Comprehensive Coverage of the 16-Hour Structural SE Exam Topics

The Structural Engineering Reference Manual prepares you for the NCEES 16-hour Structural SE exam. This book provides a comprehensive review of structural analysis and design methods related to vertical and lateral forces. It also illustrates the most useful equations in the exam-adopted codes and standards, and provides guidelines for selecting and applying these equations. Over 225 example problems illustrate how to apply concepts and use equations, and over 45 end-of-chapter problems let you practice your skills. Each problem’s complete solution allows you to check your own approach. You’ll benefit from increased proficiency in a broad range of structural engineering topics and improved efficiency in solving related problems.

Quick access to supportive information is just as important as knowledge and efficiency. This book’s thorough index directs you to the codes and concepts you will need during the exam. Throughout the book, cross references to more than 700 equations, 40 tables, 160 figures, 8 appendices, and the following relevant codes point you to additional support material when you need it.
