Great first book in a series. Was a little confusing at the beginning, no back story made me feel like I was missing something. The back story comes in time throughout the book. Am excited to move on to the second one. Characters are likable. Strong female characters. What’s not to like about that?!!

I highly recommend this book! It is a captivating and well-written story that kept me engaged from beginning to end. The characters are well-developed and the plot kept me guessing until the very end. The writing style is beautiful and the pacing is perfect. Overall, this is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a great story. Five stars!
This book is a shifter series, wolves that I want to pet and cuddle but am terrified to piss off! There is just enough spice to keep you wanting to read more, the characters are amazing and I already have my favorites!
This is a strangers to lovers, enemies to lovers, shifters, romance, possible reverse harem in the upcoming books in this series and I know so much that I can’t share and it’s killing me on the inside!
OH! If you love a good cliffhanger, add this book to the list! I literally screamed am already counting down to when I can read book two!

This book was a strong start for this new series. You'd never guess that it's the debut for this new author because it was AWESOME. I totally flove the Red Rock Pack gals. They're strong women that know how to take care of business while also having a hilarious sense of humor.
The good men in this book are strong, sweet, protective and supportive, but also know that these ladies don't need a savior because they can save themselves. None of these characters are flawless people which is just another reason why I love them. They're all perfectly imperfect.
I can't wait to see what the future holds for the these Red Rock gals.

I thought this would have more action.l. This is not my cup of tea. But if you want something where it's female dominated about she wolves this is for you. Don't expect a lot of suspense.

I picked this up because the concept immediately caught my attention: an all-female wolf pack led by a woman who built her power from the ground up, and a male love interest who isn't threatened by her strength.
Charlotte was easily my favorite part of the story. She's competent, intelligent, and fiercely protective of her pack. I appreciated that her authority never felt forced - it felt earned. The pack itself was also a highlight. Seeing older women in positions of power within paranormal romance was incredibly refreshing.
The romance worked well for me because it wasn't about taming a strong woman or taking away her independence. Instead, it explored what happens when someone finally has a partner willing to share the burden without trying to control her.
I also enjoyed the themes of loyalty, found family, and leadership, and the looming pack conflicts kept the stakes high.
Overall, this was a unique take on wolf shifter romance that stands out from the crowd. I'll definitely be interested in seeing where the series goes next.

Reign of the Desert Wolf was only my second paranormal fantasy read, but wow—I was completely hooked from the very first chapter! J.D. Wolfe does an incredible job pulling readers into this world, and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. One of my favorite aspects was the role reversal dynamic, which made the story feel fresh and unique.
The story centers around a strong FMC and her “fated” mate, Liam, and the chemistry between them is undeniable. The tension, banter, suspense, and emotional moments kept me invested from beginning to end. If you love paranormal romance with a powerful heroine, plenty of sparks, and a satisfying HEA, this is definitely one to add to your TBR!

JD Wolf creates a world of wolf shifters that pulls you in and won’t let go! An all female pack struggles to keep their land. Lead by Charlotte, a strong, caring and deadly alpha. This books starts with the her pack trying to come back from having their numbers decimated by an evil alpha. I love this story that JD has created. The characters are strong women who fight for themselves and each other, and a one else they love or hold dear. Just so happens they may be adding some new members to their pack. This is part of a series so the end may have some loose ends to be addressed in the next book.

Paranormal romance/urban fantasy feel. Reign of the Desert Wolf is the very first Wolf shifter book I've read and it did NOT disappoint. Having been unsure if I'd like the shifter scene, leaving these types of books sitting on the tbr list, Im so glad I came across JD Wolfe and this book. I was drawn to her first and the book is a big bonus.
Its the first in a series and I refuse to give spoilers. This book is a story of a strong, bold and witty all female Wolf pack who faces trials, overcomes and kicks butt. Found family, unbreakable bonds, strangers to lovers. Reign of the Desert Wolf will have you feeling firece, laughing out loud, in your feels, having moments of aww and moments of heated cheeks. Ends on a cliff hanger. Finished in one sitting.
I want to add this....I came across JD Wolfe on a group page. Her wit, her humor, her love for the gift of writing, it truly shines through in her posts and comments, alone. Just imagine the books. This was a complete flip on what I normally read. But I have to say it was pretty flipping good. I loved that this was about the women. Building their own pack. Eff the men, it’s all about being a strong and connected pack. And the women. Omg, they’re hilarious. I loved the banter. It wasn’t about any one woman dominating another, but writing together and enjoying life while doing it. But of course there’s some guys tossed in. Coz, well, why not. I had a great time with the suspense, the action, and the world building. It was a great and refreshing read from what is usually the norm when it comes to shifters. Thx J. D. for letting me be a part of the pack.

Received as an ARC copy to get ready for the ARC of the 4.th book
In the beginning I did not quite feel that it would be something for me when I read the first few chapters. I wanted to give it a chance as it was something new that i am not used to read so i kept on reading.
At some point it changed and I kept reading because I wanted to know what would happen next.
It is different from what I usually read but I liked the story and have received the next couple of books and look forward to know what will happen with the pack further on.
The first book eases you into the world and the pack. It is from the alpha’s POV and Liam, a lone Wolf that passes trough. It is a good way to learn a bit about the story before getting into it last in the book to lead on to the next book

Oooo my! Shifter rom-com is always a good read but to say that I could not put the book down was an understatement. I completed it in a single go. Spice level was only 🌶️🌶️ but the author’s writing had you going back and craving more.
JD. Wolfe has created familiar characters without a long drawn out character build up which normally over take the book. Reading the book you easily associated your own kirky friends from your inner circle, without clearly the shifters (Unless I’m not part of that group chat….) with the characters.
There were some aspects that unless you are versed in shifter knowledge, might be a little overlooked but honestly even if this your first shifter read, you should be able to grasp the concept.
And, for all those who believe it will be all women power and men suck, are you in for a treat! Just strong independent women with working relationships with men.
Can’t wait to read what happens next in book 2!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a lot of fun!!
I loved the strong female characters. I've never read a book with a female alpha and was incredible. It was low on spice but definitely teases with thoughts of what is to come.
The description of the wolves was my favourite part. I loved the imagery created when they were running at night in wolf form. I loved the description of the wolf when in human form...The wolf within her stirs, restless and growly, pacing at the edges of her mind. Just loved it!!

A well written story, which gets you invested in the characters early on. You cheer as they overcome obstacles and can't wait to see what they are up to next.

This book had me at an all female pack , the bonds , the sisterhood , the lively banter and how badass the females are is amazing it’ll definitely have you feeling every emotion right along with every character , I like how although Charlotte was falling in love and finding her mate she always put her pack and the bond they have first showed a lot of strength was never scared or backed down ! and that altho Liam was also alpha very strong and possessively protective of her that he let her lead was never pushing and just gave her the space she needed to shine , a true king letting his mate be Queen , I loved Isabell and how she kept them on their toes had me laughing every time , !!The ending of the book had my emotions everywhere I cannot wait to read book two , please don’t tell me anything happens to Lucas my heart couldn’t take it for Harper !

I loved the family connection the she-wolves forged and how they prove to everyone that an all female pack can flourish.
I loved Luna the most as the shining light of chaos that she is. I hope I get to learn more about her back story in future books.
Reign of the Desert Wolf has so many unanswered questions and has left me clawing for more! A spicey wolf shifter series with fated mates, defiance and growth from "the old ways," and chaotic humour from the pack members and allies.

If you are tired of the typical "Alpha male" shifter stories where the heroine is constantly being rescued, Reign of the Desert Wolf is the breath of fresh desert air you’ve been looking for.
I enjoyed the unique take on werewolf culture. Instead of a traditional pack led by a dominant male, the story centers on an all-female sanctuary in the Nevada desert.
The book focuses heavily on healing and finding strength through community. Seeing these women reclaim their power is incredibly satisfying.
Even when male characters (like Liam) enter the picture, they have to respect the rules of the female-led pack. It flips the script on the usual "damsel in distress" trope.
Because the pack is constantly defending its borders and its freedom, there is never a dull moment.

A must read
This is a good read. Char is strong alpha woman all she wants to do is protect her pack. Her pack of women are hilarious and witty, love their strong loyalty. Was some moments I felt skipped into something else but once you get over that really was a good book!

I started Reign of the Desert Wolf by J.D. Wolfe a few days ago, and honestly, if life hadn't gotten in the way, I would have finished it in one sitting. But the family still had to be fed, and the house wasn't going to clean itself.
J.D. Wolfe did an incredible job of painting a vivid picture, not only of her characters but of the entire world she created. The storytelling pulled me in from the very first chapter, and I found myself constantly saying, "Just one more chapter."
The chemistry between the main characters was fantastic, and I loved watching their relationship unfold naturally throughout the story. The pacing was strong, the world-building was immersive, and every chapter left me wanting more.

Charlotte and Liam’s connection was impossible not to become invested in, and the balance between emotional moments, action, and spicy scenes kept me turning pages nonstop.
I especially loved the concept of the Red Rock Pack and the deeper themes surrounding strength, healing, and survival beneath all the romance and tension.
The ending absolutely leaves you needing the next book immediately.

Great first book in the series. Charlotte is a bad ass alpha who has been through a hella of a lot. She built a pack from nothing, an all female pack too. She has recently lost some due to pack wars which you find out about later in the book. But her and the remaining ladies are a strong unit and have recently bought a new place in Vegas- where Charlotte rules that territory.

I loved this book! An all female pack is something I didn’t know I needed in my life. I wanted a little more action at some points, but by the end you could see it was intentional build up for book 2. I cannot wait to read more and see what happens next! I loved the strategies employed by the characters to avoid losses. The characters feel very human and real, and the world building puts you in the story. I’m really excited to get more backstory on a couple of the characters, maybe get to see some of the things we didn’t this time around in some flashbacks. Overall, I will be reading this again, and if book two is as good, I will be finishing this series!

Great book to start a new series. The first in a series, Reign of the Desert Wolf introduces you to an all-female shifter pack in Las Vegas. As someone who lived there recently, love that the book is situated in a city I have loved since I was a kid. J.D. Wolfe does a great job of making the city seem like an everyday place to live rather than just a place with casinos and shows. The Red Rock Pack is amazing, with a strong female alpha finding love while defending her territory. Must read for those who like strong female leaders and those interested in shifter books.
