Thought-provoking drama and science

This well-told story weaves complex characters into a labyrinth of scientific and historical mystery at the Georgia-Tennessee line. The twists and turns of Jack and Quincy's adventures at the unsettling lab in the woods incite the reader to ponder what road their own demons would lead them down at critical moments. With themes of family dynamics, racism in the late 20th century, friendship, conspiracy, chemistry, and government uncertainty, this riveting conclusion leaves you ready for more.

The book by H.C. Crane : A Lab in the Woods starts out with a bang. It follows a down on his luck scientists who is trying to turn his life around. His ability to both get himself into and then back out of sticky situations keeps you turning pages. It is a fun light read with interesting tidbits about the 1990's cold war, engines and chemistry.
