sVB Kid Programmer Level 3: Hi Turtle!

Rate this book
This is the 3rd book in the Small Visual Basic Kid Programmer series.
Small Visual Basic is an easy and fun educational language, and this book aims to prove just that, by using turtle graphics to introduce easy and rich geometric content for the 3rd-grade students and above.

Turtle programs are similar and use mostly the Move and Turn instructions of the turtle. Such repetition can help kids memorize the syntax, get used to calling methods, passing parameters, reading properties, storing values in variables, and getting familiar with distances and angles in the coordinate system.

The book also introduces some new programming skills such colors via code.Defining subroutines and parameters.Calling subroutines and passing arguments.Using loops to repeat code execution.
Furthermore, the book aims to enhance the students' math skills some geometry basics, like calculating the perimeter and area of squares, rectangles, and circles.Understanding the arithmetic operators precedence.Introducing basic properties of some polygons, such as triangles and quadrilaterals.Drawing more than 20 different geometric figures by just moving and turning the turtle around, without needing any trigonometric calculations.Generating random numbers and colors, and using them in interesting applications.Rounding decimal numbers.Converting lengths measured in pixels to centimeters.
There is a lot of fun with the turtle to have, and much geometric knowledge to gain, in such a short book.
