༺✿ H𝐔N𝐓I𝐍G P𝐑E𝐓T𝐘 ✿༻Is the first full length psychological thriller in the (Lovely Broken Doll) series by new to me author Sienna Blake. Spoken in dual perspectives. Ava and The Shadow (or as she's named him Scáth).This thrilling suspenseful read had me by the throat as soon as I started, I was pulled into Ava’s twisted games of cat and mouse as she strove to uncover the truth behind the numerous female student’s disappearances on campus, her best friend included. But digging too deep has put her on the radar of some dangerous people, and they don't have any qualms about ending her life.
This definitely kept me on my toes, twist after twist, the storyline kept my attention throughout..
Her journalism skills were definitely getting put to the test as she uncovered little breadcrumbs throughout. But these crumbs also lead her down a dark rabbit hole as her own suppressed memories started resurfacing. Memories that if all were divulged could destroy the very essence of herself.

‘I leaned over to pump some Molton Brown conditioner in my hand’. Now, is this quote significant to the plot.… Nope. Yet I became fixated on it. I couldn’t understand why I was dragged out of this dark reality by a quote that sounded like an Ad in a lifestyle magazine. I was so confused by the product placement 😂
Regardless of what this man was planning to do with that Molton Brown conditioner, I didn’t get why this namedrop happened. It just broke the flow of the book.
Then I started to think about it more. What does it mean? Why was that very real brand mentioned? Then I google it and these products are like 25 quid and upwards, so was it mentioned to hint at his wealth? Then in the next paragraph, a bomb was dropped 🤯… and we find out that the Molton Brown conditioner was not his at all. He stole it from the woman he was stalking (I will get to that later), so she turned out to be the fancy one and we should be putting her under a microscope.
This was such a minuscule part of the book and yet I could stop thinking about it. It’s like when a celebrity is promoting a movie, but at the same time they mention their skincare brand or alcohol products or perfume, and it sounds like the most unnatural thing.
I can’t believe I’ve written 4 small paragraphs about this, but I am keeping them in, so I can look back on how delusional this made me. Back to the main story…
This was a stalker romance, so I was expecting the dark aspects, but I wasn’t expecting the scooby-doo mystery that followed. The first chapter started off with a WTF moment before I knew what was happening. Honestly, I liked it best that way. I don’t need easing in.
The ‘feelings’ progressed pretty quickly, but at least she was questioning her feelings for this man and knew this situation was f**cked up.
‘I should be terrified.
I was terrified
But for some stupid reason, I also felt…alive.’
There was an internal battle, so I appreciated her reservations. It wasn’t a hunt me darling situation, which I will not even comment on.
Despite the good point, I’m pausing at 40%. There was a lot of stalker tension, but I think I needed more…or for more focus to be on the relationship and less on the mystery. I’m not blaming the book because it’s really well-written and engaging, but I think I’m in the mood for something else. Have to say the small spice scene I did read was 🔥🔥🔥🔥

This honestly and truly might be the best recommendation I’ve ever gotten from TikTok in my life.
I live for dark romance mysteries and it was so many secrets , lies and truths revealed and yet I still have so many questions like how is that possible?
Ava is a bad ass sassy stubborn fmc & shadow is her stalker and protector so it’s already going good because we eat stalker stories up don’t we?😅 Once Ava’s friend Liath goes missing Ava becomes Nancy Drew to find out the truth , but who knew the truth also meant uncovering parts of her own past that Shadow wanted her to never know? Then the warden enters the chat just for the book to end😭. It’s okay tho because baby I’m about to tap into book two RIGHT TF NOW‼️

This story had me intrigued from get go. 1) my first Theo & Maddi audiobook, and Irish accents no less! 2) The story is already moving as soon as you get started, so be ready to go.
It feels like you get to the action and mystery straight away, but then there’s more, and more, and moree. You just don’t actually know what or who is pulling the strings.
I loved the mystery, the intense dynamics between Ava and Shadow. There’s some gory scenes, but rightfully so! (IYKYK). Nothing tooooo heavy, but heavy enough for a dark rom reader.

This was a good little dark stalker romance set in a prestigious college. THE. SPICE. My goodness. Yes please. It’s giving Haunting Adeline x Little Stranger with an Irish accent. Definitely ends on a CLIFFHANGER so I’ll be looking for book 2 asap. Overall recommend 🖤

This book belongs in the trash.
The author completely misled readers by marketing it as an MF romance, only to randomly introduce another man halfway through the book and turn it into MFM 🤡🤡🤡.
This feels like a cheap trap: you start the first book expecting a story about one man and one woman, only to discover that the rest of the series revolves around two men and one woman. That kind of bait-and-switch is dishonest and disrespectful to readers.
I dropped the book immediately. I’m not interested in forcing myself to read content 🤢🤢nor am I willing to clutter my mind with something I find uncomfortable and off putting.

First of all, this book took me on an incredible journey! It combines all the mystery and suspense of a psychological thriller with the intensity of a dark romance, all wrapped up in one story. I’ve been drawn to novels featuring a strong female protagonist, and Ava certainly fits that description. She is a journalism student trying to uncover the mysteries of her past in therapy after being adopted following her time in the foster system. Her journalistic instincts compel her to investigate further, even when a morally grey, obsessive, masked man warns her to stop. Why isn’t she afraid of him? After all, he’s her stalker—a character who will make you both melt, with and without a knife. iykyk.
The plot cleverly connects various characters in unexpected ways, keeping me guessing until the very end. Each page had me reevaluating what I thought I knew about the characters, and I was on edge the entire time. I’m sad that the story has come to an end, but I'm eagerly anticipating book two.

I was so honored to listen to the ALC for Hunting Pretty, narrated by Theo & Madi, these two always bring every character to life perfectly! I highly recommend the audiobook for Hunting Pretty!
Ava is a journalist at a prestigious college, so when her best friend disappears without a trace she determined to get to the bottom of what happened no matter what. Ava, however, has no memory of her past, she was adopted 5 years ago, but before that nothing. So getting someone to believe her may be the hard part, everyone just says her friend ran away, but Ava knows that’s not what happened.
The shadow, he’s determined to protect Ava at all costs, stalking from the shadows, he’s promised to protect her no matter what. She doesn’t belong to him though, and the more time he spends around her the harder it becomes to resist her.
This is a psychological dark romance that I think is perfect for seasoned dark romance readers and beginners into the genre alike.

Immediately diving into book 2 because that was outstanding literally no complaints. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and was gripping the hell out of my kindle. That was so dark and twisted… I’m so shocked

Edit to add to review: just did a reread with the new audio book! Wow!! Duet style narration and both narrators did an amazing job and really brought this story to life. Even though I knew what was going to happen I was still at the edge of my seat.
Wow. Wow. Wooooowww. I think, no, I know this is my new favorite stalker romance. I was sucked in from page one and it had me in a chokehold.. even now, over a week later and I can’t stop thinking about this book. The suspense and mystery was out of this fucking world. Ava was adopted by a wealthy surgeon five years ago but due to her past trauma she’s repressed all her memories up until then. She’s currently a journalist student at a prestigious university. When one of her best friends disappears without a trace she’s determined to find out what happened. Through all of this she’s being stalked and tormented by the man she’s deemed the shadow. The Shadow is determined to stop her from finding out at all costs. The twist and turns this book takes gave me whiplash but in the best way. It is every single thing I could want in a dark stalker romance. && the spice 😮💨 wowza.
Book one ends on a MASSIVE cliff hanger so be prepared! Thankfully we don’t have to wait long for book 2.

Wow. Wow. Wooooowww. I think, no, I know this is my new favorite stalker romance. I was sucked in from page one and it had me in a chokehold.. even now, over a week later and I can’t stop thinking about this book. The suspense and mystery was out of this fucking world. Ava was adopted by a wealthy surgeon five years ago but due to her past trauma she’s repressed all her memories up until then. She’s currently a journalist student at a prestigious university. When one of her best friends disappears without a trace she’s determined to find out what happened. Through all of this she’s being stalked and tormented by the man she’s deemed the shadow. The Shadow is determined to stop her from finding out at all costs. The twist and turns this book takes gave me whiplash but in the best way. It is every single thing I could want in a dark stalker romance. && the spice 😮💨 wowza.
Book one ends on a MASSIVE cliff hanger so be prepared! Thankfully we don’t have to wait long for book 2.

This book was SO GOOD! If you like masked, morally dark grey, possessive, stalker men with touch her and die vibes, this one’s for you. Perfect for fans of HD Carlton’s cat and mouse duet and Navessa Allen’s Lights Out… you will binge read this book. 🔥
There was so much plot! It’s equally a thriller and dark romance as far as the plot goes. The FMC is likeable, head strong, and trying to piece together her past while figuring out details behind her friend’s disappearance. The MMC comes equipped with rippling muscles, primal/weapon play, deep dark obsession, childhood trauma, and steadfast loyalty to the woman he craves. He also knows how to use a knife, in all the ways. 🤭🫠
The book ends on a cliffhanger and I cannot freaking believe I can’t read the second one right now. My heart is still racing from the ending. 😵
The build up, the spice, the fmc combatting how much the chase both terrifies her and turns her on…. All executed flawlessly. 🫶

Bored to tears until about 60% when everything finally started to pop off ALAS not even all that excitement could keep me motivated to read more of these books
PS: The author’s obsession with NAME DROPPING brand name crap (Fendi, Mercedes, Chanel, Hermes) was so distracting to me. I understand the intent behind it (wealth, wealth, and more wealth) but it came off excessive and redundant after a certain point.

I feel like I’m giving this an unfair rating but here me out.
I thought I was going to do permanent damage to my eyes with the amount of times I rolled them. This had such potential. The story itself wasn’t bad but I just felt the FMC was a literal joke. Constantly soaked from the first chapter. Baring in mind this is a stalker. The comparison to HA is there and I can see that the stalker side of things is accurate but if you hated Addie in HA then you will detest Ava. Anyway it ends on a huge cliffhanger and the only reason I went on to book 2 was to actually see what happened and well now I know I don’t think I’ll continue. If you love stalker books and heavy smut and an insufferable FMC pick this one up.

This book!!! For all of you who loved Haunting Adeline and want a story where the main character also has to solve a case—this is the book for you. It truly has everything! Just when you think you know who Ava is searching for, the story takes a turn. You’re on edge the entire time, and it’s impossible to put the book down! I’m already longing for book two, and I’m so grateful to have been chosen to read this one. I’ve found a new favorite series!

Let me preface by saying this .. as a psychological thriller fan - this topped my expectations! I haven't read psychological thrillers in over 2 years, and they never had spice - this was exceptional!
Ava has a stalker, and when I say she has a stalker - she HAS a stalker. It's not 2 or 3 chapters, then all is revealed 😆 and I was living for it!
Sorry, I digress - Ava is a studying journalist in Ireland. One of her best friends goes missing, said to have runaway, but Ava won't accept this. There's more to it - there has to be, right? But her stalker is hot on her heels .. she should be scared of him! She should be running in the opposite direction, so why can't she stop thinking about him? Why does she relent to him when he steps out of the shadows?
FYI, you won't find a weak FMC here 😆 nothing will stand in her way to seek the answers she's determined to get, no matter what her stalker does or says to stop her.
Sienna set the story well, with vivid description, but not exaggerated.
Theo and Madi delivered an outstanding narration for this book. Madi, being the primary narrator as the book is predominantly ava's pov, will have u captivated with passionate and emotional DIALOGUE. I really felt what ava was feeling throughout this book.
Theos performance is intense and mysterious and truly fitting to the mmc.
Both narrators gave a fantastic Irish narration - as someone who can get irritated with accent narration inaccuracies - this was not the case here. They were brilliant.
If you're craving a thrilling story, with suspense, mystery, and twists, this is perfect for your TBR, and I highly recommend it.
True crime fans will absolutely love this - it reads like the perfect psychological drama - holds ur interest, and has u begging for more!

Be sure to pay closeee attention, it can be hard to keep up with it in some spots but I just went back and reread, and immediately fell back on track. The MMC (secrettttt) is amazing 🥵 I’m obsessed with him.
The world building is incredible, you can fully picture everything as you are reading, the character arcs are great.
I really enjoyed it.

I devoured this book. Just when I think I’m on the same page, BAM! Books like this make me think it wouldn’t be so bad to have a stalker. To maybe walk alone down a dark creepy alley. This is coming from a girl who sometimes panics in the shower when my eyes are closed because I think Freddy is about to get me. ( real problems 🥴)

i love how there are hidden connections to the characters and i love how Sienna leaves clues throughout the story which just builds up the tension even more but she loves to keep things conceals as its beecomes a guessing game ...
i love how th eplot just interwined with relationships that just feels intelligent and is very carefully constructed....Soon the uncoovering of dark secrets aswell as the forbidden desires that gives this story that thrilling edge .

Just, WOW.
The way Sienna describes everything, the smell of the room, every single feeling each character has.
From the beginning of this book, it's fast paced & keeps you interested. I have read a lot of stalker-ish books and this one tops the cake.
Ava & I have something in common, we don't notice red flags and when we do we put on our rose colored glasses
Even down to the details on the cover page, its so beautiful.
I have such a hard time sticking to a book, I need it to keep my interest and this one does a great job of it.
There are so many twist & turns in this book & it will keep you coming back for more!
Definitely make sure to read the trigger warnings, make sure you know what you're getting yourself into but trust me its worth it!
I could go on & on about how much I loved this but I think you should just pick it up yourself when its available & get ready to fall in love.

Holy H-E- double 🏒! This book was so much more than I had expected. Sienna out did herself for sure!
Oooooo, help me, Lord, I think I'm in love! Going into this book, I knew it was a dark romance. Well, apparently, the darker, the better. I absolutely fell in love with these characters and everything this story had to give. All of the sick twists and turns. All of the questions. All of the suspense. Ugh, I couldn't get enough. Ava and Scáth fit so perfectly together. Her light and his dark. Both are just trying to help the ones they love.
The continued flashbacks throughout this book were gut-wrenching but so fantastic. To see what was truly happening, how horrible things were, it made me love Ava and Scáth even more.
I love strong women characters, and Sienna didn't disappoint with Ava. She is beyond strong, even stubborn and reckless, but she is unapologetically her. After the life she has lived so far, she is a fighter. And don't even get me started on Scáth. I guess I have a twisted mind, lol, because I fell head-over-heals for that boy right away. The darked the characters, the better the read. He is everything I hoped for and so much more. His possessiveness over Ava made my heart soared. The rage he felt, how he claimed her as his...ugh! My poor heart almost couldn't take it. Sorry, am I drooling here?

I believe this is the first book I've read by Sienna Blake and let me just say it was amazing! If you love dark stalker romances like I do you will love this one. There were a lot of plot twists and turns that you won't see coming. The author had me on the edge of my seat and kept me guessing what would happen next. Ava is on a mission to uncover what happened to her missing friend. And this takes her on an incredible suspenseful journey. The story does and on a cliffhanger, but it is oh so good and I can't wait for the next book.
