“If only the mistakes of the last year could’ve been washed away by last night’s storm. Returning to Jonathon Island was supposed to give her the peace she’d been craving, but the consistent turmoil in her chest made her restless.”

Both Sadie Hudson and Asher Quinn have a past filled with mistakes and regrets. They are carrying too much baggage and are weary, but soon learn that they can’t allow what happened in the past to keep them from moving forward. They agree that scars will always be part of their story, but needn’t give them the power to destroy their present or their future. Through healing those past hurts, they are brought together and grab the opportunity for second chances.

I enjoyed the focus on legacy, on not underestimating God, on forgiveness, and on the burden of keeping secrets. However, it was the reminder to “come out of hiding, reveal the scars and embrace the life God has called us to live” that spoke to me the loudest. Hiding or punishing ourselves doesn’t change what happened. We can’t allow the demons to continually chase us. I loved the encouragement to ask God “to uproot any seeds of bitterness.” What a great visual!

In many cultures, blueberries are symbols of healing and protection. I love how this idea parallels the name of the book. Sadie and Asher learn so many great lessons on Blueberry Hill, mostly centered around healing to move forward and protecting their peace.

“Falling in love means giving pieces of your heart away. When those you love leave you, then those pieces of your heart are gone forever.”

If you’ve ever felt a failure, felt like you’ve let someone down, feel like you can’t move forward or don’t see a way to put your past and the hurts behind you … consider this a gentle nudge to add this one to your reading pile. It’s prescriptive reading!

I was gifted this copy and was under no obligation to provide a review.

Can I visit Jonathan Island? The businesses, citizens, events and lifestyle sound fabulous!

Sadie and Asher are both on Jonathan Island to help out family and figure out what to do with their lives. Neither is seeking romance. Asher isn't even seeking friendship from anyone. He is trying to hide following a tragic accident. Sadie's last romance crashed and burned in humiliating fashion. While I typically get frustrated with characters or a character keeping a secret, in this case, it was completely understandable why Asher was reluctant to expose himself to others.

Theirs is a sweet, slow building romance that starts with a lot of bickering as they are forced to interact due to their next door neighbor status.

Look forward to the next in the series.

My gratitude to publisher Sunrise for a complimentary copy of the novel. I was not required to post a review and all opinions expressed are my own.

This was one of my favourite books in the series.

There was so much I can highlight, but to not reveal spoilers I will just say I enjoyed every interaction between the main characters.

Sadie and Asher both had to move on from great loss. Their healing process felt realistic and honest throughout the story.

Would love to see more from these two!

What a sweet contemporary romance read. Sadie and Asher both were hurting, had scars from their respective pasts, and needed healing. Sadie experienced betrayal. I hurt for Asher who has demons from his past. This is a story of forgiveness and healing with wounded characters who must decide to come out of hiding and embrace the life God gave them.

Meet Me on Blueberry Hill is the first book I have read written by Lisa Jordan and it did not disappoint. This is the fourth book in the Jonathan Island series, and it has completely blown me away. Featuring different authors but all creating this perfect story. You can read this as a stand-alone, but you will not be disappointed if you read them all.

The character development was good. Sadie is dealing with the loss of her sister and her past relationship that ended badly. Learning to trust men again after being burned in her past relationship takes a process. Asher is dealing with the guilt of feeling responsible for the deaths of friends. Seeing him process this all while also trying to find who he is and who he is in Christ.

The setting and storyline were perfect. I loved the Hallmark small town/island setting. If you love Hallmark movies this is the story for you. You have a secret identity, untold truths, carriage rides, and the boy next door.

This grumpy next-door neighbor romance between Asher and Sadie is a sweet and low-spice, kisses-only romance.

Lisa Jordan did a great job of intertwining faith throughout the book. I loved seeing the real struggle of the characters as they come back to God after such a great tragedy.

Quote: “I’m sorry for the pain you’re feeling. Just know, God will never betray you. Or humiliate you. His love will sustain you and give you the strength to move forward. You can always go to Him for wisdom and guidance. He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Such a gripping heart wrenching story. The last thing Sadie thought she’d find was love on the island when she ends up jobless, homeless and single. When she lands on her grandmothers doorstep to help after her grandmothers hip surgery she doesn’t realize the island is just what she needs. Love is the last thing on Asher Quinn’s mind but when he meets Sadie on a stormy night at his front porch, he is in for a whirlwind of emotions. Will Sadie and Asher find their healing in each other or will they go their separate ways after finding out the secrets of Asher’s past. I just loved these two in each of the JI books each character grips my heart in a new and exciting way.

I love these Jonathan Island books! And I love meeting all the people there.
This is such a touching story of two people who are attracted to each other not realizing that they share the most tragic event of their lives.
They must each find a way to forgive and heal. Only by realizing that until they step forward in forgiveness can they walk together into God’s best plan for their lives.
Thank you to the author for allowing me to read this book. The opinions are entirely my own.

Asher Quinn is known as the reclusive man on Jonathan Island who only cares for horses. Only a few people know his true story. Asher is carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. He does not believe that he deserves any happiness in life, so he just goes about his way being a grumpy man with very little fellowship with others, unless they have four legs. The horses on his aunt and uncle's ranch provide him with some comfort. However, he is in a dark place.

Sadie has moved in with her grandmother next door to Asher. She has moved into to help her grandmother as she heals from surgery. Sadie has some scars from her past that have stymied her growth as well, but she is not really grumpy, just angry.

This beautiful relationship took on legs of its own while daring two broken souls to think, even for a moment, that they could have happiness in their lives again. But secrets from the past definitely threaten the fragility of this new relationship.

I felt so sorry for Asher. He quit living five years ago, and just existed. He mentally torments himself daily shouldering the blame for a horrific accident. His faith is shattered as well. He deserves to live.

This was a true case of divine intervention as these two broken souls were put into each other's path, not by coincidence, but by design. They both had something the other needed. This will pull on your heart strings and make you tear up as you learn more about their past, but it will also show you that true forgiveness can lighten the load and restore happiness in someone's life. You can scars from the past, and still live for the future.

This story had some true depth, and these characters will capture your heart. I was emotionally wrung out after finishing this book.

Thank you to Sunrise Publishing for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A wonderful sweet contemporary romance set on Jonathan Island! I so enjoyed Meet Me on Blueberry Hill by Lisa Jordan. A wounded hero, the recluse next door, and a granddaughter who has come home with her own wounds to help her grandmother while she recovers after surgery, start off on the wrong foot.

Asher Quinn, the recluse next door, is on Jonathon Island to look after his aunt and uncle's farm. He has not gotten over a tragedy that happened five years ago, taking the blame even though it wasn't his fault. He is very sweet to his elderly neighbor, he checks on her during storms, and does handyman tasks around her house.

Sadie Hudson has always wanted to be a songwriter, but that dream died with her sister five years ago. She is a copywriter at a crossroads trying to determine her next step as she helps her Grandma and composes the advertising for the town's upcoming end of summer festival. (She was Lily Hart's roommate in Florida before Lily moved back to Jonathon Island and there was a battle for the fudge shop.)

A story of family, friendships, overcoming past trauma, and love. Fans of sweet contemporary romances won't want to miss it. Fans of the Jonathon Island series, won't want to miss it!

Meet Me on Blueberry Hill is book #4 in the multi author Jonathon Island series.

Sadie Hudson has returned to Jonathon Island to help as her grandmother recovers from hip surgery. Her plan is to use her time on the island to figure out what to do with her life after a recent deception upends her world. She’s also still dealing with the loss of a dream that ended with the tragic death of her sister. Sadie was definitely not looking for a man.

Asher Quinn is Sadie’s grandma’s reclusive neighbor. He looks after his neighbor while watching his aunt and uncle’s farm. He’s hiding from the world after he’s involved in a terrible accident that he blamed himself for. Asher just wanted to be left alone.

When Sadie and Asher meet sparks begin to fly. With the baggage that each carries it seems unlikely that they will have a future.

To me this book had a different feel than the first three Jonathon Island books but I loved it all the same. The book is well written, the characters were well developed, and their story beautifully crafted. There are some real tear-jerker moments in this book as both characters confront their pasts, learn to forgive, and begin to heal.

This beautiful contemporary romance, with its themes of forgiveness, embracing your gifts, finding courage, and dealing with guilt, is heartfelt and memorable. I loved Asher’s journey from darkness to light, learning to let go and forgive himself and open himself up to hope for the future. And Sadie’s journey is equally as rewarding, as she finds courage, forgiveness, and purpose. Their romance was sweet and an emotional journey as secrets and past trauma threaten to come between them. But like the rest of this great Jonathon Island series, happy-ever-after lies on the other side of the conflict in the most satisfying of ways. I loved Hetty, escape artist Gus, catching up with friends from previous books, and the truths of faith evident on the pages. This is a great story- don’t miss it!

Thank you to Sunrise Publishing for a complementary copy of this book. I was not asked to leave a positive review, and my opinions are my own.

When reading all the stories set on Jonathon Island, we get to meet Asher and Sadie. It’s fun to read their story now, along with all the drama that comes with it. Both of them have past pain and need healing from relationships and tragedies.
This book is a tender story of forgiveness and finding love when it seems impossible. I loved all their many moments filled with tension and bits of crazy events. I also enjoyed getting to know Hetty and her charms.
Lisa Jordan is a new-to-me author, and she has a delightful way with words. The whole story flowed and progressed smoothly. She brought the island to life with her descriptions and dialogue. I truly enjoyed reading this book.
I now look forward to the next book in this series.
I highly recommend that you pick up this book to start your adventures on Jonathon Island with all its colorful characters.

“Don’t, don’t, don’t give your heart away to the boy next door…”
Unless, of course, he’s a broody, wounded hero like Asher Quinn—and your sunshine is exactly what he never knew he needed.

Sadie Hudson never planned on returning to Jonathon Island—or falling for her grumpy, reclusive neighbor. But when her grandmother needs her, and Sadie finds herself literally rescued by Asher (from both a toppled tree and her buried dreams), something begins to shift between them. What follows is a redemptive slow-burn romance built on healing, grace, and a love that says, “You’re never too broken.”

This was my first Lisa Jordan book, and now I want to read everything she’s written. Her writing is heartfelt and hope-filled, with faith and emotional depth woven in so beautifully. I felt wrapped up in this tender story and didn’t want to leave Jonathon Island when I turned the last page.

Lisa Jordan's Meet Me on Blueberry Hill was everything I could have asked for: Romantic, genuine, heart-wrenching, and meaningful. This contemporary romance was thoroughly entertaining, yet held a depth that tugged at my heart. As we watch love melt away scars and hidden pasts, the message of forgiveness and God's faithfulness comes forth loud and clear.

I have loved all the books in this series, and Lisa Jordan does not disappoint. The small town charm of this island and all its lovable (and unlovable) characters welcome me to embrace it. This book has been the perfect summer read, and I look forward to the rest of the series!

Return to Jonathon Island as the residents work to restore the island to it's former glory. Asher is hiding out and working to restore his grandparents' carriage tour business. It is a secret that he is a well-known singer who blames himself for the deaths of his band. Sadie is next door helping her grandmother recover from surgery and recovering from a romantic betrayal. Circumstances keep throwing the two together as they work through their pasts and to help Jonathon Island recover. Sometimes learning to forgive ourselves is the hardest part. I loved how author Lisa Jordan was able to have the protagonists forgive others and accept God's love. I recommend Meet Me on Blueberry Hill to others. I received a complimentary e-book through Sunrise Publishing. This is my honest opinion.

This next book in the Jonathon Island series was just as good as the previous books. In general, the story dealt with heavier, more tragic events than the other books, but the topics of hope and peace in God, forgiveness, family relationships, and moving forward were all the more compelling because of the tragic story. In light of that, though I was very much encouraged, this book made me cry. A lot. Be prepared with tissues at the ready! I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys inspirational romance, and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

Meet Me a Blueberry Hill is a must-read novel! There is laughter, a meddling grandma, awesome music, and a sweet love story. This is the first story I've read by Lisa Jordan, and I look forward to reading her future stories.

Asher and Sadie are awesome! Their meet-cute was great, and Asher's broody grumpy self is a fantastic contrast to Sadie happier extraverted ways.

If you haven't read the earlier books in the Jonathon Island series, then I would highly recommend it as these stories are quite connected.

I highly recommended this book while this book is part of series, it a perfect standalone book.

“Meet Me on Blueberry Hill” is a tender story that explores the power of forgiveness, faith, and second chances. The characters are beautifully flawed. They are real people who carry deep scars yet find the courage to open their hearts again. Lisa Jordan handles themes of shattered faith and personal redemption with grace and authenticity.

What stood out most to me was the emotional honesty of the story. It doesn’t offer easy answers because sometimes there simply aren’t any. The end feels both earned and deeply satisfying.

Disclaimer: I am an author of a future book in this series, but this review reflects my genuine reading experience.

The book centers around Isaiah 43:2 which is one of my favorite verses and I loved the way it worked throughout the story.

Asher and Sadie have both come to the Island battling their own pasts. They both have shut themselves off from others to protect themselves. Can they come together through words and music?

My favorite part of the story was Gran and her relationship with Sadie and Asher. She is such an encouragement to both of them and is able to provide such godly wisdom.

Thanks to Sunrise Publishing for the arc. The opinions are my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this contemporary Christian romance.
This story is a valuable lesson showing that forgiving others is a whole lot easier than forgiving yourself. It’s even harder when the blame is unjustifiable.
I loved how faith is interwoven into the story and how through God Sadie & Asher realized that to live the life God had planned for them, they had let go of their shame & guilt and embrace forgiveness of themselves & others.

Meet Me on Blueberry Hill

Wow! Such a fantastic faith based book teaching the reader about hope, trust and forgiveness. Sadie and Asher each have their own crosses to bear. Sadie returns to the Island to help her grandmother while she recovers from hip surgery. Asher has been taking care of his uncles place next door and has tried to give a helping hand to Sadie’s grandmother. Sadie finds him grumpy and hard to get to know. As they get to know each other they become closer. But Asher has a secret that could wreck any chance of a relationship between them.

I truly loved this book. Lisa did a phenomenal job bringing Asher and Sadie’s story to life. I have enjoyed the entire series so far but (and maybe this is too early) Lisa may have written my favorite installment. I loved the depth of the characters and the realistic reactions to being hurt and being jaded. But her reminder that God will never fail us brought it all together in an inspirational story. Great job, Lisa!

I am so loving this entire series! The authors at Sunrise Publishing have created a world I wish I could visit, and Lisa’s book is the perfect continuation of this ongoing story. Grumpy Asher has a lot of trouble in his past, and Sadie isn’t interested in even being in his presence, especially when she discovers how his past entwines with hers. But of course situations on this small, close-knit island keeps throwing them together, giving us all the drama we could want in an endearing romance.

I really enjoy the Jonathon Island series. I love the focus on faith during the struggle. I really appreciated that while communication was an issue in the conflict, it was acknowledged that is WAS an issue. It kept the story from turning into an annoying miscommunication trope.

It's fun to see characters from previous books play an important role in each new story. It ties the series together well.

Sometimes secrets are kept for a reason. Sometimes they come back to bite you. And trust is much harder to regain once it's been lost.

This is a beautiful story of a woman learning to trust and a man who feels like he doesn't deserve a second chance.

When his secret is exposed, can he hope for another chance? Or is her trust too broken?

A great reminder that God doesn't keep secrets, extends grace, and excels at second (third, fourth...) chances.

You can’t marry a man you just met!

Just kidding. While I enjoyed this book it just wasn’t my favorite in the Jonathon Island series. Definitely worth a read though. I felt the secrets were dragged out a bit too long and the ending was a bit rushed. It says grumpy/sunshine but honestly I can’t tell who was suppose to be the sunshine they were both depressed and burdened. Dani deserved a better friend. (My quick initial thoughts after finishing the book)
I love Asher and I want to give him a hug and tell him everything will be ok and he deserves better.
