An awesome guide for someone whom had left this hobby crafting crochet for more than 2 years. I got to brush back my basic skills in this fine yarnish art.

Single crochet rows
Single crochet fabric is firm and dense. It works particularly well in any project where you desire a firm, warm, solid fabric.
To make single crochet fabric, work chains to the desired width and then work one chain more for a turning chain. Skip the first chain, then make a single crochet into each chain to the end. Turn the work.
Next row: Ch 1, SC into each sc to end. Turn the work.
Repeat the ;AST row to form the pattern.

This book is like the Bible for crochet and troubleshooting. This is a book that needs to be a part of my crochet kit. I will definitely be purchasing a copy of this book. I borrowed it from my local library and now I have to have it. The explanations and step by step pictures are amazing!

Crochet Trouble-shooting

Great book for strengthening your crochet skills. Easy to understand and follow. Not a pattern book but rather a helpful guide

I found that much of what I have read in other books on crochet was also present here, so I think it would be a great book for beginning crocheters just starting to learn. I also found the section "Techniques from Start to Finish" had things in it (like crocheting special shapes) could be good for beginners, intermediate crocheters and probably as a reference for more advanced crocheters.

Like another reviewer, I was a bit confused why there would be a picture 'gallery' of completed projects without the patterns for at least a few of them being included in the book, but there are a number of website resources at the back of the book, so perhaps that is where the patterns can be found?

Overall, I liked the layout and the explanations.

Fairly small book on the basics of crochet. It's okay but there are much better resources out there with more content and even crochet patterns. There is none of that here, neither garment patterns nor stitch patterns. Many of the "gallery" pieces of completed work is pretty ugly. I'll pass on this one but a true beginner might like it...

Good beginner book. Good pictures & descriptions. Covers just about everything materials, basic stitches, & reading patterns to shaping, edges/border, trims/embellishments to finishing & blocking. I would recommend this to beginning crocheters & as a reference for experienced crocheters.

A fairly disappointing book. Much of this is covered in other resources, so there's very little that's new here. Furthermore, photographs are shown of finished projects, but no patterns or links to patterns are given.
