On a frigid Christmas Eve morning in Florence, Colorado, Doctor Luc Devilin, a certified mad scientist, with the help of a band of homicidal cartel mercenaries, escaped from his eight-man Bureau of Prisons guard detail while on a routine medical visit to a local hospital. He was being held prisoner on Death Row at the local Supermax Prison for the torture and murders of hundreds of helpless victims.
Now they are killing their way across the frozen landscape of Glacier National Park, Montana under the cover of an unprecedented blizzard. Only one thing can stop them, Jon Smith’s team of CIA Paramilitary Officers. They are training at the ICBM launch facilities at nearby Malmstrom Air Force Base. During his sentencing, Devilin vowed to unleash a deadly plague on America that would murder millions of innocent people. He must be stopped before he escapes into Canada.
The team flies for two hours through ever increasingly difficult conditions before free fall parachuting onto the unforgiving ice of Agassiz Glacier. After releasing their parachutes, they slog on in pursuit of a heavily armed enemy over twice their size.
Their orders are seek out, close with, and kill or capture Devilin and his henchmen. They are all expendable. No excuses. This is a no-fail mission.
This is my first Christian fiction. The story follows a mad scientist, jailed for conducting cruel experiments on innocent people, who has escaped from prison, killing all the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) guards in his path. A team of mercenaries has joined forces with him, determined to aid his escape. The stakes couldn’t be higher—the doctor must be captured or eliminated before he flees the country, or he will unleash a deadly communicable disease.
In the midst of this chaos, a team of Special Deputy United States Marshals is deployed to neutralize the threat. Each marshal knows they are expendable in this high-risk mission. But amid the turmoil, Christmas holds a special surprise for one of them—John Smith.
With a deranged scientist, a high-stakes prison break, a snowstorm blanketing Christmas night, and a dangerous mission under way, this story has it all. And, like always, there’s a special Christmas gift—courtesy of Santa Claus.

Anther petty good short action story. Kind of had me wondering when the author tossed in Saint Michael as a character, not to mention the devil. I thought it was a straight forward action military thriller, the introduction of religion into the story seemed out of place. Okay maybe tying the angels into the Christmas time aspect of the story fit the plot. I have read one full length Jon Smith thriller and two short stories. I will take on the other two full length books soon.
Another tier one hit from Mr. Asher. The mission story was solid as always. What I enjoyed most were the revelations with Mike and the big show down was of Biblical proportions.
I enjoyed this short story so much more than I expected I would. The plot and characters were well written and believable. Highly recommend for year round reading.
