If you take one of our own, we'll bring Hell to your doorstep.
It's the Fourth of July in small town Appalachia, and there's no more popular place to be than the Lindals' veteran-owned Full Moon Brewery. Of course, most people in town don't know that the Lindal family are werewolves, or that for the right price they can be hired mercenaries, but that's beside the point-- they make damn good beer.
The summer sun is shining and everything is going smoothly until Patience, the sister of the town's missing preacher, shows up asking for Rhodes Lindal, a man she shouldn't know at all. She warns that her husband has something awful planned, and when Wrath Lindal's mate, Kennedy, doesn't make it home from her shift at work, they realize the
One of their own has been taken. And they have to do everything they can to get her back.
What follows is a night of hunting and survival. Kennedy must use her wits and strength to outsmart and overcome her kidnappers, or she risks losing her life and the well-kept secrets of her family. Wrath and his brothers fight to exhaust every resource to save his mate. Patience chooses a side between the life she was raised with and the chaos she craves. Rhodes comes face to face with the conflict of loving something that can be lost, while reckoning with the fact that matehood might not be a choice at all.
The clock ticks will they save Kennedy, or will another tragedy befall the Lindal family?
☠️ The Wretched Love Series 🐺 Book Two: 𝔸𝕝𝕝 𝕋𝕙𝕠𝕤𝕖 𝔻𝔼𝔸𝔻 𝕄𝕖𝕟 by @shilohsloane
The second episode is out, folks!!!! This has been such a ride so far. The book starts off introducing Kennedy and Wrath's story, with all the characters so entwined I love it! Their paths could have gone so differently.
My heart is already racing, and I am so nervous about what's to come. The story is a stressful 24 hours of events, and I don't know if I'll be able to handle it! The torture scene was intense. I crumbled for her, so heartbreaking.
We need to talk about that phone call with Rhodes Lindal....😱....I am so scared of the repercussions! I do not trust a certain someone! 💯 he's in on it! Don't make a deal with that devil!!! 🫣
This was such an intense episode of The Wretched Love series. If you are looking for HBO style, fast pace, and sexy as hell scenes, this is the series for you!
This is gonna be a crappily written and short review, because I've just been brutalized by this here damn novella. There is just so much depth, so much emotional shit, character stuff and layers and... I'm rambling. I can't explain how much I love the Lindal extended universe. The characters are amazing, the complicated test-of-willpower romance is awesome, the spice is to die for, the brutality is next level - and all this in a 181 page novella that covers like 24 hours! Fucking brava, 5 big ones.
Holy Wolf-Moly! What an incredible and intense read! This book was fast-paced, thrilling, and kept me on edge the entire time. It checked all the boxes for me, everything I could want, all in a single novella! Shiloh grips you from start to finish. 🩸🐺
Kennedy and Wrath oh my! I became so emotionally attached to these characters, and my heart aches for everything they’ve been through. Kennedy is an absolute badass...smart, brave, and fierce. She’s definitely making my list of top-tier female leads. Wrath is doing everything he can for the love of his life! It's actually so beautifully dark!! I also loved seeing more of Rhodes and Patience, they have incredible chemistry. I still can’t figure out how she manages to pack so much plot into a novella, but it’s amazing! I’m thoroughly enjoying it and can’t wait to dive into The Lindals Series.
I’m completely obsessed with Shiloh Sloan—her writing and the unforgettable characters she brings to life. This book is everything! Her writing is so unique and breathtaking, and the characters she creates feel alive, living in your heart and mind long after the last page.
I didn’t realize how much I needed Wrath and Kennedy’s love story until I read this novella. From their swoon-worthy first encounter to years later, their love and devotion remained as powerful as the day they met. Fated to be together, Wrath would go to any lengths for Kennedy—and Kennedy, a total badass, is his perfect match.
📒 “Not once did I sit in that chair and say I can’t believe Wrath isn’t here to protect me. Not once. I saved myself.”
The violence and tragedy that unfold are utterly gut-wrenching, leaving me in awe of Kennedy’s strength and perseverance. Her unwavering resolve and refusal to cower are nothing short of remarkable. Please be sure to check the trigger warnings and proceed with caution if needed. Wrath and Kennedy’s story is far from over, and I’ll be waiting with bated breath for the next installment in this series.
We also got more of Patience and Rhode’s complicated love story, and I savored every moment. What is it with these Lindal men? I’m obsessed! Patience and Rhode share another fated mate bond, complete with a forbidden element and a bit of an age gap—all the good stuff. And things are just starting to heat up. I can’t get enough of these smoldering Lycanthropes!
📒 “This is a luxury. Touching her, holding her, is a luxury. It’s Heaven diluted. If he ever loves her all the way, he’ll lose himself to her.”
Such a satisfying CLIFF HANGER! surprisingly not an annoying stopping point, i’m eager to see how this plays out for them and what happens! Miss Sloane, the novellas are cute but I am going to need a full length like there’s a lot of things we need to cover!!! Do we get more vampire crossover, where is Paige and Silas? Where are these other crime families? What’s going to happen with this video and the rest of this ordeal! I need to understand what’s going on with Clay and why he’s got a crush on Kennedy. What’s going to happen to Patience because Paige had that whole prophecy, so yeah we’re gonna need 300-500 pages friend and/or a couple more books please and thank you.
And I just love that these are the grandkids and great grandkids of Ridge and Sadie. EEK!

INFINITY STARS. I laughed. I cried. I screamed. I sobbed. Then I got to the end and flipped back and forth about 7 times, in absolute denial that it's over (for now).
I could go on for ever about this book, but I truly think it's best to go in blind (after reading The Vampire Hunter of Appalachia). ***tw
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you, Shiloh, for writing the hard stuff. Although it was absolutely gut-wrenching, it was done beautifully. ***
***this book is rough. It's deep, it's dark, and absolutely brutal, but there are TW included in the beginning if you would like to review them.
You have such a raw, grittiness to your writing and it captures some of the deepest parts of the human experience. I didn’t realize these are the grandchildren of Sadie and Ridge but love it even more for that! Patience has been on quite the journey and yet it seems like it’s only just started! Can’t wait for the next book!
My obsession continues!! This series is gritty and intense and I am devouring every morsel! Once again I am in awe with how this author manages to pack so much into these novellas, or “episodes” as she describes them.
While I could eat, sleep, and breathe Rhodes Lindal, I really do love all of these characters. There is nothing even remotely patient about how I’m waiting for the next book to release! I’m literally salivating for more!
There’s action, thrill, lots of spice, tension, fate, and incredible characters (shoutout to Kennedy, what a badass she is wow). Amazing writing! You’re transported right there, it’s such a gift to set the tone of the story and the surroundings so well! Perfection! *chefskiss
