Hi, I'm M.M. Crumley Your Author Extraordinaire (Also Known as M.M. Boulder)

As M.M. Crumley I write Urban Fantasy books full of supernatural action, nail-biting-mystery and; laugh-out-loud humor. Why? Because stories, myths, and legends have always been a huge part of my life... As a child, I liked nothing better than to lose myself in a world where magic and heroes were part of the fabric of existence.

As my pen name M.M. Boulder I write psychological thrillers and murder mysteries that bring the darker impulses we may not feel completely comfortable with into the light. My stories are full of lies and deaths, but there is always justice. A type of justice that's not afraid to get its hands dirty. I write morally ambiguous characters who are pushed to their limits and take matters into their own hands. In my world getting away with murder has never been so much fun!

No matter what I write every one of my characters are real to me. They exist. They are three-dimensional beings who demand that their stories be told. If I were to turn away from them, they would haunt me; and so I don't. Instead I chase after them and write down everything they say!

First Time I’ve Cried

First, let me say I am a voracious reader. Getting lost in a story is my favorite activity. I’ve read every Crumley book as of June 2025, and enjoyed all of them. I am also a history buff. I know the story of the “settling” of the West and have read countless versions fm different perspectives: pioneer women, white men, Native American men. I know the difference between reality vs fantasy in the books. But, this is the first time I have felt on a visceral level the enormity of the loss - for everyone. I am not ashamed to say I cried.
I will never look at butterflies the same way. Definitely my favorite of the series, even though the grief nearly did me in.
This story is Janey’s coming of age. It is the turning point for her. You will not be disappointed.

Janey is an amazing, complex character and has a strong moral code all of her own. When she allows herself to love someone she loves fiercely and would give her life for her found family of Two Stones, Brings the Rain and Wolf Heart. Just how many challenges and how much pain she has endured is brought home in this book, not only to the reader, but to Janey herself. She learns a great deal about herself and, with that, comes to understand herself better. Janey is still determined to find Admetos, to destroy him and all of The Saints, and fulfil her vow to Roaring Waters, but she needs to follow her journey of self discovery first.

This book will grab hold of your emotions and put them through the wringer, while also having the capacity to make you laugh. Janey is a character that you will never forget and I cannot wait to read the next chapter of her story.

Not many books can make me cry, this one did! So glad that book 4 has already been written as I don't think I could wait to finish this story!
