As the youngest Sterling sibling, finding my happily ever after is not a priority - much to my mother’s chagrin.
I’m living in the moment, I work hard and play harder. No strings attached.
So when I spot a handsome stranger at the bar, I turn up the charm and count the minutes until I can take him home.
It’s better than I imagined - our connection is explosive - the night unforgettable.
And that should’ve been it.
But a month later, the handsome stranger turns up in the most unexpected place - and that’s not the only thing.
He has a few secrets of his own - ones I’m willing to overlook as long as we wind up in bed again.
And we do.
Over and over again.
Our arrangement should have been easy until one mistake leads to another the only one losing out is me.
Because I never wanted forever - I never wanted to fall.
But one night can change everything, I just hope I’m not too late.

A romance lover and reading enthusiast, Alexandra finally began putting pen to paper shortly after graduating college. An unobtainable dream has slowly become a reality with the love and support of her friends and family and the romance community.
She currently writes steamy, small town romance with a dash of lighthearted fun and happily ever afters that will make you swoon.
One Night To Fall by Alexandra Hale is part of the multi author series, Seasons in Montana. I have not read any of the other books in this series nor have I read anything by Alexandra Hale. I was completely fine reading this as a stand alone.
Jesse Sterling is twenty four years old and is the youngest of the Sterling siblings. He has watched all of his siblings and his cousin fall in love but that’s not for him. He thinks he is too young and still has a lot of playing to do. He works hard for his family on their farm but in his free time, he plays hard. Which is just what he’s doing on one particular night in the local bar. He and a very cute guy hit it off and have a night to remember. In fact, a month later, he still hasn’t been able to forget that night and hasn’t been interested in hooking up with everyone else.
Adrian is twenty eight years old. He was in town for a job interview when Jesse approached him and he couldn’t say no. Same as Jesse, he hasn’t been able to forget that night. What Jesse didn’t know is that Adrian got the job he was applying for.
To say Jesse was surprised when he ran across Adrian again is an understatement. The way they ran across each other again is pretty funny. That same spark is still there. Just being with Adrian again breaks all of Jesse’s rules but he can’t resist. So maybe they can just have a temporary friends with benefits situation?
This really was so cute. Jesse was in complete denial that he wanted something deeper with Adrian. I loved the relationship between Jesse and his siblings. Their group chat was hilarious. I adored his mom too! This was a short, sweet, steamy novella that made me swoon. This author has a couple more MM romances that I will definitely be reading.
ARC Book Review One Night To Fall A Novella Written Bu Alexandra Hale Fiction - Romance Published October 2025 113 Pages ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is the Book 4 in the author’s Seasons of Montana Series. This one is a MM romance. The two main characters, Jesse and Adrian, have a one night stand. They meet again a month later. One would like to pursue a relationship. The other is only looking for a casual situation, friends with benefits.
I liked how Jesse’s big meddling family was supportive of his gay lifestyle. There was no judgment. Even the people in their small town in Montana were accepting of Jesse and Adrian. We need more of that.
This book was beautiful! Jesse finally found the one he couldn’t walk away from happily. It took him some time and the threat of losing Adrian to make him want to talk it out with people close to him.
His grand gesture was so sweet and so them 🥰
Jesse didn’t think he was ready for a relationship until hit smacked him in the face lol (figuratively of course)
These two were so much fun together and watching them grow together was great!
Getting to interact and see the rest of the siblings and siblings in-law was fun too!
Hard to believe that this is the last book about this family 😭
Having ripped through all the others in this series (Sooo Good!), I was really anxious to read Jesse's HEA. He has been the non-committing, "here for a good time, not a long time" kinda guy, and having his siblings and his cousin find their forevers has left him feeling odd. The found family vibes in this series are fantastic, and I love how important Harlan and Indie are, to Jesse. The banter in the family text chain are seriously entertaining, and made me feel like I was included in their feelings.
Meeting "Nate" and having one night shouldn't have been an issue. But when he shows up again, working in his sister's business, feelings he didn't want to address complicate things. Of course, Wren sees all, and as she does, and starts up with her siblings, to "help" Jesse - whether he wants it or not... hahaha.
As I had already fallen in love with all the Sterling family members in the books before this one, I loved revisiting their world, even if Jesse wasn't handling things as I had hoped he would. The two of these guys managed to find their HEA with a bunch of help from his family, and it was a great conclusion to this storyline.
Obviously, I recommend reading in order for the best experience, and once done, return to this author's catalog of unforgettable works. Worth your time, IMO. I was fortunate to receive an ARC (thank you), and I happily leave my thoughts.
What a delightful story! I absolutely loved watching the youngest Sterling finally stumble into his own happily-ever-after, even though he wasn’t looking for it. Jesse’s carefree, live-in-the-moment vibe makes him such a fun character to follow, and seeing his world get turned upside down by an unexpected connection was so satisfying. From the very first meeting, Jesse and Adrian’s spark jumps off the page. Their chemistry is electric yet tender, and I found myself smiling through every twist as their friendship deepened and their hearts tangled in ways neither planned. Adrian’s charm and guarded heart balanced Jesse’s playful energy perfectly. The mix of heat, humor, and found-family moments gave this book so much warmth. It’s the kind of romance that makes you believe in love sneaking up on you when you least expect it. Alexandra has a gift for writing quick, heartfelt reads that still deliver on plot, emotion, and spice. If you’re in the mood for a sweet but steamy romance with plenty of feels, this is absolutely one to add to your list!
ARC Review: 4 ⭐️ One Night To Fall is a Seasons in Montana Novella featuring Jesse Sterling & Adrian.
Jesse & Adrian meet at a bar and spend a night together, now a month later Jesse keeps thinking about the hot stranger he met and wishing for more.
While working with his family, Jesse falls and hurts himself. His sister suggests he go to her spa for a massage and when he shows up the new massage therapist is none other then Adrian.
They begin to spend more time together but Jesse & Adrian want different things at the moment. Jesse almost throws it all away, but will his family convince him to fight for his HEA before it’s too late ?
This novella was the conclusion of the Sterling family and I’m sad it’s over! I really loved all the characters and I’m glad they all got their HEAs!
This novella was tension filled from the beginning with a one night stand between Jesse and Adrian.
Adrian and Jesse were so down bad for each other but they don’t want to admit it. Jesse is the local playboy and Adrian is the newest resident wanting more than casual.
The friendship that blossoms between them is so natural. I loved their banter and the chemistry was soooooo hot 🤤
Alexandra Hale writes such heart felt stories that are addicting and easy must reads.
"Jesse Sterling is a force to be reckoned with, and i have no idea how I'll survive being caught in this storm."
The final Sterling sibling's story is here and Ms. Hale wrapped it up all nice and pretty with a bow on top. Jesse and Adrian were meant to find each other.
Jesse, the man who doesn't commit or do repeat dates thinks he is enjoying a friends with benefits situation with Adrian yet he is behaving like a boyfriend does...dinner dates that he doesn't see as dates, taking him sight seeing, bringing him to Sunday brunch at his mama's house. Totally all things that scream committing. With Adrian being new in town there was no better person for him to get involved with than a Sterling.
I loved how Jesse was oblivious to his courting ways and everyone else saw what he was doing. It takes him a hot minute to realize what he has with Adrian and the way that he shows him what he means to him.....swoon! Mama Sterling finally gets her wish when Adrian appears in Jesse's life and I love how she just embraced him, just one meeting and she knew he was who her son needed in his life. I guess mama does know best!
Adrian finds the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow with Jesse and his family. He is new in town and has nobody close by so of course he is welcomed with open arms into the Sterling family. Integrating a character into a found family is something Ms. Hale does so well.
Alexandra delivers another wonderful HEA in a short amount of time with this one. At this point I am convinced she could write a novella with her eyes closed! She even managed to have all the Sterling siblings along with Reid and Harlan very active in this story which really and truly wrapped everything up nicely.
The youngest Sterling sibling is finally getting his HEA-not that Jesse was in a rush to find it. He is the have fun times, no strings type of of guy and enjoying his life. He has no plans to settle down, like his siblings and cousin recently have.
When Jesse meets a handsome stranger-it is instant attraction-and only for one night! But when Adrian pops back into his life unexpectedly, things get all turned around. Jesse is sure a friends with benefits situations will be no problem. Then things shift for both of them, their friendship deepens and things get turned around once again. My heart went out to Jesse, as he battles with what he’s feeling and what he’s always believed he wanted. Adrian is so swoony, but is desperate to protect his heart.
This was such a sweet read and steamy-their chemistry and connection is fantastic. They had this pull towards one another and it kept a smile on my face the whole time watching it all unfold.
I enjoyed every moment of this book and couldn’t get enough of Jesse and Adrian! The family/found family vibes are amazing and kept me smiling. What a perfect ending to this storyline.
I highly recommend this author, and if you are looking for a short, quick read-that’s still packed with plot, spice, laughs and all the feels-be sure to check out the full selection Alexandra has!
5⭐️
**thank you to the author for a copy of this book. This review and its opinions are my own
Jesse Sterling, the youngest of the Sterling siblings, lives for no-strings fun until a one-night stand with Adrian turns into something neither expected. When Adrian reappears a month later with secrets of his own, their friends-with-benefits arrangement starts to feel like something deeper. But Jesse never wanted forever until now.
As always, I adore anything Alexandra Hale writes! This short novella (just 106 pages) still delivers a complete story where I felt like I truly got to know both characters. Jesse shines a little brighter, surrounded by his lovable family at the Sterling Christmas tree farm in Wintervale. It was so nice to be back in this world, especially with Reid and Hunter.
This is such a sweet and fun little story that starts with a one-night stand and quickly develops into friends with benefits with obvious but unaddressed feelings. I loved Adrian’s dominant side and how clear he was about wanting something more. The chemistry between them was so sweet and sizzling.
As always, Alexandra Hale’s books have fantastic family and found family vibes, with a real sense of community and people being in a place where they love and are loved.
A fabulous little novella.
Thanks to Alexandra Hale for the ARC - I’m honoured to be part of her ARC team. All thoughts are my honest opinion.
This was yet another fantastic novella set in the Wintervale series. Alexandra Hale knows how to write sweet and swoony men, and in this book, we got two absolutely perfect MMC's that were crazy for each other.
I loved reading about the instent connection Jesse and Reid had, and to see how the relationship progressed was great. The sweet moments between them were fantastic, and the tension and spicy banter hit perfectly.
I have always loved how Alexandra Hale made family such a big part of her books, and the relationship between Jesse and his family was so much fun to read. I mean, the sibling text conversation alone had me laughing out loud! They are always there for one another, and any person who comes into the family is welcomed with open arms.
Alexandra's novellas/books are the perfect thing to read if you are looking for small town romance with funny and support found family vibes and a sweet yet spicy romance between two amazing characters.

Jesse, the final Sterling sibling from Alexandra’s previous books, finally meets his match in what he thought would be a one-night stand — but it turns out to be much more.
He’s not looking for commitment, even after watching his siblings and cousin settle down. Jesse enjoys the playboy lifestyle and fears that the feelings he’s developing for Adrian will disrupt that freedom. I liked seeing Jesse wrestle with this tension, especially as his family nudges him toward something more grounded.
Adrian, older and more settled, wants someone to come home to. He’s ready to lean into his feelings and make things with Jesse permanent. What stood out to me is how Adrian doesn’t have a strong support system — he’s figuring things out solo, even at work, where Jesse’s sister tries to understand what he’s feeling. His quiet resilience makes him easy to root for, and his vulnerability adds weight to the romance. You can feel how much he wants to be chosen, not just loved.
Add in the usual Sterling chaos — meddling relatives, family dinners, and that dreamy hot chocolate — and Alexandra delivers another hit. I hope this isn’t the last we see of the Sterling crew.
One Night to Fall is bittersweet for me. I love seeing Jesse fall in love and find his person. But I have fallen completely in love with the Sterling family and I am sad that their series has come to an end.
The relationship between Jesse and Adrian is brilliantly written. They have a power dynamic that allows each of them to feel both empowered and vulnerable. I loved that Adrian wanted to be all in from the start and that Jesse thought he could have a friends with benefits situation but broke the rules from the beginning.
The text banter between the Sterling family is top notch - it's brilliant, funny and the perfect amount of sarcasm. Their meddling is the ultimate boundary crossing but also heartwarming.
I have loved getting to know Jesse more as the series progressed and adore that we have now seen him find his match. The way Alexandra Hale writes, the reader is give a full story and character development in a novella, that could easily be read standalone but is also complimented by reading the whole series.
Ms. Hale is a star at fitting everything needed to make a complete and believable story in a novella-length book. I don't feel as though there is a thing missing! Jesse and Adrian have one amazing night together, each thinking that they will never see each other again. But the fates have other ideas - their second meet/cute is so imaginative! Their chemistry completely pervades the story, even as they both are trying to deny it and trying not to fall. Other members of the Sterling family bring plenty of banter (the family text thread is terrific!) as well as their opinions on Jesse's situation. A charming read, with a little spice!
FYI: This novella is another installment in the "Seasons in Montana" series. This is a multi-author series where each author has contributed a novella with each one of the four seasons as its setting.
I was given an ARC and volunteered to write a review.
Jesse doesn't want a relationship..... But he wants more than one night.... He wants the dates...without dating... Friends with benefits....but exclusively... Oh, and could you just join me for family brunch...but he's not my boyfriend....
Only Jesse thinks this is not a relationship, everyone else including Adrian can see exactly what it is. However, Adrian can also see the train crash waiting to happen, because Jesse already owns his heart, but he is running scared taking Adrian's heart with him. The Sterling family are interfering, inappropriate, overbearing and share far too much, but that also allows them to be bluntly honest.... especially when you don't want to hear it but need to! Jesse is not intentionally being fickle with Adrian, he genuinely doesn't realise what he is doing, which makes it difficult to outright dislike him. But I was definitely frustrated with him and sad for Adrian. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
My girl Alexandra Hale is back with another spicy, swoony novella from the Seasons in Montana series.
This book follows Jesse and Adrian, the two meet in a bar, Adrian says he’s just there for the night and that is music to Jesse’s ears, he isn’t interested in romantic entanglements. Jesse is surprised when he can’t forget the stranger, and even more surprised when he finds out Adrian has moved to Wintervale and works with Jesse’s sister.
I love how Alexandra tells a story and this one is no different. I love the small town setting and the Sterling family. Alexandra writes incredible families and her group text messages are always a highlight! I liked the evolution of Jesse and Adrian’s romance and the grand gesture Jesse made. It always amazes me how Alexandra can fit so much heart, romance and spice into her novellas!
If you like steamy small town romances you should definitely give this one a try! One Night To Fall is out TODAY!
I would say this reached 4.9 rating which can’t be reflected on options provided. One night to fall by Alexandra Hale is an excellent and compelling novella and love story. The MMCs are Jesse and Nate, though Nate often go by his surname Adrain. These two are opposites that attract. Jesse struggles with issues of trust when all his rules are considered. Yet they fall for one another. The plot matches the character driven narrative of this novella. Both are brilliant and split between them is 49 precent plot and 51 precent character narrative. Alexandra Hales writing is brilliant. I couldn’t put this novella down easily. I highly recommend one night to fall by Alexandra Hale, it’s a read you work regret if you enjoy Male/ male. I highly enjoyed this read. Check it out tomorrow upon release!
Let's all just take a singular moment to appreciate the quotes that reside within this book.
Alexandra Hale has pushed out her fair share of books within the last few years, and I'm so thrilled with how her writing and style has evolved and grown throughout her writing journey.
She didn't hold back with this MM novella. Thank goodness.
Jesse has been patiently waiting for his time to shine and no one brings out the Jesse we needed like Adrian. These two have undeniable chemistry in the bedroom and just need to figure their way into something more than a one night stand.
The dominant personalities pulled through in both of these men, but it never felt like a forced power pull. No matter who was taking the lead, each scene felt real and well, hot.
Definitely a good quick MM read to heat things up.
"I don't need a marriage proposal but coming home to the same guy every night sounds damn near close to heaven."
Jesse & Adrian. I was not expecting to be rooting for Jesse AT ALL. These two men took me on a rollercoaster of emotions - I was not ready. These two behaved liked adults - regardless if you like what Jesse was saying (that he is not a relationship guy). They were each clear in what they wanted (or what they thought they wanted) which is where their issues came from. Their relationship started as a one night stand but it was quickly apparent that this might be something more. This is a short book - a little over 100 pages - so it moved quickly but the pacing of the story was great. I'm a big fan of Alexandra Hale so wasn't surprised that I loved this book.
I received this eARC from the author and my review is voluntary.
This addition to the Seasons in Montana series is the story of youngest Sterling brother Jesse and his one night stand he thought he would never see again but one month later turns up working for his sister as a message therapist. Jesse is not into commitments but Adrian is a few years older and is ready to find someone to settle with. Yet the lines between them continue to blur and finally one must decide to either go all in or lose all out. Hot and steamy with lots of alpha reversal yet still plenty of emotional content too. As in this book and throughout the series, the banter, both kidding and serious advice, from the siblings, cousin Reid and now their significant others is what gives this book its humor, character and keeps me waiting for the next book in the series. I received an Advance Review Copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The power dynamics between both MMCs gave me the ick because it tested boundaries for trust, respect, and consent. My other gripe is with the massage therapist MMC and it comes from someone who no longer practices in the profession for so so so many reasons and has taken continuing education classes about professional ethics. In an Epstein files world, I think massage therapists should be really strict about professional boundaries and those would include not taking someone as a client who you had hooked up with, and that spa ownership should frown upon being matchmakers and none of that happened here. Maybe it's a me problem who read more into a smutty romance novel than I should have but there are things that are not okay whether in real life or fictional situations. This is an author who I either really like or am meh about, this one being the latter.
One Night to Fall by Alexandra Hall is the youngest Sterling sibling's story.
Jesse works hard on the tree farm during the day then lets off steam with tourists at night. He meets an attractive man at the bar and goes home with him. Jesse has an unforgettable night with "Nate," and can't seem to get him off his mind.
About a month later, Jesse runs into his one-night stand at an unexpected place. These two can't seem to take their hands off each other and decide to have a "casual" relationship. The casualness tends to become difficult for both of them.
I really enjoy the Wintervale series and absolutely loved reading Jesse's story. Watching Jesse grow from a playboy to a partner was incredible! I hope there's more to this series so I can see what these two hunks are up to in the future!
Thank you so much for this ARC! @authoralexandrahale
Sweet Jesse thought all he needed was a good time. He couldn't have been more wrong. Through the series we have watched the Sterling Siblings cover for each other with their meddling parents. When Wren gifts a stressed out Jesse a free massage with the hot new massage therapist at work the last thing he expected was to come face to face with the one night stand he couldn’t stop thinking about. Watching Jesse and Adrian fall is a wild ride. Adrian has no idea what he is getting into with the Sterling family and Jesse has no idea how to handle everything he is feeling. As always Alexandra has hit it out of the park; this book was everything I wanted and more. This was the perfect end to the Sterling family.
𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐓𝐨 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥 (𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚—𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥) by Alexandra Hale is an entertaining MM novella for Jesse and Adrian that brings plenty of spice and swoon. They may have started as an anonymous one night stand, but life in a small town often brings chance encounters, and this massage therapist and cowboy duo definitely brought chemistry, some emotion, and added to the fun banter that already overflows from this amazing family! The group chats always steal the show, and this short story is no different for me!😂 I enjoyed watching Jesse meet his game changer, even if he didn’t want to believe it himself.😉
I received an advanced review copy, and my opinions are my own and freely expressed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶.5
Cutest read! A one night stand neither one can forget that leads straight to happy ever after with a few adorable bumps in the road along the way like realizing you just hired him to rub you down, there is literally nothing private about wanting the man your sister just hired, and he's everything you swore you didn't want but the thought of him with another man...not happening! Really adored Jesse and his I'm not in it for the long haul attitude, made even funnier by how the relationship he swears he didn't want is one he's pretty much diving into head first totally unintentionally, Adrian is the sweetest and I can't even tell you how hard Jesse's whole family makes you laugh since he's the last one to fall and they all have zero problems interfering. Fantastic MM quick read!
Wahh, was this the end of Wintervale? I need more. This family always makes me grin. Or maybe that's Alexandras writing? Anyway, I need more.
Let's just say that Jesse and Adrian here left me in full emotion mood. I was laughing, crying, and enjoying them far too much and I didn't want the story to end! They were cute and it absolutely tickled me to see how Jesse fell without him knowing he fell. It was epic. And Adrian's heart...he straight out stole mine and I...just...it was perfect. They're little interludes were so endearing as well! Epic. However, does anyone else want Kyle's story? Please?
If you are in the need of a quick read that has all the feels and smiles, check this one out!
