This workbook is a game-changer for parents, teachers, and therapists working with children who struggle with ADHD and emotional regulation. The blend of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) techniques is thoughtfully presented in a way that’s both educational and fun.

The activities are creative, interactive, and designed to hold a child’s attention—no small feat when focus can be a daily challenge. From mindfulness exercises to emotion-matching games, each page encourages kids to explore their feelings while learning practical coping strategies. The instructions are clear, making it easy for adults to guide children through the exercises without feeling overwhelmed by clinical jargon.

One of the standout features is how the workbook balances emotional growth with play. The lessons are broken down into bite-sized sections that promote gradual learning, ensuring kids don’t feel pressured or bored. There’s also a strong emphasis on positive reinforcement and celebrating progress, which is essential for building self-esteem.

Overall, CBT & DBT Workbook for Children with ADHD & Anger Management is an invaluable resource for helping kids better understand themselves while building essential life skills. It’s a well-organized, practical tool that empowers children and the adults supporting them. Highly recommended!

Helpful but...

I prefer more scholarly, research-based references and more reliable credentials than Google search and Web MD for insight and information. I need to feel confident in methodologies rather than skeptical. I would have likes to have seen more inclusion from the psychological pediatric community. Anecdotal stories and lived experiences are one source to consider, yes, absolutely, but the help parents need has to be grounded in established standards of care from accredited sources.

I love all of these books by SpreadLife Publishing. I talk about them regularly on my BookTok channel and I have referred them to so many people. I find them really helpful and this one is no exception. The whole series is super useful!
