What if the woman who barges into your life is the one threat you can’t eliminate?

Evangeline Porter thought she was meeting the contact who offered to help her. Instead, she finds herself trapped with a man who’s equal parts paranoia and precision, holding her at gunpoint and questioning her every move. He’s not what she signed up for, and definitely not someone she can trust. But finding her brother means relying on a man who clearly wants nothing to do with her.

Knight Chambers likes his world neat, secure, and free of unnecessary complications. So when a stranger breaks into his apartment with stolen access codes and a story about a missing brother, he does what anyone in his line of work would do—chains her to a radiator and demands answers. He’s not the ally she was supposed to meet. He’s not even supposed to be involved. But now that she’s unleashed a virus in his systems, walking away isn’t an option.

With threats closing in, and the virus spreading, their only hope lies in working together. He needs her out of his system. She needs the truth.

But the deeper they dig, the more tangled the web becomes—and escaping it might cost more than either of them is willing to pay.

If you are looking for gentle romps through the flowers, with lovers holding hands and never making mistakes, then my books are not for you.

I don't write heroes or heroines, I write people with baggage, history and problems. My characters are flawed, they're messy, they make disastrous mistakes that are hard to come back from. My stories are not sweet or kind, they are dark and, at times, cruel. They deal with uncomfortable subjects and I do not apologise for it.

If you like plot twists, characters you don't think you'll ever grow to love but eventually do, sarcasm, dark paths and messy relationships, then come on in. The water may be deep and shark-infested, but I know the way out ...I promise.

Well, That Escalated Quickly!

Knight Chambers.
Tall, broad, tattooed.
He is an elite hacker who is paid well for his services.
He keeps to himself, staying inside his fortress.
A fortress fortified with locks, codes, and walls.
“No one gets in. No one gets out. Not unless I allow it.”

Evangeline Porter.
Dark haired, desperate, determined.
Her brother has gone missing.
The police have written his disappearance off to work stress.
She’s made an online connection with someone willing to help her.

Neither is expecting what happens when Eva arrives at Knight’s location. They have a severe dislike and mistrust of the other which lasts for quite a bit of time. He’s not used to anyone being in his space and she is a major disruption to his order.

L. Ann did a great job writing Knight’s computer nerd comments. They made me laugh and I loved his snarky a$$. Eva is a strong female character. She didn’t break with all she’d been going through and she was able to give as good as she got. I love the fact that she never settled for less in any of the situations she found herself in. The banter between them had me laughing, because it was so nerdy at times, which fit the scenes perfectly.

I was hooked from the start.
My Kindle couldn’t keep up with the speed I was flipping through pages. L. Ann has a habit of dragging me right into scenes with her writing and she did it again with Knight. My heart was racing while I tried to stay quiet and regulate my breathing during the scene when Knight and Eva were attempting to get out. I’m not saying more for fear of spoilers, but I felt like I was RIGHT THERE with them.

I wasn’t sure how technical this book would get with Knight being a hacker, but it is presented in a way that I (official unknowledgeable tech person) could still follow. L. Ann knows how to deliver the details in a way that educates while entertaining. I felt like I was there learning along with Knight.

Although Knight is the final book in the Chambers Brothers series, it can be read as a standalone.
If you enjoy a slow burn, suspense themed, stay on the seat of our pants storyline, check out this book.

If that’s isn’t what you enjoy, you still need to read this so you can experience it.

L. Ann, I know we have a love/hate relationship and it really shows with this book…I love your stories but I hate the way you make me want to throw my kindle. It’s only because I have learned through years of restraint and the fact I don’t want to have to wait a couple of days for a new kindle, that I haven’t thrown my kindle due to reading one of your stories. For those of you that are new here, hi, welcome, to the twisted mind games L. Ann gets a kick out of playing; but don’t get it twisted, what she breaks she fixes which is why I love her.

This is the third story on the chamber brothers series (all named after a chess piece, which is 🤌🏻). This is Knight’s story. This story sucked me in from the prologue and kept my attention until I read it all within a day. My eyes are bleeding but I throughly enjoyed it! Knight is the most stubborn of the 3 brothers, I believe, so of course he had to have a stubborn female as a counterpart. I am super impressed with the hacker lingo and skills in this book. I don’t know anything but you sure sucked me into that world. The pacing of this book was fast too. I didn’t ever feel like there was a moment that was “dull” or “boring” for lack of better terms to use. Every Chamber’s bros. book I’ve read, I’ve said “it’s this one! This one is mine” and this story was no exception. So since I can’t choose one, I’ll choose them all. Please and thank you!!!! Job well done L. Ann 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Listen I love Book 1 and Book 2 This one.. not so much. Is just very very very repetitive.
I stopped at 58% chapter 43. I just couldn't take it anymore.
We have Eva who's brother all of sudden disappeared w/out a trace. No one can find him or any information on him. While continuously searching for him online  (3wks later) she starts talking to his guy named Knight. He makes her feel safe and she ends up trusting him to the point that she decides to go to his house (1st time meeting) at 3am. (Yea 3 am to meet a complete stranger) Come to find out that Knight has never talked to her and he thinks she hacked into his place. He handcuffed her to the radiator in the bathroom where she spent over 24hrs there getting cut by the handcuffs. Heathens finds her phone and realizes she is just a pawn in this game from his mentor Victor who he thought died in jail. From here are chapters after chapters of him searching the computer and moving here and there and saying Victor did and then Victor didn't do it. I got tired of all this. He is a jerk and treats her really badly and she is stupid to continue to stay with him and then on top of EVERYTHING they start having feelings toward each other. I didn't like this story at all!!!

Overall, this book was similar to the first one in the trilogy. I didn’t really like it and it felt very flat for me.

For the start, I am someone who can often see both sides of the story, which I could in this book.

At first, you just want to shake the MFC and say wake up. However, if you actually take time to think through the psychological components of manipulation and catfishing, it all makes sense. I had a lot of empathy for the MFC and no longer wanted to shake her when I took a step back to really think through this character. The author did an excellent job representing what can really happen with manipulation via online communication and how quickly that can happen.

For the MFC, she was isolated and so desperate to find her brother, she was easily manipulated. I don’t mean that as a weakness or am saying she’s unintelligent, truly, anybody can be manipulated. I’m just saying that, because of the emotional state she was in, she was someone who was in a more vulnerable place to be manipulated. It was very clear that the people who were manipulating her knew she would be a good candidate to help them achieve their goals. Because of how hooked she got into the manipulation, she was unable to see the reality for what it was, even when facts were presented to her. For example, other people start calling the MMC Knight and she still wondered where the real Knight was. Unfortunately, she could not challenge her own assumptions and it took A LOT of challenging from the MMC to get her out of her unrealistic thoughts.

Despite this, at times, I thought I was reading about a teenager or young adult, not a woman.
- For example, she cannot read the room and just continues to ask questions after questions. She knows that the MMC is working hard to get the answers, but she doesn’t learn to let him have his space.
- Then, she was embarrassed about what happened between them (a kiss) and so she pretended to sleep to avoid him, and he had to call her out on this. I completely got why he was irritated with her.
- Then, the MMC repeatedly told her that she’s in danger from whoever was playing this game with her. She went along with the MMC most of the time, but then she kept going back to how she needed to go home. He had to again tell her why it was not a good idea. Literally, she learned that someone was monitoring her house and manipulating her to get what they wanted out of her. Yet, she’s blindsided by the fact that it’s not safe to go home and he has to remind her multiple times of this. Goodness, woman listen to the expert.
- Then, she got all mad because he left her behind to go on a very dangerous mission. She threw a tantrum, saying she’s not a little girl and they should’ve brought her with. She was a librarian who was isolated and had zero skills with handling weapons or defending herself. She made it all about how he did not trust her. She became hyper focused on this. This was incredibly childish of her and I was so irritated with her. She had zero insight that it was not about trust, it was about her limitations and not putting everyone else at risk because she didn’t have any skills, at all. Then, Knight is shot twice, they escape and get back to the safe house, and the first thing she says is that they left her behind and she was angry… Gosh, I hated how immature she was.

Now, the MMC. He was a reclusive, very private man who was paranoid. So, to have this woman just walk into his house, I could see why he was immediately on edge and trying to protect himself. He’s a heavily trained man with a huge history of trauma/violence and people out to get him because of his professional, so he immediately went to the worst case scenario. He then challenged the MFC and she kept telling him that he was not himself. I could see why he was completely irritated with her and proceeded forward being very cold. I am a more blunt, less emotional person, so these more blunt less emotional, yet still have emotions, MMC’s are my kind of men! Despite this, the MMC was also really immature. He saw any emotion as weakness and vulnerability, so he just pushed everybody away and could not tolerate any emotion. When he did start to feel emotions, he immediately avoided them. His emotional immaturity was very low and I found him incredibly irritating the last 10%.

The relationship: Unfortunately, despite the MMC becoming more vulnerable with the MFC, he continued to be this very rigid jerk. It took the MFC standing up for herself and holding thick boundaries with him about what he needed to do to get her back. I was really proud of her for this. Further, unfortunately, I was not buying any true connection between the two. I didn’t feel any chemistry or attraction between the MCs.

Something I really loved was seeing the brothers together on a mission. This was so fun to have them all in one book, finally! I giggled when there was the comment about how Knight had praise for his brother but would rather eat glass than tell him 😂

Overall, the plot was slow and boring. It was the same thing over and over again. The MC’s are held up somewhere, the MMC is looking at code, the MFC is just sitting to the side, and then they moved to another site. Rinse and repeat.

Fortunately, this book only had licking lips mentioned three times, which was a very, very significant decrease from the last two books!

A note on the precautions that I feel should be taken before picking up a book by L.Ann.

Clear your calender for at least 48 hours.

Set alarms for anything that can not be missed like feeding children.

Remove all breakables.

Organise a soft landing place for your e reader

Ensure emotional support is available.

once all the above precautions have been complied with buckle in and prepare for the ride..... and this ride starts with a bang and just keeps getting better.

Knight was so worth waiting for.

Highly recommended, enjoy.

What an amazing read. I’ve been waiting for Knight’s story for what seems like forever. Oh my gosh, I am not disappointed. I was gripped from the first page and I could not put this book down.
This story is so original, I was hooked on the intricacy, mystery and level of detail throughout.
Knight is a hacker and always wary of people but the way Evangeline enters his life takes distrust to a whole new level! I love the slow burn of this one, and it is very slow but also so worth it…
This is the final book in the Chambers Brothers series but I am hoping we get to read more from them!

I love me a Chambers brother but I think Knight has hit the top spot, the brooding, straight face and sarcasm, but also the vulnerability. I just love him.

From the wonderful characters to the fast changing plot that had me in the edge of my seat throughout, I could not get enough. I blew through the pages trying to hang on to my emotions and there was allot of those.
I don't want to say anything that will spoil it because you need to feel everything this book draws out of you.
It's a must read.

☆3.5 rounded up
Desperate to find her missing brother, Eva gains a friendship of a stranger on the internet who tells her he might be able to help find her brother. She goes to his house to meet him and ends up being handcuffed in the bathroom while some mad man insists that she’s not been talking to Knight. The man who took her captive? That's Knight, and he has no idea who this woman is or who she's been talking to. He's going to have to find out in order to save them both.
I enjoyed this book for the most part, I mean that in the best way I can. I just think this one wasn't for me. It was more like an action movie in a book with a romance subplot. There were lots of fun explosions and action scenes. I struggled to find the emotional connection between the characters. The slow burn was slow feeling, and the spice parts felt that it lacked chemistry. I was happy to see the other brothers come back and make an appearance.

Knight is my favorite Chamber brother. I love his snark and humor. I love how he was vulnerable for Eva. This is my favorite book of the series. I’m sad that the series is over but I look forward to seeing cameos of the brothers in other books. I now need to do a full re-read of the series.

Eva is a strong FMC which I love! She is on the hunt trying to find out what happened to her brother when she meets Knight, a very good hacker.

I really enjoyed learning a little about the computer world and technology. This was something new to me and was very well written!

Oh my goodness, I have been waiting on this third Chambers brother book for what feels like forever, and Lee did not disappoint! With a brilliant hacker, a nerdy librarian searching for her missing brother, and a setup, this book will keep you on your toes from the first word to the last. And getting to glimpse Rook and Bishop in their respective relationships? Absolute perfection! Five stars, once again!

🔥 “She's become essential to my code.”
~~~
Eva is so wonderful! She might appear quiet and unassuming at first but Eva is anything but that. I loved her strength, compassion and courage and the fact that she didn’t back down from the challenges thrown her way. Even more, I loved that she never hesitated to stand up for herself and her fierceness and determination in her search for her missing brother, even when everyone else has given up. And she’s so sassy! Eva is an amazing woman and I loved her so, so much!
And then, there’s Knight - a brooding, controlling and brilliant hacker with trust issues who’s definitely not a people’s person and lives a reclusive life under many layers of security. And his default setting is biting sarcasm. But there’s more to Knight than meets the eye. Because underneath all the snark there’s a man who’s loyal, badass, caring and fiercely protective. Knight is an incredible man and I adored everything about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Eva and Knight! In search for his brother, Eva ends up at Knights fortress only to discover that the man who’s been so nice and helpful to her is not real. Moreover, she brings quite the trouble in Knight’s life. I absolutely adored those two together! From the very beginning, their chemistry was fantastic and the tension between the two - palpable. And I couldn’t get enough of their banter, bickering and bold comebacks. Knight and Eva also made an awesome team, together seeking the truth about everything happening in their lives. Even more, the more time they spent together, the more neither of them could resist the undeniable attraction. I just loved how Eva managed to get underneath all of Knight’s defences and walls surrounding his heart. She was truly a Glitch in his system who was about to change everything. And when they finally gave into the undeniable need, the passionate moments they shared were so hot! Eva and Knight were absolutely perfect for each other and I couldn’t get enough of either of them!
In addition, the storyline was fantastic! Much is happening and nothing is what it seems. With all the unexpected discoveries and turns of events, I was glued to the pages till the very end, excited to see how everything will be resolved. Even more, seeing the three Chambers brothers working side by side in all their badass glory was spectacular!
Overall, the story is another stellar addition to the series and a fantastic series finale! It’s filled with non-stop action, danger, suspense, intrigues, twists, drama, humor, smoking-hot passion and awesome characters.
I loved it!
Chambers Brothers Triology Book 3
Happy Publication Day!!!
My Review:
My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Genre: Romance/Technothriller
Pages: 410
Publication Date: April 18, 2025
Tropes:
💻Forced proximity
💻Mistaken identity
💻Abduction
💻Slow Burn
💻Hermit
💻Found Family
First off everyone needs to read this book! It literally had me on the edge of my seat from the first page to the last. It can be read as a standalone but it would be best if you read Rook and Bishop first to get to know the three brothers and their business.
Book 1 - Rook
Book 2 - Bishop
Book 3 - Knight
Knight is as of now my favorite brother. He is the most complex and to do what he does I swear he is also a genius. He is a hacker and can read the most in-depth layered code. And of course he can also write it. He prefers solitude over people. His home is a literal fortress.
Then one day Evangeline enters his fortress after entering all the different codes to gain access. The result is her being handcuffed to his radiator as he works on figuring out how she obtained all his codes that only he knew.
The results of which start Knight, Evangeline, Rook and Bishop on a dangerous undercover journey to stop a virus and rescue two lives.
To find out who they try to rescue, who wrote the virus, who gained access and stole Knights codes, who sent Evangeline to him and why. Be prepared. This book is action packed and you will not be able to put it down!
I highly recommend!!!
L. Ann's Knight was high-octane entertainment with a plot twist on every page!
Knight Chambers was a bit of a mysterious recluse in the first two books of the Chambers Brothers Trilogy building up curiosity about him. Knight, like his brothers, had a dark quality but he came off as a bit more of a wildcard in the direction of how his character would go. Ruthless and intelligent Knight was a fierce opponent. Evangeline Porter was a character whose unassuming and quiet demeanor held a wealth of courage and strength. Her loyalty and compassion were a wonderful contrast to the detached and gruff Knight.
Both Knight and Eva served as a catalyst to bring each other out of their self imposed shells. The development of their intuitive understanding of each other was well done by this author and allowed this couple the ability to find someone who they could be vulnerable with. Their interactions were full of sarcasm and bold comebacks keeping their relationship feisty! The desperate pull Knight and Eva had toward each other mimicked the danger of their situation to perfection!
With dizzying intent L. Ann's strategic precision in Knight was a fantastic feat. The details and intricacy of this story were consuming. There was an impressive amount of research on this author's part to give her work an authentic feel and credibility. A well-devised suspense element powerfully drove Knight.
L. Ann is an author full of surprises in her vast repertoire of works. The intensity and angst of her characters is one of her signature traits as a writer. L. Ann's addictive and innovative imagination shines in Knight for a brilliant finale to the Chamber Brothers Trilogy!
*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. *
*While this book can be read as a standalone reading the previous book in this series first would enhance the overall reading experience.*
The third in the Chambers Brothers series we finally meet the mysterious Knight. Rook and Bishop are the brothers who are overtly dangerous, Knight is the one who is just as dangerous but quietly so.
A hacker, he has locked himself in a world of code and programming, the one place he can control without question and he has no need for the outside world.
That is until Evangeline arrives at his fortress apartment, letting herself into his world apparently with his permission. Her brother has gone missing and she is convinced Knight has offered to help find him.
So it begins these two are polar opposites, and the forced proximity makes for an amazing story, full of intrigue and danger and all the while the sparks and snarks between them is fantastic. Evangeline is drowning in heartbreak and despair and Knight uses sarcasm and wit to navigate situations he can't control. The two had me literally teetering on the edge of madness, reading a story that I was sure was going to push me over the edge any minute. I held my breath through most of the book and couldn't put it down because the story pulls you along at such a fantastic pace, another twist or danger waiting on the next page.
This sadly the last in this series and what a way to finish. This can be read as a standalone but I would honestly urge you to read Rook and Bishop. You absolutely need to grab Knight, it is such an amazing ride, everything I hoped Knight would be and so much more.
I find it interesting how when I think L. Ann cannot make a more interesting character, she drops a new book. I love Rook and Bishop, the first two books in the Chambers Brothers Trilogy. They are both strong, smart, sexy, remarkable men. Knight is no different. He is smart, precise, maybe a touch paranoid (haha, he has to be), and his sarcasm is top tier! He likes his world how he wants it and doesn't want anyone coming into it unless he invites them. Well, things don't always go according to plan. Even someone with his computer skills and knowledge.
Evangeline just wants her brother back. He went missing, and despite her best efforts, nobody will help. Then, she meets a man online, and she is given hope. Things go sideways when she shows up at Knight Chambers' home expecting help but ends up being held prisoner.
The duo clash constantly as Knight's world, and Evangeline's, is turned upside down. What was supposed to be an easy meeting to find Evangeline's brother turns into a wild adventure with countless twists and turns. The relationship between Knight and "Glitch" is tense, humorous, and so much more. I read this book in under 24 hours. All of the technical jargon was impressive and painted an incredible visual picture in my head of everything that happened. Every time I thought I knew what was going on, I was proven wrong. This was a completely engrossing book from start to finish! Highly recommend.
The final series in this book and probably my favorite. It can be read as a standalone, but so much better if the first two books are read first. The Chamber brothers are something fierce. The hitman (Rook), the fixer (Bishop), and finally the hacker (Knight)…like the chess pieces they are named after. The family is like a solid unit on a chessboard. Strategic, tactical, precise, secure, controlling, protective…I could go on and on to describe them. They live in a world full of danger, but I love how they protect each other with a fierceness. No questions asked, they are there for each other and those they love.
I was “watching” this book like a movie. Each action I could “see” in my mind how it was playing out. I loved every second of it and was trying to read slow because I wanted to savor all the action and what each character was feeling. I could have read this in one sitting, but I didn’t want it to end. Knight and Evangeline were the perfect match and I could really relate to Knight and to Evangeline because my hubby is a computer geek. Knight has his defenses up at all times. His firewalls are up literally. He lives in a fortress and he’s a hermit. Nothing gets past him. Then his whole world comes crashing down when Evangeline enters the picture. It was such a ride seeing him slowly break down those walls. I loved every minute of it.
Knight has been an inigma wrapped in paranoia and mystery that had me waiting in heightened anticipation of getting an insight into his head. I think he might be my favorite of the chambers brothers? Though that does tend to be biased to whoever is on the page in fairness.
Knights' inner monolougue is addictive. His whit and humor are right up my street, dry sarcasm and deadpan humor match his precise controlled personality. Though, that control is tested when a threat concealed in the innocent little package of evanagline stroles right into his life. She steps up to the challenge at every turn and becomes as emersed in the dangerous game they are forced into as knight is.
Tensions run high, and the togs in my brain were basically steaming with the amount of overtime they were putting in trying to figure out how the puzzel pieces slotted together. The writing is annimated and descriptive in a way that transports you into the heart of the choas. I had sensory overload and emotional turmoil, this became my reality . I had no choice but to follow along for the action-packed ride.
It's been 4 days since I was sucked into the chambers brothers orbit. 3 books later, and it doesn't feel like enough. At this point, i'm fully on auto pilot with sleep exhaustion, but I was so fully invested in this world that this was the only viable option, really. I regret nothing!
I ate this up. I could’ve read this in one sitting if life didn’t get in the way! I was hooked from start to finish. I’ve been waiting so long for Knights book and it was definitely worth the wait. Knight is full of snark and sarcasm and I think he’s my favourite Chambers brother.
This is Knight and Eva’s book, Eva is looking for her missing brother and has been in contact with a hacker online called Knight who has been helping her. When he asks her to meet him in person Eva says yes.
But when she gets to Knights home things are not what they seem.
Eva finds herself face to face with a man, his gun pointed at her demanding to know how she managed to get into his fortress. The same man who handcuffs her to a radiator.
Knight Chambers is very particular in his ways, he’s more comfortable surrounded by his computers than people. But when he finds a stranger in his home, a stranger who has the access codes to his VERY secure home he chains her to his radiator in his bathroom. Someone is trying to hack his systems and and his new house guest in a prime suspect.
The chemistry between knight and Eva was so good!!
I honestly didn’t want this book to end, I can’t say too much because spoilers!!
You 100% need to read this.
“Knight” is the 3rd book in the “Chambers Brothers series”
I adore this author and anything she writes, L Ann will always keep you on your toes when it comes to her stories.
Evangeline has been searching for her missing brother only to find that she’s not having much luck to his whereabouts and doesn’t even know if he’s okay. Evangeline is given hope when she starts to talk to a man she meets online. When she goes to meet up with the man she met online she finds herself in a situation she wasn’t expecting.
Knight has found an intruder in his home and he is determined to find out why a strange woman is in his safe space.
Knight’s story was a thrilling adventure that I couldn’t stop reading. I was hooked right from the very first page to the very last. I adored knight, his sarcasm and his banter with Evangeline was everything. I adored the chemistry they both shared and I can’t recommend this story enough.
I would recommend you read the other books in this series before reading “knight” as you could find it abit confusing.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
This book I feel has been a long time coming. When we first heard about the girl in the bathroom I was turning pages thinking: what happened? Is she still there? Finally we have answers and what answers they are. This book is something I’ve not really read before, the talk of hackers and systems way beyond my paltry knowledge, and Knight? Just a ‘hole of the highest order! I mean I love Rook and Bishop, they are prime book boyfriend material so what happened to Knight that made him so mean! Didn’t stop me reading though, literally found myself flipping pages before I’d finished the page before and having to go back to reread. I don’t think I have ever flipped through a book as quick as this one. It is fast paced, full of funny quick snark and has characters that you WILL fall in love with. Yes that includes Knight.
If there is one thing I’ve learned it is that Lee Ann is a genius for the high level of detail in the hacker stuff alone. This is an absolute must read, whilst you’re at it though, read Bishop and Rook too, you won’t regret it!
What an intense read! This book had me flipping pages so fast and always wanting more. The author took us into a world filled with lines of code and secrets. Knight was such a complex character. He embodied every hacker I have ever met from his broodiness to his distrust of people and his feelings about cat memes. Evangeline was both desperate at times and confrontational and I could not get enough of her. She was able to adapt and not back down. The story that the author gave us had so many twists and turns I was unable to guess what would happen next. The romance was perfect and fit exactly within the story. I am always impressed by the depth of the story that the author can weave and this one was no exception. She wove each piece of information into the story like a hacker imbeds his signature into his code, subtly and with intention. I read this story twice just because I devoured it so fast!
I absolutely loved this it’s a spicy slow burn with forced proximity and tension. With a determined FMC who just wants to find her missing brother and a hacker MMC who uses sarcasm and the fortress he built to keep him from vulnerabilities. I loved these characters Eva is determined, sweet and a bit naive. I enjoyed seeing her evolve and learn from Knight so she wouldn’t end up in another situation where she was manipulated and taken advantage of again. Knight was such a fun character to read he’a a genius hacker, sarcastic a-hole and had a quip ready for anyone in any situation. I’m glad once he began to see that his fortress, self isolation and living life through his computers wasn’t enough for him anymore and began to make more an effort with Eva and his family. I enjoyed their ending it was well deserved after all they’d been through, I can’t wait to see more of these characters and his brothers again in the future.
Just when I thought I’d read the best that L.Ann can write, along came Knight! I adored him and this book!
Knight was pure perfection. And exactly as I pictured he would be. Sometimes when you look forward to a character you can be disappointed, but not with Knight. His coldness, humour and sarcastic nature was everything and more of what I expected. I loved Eva too! She started quite cute and nervous , but proved herself to be a perfect match for Knight.
Rook and Bishop added to the story and I still love them. The story was entertaining, interesting and full of non stop action. I love reading hacker books and hearing all the tech speak, but Knight certainly wasn’t just a geek, although reading about his mad computer skills was hot!
I’m sad to read the last of the Chamber brothers books, but I know this is one series I will happily read again and again. 5 perfect stars.
Knight is the third book in the series about the Chambers brothers. The book can be read as a standalone, but if you want some backstory and maybe a better understanding of the brothers’ world, then read Rook and Bishop first.
Before reading the book I was sure I would hate the youngest Chambers brother Knight - solely based on what I knew about him from the two other books. That’s definitely not the case now. He might be the Chambers brother with the most layers. Each one slowly being tested and pulled away by our determined FMC Eva.
Eva is such a bad ass, and she might actually be my favourite thing about this book - besides me being a sucker for the strength of the brothers’ relationship with each other.
The book is probably the least dark book of the series, but it does not lack the intensity and suspense typical for an L. Ann book.
Definitely worth reading!
This book is the 3rd book in the Chambers Brothers trilogy and let me tell it’s as good as the other ones. All the brothers have their own unique qualities and Knight is the tech genius and lives in solitude which he values above all else. Evangeline is just trying to find her missing brother and is trying to find help anywhere she can. She finds help and comfort in a chat room that turns to one on one. They decide to meet and he gives her directions and details on how to get into his home. She is finally going to meet Knight. These two have quite the entanglement and adventures. I wanted to knock Knight over the head a time or two. But of course I loved Avangeline and Knight, they made quite the couple. I loved that the brothers are protective and loyal. This story is full of suspense, action, heartbreak and of course a hea. I loved it. I highly recommend this book as well as the other two in the trilogy.
Knight is apart of the Chambers brothers triology but can be read as a stand alone as well.
I don’t think eighter Eva or Knigjt is expecting what will happen when she reach his location. You will be able to expect both of them to have a dislike or eachother… Knigjt is not used to of like anyone to come in like a tornado to change his order in things.
All she wanted was help to find her brother, but instead it became an adventure with allots of twists and turns instead.
Everytime you think you know will happen she through you on a whole diffrent direction. She will have you on your seat and not being able to put the book down as well as it keeps you so interested to know what will happen next. This book is highly recommended you don’t be sorry!
A reclusive computer hacker. A girl with a missing brother. And a cell phone filled with late night messages that lead her right to his front door. No one's ever gotten past his walls.
Will she?
It's L. Ann so just read it. Do it. You won't be disappointed. If you've read her before, you know. If you haven't, you will pick up the whole back list.
(It's the third in a trilogy but can be read as a standalone but you want to read the others. Trust me.)
