Testing Tristan
When a wildfire grew out of control and I was caught on a remote county road going up in flames, I never expected to be rescued on horseback by a man whose face I couldn’t even see. He blazed into my life like a masked romance novel hero, scooping me up and riding me to safety. Unexpectedly cut off from town in a remote lakeside cabin with Tripp, the outside world was the last thing on my mind.

Accosting Annie
Three weeks into balancing my new jobs with the Sage Springs volunteer fire department and as manager at a local horse ranch, an unexpected wildfire threw me into a rescue mission I never saw coming. One stolen weekend with Rhey would never be enough, but I couldn’t stay away, no matter the consequences. But when our past connections threatened to pull us apart, it wasn’t so easy to separate the smoke from the fire.

Masked Men of Sage Springs Book 3

Smokin' Situation is a spicy Fourth of July themed interconnected stand-alone novel with a scarred, reclusive, cowboy cinnamon roll and his little brother's sarcastic ex-hookup. (Annie & Tristan)

Find the funny in your life.

That’s what EL Koslo strives to do in her life every day. She spent her youth with her nose in a book, often conjuring up storylines in a composition notebook she hid under her mattress. Her love of writing continued on through high school as she served on the school paper and wrote poetry for the literary magazine.

At University, she studied Art and Art History where she met her own prince charming after kissing a few frogs, of course.

Her love of reading and writing have been a constant in her life with her nose always buried in a book, tablet, or computer—both writing and reading.

She resides in the Midwest United States with her husband and four rambunctious children. Her days are filled with driving kids to school, activities, and sports; frequently squeezing writing time in while waiting in the carpool line.

Koslo’s characters are often developed while running on the treadmill at the gym, and she has a DVR full of Hallmark movies.

Her debut novel, Foreplay on Words, combines her love of steamy romance, awkward but loveable leading males, and headstrong heroines with a dash of humor and a little bit of kink.

I'll be honest, I wasn't entirely sure I wanted to pick this book up at all because it didn't follow anybody I recognized. Typically these standalone interconnected books will have a friend group or sibling unit that's followed throughout the series.

The first 2 books follow a brother/sister set of siblings finding love in their siblings' BFF. Those 2 books made sense to me.

I had no idea who Annie and Tristan were and wasn't sure I cared.

The summary was intriguing enough, though, that i decided to give this a whirl.

And eh.

Book one was short and dirty, but fun. I had no expectations and I wasn't disappointed by what was there.

Book 2 raised those expectations - the book's a little longer, the relationship was sexy, but it took it's time getting to the really good stuff. There was a little more emotional depth involved.

This one. It genuinely felt like this was a spinoff from another series (I'd noticed in book 2 that perhaps we're not dealing with an entirely new world here. We did meet extended family members that felt like they'd been written about before). Tripp (Tristan)'s history is glossed over, explained like I should already know all about it.

The relationship is just. Messy. Yes, there's a ton of sex which is consistent with the first 2 books, but there's also a significant lack of talking and these two people didn't know each other AT ALL the way the couples in books 1 and 2 did. The insta-everything was forgivable in books 1 and 2 because the pair getting down and dirty were already well acquainted with one another.

These two JUST MET. And then they're pledging themselves to one another and they don't even know each other's last names??????

And it's also weird that Annie's been involved with a member of his family??? And she is, sort of, STILL involved in this situationship while she's with the MMC???? Granted, she and Jay (the situationship) aren't exclusive. But still. Yucky territory.

It doesn't help Tristan is Tripp to Annie, and Tristan to others. Why? Why be called one thing by one group of people but go by different names with each other? Why was this aspect of the story necessary?

And like - all of this is happening...but we're in a SMALL TOWN. How is all of this confusion and mistaken identity stuff even possible?

The ending was dumb too. At the end, when the situationship confronts the pair - now mind, they've already made declarations to one another - instead of sitting down and talking through everything like grown up adults who fuck every chance they get, they run away from one another and mope about it for a handful of chapters.

Gross.

And I don't know why the man (Tristan/Tripp) had to be the one to grovel and grand gesture. He didn't do anything wrong. I don't really think EITHER of them did anything that deserved a grand gesture to be honest. She didn't cheat on Jay. They weren't exclusive. Tristan didn't do a single thing to anybody. So why is there drama????

Oh. Right. Because the only other thing this book DOES is sex.

Meh. I dunno. This one just didn't land for me at all.

I really loved this, I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between the characters was so good, and I was completely hooked on how fast and hard they fell for each other. I also appreciated that there wasn’t any unnecessary miscommunication drama, and the spice level was just right. Now I seriously need a book four with Reese and Baker!

I got to read this book via audio and I'll start by saying that the narrators are amazing. Theodore Zephyr and Madison Mitts are always a hit for me - the different voices they do are always spot on and really immerse me into the book.

Annie(Rae) and Tristan (Tripp) were thrown together by unfortunate circumstances and decided to run with it. Their relationship is the very definition of instalove. We get a good understanding of what Tristan/Tripp has gone through to bring him to the town he grew up in, but I feel like everything else was a bit superficial. There's a lot of spice here which is consistent with the other books in the series, but I would've liked a little more interaction and talking. I know they were super busy keeping up their jobs, but like, no last names? Pledging yourselves to each other and we can't figure out that perhaps she's been involved with more than one person in his family? That one question kept my mind wandering. The entire town knows who he is. The friends know who he is.
You notice that they both have two names - that's where some confusion comes in, but given that she was staying with him after her cabin burned, maybe there should've been a little more getting to know you conversations. And honestly, there was a trail of breadcrumbs a mile thick that should've tipped her off. It was a little frustrating.

I received the audiobook from Luna Literary Management for free and my review is voluntary.

I loved this story. Tripp and Rhey are great characters with such intense backstories. I enjoy how they work through everything together. Koslo just weaves the story so it flows so well and keeps you sucked in the whole way through.

I want to know what was in the safe though 🧐

Another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ book in the Masked Men of Sage Springs series

If you have any doubts on whether you should read this book, ask yourself this:
Who doesn't want to get finger banged in a remote cabin, after barely escaping death!?
Oh, and it's your knight in shining armor firefighter gear, who carried you to safety on horseback!

But, no, seriously,... This book had a bit of a slow start story-wise, which made me initially doubt whether it would meet the absolute gems that the first two books were. And boooooooy, I have never been more eager to eat my own words! Was this book different than the previous two? Yes. Did it make it any less amazing? Hell. To. The. F*ck. No.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the story by E.L. Koslo
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 for the performances by Theodore Zephyr and Madison Mitts🎙️

My favorite quotes:
[...]"She'd eat you alive. The Thomas sisters are not for the faint at heart," he replied [...] "She can eat whatever she wants," I muttered, suddenly cursing my brain-to-mouth filter.

What I loved:
🔥the NSFW dedication "This book is dedicated to all the people pleasing girlies who want to order a hunky, brooding firefighter-cowboy to his knees and tell him to get to work."
⚗️the chemistry between the narrators
🧯I learned so much about fire prevention, what to do in case trapped in a wildfire,... which gave me both a sense of accompishment, but also added to my anxiety whilst reading the book!
🫠all the swoon-worthy situations: him carrying her at the summer festival after her heat-stroke, him rescuing her during the wildfire,...
🌶️the spice (duh!)

What I struggled with:
🤷‍♀️his PTSD was believable and realistically portrayed, but I was not feeling her grief or abandonment issues

What I wish for:
🤞a book 4, covering Baker and Reese's story!

What you need to know:
📚interconnected standalone, part of the Masked Men of Sage Springs series
🫂dual POV, 1st personen
🎙️duet narration
🏘️small-town romance
💞strangers-to-lovers
😳friends-with-benefits' brother

Summary:
“Smokin’ Situation” is about bartender Annie aka Rhey and firefighter Tristan aka Tripp. Tripp and Rhey cross paths at a summer festival and Tripp finds himself stepping into the roll of “Knight in Shining Armor” for Rhey not once, but twice. Together they brave a destructive wildfire, not knowing past connections lurk just around the corner.

Romance/Spice:
I’ll be honest, I didn’t find myself gravitating toward the romantic aspect of their relationship. It felt a little too fast paced for me. However, they did have some romantic moments that genuinely made me smile.
The most well-written part of Tripp and Rhey’s relationship was the spice. I loved the spicy scenes and thought they were really well done.

Plot:
I enjoyed the plot. It gave me Fire Country vibes which I loved. The MMC saving the FMC and then having to stay together in a cabin to wait out the fire? GOLD.

Pacing:
The pacing was my least favorite part of the book to be honest. Everything just seemed to escalate a little too quickly for my particular taste, but if you personally love a faster paced spicy romance, I definitely recommend this to you.

Writing: I don’t have any major criticisms, but there were certain scenes I wanted more from.

Extra thoughts:
I thought the inclusion of Tripp’s PTSD was a good detail. It brought depth to his character as well as the tougher aspects of life to Rhey and Tripp’s relationship. I do think Rhey’s (what I would consider) PTSD from her losses as well as the fire could’ve been explored more.

Overall:
I thought this was a good spicy romance and I’m definitely interested in going back and reading the previous books from this series. I also hope we get to see Baker and Reese, as well as Jayden and Mack’s relationship, make it into this series.

I was looking forward to this listen after enjoying the first two of the series but, unfortunately, this one didn't hit so great for me. It wasn't necessarily bad. If you love instalust/love in a (lightly) high-pressure situation with a little brother's ex/ex's brother thrown in, this will probably hit the mark for you. My issue was the "hidden identity"/miscommunication piece of the story. I don't want to be overly spoilery but come on. Spoilers ahead.... I don't know, I just found that whole part of the plot so frustrating. Like, it's right there in front of you, OPEN YOUR EYES! That whole piece just really brought me out of the book screaming at the void to pay attention. And, it's worthy to note, you HAVE to be down with instalove for this one. Instalove to the max so if that's not your thing, definitely keep that in mind.

I enjoyed on audio and again enjoyed Madison and Theodore's narration. I hope to see Theodore around more. I still wish there was some more inflection changes in Madison's voice when switching between female characters in a conversation. When it's a conversation with two or more female characters, it can be hard to follow who is who because they all sound so similar.

Big thanks to Luna Literary Management and E.L. Koslo for the early listener copy.

I litterally dropped every other book I was reading when this book came into my posession. Literally, because I dropped my ereader in all the excitement (no worries, he is okay, I was reading on my bed). I finished it earlier today and I'm still excited. It was so much fun.

With book 1 and 2 being very good, this one had to fill some shoes -or as far books can do that, because they don't really have feet to walk on- (lol). I can tell you, it was just as fun. I also highlighted A LOT of things I liked, and one sentence even made me squeel (that almost never happens).

I also liked how there were some recurring characters from the previous books, because I kind of wondered what happened to them all. And this is not just something I say for this review, I was really talking about it a while back to my friend who also read the first two books!

(That same friend also got a text message the minute I downloaded the book, because I had to share my excitement! And damn, I find it very hard to not talk about everything with her, but I guess I have to wait until she can read this book too... Very sad.)

To just sum it up: Liked the book, recommending the book, crying that I can't talk about all the details in the book, and happily sharing this review of the book! Go read it!

I got this book as an ARC, but I'm leaving this review 100% voluntarily. A big thank you to the author! For the ARC, but definitely also just for writing this!

✨ Smokin’ Situation by E.L. Koslo – A Feel-Good, Firelit Romance ✨

Smokin’ Situation is exactly the kind of spicy, heartwarming read I love diving into when I want low angst and big feelings. This Fourth of July-themed romance hits all the right notes: a scarred, reclusive cowboy cinnamon roll hero, a strong and sassy heroine with a complicated past, and just enough heat to make the pages sizzle. 🔥

The story kicks off with a dramatic wildfire rescue that feels straight out of a fantasy—Annie being swept away on horseback by a mystery man (hello, masked romance novel hero energy!) and ending up safe but stranded with Tripp in a remote cabin. Cue the forced proximity and instant chemistry!

Annie and Tristan have a past, albeit a brief and not-so-simple one, but this book doesn’t dwell on unnecessary drama. Their connection builds quickly—yes, this is very much an insta-lust situation—but it works. What I really appreciated is how the romance unfolds around the idea of rebuilding: not just a relationship, but a sense of self and belonging.

This is a low-angst story with a lot of heart. The tension is light, the spice level is solid (I'd say a 4/5!), and the small-town Sage Springs setting is charming as ever. Even though it’s part of the Masked Men of Sage Springs series, you can absolutely read it as a standalone.

Bonus points for the side characters—I’m already hoping to see more of them in future books!

If you’re in the mood for something hot, heartfelt, and easy to love, Smokin’ Situation is a great pick. ❤️‍🔥

While this book wasn’t terrible, it just wasn’t for me because I didn’t really like anything about it. I didn’t particularly care for Tristan and Annie, or their relationship; while the way the identity mix-up happened was fine, I didn’t like what happened when the truth came out; there weren’t enough side characters; it was lust focused and boring.

Annie is in a casual friends with benefits situation with Jay, but she’s not really feeling it anymore and plans to talk to him about it when he gets back (they’re not exclusive but they’re still technically in the situationship when she meets Tristan). She meets Tristan, but only knows him by the name Tripp, and while they talked about their pasts and Annie mentioned her arrangement with another guy, there was no reason for them to realise that Jay is Tristan’s brother. Near the end, they are confronted with Jay and I didn’t like either of their reactions, which were both to run instead of talking about the situation. Also, I didn’t understand why it had to be Tristan who had to do the grand gesture when he didn’t do anything.

There wasn’t much of a plot. There’s a fire which Annie heads towards because she’s so worried about her sister and yet forgets about her as soon as Tristan saves her. There are multiple sex scenes, minimal interactions with side characters, and the fact that Annie’s cabin burns down is casually mentioned once near the end and then in the epilogue.

The budding romance between Annie/Rhey and Tristan/Tripp is one hell of a ride. They meet, unknowingly their connection, and it turns into a whirlwind romance. He saves her life as her world comes crumbling down around her. When her FWB returns to town, her life is thrown for another curve. The two had spent the few days between the festival and the FWB’s return with each other, nonstop. Many rounds between them. This book takes readers on a steamy romance that neither of them saw coming, with limits being tested.
This was the first spicy book that I read outside of reading my sister's debut novel, so it allowed me to get a glimpse into the romance genre without having any connection to it. I won’t like and say I dove headfirst into it, as it took me a minute to get into the genre of romance. Now, the story of Annie and Tripp, which was no issue, I was absolutely sucked into their story, and was rooting for them from the beginning, but being really only a thriller/suspense reader before this, it took me a minute to get used to the idea of spicy being on paper. I know how that sounds, but ya know, you have to start somewhere, and I haven’t looked back since soooo....This book introduced me to E.L. Koslo, and I instantly fell in love with her writing style and started to read her other books as well in between other books. Definitely an instant fan with this one. This is book three in the Masked Men of Sage Springs, and can be read alone.

Talk about two people who heat the pages up, but it was not love at first sight for one of them. Ms. Koslo delivers a heartwarming, entertaining, and emotional love story where the two MCs have baggage yet find a way to help and care for one another. Now it wouldn't be a Ms. Koslo story without witty banter, steamy scenes and friends and family that add to the excitement.
Annie/Rhey and Tristian/Tripp have an interesting first meet and he falls hard and fast but he is met with some resistance from Rhey. They both have a past that haunts them but also connects them. Tripp is a brooding firefighter who has to prove himself after an accident. He seems to have a chip on his shoulder but it is the accident that affects him in more ways than one. Rhey is a strong and sassy woman who lost her parents and is trying to get by in life. A dangerous situation sees the two of them forced together and the sparks start to fly. Talk about a five-alarm fire.
Right from the start, I loved these two together. The push/pull relationship, the lustful glances, touches and words, plus their chemistry, had me smiling throughout the book.

Oh EL Koslo you beautiful queen.

We are back in Sage springs for our third book. We have a file fighter and a sassy bartender. Oh let's kick it up a notch shall we our sassy bartender, she has a FWB arrangement with an ex and it's starting to dwindle lately. While he's away she meets Tripp (Tristan) his older brother (unknowingly) and the sparks between them fly.
Tripp is home in Sage falls working on a ranch and volunteering as a fire fighter while dealing with trauma and scars of the past. Should he be getting distracted by someone like Rhey, (Annie) no probably not. But he can't seem to stay away, especially as the universe keeps having him rescue her.
If you're like me you have been waiting for Annie's book since the spitfire bartender made her first appearance in Accidental Abduction. This book did not let me down. EL Koslo and her incredible brain never do, I swear!
This interconnected, standalone, firefighter, cowboy, sassy FMC, was everything and more. The Chemistry between the MCs is undeniable and palpable, the spice is absolutely delicious and then there is a deeper emotional ride with healing from PTSD.
Recommend, recommend, absolutely recommend!

4 ⭐️ Review!
If you're looking for a sizzling romance that ignites amidst the chaos of wildfires and unexpected rescues, look no further than Smokin' Situation by E.L.
Koslo! Picture this: a fiery blaze on a remote county road, and in swoops a mystery man on horseback, rescuing our female main character, Rhey, like a scene straight out of a steamy romance novel. Talk about a thrilling entrance!

Sheltered in a lakeside cabin, Rhey, finds herself hunkered down with the new man in town, Tripp, who is navigating his new role with the Sage Springs volunteer fire department and as a manager at a local horse ranch. He's got a past and a lot of trauma to deal with. This ignites a whirlwind romance that feels both electrifying and inevitable. But just when things heat up, their tumultuous past threatens to spark a different kind of fire-one that could tear them apart.

With breathtaking chemistry and passionate encounters that leave you breathless, Koslo expertly crafts a narrative that's as wild as the flames themselves. You won't be able to put this book down as you watch their love story unfold against the stunning backdrop of nature and danger.

So, if you're craving a book that blends heart-pounding action with steamy romance, I highly recommend Smokin' Situation! It's a solid 4 read that will leave your heart racing and yearning for more.

Smokin’ Situation had me hooked from the second a mystery man rode in on horseback to save the day—yes, literally. If you’re like me and have a soft spot for rugged volunteer firefighters and small-town chaos, this one delivers with flames, both literal and emotional. The chemistry between Annie and her accidental hero, Tristan, was instant but complicated in the best kind of way. I loved watching her balance being a tough bartender by day and a resilient woman helping someone through PTSD by night—it added a realness I wasn’t expecting. There’s something about a lakeside cabin, a wildfire rescue, and an unexpected 4th of July romance that made this feel like summer in book form.

The twist with Tristan being the brother of her friends with benefits and it was messy and delicious. Their tension felt real, like you could actually feel the weight of their secrets and the danger closing in. Tthe small-town charm, the horses, and that sizzling “we shouldn’t but we do anyway” energy made it such a fun ride. If you’re looking for heat, heart, and just the right amount of chaos, this book absolutely brings the spark.

🎧audiobook review for Smokin' Situation by EL Koslo's was a smokin great time. I have enjoyed each book in this series and love that we get Theodore Zephyr & Madison Mitts in the duet narration, they play off each other so well and portray the characters amazingly.

I am always down for a firefighter but she combined it with a cowboy and all I can say is YESS!! Tripp and Rhey have an instant connection on the attraction level that only develops throughout the book as they get to know each other and when he is there to save her in a life and death situation only solidifying the connection and feelings. I loved that Tripp was a hero but also suffered from PTSD and opened up and was vulnerable with her. Rhey was such a fun character strong, independent but was able to open up with Tripp. These two were able to lean on each other.
Another great book in the series.

Smokin’ Hot Read

This audiobook is hot! From the plot, characters, and narration. I enjoyed everything about it.

I thought I was heading into a hot summer romance but ended up with so much more. There was suspense, some action, and big emotions that went along with it. I wasn’t expecting all that but I’m definitely here for it.

I can understand that independent and stubbornness that Rhey possesses. It makes Tripp that much more swoon worthy that he understands this about her. He doesn’t take over but instead stands beside her to help.

Tripp is a dream. His personality is charming, even if it is a little broody at first. He’s a fire fighter and a cowboy. Plus he gladly takes orders from Rhey. 😮‍💨🥵🔥

Madison and Theodore brought the chemistry between Rhey and Tripp to life. I felt like I was in Sage Springs as their story unfolded. I typically multitask while listening to an audiobook. With this one I found myself forgetting what I was doing - I ended up just sitting down to listen & enjoy this book.

This book was great and the narration was fantastic. A must listen/read for this summer.

🎆 4th of July Themed
🐎 Mistaken Identity - FWB’s older brother
🎆 PTSD Rep

🎆 Bartender FMC
🐎 Volunteer Firefighter Cowboy MMC

When Annie is trapped with a wildfire nearby, firefighter, Tristan rides in on a horse and rescues her. The two start a quick relationship without realizing that Tristan's little brother is Annie's ex-FWB.

E.L. has a way of creating perfect cinnamon roll heroes, that I've found most authors can't top. Tristan was just another character to add to my favorite book boyfriends. Talk about swoon and master of intimate (not sexual) touches. Well, he is pretty great at the sexual ones as well!🤭🤣

Annie, Annie, Annie... this woman had such a DIRTY mouth! Lol, I loved it! She was feisty and perfectly kept Tristan enamored with her dominance in the bedroom and out of it!👀🥵

With each new book, I become even more in love with your writing, E.L.! Thank you sweet friend for trusting me to ARC this book! I'm excited for the next one!😘❤️

Smokin’ Situation is my first book by E.L. Koslo and it will not be my last!!!!! I enjoyed this story so much. It’s original. It’s written well easy to read. There are a few times that I actually had goosebumps. I’m not usually into Insta love/attraction but this one had me from the beginning.

The chemistry between Tripp and Raye is electric. I love the way that interact between each other. And the spice is fantastic. I will definitely be rooting the first two books in the series and any that come later.

Theodore Zypher and Madison Mitts did an exceptional job. They are believable as a characters. They sounded wonderful together, and you can feel the chemistry between them. I will be looking for books narrated by these two in the future.

This is a perfect book to listen to or read on a hot summer weekend. Or if you’re looking for something to warm up those cold winter nights. This is such a great book. You should read it.

“Maybe coming back home wasn’t running away. Maybe it was coming home. To you.”

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

This story was so different from the other books in the series, but it was still so so good. I really loved Rhey and Tripp and the connection between them. All their flirting and the innuendos were a lot of fun. And I loved how protective Tripp was of Rhey from the moment he met her.

This book has a lot of of emotional moments that will tear at your heartstrings. And that moment when the family drama hit... thank God, I was a fly on that wall, because that was fun to witness.

To no one's surprise, Theo and Maddie were amazing in this narration. They nailed every character, and every emotion, from the laughs to the tears to the spice.

Quote: “I want you to stay. Not just because you don’t have any other options. I want to wake up with you every morning and go to bed with you every night. I want to go on rides with you and growl at guys who hit on you at the bar.”

The title says it all because yes that was indeed a smoking situation

Our MCs relationship starts because of an actual fire and its not insignificant, the situation is very serious, its scary to know people actually go through this
Trip may be the knight in shining armor firefighter but ultimately it is Rhey who helps him
I feel they saved each other in a lot of ways
Their connection is instant and their chemistry is undeniable
They both fall fast and hard for each other
Everything that happens to them only makes their bond stronger and in the end it proves just how much they were ment to be

This is the 3rd book in the interconnected series
I loved every second of this series, the different takes on masked men was great and ai cannot wait for more from E.L Koslo

The narrators did their job with this one
It was so easy to listen and enjoy this story
They make it seem so real with their effortless performance
I will be on the look out for more audios by this pair

"Not all scars can be seen" sums up this story. Tripp a volunteer Fireman/Ranch Manager has recently been injured while being a smoke jumper - fighting wild fires. He returns to his hometown and meets Rhey (Annie) a bartender who not only has some emotional scars from her past, she just so happens to be his younger brothers 'friends w/benefits'. They don't know who about the connection to each other.

From the book "I yearned to find someone who would finally see who I was and what I was passionate about. That despite my rough edges and scars, I just wanted someone to love and return it without conditions or hesitation." (SOB)

The characters are well written and this is the 3rd (standalone) in an interconnected world of Sage Springs. I highly recommend you read the other books in the series - they are all fantastic.

I did receive the book as ARC but opinions are my own.

I was immediately drawn to this book by the blurb. Rescued by a masked man on horseback? Yeah, I’m there. Tripp and Annie had inescapable magnetism. Their timeline was quick, but I barely considered that. With all of the events that transpired from their first meeting, they lived several lifetimes. There is nothing like a couple of emergencies to really bond a pair together.

This book was dramaaaa! Contending with a literal wildfire was the complicated relationship history. What do you mean Annie’s ex-situationship is Tripp’s baby brother? I was peeking through my fingers when it all came to a head. Even with how complicated that was, it was ironed out in a satisfying way.

I loved Tripp and Annie, but I was also intrigued by the side characters. I need the Baker and Reese book ASAP! Jay’s book too I guess. At least Mack sounds like she will humble him constantly.

What can I say about this? freaking awesome is what I say! I have loved this series since the first word of the first book, accidental abduction. I love how they start off very awkward and him being grumpy. Both of them tiptoeing around until she is in peril. I love how his hero kicks in even though he doesn't know who it is. They both compliment each other, being able to bring each other out of their panic. Their constant flirting and teasing is adorable as they work each other up. I could smack his little brother Jay. He acts like a child who has his favorite toy stolen from him, and I'm glad he wised up before they both lost her. I wish I could have seen his mom really lay into him for his actions, Charley was wonderful for helping him out and getting him started on winning her backhe did need some help. Can't wait to what the next book holds. Hopefully there will be one.

Smokin’ Situation by E.L. Koslo is a steamy small-town romance and the third installment in the interconnected Masked Men of Sage Springs series. While it's part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone.

Set around the Fourth of July, the story centers on Tristan and Annie. I absolutely loved the chemistry between the main characters and especially enjoyed watching Tristan’s character grow throughout the book.

Things heat up quickly—this is a fast-paced, spicy romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. That said, I have to admit I preferred Accidental Abduction (Book 1) and Illicit Illustrations (Book 2) just a little more. Still, Smokin’ Situation is a highly entertaining and satisfying read in its own right.

I really enjoyed this book. Tripp and Rhey were strong characters with deep pasts that made their story very real. Their connection didn’t start easy, but it grew naturally and felt true. I liked how the author mixed serious emotions with funny and spicy moments, so the book never got too heavy. Tripp had some tough things to deal with after his accident, and Rhey was strong but also had her own struggles. They supported each other in ways that felt honest and caring. The chemistry was amazing, with plenty of teasing and heat that kept me hooked. The story moved at the right speed, so their relationship didn’t feel rushed but still exciting. Loved it. Thank you so much to the author and Torch Link for giving me the opportunity to read the book in advance, I received this for free and I'm leaving an honest review.

First time reading E.L. Koslo and I need to go back and read everything, especially this series! I am a sucker for a book or novella based around a holiday - this one is the 4th of the July.

The spice hits early and fast. No complaints from me there. Koslo writes spice well and is also excellent at writing the tension between Tripp and Annie. With that being said, the romance and love between Annie and Trip is heartwarming. There isn't much angst which I was grateful for because these two were pulling my heart out of my chest with how cute they were. Seriously, I've already reread this once so far! So clearly, I recommend this one.

This is book 3 of the Masked Men of Sage Springs series and can be read as a standalone. This was the first book that I read and I didn’t feel lost at all.

𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑵𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔: Tripp & Rhey
𝑺𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈: Sage Springs

These two keep getting thrown together and it is clear from the first meeting that they have quite the chemistry. Tripp ends up having to rescue Rhey during a wildfire and they get stuck together. Things get hotter than the wildfire between them!

The audiobook was narrated by Theodore Zephyr & Madison Mitts. They did an amazing job with the narration. But I did feel slightly confused about where this story took place. I am most familiar with the narrators for books that take place in the UK. But maybe that's just me? They did a great job portraying the characters and bringing all the heat.
