Things We Healed After War

Rate this book
Dead don't come back to life. Not even in their world.

The war is over, but the battle to heal has just begun. It seems impossible when it's the heart of the Grim Reaper that lies broken. Grief meets anger and only chaos follows as new players step onto the stage, threatening to upend the fragile balance just as the end is almost there.

Dive into the breathtaking sequel of the TWLIW trilogy. Prepare for heartache, revelations, and the final goodbyes. The finish line is here, closer than ever, and this time, there may be no escape. Before you turn the page, remember the warning whispered at the crossroads by the mythical creature with the head of a beautiful woman, the body of a lion, and the majestic wings of an eagle.

Gods don't partake in mortal wars. But what if all along, these battles were theirs to begin with?

“When grief meets anger, only chaos follows."

This whole book was just emotional damage yet again. It felt like I was grieving right alongside these characters because damn. These characters are definitely going to stick with me. The message of grief and healing, fighting feelings of love but coming to accept it - was just beautiful. Though the romance was more of a subplot, I still enjoyed it being there. I enjoyed how we got to experience different types of grief and as always the found family trope, my favourite. Why this wasn’t a full 5 stars was because I would’ve loved just a little longer with the epilogue or some kind of bonus scene but I knew this story was not going to be a happily ever after, and what we did get was everything at the same time 🥲.

"You know we'll follow you. Wherever you go, the rest of us will be right behind."

Other fave quotes:
“If this isn't our sory, if we don't make it in this universe, I swear to you, I will find you in every other one."

"And that's why it's so damn entertaining to watch the world burn. For once, we're not the ones fanning the flames - or getting burned by them.'

“He would offer up everything he had left, even the shattered remains of his soul, just to keep her here for one more moment.”

"Things always even out. No matter how bad or good they are. It's both comforting and depressing, isn't it? The world can't stay in extremes. Eventually, it always drifts back to the middle."

“Have you ever destroyed something perfect for you, just to be certain that you're the reason you no longer have it?”

“But you - you are the one thing I can never say goodbye to. You are a part of me.”
