Doting Billionaire's Precious Bride

Rate this book
A single glance from her, and he seizes the chance he’s waited ten years for—now she belongs to him.

“I run an empire. I’ll never marry a hothead like her who snaps at everything.”

Kara overhears Asher Flynn, her long-time crush, mocking her on her birthday.

Heartbreak leads her to one reckless night with Damion Cage—a billionaire and her old schoolmate, hailed as the ‘Holy Deity’ for his untouchable reputation.

“My company’s going public in three months. I can’t afford a scandal. Let’s get married.”

Within just 24 hours, Kara becomes ‘Mrs. Cage’!

It’s a deal—three months of marriage and then freedom. Or so Kara thinks.

Damion, obsessively in love with her for a decade, has no plans of letting her go. Behind his calm exterior, his truth burns—‘I’m not a ‘holy deity,’ Kara. My thoughts for you are far from pure. I’m selfish, trapping you. But you’re my deity, and now that you’re mine, I’ll worship you with everything I have.’

Asher Flynn rages with regret, desperate to undo the moment he lost Kara forever.

But Kara is no longer his to claim.

Damion’s mission is to ensure Asher knows, without a doubt, that Kara belongs to him. And if Asher dares challenge that… Damion will destroy him.

desperate need of an editor or something

I really enjoyed the story line but the actual writing is a train wreck! So many typos, repeated sentences and even reworded but identical meaning paragraphs back to back. Either the author uploaded the wrong editing file, they’re not an English speaker, or they used AI or something similar to write this book. It should be about 50 pages shorter by my best guess if all the duplicate stuff was removed.

Wow! What did I just read? It seemed more like a rough draft, with all the errors. A lot of repetition. Sometimes, paragraphs would have similar first lines. Asher was psychotic, but you never know what happens to him? Lena felt like a character just thrown in to extend the plot. Even Kara was odd. Practically a borderline alcoholic, which is not good for a doctor. At the end the book mentions that Saloon makes an announcement at the party, but we are.never.told what it was. You don't even know why he is throwing the party. Ugh. A bit of a train wreck.

Not worth it

Childish writing, repeating the same descriptions just a few lines later. Jumps around so much, half the story is missing after giving a hint so you never find out what it was supposed to mean.

Amateurish and Repetitive

This story has great potential, but it is childish and clumsy in its telling. It also repeats half-paragraphs. Maybe it just needs a stricter editor.

MY bod this was bad!!!
Not only was the editing and the whole plot, extremely ridiculous , the writing was so bad it felt like you were watching a horrible teenager movie from 1970s that was done by a few teenagers in their basement with no supervision and lots of drugs!!! 🤣😂😂😂😂

Couldn’t finish it. As other reviewers stated, many typos and repeated lines. Did not build the characters either. They were very childish and superficial. It almost seemed like you were reading the thoughts of 12 year olds instead of a Doctor and Businessman. The storyline is there but needs a lot of polishing before I could finish the book.

This was horrible 😢

This book reads like one of those pay per chapter stories. It was horrible like someone who is not an English speaking person wrote this. I don't understand how this book has such good reviews.

DNF due to the fact the writing was just so poorly done. Doubled paragraphs or in the wrong order left you trying to figure out what was going on.
*The author has a note on this book that it is written in 3rd person and done by an author from Asia (I think). So perhaps that is the reason for the stunted writing to a US reader like myself, but there is just no excuse for the poor editing.
Pro: some the author at least tried- the storyline had great potential to be interesting.
Overall: the writing was so poorly done that it is a hard pass for me.

Damion and Kara's story was a good one! Steamy, low angst and drama and some humor (for me anyway).

Kara has been in "love" with Asher since high school. Asher has ignored any and all attempts Kara has made for him to notice her, like her or even thank her for 10 whole years. Until she calls him on her birthday wondering when he will be coming to meet her and instead of ending the call like he thought he did, she's listening to him talk down about her to his friends after she tells him to show or she'll marry someone else. She is a strong shy person, just not around Asher. She doesn't read like she is a 25/26 year old doctor.

Damion has been in love with Kara since high school. He's quietly and patiently been waiting for her to be over Asher so she's available to come to him. He's also been secretly protecting her and helping her for the last 10 years. He was there for Asher's phone call and heard everything and sees this as his one opportunity to get Kara.

After hearing her say she'll marry someone else if he doesn't show and then hearing Asher say what he did, not believing she heard him, Damion rushes to her location and takes her away. After their one night together (both claiming to have taken each others vcards), he asks her to marry him for just 3 months while he takes his company public and then they can divorce, leaving her with half of everything he has. They marry the next day and he intends for it to be forever because he'll get her to fall in love with him.

Damion is the best to her in every way (seriously the best BBF I've read to date). He is 100% completely devoted to everything Kara. In the meantime Asher is dealing with the reality of no more devoted Kara. She's shy with him and it takes a little bit of time for them to get comfy with each other. Every person that has done anything wrong to Kara in the last 10 years pays their "debt" for what they did, and it's "good stuff". And slowly Damion shows Kara how possessive and obsessive he really is for her.

This book was actually better than the first 2 books for me. It still has the repeated paragraphs and typos (really needs better editing because this all should have been caught) but by book 3, I felt like I was used to it. And the spice is not what you'd think for newbies it went from barely there to they are pro D/s as soon as they passed the first time so, there is that too. I like that the characters from the previous books show up and they are all becoming a good close friend circle as well.

Well, here I am after giving it 4 months since I read the previous book. Honestly, it felt longer than that, and I wish it had been. I had given up on this author and series, yet for whatever reason, I decided to try one more. I did finish the book, but I most certainly will not read any more.
This book can be summed up with one question: What in the actual middle-school hell did I just read?

There was no way this had an actual exitor. There were so many problems:
Repeated paragraph, only 8 pages in.
Repeated sentences, a page apart.
Constant changing of focus without any indication or page break. The whiplash is real.

The word Crush is such a juvenile word. But if you consider that the entire book has the depth and dialog as if it were written by a juvenile, it makes more sense. The characters had no depth, and the juvenile dialog and writing style makes it really hard to take seriously.

As I mentioned in a previous book review, it really does feel like this wasn't originally written in English. While this is normally fine, it needs to either embrace it and keep locations original, or revamp the whole book to ensure everything works culturally. This did neither, and it doesn't work. None of them do.

I still do not recommend these books to others, and I am dropping the series again.

This story is the third in the series. The story is good and maybe a little out there with Kara loving Asher for ten whole years without him giving her a shred of hope back. But that brings us to the hero of the story, Damion. He is a billionaire who has been in love with Kara since high school. When Kara finally gives up on Asher, Damion makes his move and picks up the pieces. He's been in love with her for ten years and he is finally taking his chance. What starts out as a marriage of convenience for Kara, was always real in Damion's mind. He never had any intention of letting her go. I liked that Kara finally found her backbone and stopped giving Asher all the attention he never deserved. But it was kind of glorious that right when Kara ended her obsession with him was when he realized how much he screwed up and lost his chance with the most beautiful intelligent woman that had ever been in his life. I also love a jealous possessive hero and Damion was definitely that. A very successful businessman, you might say he's a calm sheep in the boardroom and a lion in the sack. Even with his inexperience in the bedroom before Kara, he certainly learned quickly! I enjoyed this story very much and can't wait for the next book.

I really like this story for Kara and Damion. It is totally different then the other high angst stories where the male lead treats the female lead terribly and then makes up for it. This time we get to see a male lead who has loved the female lead from afar for 10 years because she thinks she is in love with someone who tolerates her presence but returns nothing in return.

So, the angst in the story is more from learning of the disrespect Kara has suffered for her devotion to Asher from him, their friends, her family and colleagues. She also has a terrible family history we learn about as well. The books opens with a major change in her life when Damion finally has a chance to win his queen and I say queen because he lavishes love, affection and attention on her as she deserved. Needless to say Kara is confused and doesn't realize hat Damion really loves her and wants their pretend marriage to turn into a real one once she returns his feelings.

Get comfortable and enjoy the read where Kara's abusers get their just desserts while she gains the love of Damion, his family and friends.

Kara and Damion

I read to escape and this book is the perfect escapism romance fiction. It’s like a contemporary Bridgerton or a modern version of a regency romance. I actually enjoyed this book. The plot, the characters, writing are all different from what I’ve been reading lately and it was a nice change.
The plot has the kind of full on obsessive love and romance that we’d like to have. Billionaires who fall in love and are forever faithful. Extended family who love and care for you. Karma and revenge that happen at the perfect time. There are two guys fighting for the love of one woman but really, you know that only one of them has a chance. The other one is just there for a little conflict.
The two main characters are careful of their growing feelings for each other, and the steamy scenes that start out as little more than kissing, reflect that. But as their feelings grow, so do their physical connection and some light kink is revealed.
No 3rd act breakup (yay!). These two are together right from the beginning. It’s 3rd person POV. You need to suspend some of your beliefs and assumptions about how characters could and should act or react.

The premise of h loving OM is same here as it was in the last book. The difference is that the om is alive here and could easily have been the MMC. MMC in the next books in the series were similar - aloof and ignorant of the FMC till she walks out on them. The only difference is that here the FMC didn’t go back to the ex ignorant boy whereas in other books she did. I wish the story didn’t focus this much on Om’s story and how devastated he was because then it makes you want to root for him 🤷🏻‍♀️

The MMC here ofcourse was 👌🏻👌🏻 His devotion was so good I wished he could have stolen her 10 years back so FMC didn’t waste so many years on om and instead became obsessed with MMC.

I would have definitely liked it if the FMC was not crazy obsessed w om for 10 years but it did help that she barely thought about him after the first 5 % of the book.

For a non safe book ( because of h loving om) I still enjoyed it a lot

Tbh if you go through the upcoming books in this series they all sound the same. The author is basically writing different versions of similar
stories but I don’t care because I enjoy it! I do hope the next two books don’t have op drama involving feelings of love.

I really wanted to love the book because Damion and Kara were so cute together, but there was basically no story if I’m being honest, if you thought Jane and Raiden were crazy and toxic well Damion and Kara were complete cute yet boring opposite. There were no real obstacles for them to overcome so the whole book is them basically fawning over each other and wondering if the other is falling in love with them. I did enjoy watching Asher fall apart over losing Kara but even that situation was fixed quickly and don’t get me started on Kara’s father storyline, I still don’t get it. I did love Damion and Kara together don’t get me wrong, it just started perfect and continued that way, with no issues for them to overcome, and I’m not even counting that delusional high school reunion bully situation because why would Kara even allow it to go that far considering she’s known as a hot head.

I did enjoy seeing Jane and Raiden again and how they are doing; also Damion and Raiden are cousins, but they like to call each other brother.

I just feel like this book lacked a real story line, but it had the romance. It also had way too many errors for me and that’s saying a lot because I don’t usually focus on errors. However, you could tell this book did have an editor or was reviewed because repetitive lines or lines that the said the thing in different ways and names were constantly switched which made parts of book confusing.

After lingering and begging for the man she loves to return her feelings, an unrequited love of 10 long years, her single-minded loyalty to him, accepting crumbs from him, chasing after him, sacrificing for him, she overhears him tell his friends in a bar that she wasn't good enough for him. Kara Hart immediately swears to him that she will marry somebody else and, finally, she mentally walks away, abandoning him to her past. She is done. She’ll not waste another moment on him.

Overhearing the telephone conversation in the same bar, Damion Cage makes his move. He has adored Kara from afar during those same 10 years and he was not waiting another second. This was his chance. He picked her up that night, on her birthday, after she was stood up by the man she adored, and Damion carried her home where he initiated a steamy relationship with her. The next morning he asked her to marry him. On the spur of the minute she accepted. What follows is a brilliant love story. So far, this is my favorite book in this series. And the first two were pretty remarkable. I am loving this author

Unbelievable

I finished it, but I'm not sure if I liked it.
First, the editing was not very good and a little confusing. Characters said the wring name often. There is a character named Jane, she is married to Damian's cousin. But at one point another character asks the "villain" of the story if he had heard from Jane. Why would Jane be calling him? Is there another Jane, is he having an affair with Jane or did the author really mean to put Kara's name there? Slot of repeating paragraphs.
It is an okay story, but Damian is a little over the top and Kara was a little pathetic. I'm not really sure if either was likeable. But I definitely liked them better than Asher or Kara's father, Garrett. They were both jerks. Asher bordered on crazy.
Anyway, if you decide to read it, goid luck. You might like it. Its basically a rich guy saving a damsel in distress, who he has been in love with secretly for 10 years, while she was in love with someone who didn't give her any interest at all.

Damion & Kara’s Story

I don’t know where to start with this one. I was super excited to read it because who doesn’t enjoy a love story where the MMC has been in love with the FMC for 10 years, is super handsome, and wealthy beyond compare.

I did like Damion for most of the book, I think he got a little over the top towards the end with some serious red flags awavin’, but he loved his girl and proved it over and over.

Kara’s behavior was way too innocent through most of the book where she can’t even touch her HUSBAND without blushing, then…BAM she’s buying a “toy box”? I don’t know that seemed odd to me.

Overall the story was a little confusing and kind of all over the place. It read a lot like soap opera or a story on some of the apps that try to charge you out the wazoo for stories that are just meh but you watch ads to read them anyway because for some crazy reason you can’t look away. It wasn’t really for me but others seemed to like it so maybe you will too. Good luck.

Definitely my favorite out of this series so far. Kara is obsessively in love with Asher. She does everything he wants and loves him regardless of what he says or does to her. He on the other hand, doesn't feel the same. He insults her, treats her pretty crappy, and in general doesn't seem to care or have any feelings for her. Then, she encounters Damian. I don't know what I need to do in life to find a Damian, but if a man could be perfection, he's it. He convinces Kara to marry him, but he has a hidden agenda. He has been in love with Kara since high school and wanted to make her his from the beginning but couldn't because of her love for Asher. What Kara didn't expect was to develop the feelings that she did for Damian. But I mean... how could you not. This story was great. Everyone got exactly what they deserved in the end. I recommend this give this a read. It was easy to follow and the plot was pretty enjoyable.

First, let me just say that with each book I have already read in this series they just keep getting better and better. I liked how the Author was able to change the Female lead character’s personality to a much stronger person. And that her personality matched the male lead character. From the beginning these two were made for one another. And their relationship was developed throughout the whole book. There was plenty of steamy scenes and a great plot. This story was a definite page turner that I could not put down towards the middle to the end I just had to find out what was going to happen next. I would recommend this book to fans of the Author and to those that enjoy billionaire romances with plenty of steamy scenes and of course a HEA. I can’t wait for the next book, which isn’t very long to wait and that’s awesome that the Author is able to produce them so quickly behind each other. I was gifted a copy of the book but I am voluntarily leaving my own opinion in this review.

(added after initial review) this book is written by AI, you can find similar stories on youtube written by story channels who push out stories like this 24/7.

i liked it at the start but there are a lot of grammatical errors and i genuinely believe the spicy scenes shouldn't have been added. he is apparently 30 while she should also be in that age range meanwhile she's acting like a 16 year old...? his private area is referred as a rod. "he thrusted his rod", we are trolling???? mid spicy scene he calls her honey. she says she's going to come and he says yes honey. the constant "trying to escape" because she's shy and embarrassed. you are pushing 30 girl... you weren't shy and embarrassed when you threw yourself at the same guy for 10 years like what? also i'm on page 217 and honestly she is so boring? she's a doctor cool, we rarely get any intel on that. he had to go to work for a meeting but he's back not even like a minute later? this book is a mess!

My favorite so far

I really enjoyed the story between Kara and Damion. Their love story was absolutely beautiful and sweet.

Kara finding acceptance and her place among the Cages was sweet and really helps the reader believe that she could go from loving one man on day and falling for a different man the very next day.

Damion's quite devotion and patience helped move the story in the right direction. Of all the men in this series he is by far my favorite.

The drama with Lana was a bit over done, not really into the revenge on the bully stuff myself but the drama with the father and Asher was pretty good though Asher turned out to be really pathetic in the end.

The book does need a good editor. There was a few paragraphs that were duplicated and the Cage family tree was a bit confusing but in all its a good story.

Not my cuppa!

So I purchased this book due to a FB reel, scene looked good. I was intrigued, thought it was going to be good. I mean it had promise, but oh how I just couldn't get over the writing. Made myself finish it, like MADE myself finished it, cause I paid for it. But, why, why did the author use the characters full name throughout the dang book. We knew their names. The onky characters last name that was basically never said was the best friend. Even used the heros family full names. The writing was all over the place, jumping from one set of characters to the next, it wasn't hard to follow, it was just annoying. Not going to be getting any other book in this series of standalones.

This was a difficult book to rate because it almost felt like it was flipping centuries in the storyline. They refer to each other as Mr. And Ms as if it’s a turn of a century novel. It’s almost as if the author wrote this as a historical romance and then went back and tried to make it a modern day, romance, but it didn’t really catch on like that. Then suddenly towards the end of the book they’re throwing in BDSM and I really wasn’t sure where that came from so it was just a difficult book to rate for me. I ended up giving it a three star, but it was more a 2.5 and it really could’ve used a good editor.

Unsure

Edits needed. There are a lot of people interacting in this story. When I read, I see a movie of what I'm reading in my head. When characters' names are mixed up in the story, my reading and movie splutter to a stop because I have to figure out who the book is really talking about. It makes it hard to enjoy. Also, I know the author was trying to tie people together from previous and future books, but to many characters made for messy reading. I liked the overall storyline (even though it felt a bit bloated).

I don't know what this is other than a hot mess. Fastest DNF I've ever done I think, at 7% in. Repeated paragraphs already; abrupt transitions. Who are these strange people? He calls her 'Ms. Flynn' after he takes advantage of her drunkenness to sleep with her. Then asks if she's a scumbag. She offers him money. So he says he can't afford a scandal right now (what scandal?) so she has to marry him.
