When passion meets danger, will they fight the fire… or fuel it?
Kendall Wilde has fire in her veins—literally and figuratively. A dedicated firefighter, she thrives in the heat of the flames, saving lives and fighting to protect what others hold dear. But her passion for firefighting clashes with her father’s Hollywood ideals. As a legendary movie producer, he’s always seen her career choice as beneath her potential. Between grueling shifts and her father’s constant disapproval, serious relationships have always taken a back seat—until a blind date with an icy filmmaker sparks a connection she didn’t see coming.
Sloane Pierce is a powerhouse in the world of documentaries, her name synonymous with award-winning films that tackle the toughest subjects. With her heart locked away behind a fortress of ambition, she doesn’t do attachments—or blind dates. But when Kendall strides into her life, all confidence and raw energy, Sloane lets her guard slip for one unforgettable night. What neither of them expects is to meet again at Sloane’s media company, where Kendall’s father has commissioned a wildfire documentary—insisting Kendall join the production. Working side by side in the unpredictable, fiery wilderness is enough to ignite sparks between the two.
But with walls built high and the dangers of their work ever-present, can they trust the fire between them to burn brighter than their fears? Or will the heat of their connection consume them both? If you love steamy sapphic romance with ice queen, age-gap women, start reading today.
I think this one is my favorite of the series. Sloane is so sure of herself and what she wants. Kendall is so sweet and turns into a mess whenever she is around Sloane. They spend hour together and start to really get to know each other. Their banter is amusing and they are so hot together.
A blind date is where it all starts. Sloane’s friend talks her into going, and Kendall’s friend does the same. Kendall is a firefighter. They were forced into the blind date and just call it done before dinner, but not when Sloane decides going to Kendall’s place for dessert. A one and done. Sloane is a documentary filmmaker. They meet again when Kendall’s father funds a documentary on the wildfires and the women firefighters who fight them. Kendall is a consultant for the documentary and travels with Sloane to document both the current fires and what happens after the fire is out. Interviewing the people affected by the wildfires, what they went through and what they continue to go through as a result of the fires. Make sure you have a fire extinguisher on hand, or at least a large bottle of water to cool yourself off. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I definitely recommend this book and the others in the Firefighters of California series.
This is a rare one of the firefighters series that without any actual scenes of fighting the fire. The young firefighter Kendall teams with the middle aged accomplished documentary maker Sloane to make a documentary about female firefighters. They spend two weeks together, traveling up and down the California coast, interviewing and shooting footages, and along the way, both unexpectedly fall in love with each other. Kendall is outgoing and warm, while Sloane, still suffering from a bad breakup, is guarded and aloof, the typical ice queen. It takes me a while to really warm up to Sloane. Overall, I like this sweet romance with two independent and smart women who are brave and aren't afraid of chasing their own dreams.
This is the fourth and final book in the Firefighters of California series. I've enjoyed each and every one of them immensely, but Wildfire Women is my favorite. After a blind date neither really wanted to be on, firefighter Kendall and seasoned documentary filmmaker Sloane are forced to work together on a film about female firefighters. While Kendall and Sloane spend an extended amount of time together, we see Sloane may not be truly as icy as she seems. As in every Lauren Hart book, the characters have depth and their experiences are realistic. This was the perfect end to a fantastic series. If you're a fan of ice queen, age gap, sapphic romances, I highly recommend this one.

Kendall is a firefighter whose famous dad sets her up to make a documentary about women on the frontline fighting fires and those affected by them. Sloane is the hot but icy filmmaker tasked with making the documentary with Kendall. She’s adamant she won’t be affected by Kendall despite them having a one night stand, well one hour really, after coming out of a breakup recently. Warm hearted Kendall starts to melt her as they start filming. Water tackles fire and Sloan becomes more and more of a puddle the longer she works with Kendall. Great story, I could read these books forever so I’m hoping it’s not really the last in the series. There again so was book 4 in the lakes series….before book 5 came out 😁
If this is the final book in Lauren Hart’s “Firefighters of California” series, “Wildfire Women” is a blazing good way to close it out. Sloane Pierce, award-winning documentary filmmaker, is pretty sure she wants nothing to do with Kendall Wilde (especially after a failed blind date). Heck - Sloane never wants to see Kendall again, let alone work closely with her to produce a film about frontline female firefighters. That’s where they agree, because Kendall absolutely does not want to be involved with making a darn film, even if it is about women firefighters - in spite of the fact that Kendall is a firefighter. And really, in spite of the fact that her Oscar-winning father, legendary filmmaker Evans Wilde is footing the bill for the whole production - but only if Kendall quits her pursuit of a firefighting career. Dad wants Kendall to follow in his moviemaking footsteps. Kendall says no. But Sloane and Kendall proceed with the project, chasing California wildfires and capturing incredible video and heartrending interviews. Along the way, over weeks of crisscrossing the state, the ladies get to know each other better, and they grow closer, until they each question their feelings about the other. A phone call from Kendall’s father puts everything in jeopardy, and Kendall agonizes over what to do. Stand up to Dad? Let the film project fail? Say so long to Sloane? “Wildfire Women” is an engaging, enjoyable read, with true-to-life characters, and a believable plot (and some very sexy moments!). Lauren Hart has a way of writing characters and stories that really draw in the reader, and I was very much engaged with this entire series, “Firefighters of California”. I’m providing my honest review after receiving an ARC of “Wildfire Women”.
This book took me by surprise. I was expecting a firefighter running into the flames to save someone. Excellent twist Lauren. That being said I really enjoyed the story as it unfolded. I wasn't too keen on Sloane in the first few chapters as she came across as cold and detached, I feared that sweet Kendall was going to get her heart broken. As the two work together to make the documentary about wildfires they each begin to understand a little more about one another. Will Kendall give up fire fighting under pressure from her father when he threatens to pull the funding on the documentary, which will devastate Sloane. Read on to find out. Its worth it.
This is the blazing hot finale to Lauren's Firefighters of California series which features Kendall, a warm outgoing firefighter and Sloane, an ice queen of a documentary filmmaker. But after teaming up and spending a couple of weeks together traveling from fire to fire to put out a film documenting female firefighters, we all know what happens when you put heat to ice!!!
I really enjoyed Lauren's descriptive writing, good story and character development, and unique friends and colleagues. I think her books just keep getting better and better!
This book is so good. Kendall and Sloane get to work together creating a documentary about women affected by wildfires from first responders to residents forced to evacuate. The chemistry between them was so great I kept on going wanting to know more. The supporting characters are also very interesting. There is no dull moment throughout the book. I totally recommend this book it's absolutely worth every second you spend reading it. I received an advance review copy of this book and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Sloan and Kendal, a more than unlikely pairing, brought together in a beautiful story of u Nexpected love.
Lauren Hart has again filled my imagination with fire of the heart and in the wild! These two women are such an unlikely match that it just makes sparks fly! As they are forced to work together on a project that they clearly do not want to do together. By the end the flames between them have grown to an inferno that could kill them or fuse them. I like it when the right ending is told!
Kendall and Sloane first meet on a blind date and think that will be the end of that. Little do they know the universe has other plans in store. Kendall gets forced into the documentary by her dad, but it’s all about something she loves, fighting fires and helping others. As Sloane and Kendall work together they find more than they bargained for. With great side stories and comedic friends this story is a great read.
I really enjoyed reading Kendall and Sloane's book. After their blind date I was wondering if things were ever going to go right for these two...I love characters you can relate to, great chemistry you can feel in the author's words..the story plot was amazing, easy to get captivated in, I have enjoyed and loved this series of firefighter women and their ladies...be sure and grab your copy and start this series today!!

I loved this book, and it is now my favorite. Sloane and Kendall’s story starts out hot and only gets hotter. I am a sucker for an ice queen and Sloane does not disappoint. No matter how hard she tries she can’t resist Kendall’s charm. While this is the fourth and final book in the Firefighters of California series and it can be read alone, you really should read all four books. You won't be disappointed. Kendall is a firefighter and absolutely happy in her work. When her boss tells her that she is assigned to assist in a documentary on “Wildfire WomenL she is not sure she will embrace the challenge. When she meets the director, Sloane, a blind date from the previous week, she is definitely not enthralled. A story of two very strong women and their journeys to each other. Love the author.
Wow what a beautiful love story talk about tingles the main characters had it off the scales making you fall in love with them and cheering them on while also shouting out loud at them it's a perfect book to snuggle up too just phenomenal a must-read congratulations
The way Sloane acted towards Kendall in the beginning of the book was hard for me. But Kendall didn't give up. In the end they both fell in love with each other and they are better off for it.
