I am loving this Poplar Falls series! I love a good small town romance and the more I get into these books the more I love the town and characters. I’ve been so excited to get to Brandt and Bellamy’s book and it didn’t disappoint.

Brandt Haralson is a vet newer to town and Bellamy is back for the summer after graduating college. Brandt needs a little temporary help in his vets office and Bells is just the person to help him out.

Brandt has been really closed off since he moved into town and not many people know why. When he opened up to Bellamy I was in tears. He’s been through a lot. Watching him open up and them fall in love, it was beautiful. I loved them together so much.

Fragile Hearts has plenty of sweetness with emotion, a bit of steam and mostly low angst. I smiled through so much of this book and it’s my favorite of the series so far. I’m looking forward to reading more!

Fragile-Hearts-1

Fragile Hearts is the 4th book in the small town country romance series Poplar Falls. It follows Brandt & Bellamy and is a slowburn, friends to lovers work place romance.

Bellamy is temporarily back home in Poplar Falls after graduating and waiting to hear back from her dream job. While home she decides to help out and work with the local vet. She is a lively, sweet, empathetic and fun loving character. She is so full of life & passionate as well as focused on what she wants her future to look like. She is such a good strong & level headed heroine who would fight hard for the people she loves.

Brandt is the local vet who is still fairly new in town and from previous books we got the sense that he had an emotionally damaged background and holds in a lot of pain. I had a feeling what his back story would be but reading about the specifics was very heartbreaking. He tends to keep most people at bay & doesn't see himself worthy of love but he is so kind & caring and fits in with the town perfectly as he starts opening himself back up to creating a life worth living.

Individually I loved these two & as a couple they definitely worked and am happy to have read their story but I wish the book had focused more on their journey together as well as their personal growth apart. I absolutely adore the town of Poplar Falls and all the residents and this book heavily focused on those people surrounding the couple, which is personally something I love in small town romances, as not only do you get to fall in love with a couple but the town itself. However due to this being a short book I found that it could've spent just a little more time with Brandt & Bellamy as the bool ended a lot quicker than I would've prefered. The conflict & resolution needed more time to really let that emotion build.

This town is so charming and I love how close these people become like one big happy family that are ready to help pick up the pieces when one of them is down and their a still quite a few people I'm craving a story from mainly Sonia and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Tropes: Small Town | Contemporary Romance

Is it to early to say that I already NEED another book in this series? Because I DO! The Polar Falls series is one of my absolute FAVORITES and I can’t help but recommend them to everyone I know. These books are sweet, small town romances with charming characters, a quaint and rustic setting, and plots that will keep you glued to the pages. Amber Kelly KNOWS what her readers wants, and she consistently delivers. I am thrilled about this because she’s a fairly new to me author, but one I know I’ll be reading for years to come! If you’re not familiar with this series but want to know where to start, then I personally recommend reading them in order as each of the books are interconnected. However, this is not necessary, and you can truly read them in any order if you choose as each book does feature a different couple. Just be warned that if read out of order there will probably be spoilers from past books/relationships.

Fragile Hearts is the 4th book in the series. This one features Bellamy and Brandt. Brandt is the new vet in town and has had a tough couple of years after his wife was murdered. His emotional scars are imbedded deep in his soul and trying to come up from the ashes proves difficult for him. That is, until the pretty blond comes into the picture and takes over as an assistant at his veterinary practice.

Bellamy is a breath of fresh air. She’s down to earth, relatable, and fierce. She wears her heart on her sleeves and would do anything for anyone. However, she too is getting over a rough spot as the man she thought was her partner in life took her dream job right from under her nose. She goes back to Poplar Falls to heal her wounds and is surrounded by some of the best family anyone can ask for. Even though she’s not looking for love, she does find something with the local vet and the two must overcome all the things holding them back to find their HEA. The journey isn’t 100 percent easy, but Amber Kelly doesn’t drag it out with angst and unease and readers will feel the experience is pleasant and realistic.

I do hope many readers will take a chance on this book and the series as a whole. There are not many romances that feel authentically small town like this one so you’re really in for a treat if you read it! Highly recommended.

I hate to say, but this series went from my favorite book, Wicked Hearts to my least, Fragile Hearts. FH was far from a complete wash. Nothing remotely incensed me about it. It was just wildly inconsistent. As much as I typically enjoy a look in at past characters from a series I’m invested in (& I did enjoy it, especially with what’s happening for Dallas & Myer these days & damn Braxton...Braxton had me crying recounting to Brandt what happened the night he & Elle lost their parents), but I think for all the longer the book was, there was too much of that & not enough getting know Bells & Brandt - together or apart. Of all the characters, both were so flatly written for most of the first 40%, so I was having a difficult time connecting to either one. Then their story came around for a bit & I was able to actually care about them, a spark was finally lit between them (no pun intended) as well as a few sweet moments, but then the story moved to kind of a corny sequence & overly predictable for a little bit. Sort of found it’s way back on track again & then it was done. Finito! Which felt rather abrupt partly at fault because of that first 40% & the book itself is on shorter side.

So in a nutshell, it was...
description

Be that as it may, I hope this isn’t the end the Poplar Falls series(another review I read sort of made it sound like it was). I have enjoyed it overall. I at least need Payne to get his head out of his own ass, & finally get my Payne & Charlotte fix with HEA. Not to mention, I think there’s the beginnings of a crackle of heat between Sonia & Foster.

Easy and sweet.

Another sweet and easy read set in good old Poplar Falls. Loved finally getting Brandt’s story. He’s been a bit of a mystery for the last couple of books, and I enjoyed getting more of him. Bellamy was also an awesome addition. She was fun in the last book, and I enjoyed her in Fragile Hearts as well. Pulling Brandt out of his shell more than anyone else has. This was just a sweet and easy read. There is a dash of angst, but it’s seriously just a dash. If you’re looking for small town easy romance, then this is it.

how sweet!!! i thinks this is my favorite of the series!!!
Bellamy and Brandt had chemistry and I loved how they were friends at the beginning, there was zero awkwardness.

As always, loved seeing the fam. Missed them!!

The thing with the books from this series is that it just never feels like the “forever love” or “soulmates” and I think that’s because the build up from a fresh new relationship into the real deal is almost non-existing and it almost always feels like they are HFN.

Also, I’m aware this was on the other books, but all the women/men stereotypes bothered me a bit more here. There were a few comments that weren’t necessarily harmful but were told as part of the small-town/ranch culture that rubbed me the wrong way. Idk if that was just me...

But other than that, this was great!! Not super deep (even though we see a tiny bit more of the H troubles and how he overcomes them) and very fun!! These books are super light and quick reads. They have all that small-town magic and big close family vibe.

I've been loving The Poplar Falls series since I finished the first book of this series. The most thing that I love is the way Amber describe the small town and the family. UGH I need to find my way to Poplar Falls 😭🧡 The Poplar Falls series is one of my absolute FAVORITES and I can’t help but recommend them to everyone I know. These books are sweet, small town romances with charming characters, a quaint and rustic setting, and plots that will keep you glued to the pages.

Fragile Hearts is the 4th book in the series about Bellamy and Brandt. Brandt is the new vet in town and has a tough couple of years after what had happened to him. He still can't get over it and always blame himself thus, he moved to Poplar Falls with his mom looking for a new fresh start. That is, until a pretty blonde country girl comes into his life as an assistant at his veterinary clinic.

She turns to face me and grabs the hem of her tee. She lifts it above her head and drops it at her bare feet.“Come on, Doc. Find your wild.” It’s a dare.

FHigstory2

Bellamy's life seems to be going all good, moving back to Poplar Falls to be with her family for summer after graduated and then she wants to start living her dream life that she's been planning before. But then things go sideways and changes her life forever.

This is a really sweet second-chance-romance. There is a lot of pain there from the past, and a lot of uncertainty about their future, and it’s an emotional journey for Brandt as they slowly open up to each other, reveal their vulnerabilities and let each other in. They each have a lot that they need to figure out, and together there is a lot they need to work through as they figure out what it is they truly want and then fight to have it.

“But you are wasting your second chance. You want to squander it all away , feeling sorry for yourself? Well, be my guest. But let’s be clear about something: it’s a choice. I told myself that you had a fragile heart, which had been shattered, and that getting close to you was a bad idea, but it turns out, I’m the one with the fragile heart, and you’re just a coward. If you’re going to let the rest of your life be filled with a whole lot of nothing so you never have the chance of experiencing pain again, then you might as well have died that day too. You’re going to have nothing but an empty life in a big, lonely house. I bet your Annie would agree with me when I say, that’s a waste. Goodbye, Brandt.”

FHigstory

It’s a quick read with right amount of steamy time and reminiscing about the past with dash of angst. There’s not quite the amount of angst and details that I would have liked to see, but I definitely came to care about these characters and I loved watching them find their way back to each other.

“Say it again,” she murmurs without opening her eyes. “I love you.” She smiles a sleepy smile. “I love you more than doughnuts.” I bark out a laugh and she grins as her heavy eyelids fall shut.

My heart. This book. The raw emotions in this book, especially for Brandt, gutted me so much! This series just keeps getting more amazing. Bellamy is one of those people that you just want to be friends with. Honestly the whole crew. Her heart is so amazing even when she is hurting, she wants the best for everyone. The magnetic pull that these two have is so flawless. But the heartache of the past creeps in and can they really let go of it. Brandt’s history is so beyond heartbreaking. Like a knife in the heart you want to bawl for him and what he has been through. Then you have what happens with Bellamy and you just want to yell for her because she didn't deserve it. The title is so apt for these two. They are so fragile in so many ways. But I found they bring the best out of each other.
Overall, this is a beautiful addition to the series and possibly my favorite so far. Between the passion and the heartache, you have epic wit and banter not just between the main characters but between all the past ones as they add such depth to the story. You want to laugh and cry, swoon and yell through this whole book. It has everything you need. I am in love with this author's writing and it needs to be one clicked!

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via the author and wordsmith publishing.

Fragile Hearts is a beautiful, heart pulling and funny read by Amber Kelly.
This book focuses on Brandt and Bellamy. Bellamy has been betrayed by her boyfriend in a shocking way and starts to work at the vets practice Brandt owns. This brings them closer together and Brandts backstory unfolds.

Set in Poplar Falls, this book is warm, funny, fun and heart tugging story about fragile hearts and healing, moving forward and living life to the fullest.

This was a really sweet read. Love after loss is always a difficult subject to tackle, but it was done well here. Dr. Brandt is the new town vet, who Bellamy gets to know better when she moves back home from Chicago after graduating from college. She’s not thrilled when she loses out on a job, that her boyfriend-ahem…EX-boyfriend snipped from her. She dumps his ass and immediately starts working for Brandt at his vet practice.

Brandt moved from Oregon a bit ago to leave his ghosts behind. Or more accurately, the ghost of his wife, who was murdered on their anniversary but a junkie with a knife. Brandt isn’t sure that he has what it takes to be in a relationship again, but he knows that he can’t stay away from Bellamy. And he’s not so sure he wants to, anyway. But when something happens to threaten Bellamy’s well-being and life, he retreats.

I loved Bellamy, she’s a spitfire and fiercely protective of her friendships and those that she loves. Brandt is completely earnest and sweet, and he has a lot of love to give. And the fact that he bought Bellamy’s childhood dream house and took all of her design advice was so nice. It’s been great seeing all of the happy couples from before as well!!! And fuck you and good riddance to Ricky!

I swear Amber Kelly’s stories are like coming home for me. I have obsessed and loved the Poplar Falls series since book one and finally getting Brandt’s story is just icing on the cake. This story was yet again, another compelling romance that Amber Kelly has brought so beautifully to this series. The way everything was described just warmed my heart in the best of ways. I loved the passion and emotional connection between Brandt and Bellamy, and could not get enough of their beautiful love story.

Fragile Hearts was a story that brought all the heart flutters and sighs, and definitely hit the spot. I loved seeing Brandt and Bellamy’s relationship progress and heat up to incendiary levels. I loved their instant connection, the spark and their full-on lust/love relationship. It was smart, sexy, sweet, and so very satisfying. Even when it looked like things weren’t quite going to be as happily ever after as I thought.

This beautiful story touched me so hard. It was sexy, emotional, poignant and filled to the brim with the sexy chemistry and banter that I live for. This was another gold star hit in this incredible series.

Fragile hearts is the fourth book in the Poplar falls series that brings us the story of a group of friends / family from a small town falling in love. And I really liked this book even though it wasn't my favorite in this series.

Here is the story of the new vet in town, and for those like me who read the previous book, she was intrigued because she could see that Brandt was still hurt by something from his past. He is a character that is easy to like right away: he carries with him a guilt of something that happened in his past, he loves animals and dedicates his life to them, he is a good man and when he meets Bellamy he starts to think that he can have a second chance.Bellamy is a character that is also easy to like, she is fun, one of those characters that I would easily see myself being friends with. Both characters are great and I loved their moments together, and how they formed a friendship easily. I just wish I had more of their moments as a couple.

This is the reading I needed at the moment after some time without reading. This book is light, romantic and sweet. I finished this reading already hoping for the next book in this series.

Bellamy has returned to Poplar Falls after finishing her degree in Animal Science. She has a job prospect lined up in Denver at the end of the summer, but plans to stay in her hometown until then. Bell learns that Brandt, the local vet, needs some extra hands in his office while his mom visits home in Oregon and Bellamy quickly accepts the temporary position.

Brandt is relatively new to Poplar Falls. He moved from Oregon with his mother after something tragic happened in his past. He opened his own veterinary practice. He’s desperate for some help and is grateful for Bell’s assistance.

The more time Bell & Brandt spend together, the more it’s clear there’s a connection between them. But Brandt is closed off to relationships and Bell is planning to move after summer ends. They could have something great, but they could be holding themselves back from true love and happiness.

Fragile Hearts by Amber Kelly is book 4 in the Poplar Falls series. This reminded me so much of book 1–Rustic Hearts—which is my favorite book in this series so far. It has a tortured, damaged hero who learns to accept love again. Like with all the books in this series, Fragile Hearts is about more than just our romantic couple. We follow along with all the other Poplar Falls characters we know and love. But unlike the last two books, we do get a little more buildup of the relationship between our two MCs. I hope that Amber Kelly decides to continue this series because there are several characters that deserve a love story! 4/5 stars.

Now that I’ve completed book four, I can officially say this is one of my favourite small-town romance series. It captures that warm and comforting feeling of family like no other.

Recently graduated from college and sights set on her dream job in Denver, an unexpected betrayal sends Bellamy back home to Poplar Falls. With nothing but time on her hands and a knowledge of animal science, Bellamy offers help to Brandt, the handsome, new veterinarian.

Still grieving from his own loss, fearful of losing someone again, Brandt was a guarded but absolutely gentle hero. After glimpses of him in book three, it warmed my heart to see him welcomed with open arms into the community and friendship circle. He is the perfect fit.

From tending to farm animals to house demolition projects, I loved every single scene with Bellamy and Brandt together. Always with a touch of suspense in each book, that satisfying exit of a particular character has me hopeful for more in this series. Because let’s be honest, I could read about these characters again and again.

This book is book #4 in this series Poplar Falls Series and is a beautifully written small town romance that you wont be able to take your eyes of of. These two characters were meant to be and when two people meet that are meant to be the magnetic pull between them is strong.

Brandt needs to start over and has come to Poplar Falls for a new fresh start, he's been through so much and you cant help but hold your heart for all that he has been through. He cant stop thinking about he past and what happened and its affecting how he's thinking now because of his guilt.
Bellamy life's seems to be going all good, she's just graduated and is now moving back to be with the family for the summer and then she wants to start living her dream with her perfect job.
What she doesn't expect at all is for anything to happen during this summer and when it does her life changes forever.

This book will have your emotions all over and this author has written a beautiful story with such sweet characters that I was really rooting for throughout, they feel so vulnerable in my mind when I was reading them that this book will truly have your heart aching because it really is about two fragile hearts, this title is so perfect. I also loved all the other characters in this book and I thought the way this author has put them all in was awesome. The connection between them both was awesome. And they both came into each others lives just at the right time. I love this authors writing style and this book was a beautiful. I really enjoyed reading this book and will defiantly look out for more of this authors work in the future.

"I know i'm in love with you because, for the first time in a long time, I'd rather be awake than asleep."

Small town romances are definitely my comfort reads and this series has been such a great escape from reality so far, sweet romances, adorable animals, softest male characters, strong female character and the cutest families. Poplar falls has everything you need!!!

So this book is about Bellamy, Myer's little sister, she has been such an entertaining character throughout this series i couldn't wait for her book. And she finally got her own happy ending with Brandt ummm i was so excited for this cause our favorite vet has been one of the softest character and him getting with a girl like Bellamy was everything that he needed. Their romance was sweet, but they got their angsty moments, Brandt was dealing with the loss of his wife, and he was scared of starting something with Bel. Thankfully Bellamy was always there for him making him get out of his comfort zone and see that his wife death wasn't his fault.

Of course in this book we once again saw our favorite group of friends, giving us few of the best chapters of this book and making us miss them. Books with strong female friendship always make me happy and these girls are everything!!! Bellamy's family love her so much they definitely act like she's still a little girl, but they can't help it....I hope we get a book about Sonia because it was heartbreaking seeing her husband treat her like this :(

AND i will not stop campaigning for my Charlotte and Payne book I WILL NOT AMBER KELLY IS YOU SEE THIS PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!

This book was so sweet. Like hurt your teeth because of all the sugar sweet. Bellamy and Brandt were really nice, and the friendship they formed was really sweet as well.. But that's really all it was for me. There was no big conflict, no angst, and not really overwhelming love. These two didn't really have that much passion for one another (at least in my opinion) This was just a really light, easy read.. but I just wish it was more.

I can see why others are going to love this book, but it just wasn't for me.

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions.**

Cliche be damned. Small town living delivers big sized heart. Kelly is a master at captivating storytelling. In the blink of an eye my emotions got away from me.

4⭐️ .5🌶️

This series hits the spot if you’re looking for an easy and quick small town story. All the characters are likable and they take up a lot of the book, but at least there’s no silly schtick with any of them. That being said the romances definitely feel secondary to the overall story and when time is finally dedicated, it’s pretty low angst.

Bellamy and Brandt were sweet and the connection between them was told nicely. Brandt hasn’t fully moved on from the tragic death of his wife and carries some guilt but it’s not necessarily obvious and he’s not grumpy. It only manifests when he feels history might repeat itself and there’s a slight separation. Throughout I liked Bellamy as a heroine. Soft in the right places but also not weak; she stood up for self and what she wanted.

Nothing particularly wow worthy, but enjoyable nonetheless. Will read another when I’m on the mood for this vibe.

How the hell does this book have so many high ratings? There was barely a romance between the 52125 friends and family. They met, there were zero sparks, no chemistry, no tension and then suddenly they kissed and voila! LOVE! HOW?

Having read the preceding 3 books in this series, I've noted that this author has a thing for drunken first kisses. I'm fairly certain that every couple shared their first kiss after consuming copious amounts of alcohol - like to the point of not being able to walk straight. I don't think that's particularly sexy or romantic. I like the idea of my characters knowing what they're doing and being able to remember it clearly the next morning - unless that's a part of the actual plot. In this case, drinking to excess is par for the course since all the characters don't seem to understand moderation. Anyway, that's a personal gripe and others may feel differently.

Brandt as a hero was pretty forgettable. There was nothing remotely interesting about him. Bellamy wasn't any better. There was no relationship here and it's so frustrating. All the telling and none of the showing. If a couple goes for dinner, let us into that moment. We want the conversation, the banter, the laughter, the sharing, the awareness of a growing attraction. None of this happens. Scenes between the leads are glossed over only to go into extreme depth about a birthday party for a side character that doesn't even include the hero! FFS! How does this do anything to move the LOVE STORY along?? And to be clear, I don't hate the side characters, I just think they get way too much time on page and it detracts from the story I signed up to read.
