This book started out pretty good. I enjoyed the vocabulary and the big words. I enjoyed the writing style at first, right off hand. I found it to be a very interesting viewpoint. The creature talking to us describes himself as an amphibious creature. Yet, he went onto describe himself like an octopus. There were times when I was reading it that I thought about the Jetsons. The point of view is coming from a creature on his way to earth. Aliens just whizzing in and out of asteroids and such. Way too complicated for the human!

I felt like the history being given could have been accurate. It's written in a way that is its believable if it is not true. I can hear Sheldon's voice from the Big Bang Theory talking to me. I would say at the beginning of the book it does come off exactly as intended. It sounds like an alien's journal on his journey back to earth.

There were SEVERAL parts that I had to reread to try to understand. There were times I was questioning what I was reading exactly. The beginning of the book also reminded me of my astrology book I had to read for my class in college.

By page 51 I had really decided this book wasn't the one for me however, I wanted to finish it so I could give a full review. This book was not what I expected it to be at all. It would have been a little more interesting if there were dated entries. Towards the end of the journal, it started to sound very political. Comes off very pushy.

Through all of it though there was something I DID LEARN, and it meant something to me. I learned that Quagmire isn't just a name of a character in my favorite TV show. that I watch nightly. It is an actual word with an actual meaning! WHO KNEW!!!!!

I rated it a two because it seemed more like a ramble. I think that someone who has read the Bible may understand the book better. I would say someone with a science degree of some sort (and not just one astrology class in college) would enjoy this book. There were good parts it just wasn't a book for me like I thought that it would be.

I received this book as a Goodreads giveaway. It started with a fair amount of backstory, which is ok but felt excessive for such a short novel. By page 25 I was getting ready to quit but decided to soldier on since I got it for free. Still no real activity by page 40, roughly 1/4 of the way through the book, despite some lead up several pages earlier. The premise of the book seems interesting enough, but the delivery just didn’t do it for me.
