Because sometimes life moves forward whether you’re ready or not
I thought my life was full with two beautiful, amazing women to love. Adding Meredith to our family has grown things in ways I could never have expected.
But Meredith’s needs are not the same as Lexie’s and Olivia’s, and when I’m given a chance to advance my career by moving to a prominent venture capital firm led by one of the city’s most interesting investors, I know I need to accept.
Yet doing so brings me into a world I may not be ready for, and it takes me into the orbit of a young woman who’s like no one I’ve ever met.
Caught between the demands of my new career and my ever-evolving family, I must once again decide what sort of man I am – and what kind of life I’m going to live.
Bikini Sunset is a multi-POV, explicit, age-gap, harem romance with emotional drama, no cheating/NTR, and a HEA.
Michael Dalton is a professional journalist and editor.
Michael wrote his first piece of fiction in third grade, for which he was immediately accused of plagiarism by his teacher. Since then, he has been writing more or less steadily, interrupted only by occasional demands of work and family.
Michael lives with his family and multiple pets in Southern California.
I love the mixture of normal life and the warmth of the relationships. This is what all erotica should be like. It (life) is never just a quick sexual happening, that would never be the basis for a lasting friendship, love and attraction needed in a long term, mutually enjoyable time together. The people in this story care for one another, they are interested in one another, their needs and the day to activity. Ethan may not be the last lover these wonderful girls have, at some point one or more may find love with someone else, breaking many hearts certainly. But in the meantime Ethan the Papa Bear, is needed. Dread waiting for the next chapter in their lives. Please Michael, do not ever stop this series, after all, 5 lives need to brought to the end of their story.
This is the fourth book I’ve read in this series and it’s as new and fresh as the first.
This could be a complicated story with 3 young women (mid-twenties to early 30s) and a late 40s man, Ethan. It’s less of a challenge because they all get along and Ethan provides a supportive and accepting environment.
The drama here is a 21 yr old that wants into the group. That relationship evolves in a mature way over the course of the story.
The other really interesting aspect is the technology side of the story. Ethan is a patent lawyer in the heart of the hi-tech industry in Southern California. While the technology discussions are very high level (maybe superficial), some of the business concepts around technology development, funding and patent protection add further interest.
5 Very Solid Stars.
POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT
This author has written a bunch of scifi/paranormal titles. There’s an indication the series could be headed in that direction. I’m not sure how I feel about that? 🤔
More of the same themes and topics but this book was definitely more tame then the previous ones. I definitely liked it but I'm expecting a little more spontaneous adult interactions. Seems to. E that it is getting close to time for a vacation for this group. That could be interesting!
After reading the three preceding bikini books, this was another well written episode in the life of an interesting man and his loving women. It was realistic to see him go through the stress of a new job, particularly the attention he receives from someone new. On reaching the end of this book there is the mention of a secret that his boss has that apparently will impact our MC in the future. That and the next book coming will prove very interesting. To fans of Michael Dalton it should be obvious what is going to happen. I know, do you? The hints are there
As one Science Fiction character said " There are always options " . One of the enjoyable aspects of Fiction is the little hint: The chances of reality may be slim but----. Mr. Dalton allows us that vision. The characters in this story embrace a philosophy coined in a cultural toast Health,Wealth and the Time to enjoy it. A very enjoyable reading experience Bill Hodges
I was so looking forward to this after the last Dark City Girls book, and although it is only the lead up to that, I'm super excited I'm really interested to see how our two different worlds collide. Besides that stuff, this was another continuation of an amazing slice of life romance whose characters have so much depth. This continues to be one of my favorite series in the genre along with Misty Vixens Our Own Way.
Great author and this is possibly his best series. I just love all the characters. They are just trying. To get through life while also supporting and loving each other. It is realistic and beautiful. The romance, the dialogue, it’s all just top notch.
The characters are excellent and the plot is definitely going places I hadn't thought about. I had not thought that we would connect with what 2 maybe 3 other series. I can't wait for the next book to see how many we will connect with! But it is going to be exciting!
Like all Michael Dalton books this is very well written and with great characters. I've read almost everything he's ever written and this is my personal favorite
I some respects this may be the best so far in the series. In addition it opens up intriguing thought about AI which was a pleasant surprise. Excellent story!
Writing is still good, but this takes slice-of-life to the extreme. Nothing much happens other than a lot of sex, decriptions of cooking/eating, and lawyer stuff. Boring is my assessment, but the end of the book hints that this whole book was setup for bringing the mundanes into the larger magical scene.
Hopefully that happens, as I barely finished this one, and that only with skipping/skimming most of the book.
I really like this series. The MC is passionate about everything he does, and it comes across through the writing. Even the boring stuff like his job is interesting because he is passionate about it. The detail the author puts into making dinner shows there is a passion for cooking. Then there is the passion in the relationship. Everyone in the relationship is getting what they need out of it. They do things for others because they know it will make the other person happy and that makes them happy. Ethan's girls go around and show him their boobs because they know it will bring a big smile to his face. Making him happy makes them happy and that makes him want to make them happy in return. It is cyclical. I wish more women would realize how healing boobs are. Your man is unhappy, show him your boobs. No matter what else is going on, his day will be a little bit better. I also like how they handle the age gap part of the story. The girls explain the difference in men who are into much younger women. It kind of makes sense to me. Olivia explains to Ethan that there are two types of men who date younger women. The vast majority of them do it because they like the power imbalance involved. They like the young and innocent and like the feeling of having more control. Then there are the ones like Ethan who just want to take care of the women. He wants them to succeed. He mentors them but doesn't control them. He gives them support and allows them to make their own decisions. He knows a lot about the world and is very competent. This is extremely attractive to women. It kind of made me think about women who date their boss. In most cases it comes across as creepy. A guy taking advantage of his power over women below him. But what happens if the woman is the one who initiates it? I would think that in order for the person to be the boss he would have to competent in his job. If the woman likes him, he likely treats her with respect and is supportive of her career and goals. Why wouldn't a woman want to be with a man like that? Should the boss reject the advances if they come from a true desire to be with him? I agree that most of the time it is a bad idea but every once in a while, it is beautiful. It is probably similar to poly relationships. I think most of them would crash and burn but every once in a while, they could be beautiful relationships.
I am not sure how I feel about the author integrating his other stories into this world. This was the only series from this author that didn't have a supernatural component, so I am not sure where this series is going now that the integration has started. The series was so good before I am not sure how to feel about it. Overall though, it is still a good series, and I am looking forward to the next one.
This is one of my favorite series' that I don't take too seriously and just read and enjoy. But I'm a little worried about the direction of the new girl and the epiloge. Throughout the series, theres been little tie-ins and stuff to his other, more magical, books. Which I find just as so, cool tie-ins, but the epilogue is all but blatantly shunting all the normality of the series out. And frankly, how it was done, I don't favor either. A lie of omission is still a lie, and whatever Arellia took and did is not a small betrayal, let alone the other characters' actions or lack thereof. Having a good grasp on the main characters moral standpoints, it's hard to believe that he'll look at it any differently than that; especially with his history.
That may be reading too far into it but the entire premise of this series is, more or less, a somewhat realistic uncomplicated harem romance that always really ends on a happy note with no weird things going on. Ive liked it so much because of that but I'm cautiously curious where this series is heading.
This was probably the best one of the series. The author is obviously well-versed in IP lawyer stuff because the entire series had incredibly realistic legal situations. But Dalton also did an amazing job researching for the car scene in Shifter Girls, so who knows. Anyway, there are great emotional scenes, great advice was thrown around (fitting really well into what Ethan is as the Papa Bear), and everything was surprisingly realistic even tho it's obviously fantasy. The detailed cooking scenes are as delicious as always. I should try one of these recipes! The tie-ins with Demon Hunter are pretty prevailant in this one, even going so far as to provide a kind of second epilogue - it explained what happened with Ariella (the fallen angel's daughter) as she comes into her own, and even what happened to BSC. Really cool stuff.
The series so far has been a pretty conventional mens romance, but the crossover with the author's other series is getting stronger as the series goes on, and it might well be worth reading Demon Hunter or Shifter Girls to get the most out of it.
At any rate, want to read a very, very competently executed story about a guy in a polycule with two much younger women? If so, then this is the book for you! If not, then there's not much else happening here, so you probably won't like it.
Absolutely awesome! Again another great story in the Bikini Saga. Ethan is a great male MC and the women are special and spectacular. The new addition is beyond intriguing and the end of the book allows for so many great possibilities! The next release will not be soon enough! Another pre-order but a definite immediate read upon release.
Slice of life, May-December romance, poly relationships, adult situations
Ethan, Olivia, Lexie, and Meredith bond and settle into their lives and pursue career changes. Quite the tantalizing teaser at the end! Above average editing. Now, I have to wait for the next one in the series to publish!
The series is good enough to buy not kindle unlimited!! I don’t want to give this book back. The store is adult in more ways than one. The relationships work because the MC and his girls work on them. It’s not just we jumped into bed and we are all good now. Please do yourself a favor and pick up this series. You won’t be disappointed.
There is so much to be gained by reading this series. The characters present actual real word issues and work through them. Happy to know there are more stories in this terrific series! Bring on Book 5!
I'll go out on a limb and say this is the best book in the series so far! It's well-written and a refreshing change of pace from what I usually read. I can't wait for Bikini Magic to be released on Audible; 'll be buying it right away!
I can't say I didn't suspect this was coming. I didn't expect the full Jimmy Kaplan Monte. I am so looking forward to bikini magic. I've been wanting to hear more from the Kaplan family. I hope you can pull up a few more episodes of this series. Thanks Michael
