edit : avoid they both dated and slept with op, fmc said she witnessed him dating sweet girls who made sense for him, and he witnessed her dating guys who never stuck around. so basically he dated nice girls and had nice relationships while she only dated losers.
note : wait for safety childhood bestfriend who have always loved each other, if they're not Vs i don't want it
Just finished reading an advanced copy of a book that is about to be released on February 1st called, Always You. This is about Poppy, she's been raising her little brother and running her dad's mechanic shop ever since her mom passed and her dad stopped caring about everything, including his kids. The person Poppy leans on when life becomes too much, her sounding board, her absolute best friend, is Ollie. Ollie has been in love with Poppy since they were kids, he would do anything for her. Poppy loves Ollie too, and she wants more but is afraid to ruin the friendship because her life is a mess. When custody of her brother is being threatened, Poppy and Ollie decide to get married. They say to each other it's just pretend, to give her brother two stable guardians, a safe loving home, and until Poppy gets back on her feet. But Ollie isn't pretending. This is what he's wanted, to finally be with Poppy, and he's going to prove to her he can be not just her best friend but also the man she needs. But when a surprise comes into Ollie's life, it changes life as they know it for both him and Poppy. This is the third book in the Bridger Falls series, I love this series so much! I was soo excited to finally get Poppy and Ollie's story, and to see how the other character's lives are going! This was such a fun, sweet, and heartfelt love story. It had a beautifully written best friends (to fake marriage) to lovers storyline. The friendship and chemistry between Poppy and Ollie was so well done, I was rooting for them right from the start! They were there for each other always, no matter what life threw at them, they stood by each other and faced it together. It was a really beautiful story! 🩷📚
Thank you to the author and her team for this ARC of Always You, in exchange for an honest review.
Always You had that small town charm, strong character development and an interesting storyline. Poppy and Ollie’s relationship unfolded unconventionally but it just added to the heartwarming aspect. I like Poppy and Ollie as characters but something was missing in terms of their relationship development. I also found the book chaotic and repetitive at times, however, as a series it continues to intrigue me. I knew something was brewing with Weston and I can’t wait for book 4 to find out…
Poppy- She's a mechanic and struggling to stay afloat. She's sassy, snarky, sarcastic, and full of fire. She's all the things, and she has the biggest heart for the people she loves. I absolutely loved her from page one. Since her mom's passing, her just being a teenager, she raised her younger brother, Owen. Unfortunately when it comes to her father she got dealt the really crappy parent card.
"For better or worse. For weird or whatever. "
Ollie- fire fighter. Poppys best friend. He is sooo swoon worthy. So protective. Hes always there for Poppy and Owen. And oh my heart 💜 So very obvious that they are suppose to be together but fighting those feelings because they are each others person and Poppy is terrified of being abandoned and destroying the friendship she has with him. So she basically friend zones him. He also got dealt the crappy parent card.
The banter in this is truly top tier. This was hilarious. The TENSION.... 🔥 The build up? Even better. This will have you yelling. Erin Branscom has this talent with slow burns where there's so much push and pull and it's always so well executed that you're glued and turning page after page devouring what's been written.
The yearning Ollie has done for years! Uugghhh my heart. This whole book truly is the definition of found family and people in a small town loving you unconditionally and always being in your corner. It takes a village and they have a great one!
I have yet to read a series by this author in order 🤣 I love Erin's books but I can't ever seem to pick them up at book one I find myself just starting wherever! 😂 Time to back track and go read the first two to be fully caught up!

4.5 ⭐️ Third book in the series, but totally works as a standalone.
Now listen — I am a sucker for kids being main characters and for step-parent / “stepping up as a parent” storylines, and this one delivered.
Polly and Ollie (I mean… come on 🥹) both had pretty rough upbringings. Polly’s been raising her brother since she was 11, and Ollie grew up with a dad tied to organized crime. They’ve been best friends forever — he’s always loved her, always helped with her brother, always been there. She takes a little longer to catch up emotionally, but when she does… 🎉🎉🎉
This was wholesome, emotional, family-oriented, and gave me all the found-family feels. A slow-burn friends-to-lovers with kids at the heart of it and a truly perfect HEA.
Highly recommend if you love childhood best friends, protective MMCs, and stories where love shows up in actions — not just words. 💛
New to me Author: I really enjoyed Poppy and Ollie's story! I love the "found family" aspect of it. I enjoyed seeing the other people in their inner circle. And definitely a cinnamon roll/he falls first kind of story. The spice was on the low level..... wasnt really a closed door romance, but really felt more PG-13 and a lot more emotion based. The only thing about this book was that I felt like it kind of dragged on at the end. But I mean this couple had everything thrown at them and they worked their way through it all.
The book that makes you laugh, makes you cry and doesn’t lack on spice! Another must read book. Cozy and heartfelt with unexpected twists that leave you wanting more.
👩🏼❤️👨🏻 | Always You by Erin Branscom 💖 | Small town, Contemporary western romance ✨ | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Oh what a book this was 😮💨😮💨. I loved every single part of it💖💖. Ollie & Poppy are best friends and in love with each other, they fear that if they crossed the line they might risk losing everything. They are just perfect for each other, they both endured so much in their lives but they’ve always been there for each other.
Poppy, a firecracker and fiercely independent mechanic who runs her late mother's shop, doesn’t take shit from anyone and raised her brother since he was a baby and she was 16 since her good for nothing father abandoned them🤬🤬. While Ollie is Bridger Falls' “hottest firefighter” and Poppy's lifelong best friend who lives in the apartment above her shop. He is your classic “golden retriever” hero. He is sweet, supportive, and secretly in love with Poppy for years💘💘.
My favorite scene from this book is the one from The black Dog (ch 30). It was so funny that my eyes watered and stomach hurt so much from laughing 🤣🤣. I will definitely not miss coach Tooty. 😂😂
Even though there were nasty and shitty people in Ollie & Poppy’s lives, there were also nice, supportive, and lovable people too. The way everyone supported them through everything they went through and never left their side was just so wholesome and heartwarming. 😍😍
The ending of this book was just perfect💜💜 I am gonna miss everyone 🥹💞 can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series (this is the third book in the series). While this series is interconnected you can read them as a standalone too.💙💙
If you love small town romance, best friends to lovers, and slow burn then Always You is a perfect read ❤️🔥❤️🔥. You’ll get everything here chaos, drama, and a surprise …… shhh 🤫🤫 I won’t say anything else or I might give spoilers 🤣🤣. Ok that’s enough rambling, go read the book people.
Erin Branscom & Team, thank you so much for sharing Ollie & Poppy’s story with me 💕💕.
This book gave me Gilmore girl vibes, but instead of Lorelei, trying to escape the life that her parents wanted for her and the way they controlled her. The parents in this book are actually dangerous. The other difference is the FMC is raising her brother in the small town, not a daughter. The MMC and FMC are best friends and the FMC is having some drama happen in her life so they get married to help with that, and the FMC is worried about everyone’s reactions. The only thing everyone keeps saying is that it’s weird that they are calling it a “pretend” marriage when everything about their relationship is real and that they just need to admit it. I loved that they were open with their inner circle. I also loved that the MMC is completely and totally honest with her from the beginning, he decides he wants to take a chance on their love being more than a friendship and doesn’t hide his feelings from her at all. He’s not pushy and takes it her pace, but doesn’t hide from her.
Both of the main characters had crappy hands when it came to parents, but they’re not letting it tear them down, they refuse to be like them and want to be better. They both treat everyone around them amazing and protect their loved ones with all they have.
I’m gonna be honest, I had totally forgot that this was the third in the series and meant to read the other ones before this, but like I said, I forgot. Instead of it taking away, the book was still amazing and once I realized, all it did was make me want to go back and reread the entire series. I’ve already added all three of them to my birthday wishlist. I 100% recommend this series for a small town romance/cowboy romance on your TBR.
Thank you Erin Branscom for the early copy - all opinions are my own!
- Childhood friends to lovers - Small town romance - He falls first - Found family - Pretend marriage
I know it's early in the year, but this book has FLOWN to the top of my favorites for the year. My favorite trope of all time is friends to lovers, and this one is DONE SO WELL!
The thing that makes this book stand out to me is the fact that everyone else knows that Ollie and Poppy are in love with each other - except for the couple themselves. Ollie and Poppy have been the absolute best friends since they were teenagers and count on each other when things go downhill. And due to their pasts and the relationships with their parents, things go downhill a lot.
Poppy is the type of person I would 100% want as a friend. She is loyal, she is determined, she can be a bit unhinged as well. But she would do ANYTHING for the people she loves. And that is a quality that always resonates with me.
And we can't overlook the cinnamon roll that is Ollie. He is heroic, he is loyal, he stands up for what is right. So swoony, right? He will also do anything for his people and that made me melt!
I loved watching their relationship blossom as they stand together to take care of Poppy's brother Owen. And I felt a lot of satisfaction when some characters had the day they deserved.
With the hints for the next book in the series, I am all in. I desperately also hope that Grave gets a book because wow.
Just finished an ARC of Always You 💕📖 (releasing February 1st!) and I am EMOTIONAL in the best way.
Meet Poppy doing everything she can to hold life together 💪🛠️. She’s raising her little brother, running her dad’s mechanic shop, and carrying way more than anyone should after her mom’s passing and her dad checking out. Her constant? Ollie 🥹 her best friend, her safe place, her sounding board… and the man who’s been quietly, hopelessly in love with her forever.
When custody of her brother is threatened, Poppy and Ollie make a very logical decision 😏👇 💍 Fake marriage 🏠 Found family 🤍 Best friends → lovers
Poppy says it’s pretend. Ollie? Absolutely not. He’s been waiting his whole life to prove he can be more than her best friend he can be her person. But when an unexpected twist rocks Ollie’s world, everything changes for both of them.
This is book three in the Bridger Falls series, 🩷 This book was sweet, heartfelt, emotional, and deeply comforting. The chemistry, the loyalty, the always choosing each other vibes? Perfection. I was rooting for them from page one 🥹✨
Tropes you’ll love: ✨ Best Friends to Lovers ✨ Fake Marriage ✨ Slow Burn ✨ Found Family ✨ He’s Always Loved Her
Thank you so much to the author Erin Branscom and her team for the ARC. This one truly stayed with me 🩷📚
Erin Branscom has absolutely smashed writing Cowboy AGAIN! Always You is book 3 in The Bridger Falls series. It's a sweet, heartfelt story that makes you instantly want the HEA.
Poppy has been raising her little brother Owen and running her dad Sully's mechanic shop for the last decade after her mum passed away& her dad left them to fend for themselves. She has done everything to keep a roof over their heads and food in their belly's but when Sully won't stop taking her earnings and the house goes into foreclosure due to him not paying the mortgage, life is dire and Poppy is barely holding it together alone.
Enter Ollie, best friend, local fire fighter and deadbeat parents club member also. Only Ollie has been hopelessly in love with Poppy for as long as he remembers. He's determined to help Poppy no matter what even if she'll never feel the same way. When an anonymous tip to CPS threatens to tear apart his 'family' an impromptu wedding seems to he the answer.
The mutual longing/pining had me melting, Poppy is terrified to lose the only constant she's had in her life and although they're just 'pretending' none of its fake.
I absolutely loved getting to see how the other MC's from books 1 and 2 are getting on in life and I'm hoping the next book is about Sutton!
Bridger Falls never fails to make me swoon. Yet another warm & cosy romance with slow burn spice that will melt your panties.
Ollie & Poppy has been destined for each other since high school, but she friend zoned him early on. Ever since, Ollie has been waiting for Poppy to catch up, & to reciprocate the feelings has for her. They’ve both been dealt crappy parent cards (with the exception of her mother), & Poppy had to grow up quickly & step in to raise her brother when her mum passed. She’s terrified of people leaving/abandoning her, so she can’t risk her friendship with Ollie. All the what ifs keep her scared & unable to commit to anyone apart from her brother.
When an anonymous tip off brings CPS to her door, Ollie doesn’t hesitate to step in & step up, & Poppy begins to realise he means it when he says he’s here for her & Owen.
This is a fake marriage/marriage of convenience, small town romance with a mechanic FMC & firefighter MMC, a middle schooler who craves stability, a surprise baby & a ex-biker dog. I binged this book in about 4 hours. Couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait for the next instalment from Bridger Falls & Erin Branscom.
This book is about Poppy and Ollie. I really loved reading their book. Poppy is a Mechanic who is running her dad’s shop. He hassles her all the time about his share of what she earns even when they are struggling to make ends meet. and Ollie is a Fire Fighter. They both had parent drama and that made them become best friends and ended up loving each other. Ollie has always been in love with Poppy but didn’t want to lose the friendship….. He offered to marry her so she could keep raising her brother Owen. When someone tries to cause problems. This was a real feel-good romance story, and I loved the banter and love between all the characters; I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves a down-home romance that will just give you all the cute feelings.
This is one of my favorite quotes in this book: She’s the only fire I’ve never been able to extinguish. Because she’s the fire of my heart. The one person I think about at any given point of my day. She’s everywhere. In my heart, a photo on my dashboard, a photo in my locker. I even have a picture of her in my helmet. Poppy means the world to me. I want everything with her.
So happy I got the opportunity to read and review this book. I do my reviews a bit differently, I prefer when I’m reading reviews to give me Point topic and just enough information to see if I’d be into reading. So those of you ladies that have similar thinking like me this review is for you. Poppy is a badass female mechanic with a royal a-Hole of a dad who takes money without any remorse. She is raising her younger brother with the help of the town and her very hot firefighter best friend Ollie. Things start to hit the fan and she doesn’t know how her and her brother are going to survive, but she knows she can always lean on Ollie for support. -smut level 3/5 Some but nothing crazy -crazy parents trying to ruin all things good -Ollie saves the day -spontaneous marriage -friends to lovers -happy ending of course -worked for everything they had and it was worth it in the end I loved reading this, truly a great story. It had me wanting to scream at Poppy’s dad and punch Ollie’s mom square in her throat. It also made me realize that I actually don’t know how to change a tire and therefore should learn because yes Girl power.
I am officially a fan of every man Erin Branscom writes, and Ollie just cemented that fact. Maybe it’s the firefighter thing, maybe it’s the golden retriever energy, or maybe it’s the way he shows up emotionally, but either way—slam dunk MMC. He was warm, steady, and completely lovable without losing depth.
This book surprised me in the best way with how emotionally grounded it was. The slow-burn friends-to-lovers romance felt earned, the spice was perfectly timed, and the surprise baby chaos added real stakes without tipping into melodrama. I also loved the FMC—fierce, capable, and unapologetically herself as a mechanic in a small town that absolutely cannot mind its own business.
Erin Branscom truly excels at small-town found family dynamics. The community, the meddling, the support system—it all felt authentic and comforting while still leaving room for tension and growth. At this point, small-town found family feels like Erin’s domain, and she continues to prove she does it better than most.
If you love heartfelt romance with strong characters, emotional depth, and a town that feels like home, this one is a must-read.
This is book three, of the Bridger Falls’ series. It can easily be read as a standalone. I highly recommend reading the full series, not only because it’s wonderful ,also because it gives you more background on the other characters.
This is Ollie’s and Poppy’s story and it’s full of love and heartbreak and makes you go through every emotion.
Betrayal and neglect from the ones who were meant for you keep you safe means these two have always had each others backs and that kind of loyal love never fades.
I was so drawn into this book by the banter and journey the characters took. Poppy is such a firecracker and doesn't let anyone doubt her because she's a woman thriving in a man's world.
Her best friend Ollie is a golden retriever firefighter who's always fought to be by her side through every struggle. Their chemistry is off the charts and when they finally come together they create such a beautiful family.
Always You is heartfelt, funny, emotional, and spicy in all the right ways!! I couldn't put it down!!
What you get...... ♡Small Town Romance ♡Friends to Lovers ♡Mechanic FMC ♡Firefighter MMC ♡Great Banter ♡He Falls First ♡Golden Retriever MMC ♡Fake Marriage ♡Slow Burn ♡Found Family
Ollie has been in love with Poppy since high school, but she put him firmly in the friend zone while life forced her to grow up too fast. Losing her mom, raising her brother, and dealing with an unreliable father has left her terrified of abandonment and terrified of risking the one relationship that’s always felt safe. Meanwhile, Ollie has been patiently waiting for her to see what he’s known all along..... they are meant for each other.
Watching her slowly realize he means every word, every promise, every act of love is absolutely beautiful!!
This is a must read for anyone who loves cozy romance with real stakes, real heart, and a hero who shows up every single time. 🥰🥰
Erin does a great job at sucking us into her stories and making us love her characters!
Was so happy this story was more than I anticipated
This was such a sweet, emotional, and heartwarming friends-to-lovers story that pulled me in from the very beginning. Erin Branscom writes romance with so much tenderness and hope, and I truly cared about these characters and their journey. I loved Poppy’s determination and sass, and Ollie is everything a girl could want—strong, dependable, and a sexy fireman to boot. Their connection felt natural and meaningful, and watching their relationship grow from friendship into something deeper was incredibly satisfying. I also appreciated the beautiful themes of found family and breaking free from painful generational patterns. Owen and Ellie were wonderful additions, and it was so nice to revisit familiar faces like Cami & Jack and Violet & Walker. Warm, heartfelt, and full of emotion, Always You is a perfect read for fans of sweet, meaningful romance—especially those who love a good friends-to-lovers story. Highly recommend! 💕
Poppy Town mechanic raising her brother Owen since her mom died and her jerky bad Influence father left her to raise and take care of Owen but she was never alone Ollie her bestfriend was always there they've weathered it all together bad parents bad relationships and underneath everything there's been a quite heat simmering on low and everyone already knows what Poppy refuses to acknowledge Ollie the handsome firefighter has always wanted her and if Poppy was honest she's been in love with him forever these two have been circling around each other for to long so when Poppy is in danger of loosing her brother Ollie steps up yah with the help of the town mediler Maggie so first there fake ingaged then there supposed to be fake married all to save Owen and so Poppy can protect her fragile heart but that doesn't last long but wouldn't you know it life has another surprise in store for Ollie and Poppy. This cute sweet romance will have you laughing crying and furious at the parental figures in there lives. I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.
Thank you to Erin Branscom and team for the ARC of Always You. Reading Poppy and Ollie realize there were in love and could make it work was everything. The strength each character had separately made them so much stronger together. I loved the first impression we got of Owen, having an 11 year old myself can confirm they really do act like that with their phones and math homework. Poppy was great from page one. The snark and sarcasm made it feel like I was hanging out with a girl friend. The qoute " We don't get the dreams. We get the crockpot" spoke to me on a soul deep level. The wedding and reception was the point where this book went from a 3 star read to a 5 star read. The emotion behind every scene was spot on. When Owen asked if he could have Ollie's last name did me in. I can't wait for the next book and really hope we get more of the MC in the future cause they seem like great people and would make fascinating stories.

Erin Branscom is one of my favorite authors, and I absolutely love the ‘Bridger Falls’ series. This is book three, but it can easily be read as a standalone. I highly recommend reading the full series, not only because it’s amazing, but because it gives you more background on the other characters. This book tells Poppy and Ollie’s story, and I dare say it might be my favorite so far! I love Ollie. He’s a hot firefighter who is fiercely protective and genuinely caring. Poppy is fighting to stay afloat and is a total badass. Together, they navigate life beautifully, supporting each other through all the surprises it brings, both good and bad. Seeing characters and couples from the previous books was delightful, and meeting new ones has me excited to dive further into the series. I also loved the Easter egg mention of Wisteria Cove, another of Erin Branscom’s series. I’m so excited for Sutton and Weston’s story!
This is the third book in the series and yet I didn’t feel lost coming into an established world. I will have to go backwards at some point to read about Violet & Walker and Cami & Jack though. I really liked them as found family in this book.
Oliver “Ollie” Kendrick is an absolute freaking GEM of a man. Sweet and kind and funny! And has a dirty taking side he reserves just for her lol
Poppy Murphy is a such a cool chick who takes no crud from anyone.
These two were dealt some really crappy parents and yet grew up into amazing people.
I loved watching them get together and figure out how to be the couple they technically always were without the romance lol
They had some major curveballs thrown their way and yet they persevered so beautifully together 🥰🥰
This is the fourth book I’ve read by this author and I just adore her work. She’s always going to be a yes in my book loving heart! ❤️
Third book in the series, but my first time reading this author—and what an absolute treat. This friends-to-lovers romance is heartfelt, tender, and deeply touching from start to finish.
I adored Poppy and Ollie. Poppy is a fiercely strong heroine who loves her best friend but is terrified of losing him, so she does everything she can to bury her feelings. Ollie, on the other hand, has loved Poppy forever. He is unwaveringly devoted—not only to her, but also to her little brother, Owen, whom Poppy raises after the loss of their mother and their father’s abandonment. Ollie would move heaven and earth for them both, including standing between them and their toxic father when it matters most.
The story is filled with warmth, goodness, and truly heart-melting moments, along with a couple of unexpected twists that add depth and emotion. A beautifully written, emotionally satisfying read that stayed with me long after the final page.
Tropes ✨ 🩷Friends to Lovers 🩷Small Town 🩷Found Family 🩷Slow Burn 🩷Mechanic FMC 🩷Firefighter MMC ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌶️🌶️ This is a great series. I truly love all the characters. I was excited to get Ollie and Poppy's story. Poppy is a girl Boss who took care of her little brother after their father abandoned them. She's also secretly got a thing for her best friend but since things never go her way, she's afraid of losing him. Ollie has always had a thing for Poppy and just wanted her to give him a shot but he's too afraid. Until she needs a fake marriage to keep guardianship of her brother. I loved reading about how Poppy and Ollie deal with their relationship changes and the external hits that keep coming. Poppy is much braver than I am. She goes up against bikers. I've always loved the found family aspect of these books and seeing all of the other characters is entertaining. The banter was solid, a nice slow burn into some spice and a great overall read.
Humour, heartbreak, true love, soulmates sprinkle of spice and building a future as a mashed up family - this book has it all.
It’s an easy read small town romance with the regular characters of bridger falls. This is Ollie’s and Poppy’s story and it’s full of love and heartbreak and makes you go through every emotion. Betrayal and neglect from the ones who were meant for you keep you safe means these two have always had each others backs and that kind of loyal love never fades.
The whole town is routing for them, except one! They have a village to help them and they go out of their ways to show support. Help also comes from the unlikeliest people and goes to show that friends can often be more of a family than your actual family.
If you love the Gilmore girl feel cosy small town romance then this is 100% for you
Tropes: * Small town romance * Firefighter romance * Blue collar FMC * Golden retriever MMC * Pretend Marriage * Found family * Friends to lovers * Surprise baby * Slow burn
This was a very sweet story. It started with me being prepared to rage a bit at back-and-forth, but instead, this progressed in such a sweet way… I adored both their characters, dealing with difficult parents and trauma in their pasts from their parents. The fake marriage went to real pretty fast,a nd the ‘I love you’s’ were gorgeous. The additions to their family were unexpected, but I adored their little found family that they built. Their wider family (family and friends) were amazing, and I adored all of the characters.
My first read from this author, and it won’t be the last.
I was lucky to get an ARC of this book! This book is my favorite in the series. If you like friends to lovers, small town, found family, Slow burn, and he falls first this book is definitely for you. Ollie is a firefighter and has loved Poppy for as long as he can remember but has never been the right time for them. Poppy is the town mechanic and has been taking care of her little brother since she was sixteen and he was a baby after her mom died her dad "left" and made her deal with all responsibilities. Now that she is older and her brother is elven they are going through hard times with their dad and Ollie is there trying to help them out the best he can. Well when there is a call to CPS and Poppy needs everything to be perfect one thing leads to another and everyone knows nothing is fake with these two no matter how much poopy says it. Ollie and Poppy have always been there for each other and when they both start to have stuff they need each other for they show up for each other. Can they hold what is thrown at them? It's always you.
WOW!!! This book is so good!!! Poppy and Ollie are couple goals and the chemistry between them is undeniable from start to finish! I love a good friends to lovers and this one definitely didn’t disappoint.
Poppy and Ollie have been best friends since they were teens and haven’t explored anything more with a fear of ruining their friendship. But they’re finally at a point in their adult lives that they realize their feelings are way more than friendship but they have a lot more to lose now. Is forever love worth the risk??
I highly recommend this book and the whole series!! I had a hard time putting it down. Poppy and Ollie go through it but it is such a beautiful love story; but there is also toxic parent drama, a biker gang and of course small town shenanigans!! It’s definitely worth the read!!
