Earth’s Moon has been colonized for generations. Its inhabitants live and work under the auspices of the Allied Lunar Combine—a group of corporations whose competitive relationships have evolved into cooperation. The Combine’s drive and ambition have turned the barren satellite into a profitable, harmonious enclave.
Until now…
Erik Morrison doesn’t want to be on the Moon. From the time he sets foot in Villanueva Base—the multilevel, underground city that serves as the hub of civilization for the lunar surface—he feels out of place and out of touch. He just wants to do a good job as the EnTek Corporation’s new Site Coordinator and earn his way back to terra firma as soon as possible. If only it were that easy…
For there is more than business as usual going on here. A dangerous game of greed and power is being played. So far, Morrison is just a pawn. But he’s about to uncover a shocking revelation that some want exposed—and that some will do anything to keep to themselves…
As a young man, Mr. Askegren took part in his parents high-wire circus act until an accident stopped that career for him at age 11. He acquired a love of comic books and of writing in general, which he turned into a profession. In addition to the Alias book, he wrote several books based on comic book series such as Spider-Man and Iron Man. He died of a heart attack at age 51.
Summary: To start off I read the book Human Resource: Inconstant Moon #1 by Pierce Askegren. The main characters of this book are Erik Morrison and Wendy Scheer. The story takes place on the moon which is operated by 5 ALC companies.Erik is a small man in height but built very big. He has an assistant named Juanita Garcia. Juanita had blue eyes with blonde hair. Through out the story they are many tasks Eric has to accomplish but does not know why he has to do them. Erica does a lot of investigating around the moon. In the story there is a man named Ramirez. Ramirez goes missing and both Wendy and Eric want to find him. Both have different intentions on finding Ramirez but I do not want to give it away. Since 5 ALC companies are operating on the moon each company is finding ways to earn money by obtaining resources at a low expense.
Review: The book Human Resource by Pierce Askegren was a great book if you are into science fiction and like stories that take place on the moon. The plot of the story took a while to develop but once you got to know the characters the story was good. Any story that takes place on the moon is interesting because pretending to be on the moon is sweet and in real life people have been on the moon. I never was a big fan of science fiction but after seeing Twilight Zone and Star Trek I began to have a bigger interest in the genre. I recommend this book to anyone who has a big imagination and who thinks the moon is an interesting topic. To love science fiction you need a big imagination because the cool thing about science fiction is anything thing can happen. So please read this book if you want to go on an adventure of a lifetime.
