This was my first read by Sea Caummisar, and I really enjoyed it! I'll admit, it took me a bit to get used to the different POVs. The chapters change POV, so you're switching between four characters. Once I read a few chapters, though, I got used to it and they flowed.
It's an interesting and intriguing story, and I like Caummisar's writing style. There's no fluff, and it's straightforward. I know she writes extreme horror, but I also knew beforehand that this story wasn't as extreme. I found this to be true, but when it gets violent... she doesn't hold back! And you can smell, taste, hear, and picture these scenes very clearly with her descriptive writing.
The pacing is well done, and it's a fun (and harrowing) psychological thriller.
The first book I've read by Sea Caummisar. All at the same time, it is a RomCom, a Mystery Who dun it, and a solid horror story. I LOVE IT!!! I couldn't put it down! Here, you have 4 (or is it 5?) POV characters. The story flows smoothly between them. A lesbian sister sets up a 'Dating Game' with her twin brothers and a beautiful girl. What could possibly go wrong? You can tell some stories were a labor for the writer, some are a labor for the reader. This story is an absolute JOY RIDE for both!!!! I read eBooks. When I find a really great story, a hard-copy finds its way to my bookshelf. Oh yes, this story WILL be on my bookshelf!!!! I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SHORT, FUN READ TO EVERYONE!!!!!
The twists in this novella were completely unexpected and unhinged. There is not as much violence as usual in Sea's books but the story is unique and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I'm a little iffy on Brotherly Competition, truth be told.
Swapping so much between POVs made the story feel a little disjointed to me. I had a hard time connecting with any of the characters because right when I was getting involved in their thought processes, the story switched to a different POV.
The thing with the sort of but not really incest really threw me off also. There didn't seem to be anything hinting to that in the story, so it felt like it came from left field. For someone who was supposedly pining after his sister and couldn't love anyone else, he never acted like he felt that way at all until he randomly decided to get drunk and confess to her. This plot point felt like it was added later on in the process just for shock value and didn't really get integrated into the story.
This story had a really interesting premise, and I wanted to like it, but it didn't really hit right for me. I was left with a lot of questions in the end (what happened to Jade? Did she just vanish?) and a sense of unfulfillment.
Slightly different from the more extreme reads of Sea Caummisar, but a great exciting read non the less. Your captured immediately by the twins and the difference between them. Then their sister olivia, aka olly. A seemingly close family? They each have their quarks and different ways. But they are bound by the loss of their parents. A fascinating insight of what happens and can happen in these situations. Definitely recommend..
Nice and dark! The scene with the softball player oh my god 🤢 Great little read, highly enjoyed it and did not see Jade being the murderer! My bets were on Owen so I was glad it wasn’t obvious. 4⭐️

When I see the name Sea Caummisar, I know I'm in for one helluva ride. This story is more tame than what I've read, but parts that were extreme were EXTREME. This story is about two brothers competing for one woman. Those brothers happen to be twins but different in every way possible. Enter Jade the love interest that the brothers are vying for. And then there's Olly, the twins older sister. I really thought I knew where this story was going, but sadly, I was mistaken. I loved every twist and turn
During this competition for a woman between brothers you keep hearing from this murderer. They keep killing woman after woman. Why are they killing? Who is it? One of the brothers, the sister, the woman they are competing for her affection, an outsider? You have to read this to find out what happens to this family.
