The background girl who keeps the peace, stays quiet, and survives.
And I've been surviving Dom too long. Forgiving too much. Staying too long.
When I finally end it, I'm numb. Free, though not unscathed.
But I have some solace. My pen pal R always understands.
Except he's leaving. And burlesque lounge Titter's closing for renovations.
My anchors lift; I’m losing everything.
On Titter’s last night, Dom shows up. Catches me with rockstar Evander Reed.
Things…escalate.
Did I mention they have bad blood?
Suddenly, Evander's helping me run. From Dom, my past, and myself.
On the road somewhere between his hometown and mine, I start to feel… seen.
I can be the real Molly, and in such close quarters, it’s hard to keep our hands to ourselves.
But Evander and me? We’re DOA. He has a plane to catch…and my heart belongs to R.
At least, it did…
There’s something in the way Evander knows my every thought. It’s impossible to keep from falling head over heels for the sweet, protective rockstar.
If only I could shake the feeling he’s hiding something.
Some secrets bring people together.
Others? They shatter everything.

This is book three in the “Backbone & Burlesque” series and connects with the first two novels. Molly has always preferred to blend into the background at Titter, if that’s possible on the stage of a burlesque club. She had an abusive relationship with her ex and her Titter family is fiercely protective of her, especially her best friend Zara. But unbeknownst to them, she has an even closer confidante, R, whom she has been writing to for years, telling him all her thoughts, feelings, hopes and fears and being a non-judgemental and encouraging friend to him. When her ex returns to claim her, she’s rescued by Evander, who protects her from him as he did once before and whisks her away to safety. The time they spend together makes Molly wonder if Evander could be the perfect man for her, even better than R, who is about to take a huge step in realising his own dreams. She knows it’s time to make a change and discover what she really wants, and spending time with Evander is the beginning she needs.
The author has created two complex and vulnerable main characters in Molly and Evander and they are supported by the very entertaining cast of characters from Titter and beyond. Molly and Evander’s lives and pasts are complicated but they always have time for others, providing support, love and positive words. When the focus of their time is solely on each other, there’s no limit to how much they can grow and make bold decisions which elevate their lives, confidence and happiness. Swoon is a story full of emotion, vulnerability, the strongest of friendships, and soul satisfying steam – highly recommended for readers who love a story that pulls you in, doesn’t let go and stays with you afterwards.

If this is your first time visiting this series, please start with book 1. You will thank me. I've enjoyed every book within this series so far, it has a great friendship group that change as the series develops, they explore lots of different topics and situations. Molly and Evanders story is a sweet love between two people who come from small towns, written in a slightly different manner as it includes their penpal letters. As with all books i read I always say check the trigger warnings before reading. I won't give any spoilers but I highly recommend this story, there are twists and turns, but that's just keeping it real.
Love love loved this book. It was great to get back to the Titter Bar gang and getting to know Molly's story. Evander being there for Molly when she needed rescuing was like a knight in shining armour and he totally was such a nice guy. With some miscommunication the career challenges Molly and Evanders happily ever after was perfect. I absolutely enjoyed Molly evading the concert security scene. Mia Sparrow the next book excerpt has me ready to start as soon as it gets released you are an amazing author.
I enjoyed this book. I think my favorite things about this book is the letters between Evander and Molly. It added this different kind of dimension to their relationship and the book. It was such an interesting and unique concept. The characters were relatable yet vulnerable. Molly and Evander had such a sweet but powerful type of relationship. It felt a little slow to build up to but it was a good read. I recommend.
Review of Book 3 in the Backbone & Burlesque Series This third installment in the Backbone & Burlesque series is a highly enjoyable and well-crafted read. I strongly recommend starting with the first book to fully appreciate the development of the story and characters. Overall, the plot is engaging, and the characters are compelling, making this book a worthwhile addition to the series.
Absolutely loved Evander and Molly. Evander cared so much for Molly and she never realized it. I love the Titter family and how they always have each other's back.
