A queen who yearns to marry her beloved. A powerful shifter who must choose between old attachments and new. Will their lives be joined? Or can enemies ruin their carefully planned future?
Determined to celebrate her ascension to the throne, Queen Alecia Zialni throws a coronation ball, even though her fiancé, Vard Anton, is absent. But disaster strikes when her young daughter goes missing during the evening.
Alecia fears she will never see her child again. Who has taken her, and what do they want? And how can she find a way forward if the worst happens?
Meanwhile, Vard is on a dangerous mission to locate his father, missing since the end of the recent war. He should be with Alecia, but there is time to complete his quest before their wedding day—at least he hopes there is. When he learns of the kidnapping, Vard must choose between returning to help rescue his daughter or forging ahead to find his father.
Can Alecia solve the mystery in time to save her toddler and wed her love? Or will the powers of darkness rob her of both her soul mate and her daughter?
To Wed a Queen is the exciting twelfth book in the epic Queenmakers Saga romantasy series from Bernadette Rowley. If you like strong heroines, political intrigue, and mythical creatures, you’ll love the captivating conclusion to the Queenmakers Saga.
Bernadette Rowley is an Australian epic fantasy romance author who is also a veterinarian. After flirting with picture books, junior fiction and space opera, Bernadette was challenged to write a romance in 2011 and she hasn’t looked back. First published by Penguin Australia and then Pan Macmillan Australia, Bernadette is now an independently published author. The Queenmakers Saga contains twelve books spanning the genres of fantasy romance and romantic fantasy. Her favorite tropes are enemies to lovers, forced proximity and forbidden romance. Strong themes include the horse/human bond and healing. When not at her desk, Bernadette can be found absorbed in a good romance or romantic suspense, swimming, walking or having coffee with friends.
I love and adore this series! It has been so full of action, magic, so many amazing characters, character growth, complicated politics and court intrigue galore and epic adventures across the kingdom!
I highly, highly recommend reading the series in order to get the maximum enjoyment with this final book’s conclusion. The series is composed of a bunch of books that feature a specific couple in them but they do all tie into an overall arc throughout the series. Plus we see all the characters come together in these last 4 books as Alecia takes her crown and finally marries the shifter of her dreams.
Well … at least after the hard fought, epic ride the author put them through in this book first. 🫣
Buckle up because it’s an all enthralling experience from the first page to the last.
Multiple povs told in third person (including the bear’s)
Steam - a couple spicy scenes
So so excited to see how far Alicia has come from book one to now. Plus I loved getting to see Merielle featured more in this one. (She’s been my favorite).
To Wed A Queen (book 12/12 in the epic Queenmakers Saga), by Bernadette Rowley, is one heck of a rollercoaster ride. It was everything I expected and so much more! Be prepared for massive doses of adventure, danger, kidnappings, battles, grave injuries and illnesses, healings, dragons and dragon riding, heightened emotions, hellhounds, shifter transformations and so much more. Being the final book, I had the wonderful opportunity to see multiple characters from earlier editions. Each one developed over time so that it feels like visiting with old friends. Overall, To Wed A Queen is a perfect finale for the phenomenal love saga of Alecia and Vard, and for all of the life stories of their vast array of friends. I highly recommend it, and all of the Queenmakers Saga!
We are at the end of this incredible fantasy saga and I have to say the author has done a fantastic job drawing us back in for one final time. Of course nothing goes to plan as Queen Alecia celebrates her ascension to the throne by throwing a coronation ball during which Iona goes missing! Her fiancé Vard is absent as he hunts for his missing father and was hoping to be done in time for the wedding. Secrets come to light and questions are answered in this fast paced and action packed read as our characters must find a way through the deception, the betrayal, the danger and the intrigue to save the child and get their hea. It’s been on hell of a ride, but definitely well worth it!
In this fast-paced action-packed tale of Queen Alecia and Lord Vard's final path to their wedding vows is fraught with deception, danger and devilry. Will Vard find his father Lyam? What happened to Vard and Alecia's child, Iona? Who are their friends and who are the unknown enemies of the Kingdom of Thorius? And what secrets can they share with whom?
I guess you'll just have to read it to get all the answers.
A satisfying conclusion to the Queenmakers Saga. Don't miss it!
To Wed a Queen is the final instalment in my twelve book Queenmakers Saga. From Queen Alecia’s fierce determination to Vard’s heart-wrenching dilemma, the story delivers both emotional depth and edge-of-your-seat intrigue. I've blended high-stakes romance, fantasy politics, and the raw intensity of a mother's love. If you love to see a hard-fought happily ever after, then you won't be disappointed with To Wed a Queen.
