That's why I decided to give this book 3.5 stars.
That's just my opinion though... if you like second chance and sports romance with a lot of heat and angst, you can try it.
I remember glimpses of Colt and Ella from the Maddison University college days. It is very exciting now that they have their turn at love.
Colt was the ultimate playboy in college. He believed relationships were not for him, so he never dated; his rule was one night. Yet, with Ella, he broke that one-night-only rule. Although he could not offer her a relationship, their chemistry was too good for him to stay away. At their graduation, he finally decided that was the end and broke all contact.
Ella has been battling her demons but has never forgotten Colt and their connection. She wonders whether it was real or her imagination was playing tricks on her.
Now, almost five years have passed. They have another chance to spend time around each other; will that connection be the same?
This story covers second chances at love, mental health disorders, eating disorders and toxic relationships. It also reminds us that family is not only blood but those friends who will be there for you in all circumstances. Seeing Colt and Ella explore and hold each other up is terrific.
This is Ella and Colt's story and you might recognise them from the MKU. Series.
This book is a 💙second chance 💙sports romance 💙surprise pregnancy 💙
I absolutely love reading from this author and this was just a fabulous.
This is a Seattle Saints and is a sports romance, second chance, and full of and and suspense.
Colt was always the playboy NFL player who just wanted to have fun and play sports but, with Ella it was different. Ella has changed since the last time she's seen him and has been through so much. So when Ella comes to town Colt is thrown right back into his emotions. She's here in town but she's not like how he remembers, she's changed alot. (NO SPOILERS)
These characters have known each other from the past and then they pick back up in Seattle years later. I was totally obsessed with these guys and I was hooked on every page. They both go through so much and have curve balls thrown their way and I absolutely loved these characters, who they are, there rawness and their chemistry is fire. I felt everything reading this book and it will have your emotions all over the place as always with Tracy's characters they will book you right in. The growth these characters have had and the development is spot on as always. I always love how this author writes, her words pull me in every single time and this book is so beautifully written and it completely consumed me.
We've all got to see the kind of relationship that would have bloomed with Ella & colt within the MKU universe hot and heavy with each other , but they always kept that distance .
Fast forward to some years later Colts living his NFL dream with his best friends , the jersey chasers, his best life!
Ella not so much . She's got a poor excuse for a bf a job she hates .. her life didn't turn out the way it was supposed to. But a chance at twisted fate opened her eyes and brought her back to her best friends her family .. an he who should not be named ..
Ella and Colts reunion was explosive from the beginning . They both knew what it was they wanted but we're always scared for their own reasons (you'll have to find out in the book ) Ellas been through it , she's changed .. colt seems to have a hard time seeing how she's not the same can't really believe it . But he vows to help change her back to the women she used to be . Colts tired of the same old things . Ella sees the same old guy , but when he starts to open up a little more the thought of could they make this work arises.
Will they be able to but aside being scared to love one another or will it end in heartache?
I loved this book it was everything I expected hopefully we'll be able to get a bit more into this new universe!
Tracy has done it again! This has been a long time in the waiting for these two. I absolutely love Colt and Ella’s story. I was taken on one spectacular rollercoaster ride with this story. My emotions were all over the place. I smiled, laughed, cried, giggled, cried some more and just melted into a puddle. The crying were happy and sad tears. You know that these two are meant for each other. They each need the other more than anything. Reading this book was like reading an MKU reunion. If you have read that series you will see the familiar faces and see that the family is becoming one again. There is drama and oh my did it knock me on my butt. This story will have your heart racing and stopping throughout the whole book. I love these characters so much and I love how Tracy has brought them all to life. I can’t wait to read West’s story and be taken on yet another ride that only Tracy can deliver. C- “Just Ella’s presence settles something inside me that no other’s ever has. She’s the calm to my manic. And that is something I crave more than almost anything else in the world. Peace.“ E- “It feels like our connection lasts an eternity, but then the second he’s dragged away by more members of the team to celebrate, I realize that it was nowhere near long enough.”
“I keep my eyes downcast for a few seconds, summoning the courage to look up at myself. You can do this. Own who you are now. This is you. You are beautiful. You are beautiful. You are beau— My mantra is cut off when I finally lift my eyes. It took me a long time to break the obsession I had with looking at my reflection and fixating on everything I hate.”
Broken Saint is Colton and Ella’s story, they both featured in the Maddison Kings University Series. However, it wasn’t their time and things ended. A series of events have changed Ella’s life and she isn’t the girl she once was. Is she able to gather the strength and courage required to climb out of the hole she finds herself in? On the surface Colt looks like he has everything he’s ever wanted, but you’ll find a locked chest full of hidden anguish and pain if you dig beneath the surface. He is a scared little boy who pushes anyone away if they get too close. I loved this book and fell in love with the imperfect characters and the banter they shared. It takes a tragedy to bring everything to an abrupt halt. This was a tearjerker, had lots of angst, love and a camaraderie between friends that bought them together as one big happy family.
Tracy Lorraine is breaking my heart with this one . Broken Saint is for the second chances and new beginnings and forgiveness . It's an emotional whirlwind, nerve wracking and heartbreaking over 600 pages goodness of a novel that gave me hope, make me want to cry my heart out and then laugh. And I read it in a day and a half. Because... adult life responsibilities. Loved Ella and Colton. Personally, Ella is my hero. She's survivor and a fighter . And yet she's in a situation that breaks her daily. And thanks to a sudden twist of fate she sees the truth and just leaves . That's when she decides to get back to the girl she was before. And she's in Seattle with her friends and sees Colton again. After the past they share , she's willing to give him a second chance. And those two are fire together. All it's needed was one single glance and they are back together. But they both have secrets to share, fears to overcome and constant battles to win with themselves. That chemistry between them is steaming hot . But before they got their happily ever after they have a few obstacles to overcome, take full responsibility for their well being in order to support each other . And these two are each other biggest supporter . And that little plot twist put everything in perspective for them . My epilogue loving heart was in heaven with not one but two epilogues. And that bonus chapter is a pure chef's kiss. Now I'm so curious about what's happening with Weston and how Nova is involved and I have a feeling it's gonna be a good one..
Thank to the author for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of this book.
Broken Saint is a gripping second-chance sports romance that blends heartbreak, resilience, and undeniable chemistry. Tracy Lorraine masterfully crafts the emotional journey of Colt and his former love, whose reunion stirs unresolved feelings and buried pain. Colt, now an NFL player, and the protagonist, still grappling with the aftermath of a life-altering accident, are deeply relatable. Their push-and-pull dynamic is intense, full of tension and vulnerability. Lorraine captures the pain of their past and the hope of their future in a way that keeps you turning the pages. Perfect for fans of emotionally charged romances, Broken Saint delivers on all fronts: heartache, passion, and a satisfying path to healing. While part of the Seattle Saint series, it works beautifully as a standalone.
Colton Rogers and Ella Meyers. They both graduated from MKU and left for their future lives. Now Colt is a professional football player for the Seattle Saints and a playboy. Ella just witnessed her ex fiancé doing his thing with his boss. A lot has happened with Ella’s life and some not so good. She comes to Seattle and stays with one of her best friends from college who just happens to be married to one of Colt’s best friends and teammate. Colt and Ella have history and it ended not so good. What if she sees him again? She thought she had let him go but being in the same town is making her very nervous. She is not the same person that she was in college. Too much has happened. She sure does not know if she is ready. Will she be able to trust him? Maybe they can just be friends, right? She just cannot let him hurt her again. Well when Colt sees her at his game he is shocked! He cannot let her leave again! But it looks like he might have a good fight on his hands, right?
Colt and Ella had a tumultuous on and off thing in college. They agreed it could never be anything more but at the same time they couldn't keep away from each other. But when it came time for Ella to graduate they finally agreed that things between them were done and they needed to go their separate ways. They never could have predicted how things would change after that.
Colt went on to pursue his dream of being in the NFL. He made a name for himself, got to play ball with his friends, and made his way through meaningless hookups. Ella went back home to recover from her accident and ended up with engaged to a guy she knew from high school who did not treat her right.
Five years later when Ella gets invited by her college friends to come watch the big game she debates on if it will be worth seeing them if it also means seeing Colt again. Circumstances push her to make the trip and face her past. She reconnects with her found family and with Colt. They've both changed and grown since their college days but they both still have have some big issues to overcome.
Their passion is intense. They've been missing each other throughout the years. But that doesn't mean things are easy. Colt and Ella both have problems that try to get in their way. And even though I would have loved to see a bit more groveling from Colt to make up for some of his faults, I did really love them together a lot. This was a great second chance story. And there are some hints at what could be next for the series that has me excited.
This book was such an emotional rollercoaster. Having her life turned upside down by catching her fiance cheating Ella seeks comfort and a safe space with her friends. Unsure how to navigate her life or what's left of it and old flame from her past reappears and ignites the spark she had dimmed by her ex. Old feelings come to the surface and they prove that some things never change and that second chances are worth having. Until one day it all changes and Colt's insecurities build the walls too high and he pushes Ella away. So much goes on in the next few chapters that your emotions are everywhere! Realizing his mistake he makes sure to beg and gain his forgiveness for hurting the woman who's always had his heart! And they have their happily ever after finally!
This book touched on some hard hitting topics which you don't see often in these types of books, but it's done gracefully.

Closer to 3.75⭐️s but not quite 4. I liked how the author went kinda back and forth with their history. I haven’t read the books where this couple was introduced in college, but I felt I knew enough not to have to go back before enjoying this book. I liked the glimpses of how the other couples related and how they all were their for each other without it being OTT. Both MC had baggage that seemed relatable in the world today. Their actions seemed on par with that which was also good to read. Of course, more communication could have lessened their problems, but then the tension wouldn’t have been there, right? Overall I did like this book and look forward to more of this series. It made me want to look into the college stories of the other 3 couples, but with the bully romance tag, not sure how long I will last with those.
