This book is the work of visionary literature and historical fiction. Filled with deeply personal revelation and ancient, yet still timely wisdom, this passionate, raw chronicle explores the life of Mary Magdalene, otherwise known as Miriam of Magdala. It shares Miriam’s relationship with the apostles—both male and female—and her life with Yeshua, most renowned to the world as Jesus of Nazareth.
A significant upgrade to an outdated and distorted paradigm, her story challenges a filtered and archaic narrative that has defined Abrahamic religions as well as women’s pivotal role in history.
Miriam’s evocative and enthralling voice represents the divine feminine in all of us. In response to the distorting power for far too long, it shares the need to rebalance the masculine and feminine energy in the world, starting within each one of us. This involves understanding not just the important role of Miriam alongside Yeshua but also the vital, never-recorded roles women have played over millennia, as well as the internal journey Yeshua the kingdom lies within.
The book presents a modern enhancement to reality and captures a universal yet revolutionary message about their lives, now recreated in a new, fuller, and more tangible narrative. This rich, bold, and emotional story pushes you beyond your comfort zone, prodding you to re-examine history as well as answers to life’s most paradoxical questions about humanity’s very existence.

This book offers a thought-provoking and transformative exploration of sacred sex, relationships, and the balance between the divine feminine and masculine energies. Through poetic prose and deep spiritual reflections, it provides readers with a lens to rediscover ancient wisdom that challenges societal conditioning and opens a dialogue on themes of unity, wholeness, and self-discovery.
The chapter on "Sacred Sex and Relationship" particularly stands out for its depth and honesty, tackling long-held stigmas around sexuality with a refreshing perspective. The narrative highlights how historical and religious frameworks have shaped our understanding of intimacy, urging readers to examine and release these constraints. It invites an awakening to the sacredness of human connection as a pathway to love, creativity, and divine expression.
The dialogue between the characters Miriam, Rochelle, and Angelo brings these teachings to life, blending mystical experiences with practical lessons. Miriam’s voice serves as a profound guide, emphasizing the need to balance the masculine and feminine energies within ourselves to achieve spiritual enlightenment. The imagery used—such as the divinity of a grape symbolizing life’s interconnectedness—evokes a sense of awe for the natural world and our place within it.
The book’s emphasis on oneness and fluidity, illustrated through examples like birds nurturing their environment, resonates as a gentle reminder of the miracles found in everyday exchanges. It beautifully intertwines human experience with divine insight, leaving readers inspired to seek harmony in their own lives.
Overall, Magdalene’s Journey is a captivating read for those interested in spirituality, relationships, and personal growth. It offers both timeless wisdom and modern relevance, making it a valuable companion for anyone on a journey of self-discovery and connection with the divine.
I had a tough time rating this one - it was not what I expected. It's definitely historical fiction. I was expecting more of the historical and less of the fiction, so be forewarned if you're looking for something that has a more accurate depiction of Mary Magdalene. With that said, it was a very thought-provoking read!
The authors choose to tell the story through the spirits of Mary Magdalene and Yeshua (Jesus) who come through a medium, which is a really interesting way of telling the story that I appreciated (the spirit of Lazarus makes an appearance as well to assist with the story). There is a strong focus on how misunderstood Mary's role is in history, particularly focusing on the patriarchy at the time and really throughout the history of the faith. There is also a great focus on ways of understanding the greater consciousness and connectedness among people, using some reference to quantum mechanics. I lost my faith in the book a bit with this section - if you're going to get into quantum mechanics and consciousness, I'm going to need more science and less pure philosophy (but that's just me - I love physics). Still, thought-provoking.
There is some discussion of what may have happened to Mary after the crucifixion, some of which is tied to historical documents (gnostic gospels). I would have loved to have seen more of the history brought in here - it became very fictional and, honestly, had too much focus on sex (not gender roles here, but the sex act itself). That can be interesting to think about in history, but it was unnecessary here.
All told, a good read and one that makes you think, but not what I was hoping for.
Tossed aside like an inconvenient truth by the powers behind patriarchal Roman thrones and later the Catholic hierarchy, Mary Magdalene was mostly unknown. People who took the time to probe deeper still looked through that tainted lens, leading them to misunderstand and devalue her role as a healer and teacher. This role, one could argue, was equal to that of Yeshua’s as the yin to his yang—complementary and interconnected forces that together amplified the power of their abilities.
In response to the distorting power for far too many years, the book also shares the need to rebalance the masculine and feminine energy in the world, starting within each of us. This task involves understanding not just Miriam’s important role, but also the vital, never-recorded roles women have played over millennia. It attempts to capture a universal message about their lives, now recreated in a period that can show us a fuller, more tangible understanding of it.
The narrative challenges a much-filtered and archaic narrative that has dictated to humanity how to understand history, the Abrahamic religions, and women’s pivotal roles during that time. This account is a significant upgrade to an outdated paradigm and patriarchal storyline.
I win this book from a GoodReads Giveaway in exchange for an honest review. My main issue with this book is the GoodReads categorized it as nonfiction, when it is very clearly fiction. The authors admit that it is more historical fiction/science fiction/fantasy, so I don’t blame them, I’m guessing the publisher thought it would sell better if it was pitched as more historically accurate than it actually is.
I agree with the authors that Mary Magdalene has been misunderstood and largely intentionally written out of the history of the early church, so I sympathize with their desire to rewrite the narrative and present a different perspective. I don’t necessarily feel that writing a work of imaginative fiction really helps shift the narrative, but I can understand why some might feel it would, given the dearth of reliable information about her life and work.
I think if you go into this book understanding that it’s meant to be imaginative and challenge conventional thinking, it’s fine, and even a fun read. Some of their perspective and approach did not resonate with me, but it might with other readers.
I LOVED this book! I resonated with the Sacred Feminine aspect, especially how the messages of Mary Magdalene integrate into her extraordinary but normal everyday life. Magdalene candidly shares the big Truths, and answers the questions about our existence that have been sitting in my curious mind and heart far too long. I'm so grateful to Renee and Anthony for sharing this important story, and for sharing it in a beautifully entertaining, educational, and more importantly, transformational format in this novel. I will be reading it again and again as I infuse the learnings into my day-to-day life, living in a more loving and higher frequency state.
This book surprised me in ways I didn’t anticipate. I was completely engaged. I especially loved the story within the story and the characters’ experiences of how they came to learn about her and Yeshua’s journey. Some parts I read more than once—there’s so much wisdom woven through, with lessons that feel incredibly relevant for these times.
It challenges many of the outdated narratives we’ve been told, offering a beautiful perspective on Miriam’s role alongside Yeshua. I appreciate how it restores balance between the masculine and feminine, emphasizing that both energies are essential—not just historically, but within ourselves. It resonates on both a deeply personal and universal level. You can’t read it without feeling its impact.
The writing is heartfelt, passionate, and beautifully crafted. If you’ve ever questioned the stories we’ve been handed or felt drawn to divine wisdom, this book is powerful. It challenges old teachings and opens up new ways of thinking about the stories, dimensions, time, life, the afterlife, the nature of our souls, and more. It’s eye-opening and deeply entertaining.
I live as a spiritual conduit for the Arch angels . I love my calling , this book has reinforced my commitment to share my love with everyone who seeks me out for messages from the Angels.Everyone should read this beautiful journey of enlightening us all over the universe that we all make a difference we all matter. Yes his came here to show us how to live! Thank you Angelo and Renee for sharing this profoundly spiritual knowledge, and this testimony of Magdalene and her apostles it is powerful and humble!
**Warning: This is FICTION, folks! Historical accuracy took a sabbatical and won't be returning anytime soon.**
As someone with a bachelor's degree in religion from Amherst College, I feel uniquely qualified to tell you that if you're looking for a scholarly, academically rigorous investigation of everything we know and don't know about Mary Magdalene, this book will disappoint you faster than a prosperity gospel preacher's promises.
But if you want to take a wild, imaginative ride through "What if Mary Magdalene had a really active Twitter account and a detailed diary?" then buckle up, buttercup!
Renée Blodgett has taken artistic license and stretched it like biblical taffy until it reaches the moon.
This isn't historical fiction—this is historical *fanfiction*, and I mean that in the most delightful way possible. It's like someone asked, "What would happen if we gave Mary Magdalene a full backstory, complete character development, and enough agency to power a small village?" The answer is this gloriously speculative romp.
The author has clearly decided that the sparse historical record about Mary Magdalene was less of a limitation and more of a blank canvas for creative interpretation. Academic historians are probably weeping somewhere, but entertainment value? Through the roof!
I wondered if the author had access to some secret gnostic texts that the rest of us missed in New Testament class. The storytelling is engaging enough that you'll find yourself thinking, "Well, this *could* have happened... if we're being generous with our definition of 'could.'"
This book takes more creative liberties than a Renaissance painter depicting biblical scenes with Italian architecture. But here's the thing—it's *fun*! Sometimes you want scholarly rigor, and sometimes you want to read about what Mary Magdalene might have packed for lunch. Blodgett delivers enthusiastically on the latter.
Perfect for readers who enjoyed "The Da Vinci Code" but wished it had even less historical foundation and more pure imagination. Also ideal for book clubs that like to spend equal time discussing the plot and googling "Did this actually happen?" (Spoiler alert: probably not, but who cares?)
In conclusion: Five stars for shameless speculation, creative storytelling, and having the audacity to write a whole book about someone we historically know almost nothing about. It's not history—it's historical wishful thinking, and sometimes that's exactly what you need!
**Bottom line:** Check your expectations of historical accuracy at the door, grab some wine (she would approve), and enjoy this creative celebration of one of history's most mysterious figures. Just don't cite it in your thesis.
*Would recommend to: Fiction lovers, creative interpretation enthusiasts, and anyone who's ever wondered "But what was she REALLY like?"*
*Would NOT recommend to: Biblical scholars having a bad day, fact-checkers, or anyone expecting footnotes.
An Exciting and Entertaining Spiritual Journey Along the Space-Time Continuum
Magdelene’s Journey: The Untold Story of Mary Magdalene’s Life and Teachings is a beautifully written novel that blends historical insight, spiritual wisdom, and engaging storytelling. From the very first page, I was captivated by its compelling narrative, which reimagines Mary Magdalene—Miriam of Magdala—as more than just a supporting figure in history. Instead, she is presented as a healer, teacher, and equal partner to Jesus, embodying the divine feminine and complementing the divine masculine. Through meticulous historical references and imaginative astral projection sequences, this book offers a clean, dogma-free exploration of spiritual truths that feel as relevant today as they must have been centuries ago.
For me, one of the most intriguing revelations in Magdelene’s Journey is the mention of the lost “Gospel of Mary.” This profound yet often overlooked text anchors the story in a deeper exploration of how history has diminished Mary Magdalene’s role, especially her contributions to spiritual healing and teaching. The book’s clean, accessible narrative takes readers on a journey through time, weaving Goddess history and modern fantasy elements into a tale that transcends religious boundaries. By highlighting the archetypal balance of feminine and masculine energies, the author skillfully prompts readers to reflect on universal spiritual principles and their application to our modern lives.
This is more than just a historical novel; it’s an aspirational guide to understanding faith, surrender, and self-discovery. As I read, I found myself pondering profound questions, such as the true nature of the Holy Grail and the infinite potential of the “Authentic Self.” With relatable characters, an engrossing story, and insights from world religions, Magdelene’s Journey offers readers both entertainment and enlightenment. It’s a journey written for today’s spiritual seekers, reminding us that, in the words of the book itself, “If we are love, we are also the glue, holding the universe together.” Highly recommended for anyone ready to explore the timeless dance of healing, faith, and the divine within.
I found this book on Kindle Unlimited and enjoyed this testament to women's empowerment, elevating us to our legitimate place in this world and restoring balance among the sexes. As a feminist and rebel for as far back as I can remember, Magdalene's Journey resonates with me.
In ancient times, the mother/goddess symbolized fertility, sensuality, and power over life and death, but that diminished with the rise of patriarchy. We have believed that God is a man for over two thousand years. In reality, Yeshua and Miriam were neither she nor he but energies manifesting as male and female in the earthly realm. Magdalene's Journey challenges traditional gender beliefs, suggesting that there are no sexes; we are all the same, just created differently in human form for procreation. The book highlights men and women as co-creators who keep holding on to old beliefs that close our eyes to the truth. Source or God did not intend for us to be male-dominated; the divine feminine and divine masculine meant to exist together as one. Following the crucifixion, historical accounts passed down were biased translations serving those in power in a male-driven world. Unbalanced male domination caused structured religion to become corrupt because of sticking to the old dogma that encouraged this practice to continue for so long.
Mary Magdalene is portrayed not as a prostitute but as an equal partner who taught alongside Jesus. This reinterpretation of historical figures in the book is enlightening and intriguing, presented in a way that made me feel I was there observing as Yeshua, Miriam, Rochelle, and Angelo relayed their captivating story, allowing us to engage in a new light.
I recommend this book to all women and men with open minds. However, I will say to anyone who can't get past clinging to outdated religions, dogma, and beliefs that this may not be the book for you. I recommend it to anyone desiring to explore divine masculine and divine feminine energies. It gets a solid five stars from me.
I’ll be honest—I didn’t pick up Magdalene's Journey expecting to be moved. I grabbed it on a whim, mostly because someone I trust said it was “intense in a good way.” What I got was something I didn’t really see coming: a raw, powerful story that made me slow down and think about things I usually avoid thinking about.
At its core, Magdalene's Journey is about healing, pain, and the long road to forgiveness—especially of oneself. The main character, Magdalene, isn’t some perfect, polished protagonist. She’s bruised, stubborn, and real. Her journey, both literal and emotional, hits hard. It doesn’t sugarcoat trauma or pretend healing happens in a straight line. I respected that a lot.
Reading it as a young guy who grew up in a pretty average American setting—video games, late-night fast food, trying to figure out what to do with my life—Magdalene’s story opened up a perspective I hadn’t really engaged with before. There’s a deep vulnerability in how she processes her past, her grief, and her anger. And weirdly enough, I found parts of myself in her, even though on the surface we couldn’t be more different.
The writing is poetic without being overdone, and the imagery is vivid. There are moments where I had to stop and just sit with a sentence. One scene in particular—where she’s standing in the rain, finally letting go of something she’s been carrying for years—got to me in a way I didn’t expect. Like, I just sat there, phone face-down, staring at the ceiling.
If you’re looking for a fast-paced thriller or something light, this isn’t that. But if you want something that’s honest, a little painful, but ultimately hopeful, Magdalene's Journey is worth the time. It’s the kind of book that doesn’t just tell a story—it leaves a mark.
I’d recommend it, especially to other guys who maybe don’t read stuff like this all the time. Sometimes, stepping into someone else’s world for a few hours teaches you a hell of a lot about your own.
We now have several books on Miriam of Magdala (or Mary Magdalene). But the authors, Renee Blodgett and Anthony Compagnone, bring us a book like no other.
Magdelene’s Journey contains new insights into her life with her female apostles and new insights into the meanings of her ministry of I AM Christ Consciousness. The book’s startlingly fresh perceptions provide essential guidance on realizing the paradigm shifts many of us sense we are birthing in our world. The simultaneously earthy and sublime Miriam/Magdalene presents us with an effective example of the look and feel of feminine energy, grace, and power.
One highlight of the book is an introduction to the female apostles who aided Miriam/Magdalene on her journey into what is now France—each is conveyed with distinctive personality traits, gifts, and skills that together form a strong feminine collective. Another highlight is a chapter opening our eyes to a profound understanding of the miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead. This moving account serves as an illustration of miracle-making open to all of us. And it lifts us in a narrative crescendo to a view of what the exalted I AM teachings mean in earthly terms.
To help us grasp our oneness, the book weaves mystical experiences with modern quantum science, past and present wisdom teachings from a variety of traditions, and popular cultural references. Such a broad and deep context makes abundantly accessible the timeliness of Miriam’s/Magdalene’s life in the current re-balancing of masculine and feminine energies critical to the flourishing of our world, even its very survival.
The Divine Feminine Will Not Be Silenced! I’ve long been fascinated by writers who return to old stories through a feminist lens—who dare to give voice to the women history has often silenced or sidelined. Magdalene’s Journey, co-authored by Renée Blodgett and Anthony Compagnone, is one such reimagining: intimate, bold, and spiritually resonant.
Told primarily in the voice of Magdalene, as channeled by the character Angelo, this novel unfolds across layers of time and perception. It blurs the line between historical narrative, mystical transmission, and personal inquiry. Rochelle, Angelo’s partner, serves as a kind of stand-in for the reader—a questioner, a seeker, someone deeply curious about the threads of truth that emerge, even exploring how such a transmission might be understood through the lens of science. Her reflections add nuance, grounding the mystical in the realm of wonder and possibility. This is not a conventional retelling of the life of Yeshua and Magdalene. It’s an act of reclamation. A spiritual dialogue. A dance between what we’ve been told and what we might now come to know through embodied experience and inner knowing.
Truth arises in many forms—and this book reminds us that sometimes, it emerges not from outer validation but from the soul’s deep remembering.
A moving, provocative read—for anyone drawn to sacred story, feminine mysticism, or the liminal space where history and soul converge.
“Magdalene’s Journey: The Untold Story of Mary Magdalene’s Life and Teachings” by Renee Blodgett and Anthony Compagnone is a beautifully written exploration that blends spirituality, history, and scientific insight to reimagine the life of Mary Magdalene. The authors present her not just as a historical figure, but as a profound spiritual teacher and healer, offering a narrative that challenges traditional perspectives while embracing the divine feminine wisdom.
What sets this book apart is its unique integration of both spiritual and scientific perspectives. The authors delve into ancient wisdom, energy healing, and consciousness studies, connecting Magdalene’s teachings to modern understandings of quantum physics and human potential. This holistic approach offers readers an opportunity to explore the intersection of faith and science, encouraging a deeper contemplation of universal truths.
Through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis, Magdalene’s Journey serves as both an inspiring and educational read. Whether you’re drawn to the book for its historical intrigue, spiritual insights, or scientific connections, it provides a well-rounded and thought-provoking perspective on Mary Magdalene’s enduring influence. Highly recommended for those interested in spirituality, history, and the fusion of science and faith.

Magdalene's Journey is a luminous and courageous offering. What struck me most was the fierce authenticity of Mary Magdalene's voice; unapologetically honest, intuitively guided and deeply wise. It felt as if each word was infused with a knowing that only comes from direct experience and from a soul attuned to truth. As a woman walking a spiritual path and intimately connected to the sacred energies of Magdalene and Yeshua, the book resonated with me on every level. Renee's insights echoed many of my own discoveries, yet she brought language and context to them in a way that was both ancient and refreshingly new. This is not just a book. It is a remembrance, a reclamation. She is a mirror for those who are awakening to the Divine Feminine, healing old wounds and traumas, and stepping into their soul's purpose with clarity and grace. I found myself pausing and rereading chapters to allow the energetic transmissions to settle fully into my heart. Magdalene's Journey is a gift to anyone on a path of spiritual embodiment and healing. I whole heartedly recommend it to anyone ready to meet the Magdalene not as a myth, but a a living presence.
I was invited to share my thoughts on Magdalene’s Journey by Renee Blodgett and Anthony Compagnone, and I’m glad I took the time to reflect on its deeper message. This book offers a unique and powerful take on the life of Mary Magdalene—one that feels both bold and long overdue. Rather than sticking to the traditional narrative, it repositions her as a vital spiritual teacher and partner to Yeshua, challenging centuries of one-sided storytelling.
The blend of historical insight and spiritual reflection feels intentional and thought-provoking. It’s more than just a retelling—it’s an invitation to see ancient wisdom in a new light and consider how it still applies today. There’s a strong undercurrent of healing and inner balance that runs throughout the book, which makes it resonate on a personal level, especially for anyone exploring themes of identity, spirituality, and purpose.
If you're someone who appreciates stories that flip the script and make you think differently about the past—and what it means for the present—this book might really speak to you.
Spirituality is growing in the United States and the West elsewhere––particularly fresh explorations of love, compassion and the belief in a better world. One guide to this new path is Magdalene’s Journey: The Untold Story of Mary Magdalene’s Life and Teachings.
The book might be best described as a tale of imaginative fiction, in which Mary Magdalene and Yeshua (Jesus of Nazareth) tell the stories of their lives in a series of “visitations” with a modern Cambridge, Mass, couple. The narrative offers non-traditional perspectives on religious doctrine.
But more compelling is its contemporary interpretation of spirituality, offered through the lens of present-day morality and science. One lengthy discussion looks at masculine vs. feminine energies from a woman’s perspective. An even more intriguing discourse drills into the notion of god, claiming that god is you, god is us.
All told, Magdalene's Journey is a voyage of spiritual discovery well worth taking.
Magdalene’s Journey serves as a reminder that all women—past, present, and future—can find strength in embracing their full selves, no matter the roles they are cast into.
The book explores themes of healing, redemption, and the profound connection between spirituality and femininity. It brings attention to the often overlooked wisdom and intuition that women possess and how these qualities can shape their destinies. Magdalene’s story, in this light, serves as a beacon of hope for those seeking to reconcile their personal identities with the spiritual or cultural narratives they are thrust into.
Magdalene’s Journey is a breathtaking and deeply moving read that gave me a sense of pride in my own femininity while challenging the historical narratives that have limited women’s roles in both religious and secular life. It is a must-read for anyone who has ever felt marginalized or misunderstood, and for those who seek to rediscover the powerful women who have shaped history.
The authors bring the readers back in time to ancient Judea and there, we learn about Mary Magdalene’s life but from a women’s perspective, which is counter to many of the stories we have heard about her from that time period. Along the way, storytelling prevails, captivating the reader with esoteric teachings from old, but ones that also apply to modern times. Magdalene’s voice is uplifting but raw at times, sharing a truth that never saw the light of day. Like many powerful pieces of historical fiction, you’re brought into yesteryear but with fresh insights that make you think more deeply about our history and the multiple perspectives that people share. The book makes you think more deeply about what it means to be human and how our connection with each other matters. It’s a story of unity and love that wins over divisiveness and fear.
Potent and much-needed message of honoring the Feminine Renee and Anthony’s new book, Magdalene’s Journey, is an amazingly fun and exciting read. This captivating and compelling story has an inspiring message of valuing and honoring women and our desperate need for the balances of the sexes. It shows how deeply and blatantly the feminine has been repressed and creates a new perspective on the life of a strong Mary Magdalene with Jesus as co-creative partners. The story is told through a modern couple that shatters what we were told. Woven within the story is a powerful teaching that encourages us to own our Divine Self and live and co-create equally as men and women. I highly recommend this wonderfully engaging and worthy book.
Karina La Puma (aka Karen), author of the series A Toolkit for Awakening
I have read almost every book I can find about Mary Magdalene. There is some very good historical research that has been done about her life. But I have always wanted to find a book with channeled information about her entire life. Even though this is categorized as literary fiction, every part of it resonates with me and rings true.
I met the authors at one of their talks, and I could tell their channeling is very genuine. This book is not written from a place of ego but from a place of love. And Mary doesn’t shy away from talking about sexuality. It is an essential part of who we are as loving beings.
The message is profound, and I believe groundbreaking because much of this information has never been revealed. I believe Mary is inspiring many authors to write about her life. But this book is my absolute favorite.
Magdalene's Journey: The Untold Story of Mary Magdalene's Life and Teachings is a beautifully written and deeply insightful book that reimagines the life of Mary Magdalene. Renee Blodgett presents an evocative and transformative narrative that challenges long, held perceptions and brings forth a powerful message of divine feminine wisdom.
The book not only sheds light on Mary Magdalene’s true role but also encourages readers to reflect on history, spirituality, and the balance of energies within themselves and the world. The writing is raw, passionate, and deeply moving, making this a must read for anyone interested in history, spirituality, and self discovery. Highly recommend!
The book takes readers on a mystical journey through the lens of Mary Magdalene, exploring themes of divine feminine wisdom, love, and empowerment. It combines historical elements with a contemporary resonance that makes Magdalene’s story feel both ancient and timeless. The novel also tackles personal transformation and a deeper connection to spirituality.
Magdalene’s Journey is a beautifully written and thought-provoking book that will resonate if you're interested in spirituality, feminine power, and historical reinterpretation.
What an enlightening book. I was always curious about Mary Magdalene’s role during her life with Jesus and afterwards. Are you open to different views from what you have, or maybe have not, heard or read in a bible? Step back in time with the authors and you might just have a different perspective. Mary is what we call “Divine Feminine” and very powerful. Take a dive into this book and see if your perspective of Mary Magdalene changes. What a journey it was. Authors Renee Blodgett and Anthony Compagnone have written a “Best Seller” in my mind.
Magdalene’s Journey recounts the journey of Mary Magdalene, also known as Miriam de Magdala, as she travels from Israel to Gaul or what is now France. Classified as historical fiction, however, the story is told by channeling Angelo, one of the main characters. This unique narrative gives the perspective of a first-person account of what it was like to live during the times of Jesus, aka Yeshua.
Miriam gives not only the perspective of a woman, but a woman who is considered on equal footing as Yeshua. This paradigm shift opens the door to a feminine consciousness that radically changes the way Miriam is portrayed in a biblical context. She talks about her own followers, known as sisters, who spread the word of Yeshua as they traveled.
Miriam also talks about Yeshua as human—a carpenter who made furniture and who traveled to India as a young man. Also, Yeshua is portrayed as human first, then divine. But actually as He says through Angelo, we are all both human and divine.
What is the most unique about this book, however, is the way in which consciousness is explained, from the angle of a woman who lived 2,000 years ago, but who is still able to understand modern-day reality. The non-linear way in which Miriam explains consciousness gives a profound link to the divine that only she can provide.
I also liked the way Blodgett wove personal accounts of Rochelle’s life and her worldly travels with that of Miriam de Magdala.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is open to learning about consciousness on a whole new level!
Magdalene’s Journey is an eye and mind opening journey of speculation into the mind, soul and lived experiences of the most unknown famous woman in history. Sensitive, observant and richly detailed, blending, ancient social life, the wisdom of a woman expressed both in her time and through her own observations as she traveled through time and remodeled her POV on the way. With a read that will stick with you for a long time after reading.
This is an amazing journey! It opens your mind into all the facets in our history that were never told. It's written in an way that is so approachable with the manners of the main characters. I really enjoyed all the research and thought that went into what it was like 2000 years ago. And the classic quotes at the beginning of each chapter and references to the classics add a beautiful soliloquy of the book's true intent to the reader.
This book is absolutely surprising and not what I expected- but all of it resonated with me! It’s a powerful and empowering read. You must have an open mind to truly appreciate what’s written here. This is not the story of Mary Magdalene you’ve heard before! I learned so much and can’t wait to reread it absorb more!
It challenges the patriarchal dominated narrative that we’ve been led to believe as the only truth. What might this time have looked like from a woman’s eyes? It’s refreshing to hear about such a pivotal time in history from a controversial and misunderstood woman. Loved the science and esoteric wisdom layered throughout as well.
