She’ll risk a lie for him, but will she risk her heart? Cynthia Lathem loves caring for the griffins and pegasuses her employer recently inherited, even if her fellow stable hand, Andrew Spurgle, trails chaos everywhere he goes. She knows he means well, but when Andrew accidentally destroys the interior of the barn the animals are kept in, Cynthia knows it will take more than a miracle to save Andrew's job. If Andrew loses his job, she loses her only excuse to see him every day. While she's willing to risk a lie to give them a chance to put everything right, is she willing to risk her heart at a chance for her own happily ever after with Andrew? Love & A Bit of Disorder is a short story full of laughs, mythical animals, and a romance as sweet as maple syrup! This story was originally published in the Raconteur Press anthology, You See What Happened Was... in November 2023.
Elaine Canyon writes light-hearted and stabby romantasy comedies, because you shouldn’t have to choose between a romantasy and a rom-com. Her books feature romances in bright fantasy worlds full of adventure and characters that are sure to leave you laughing. She writes closed door romances with swoony kisses and heart-melting chemistry. Elaine lives in the mountains of central Utah with her husband and children. When she’s not writing, you can find her in the mountains, hiking, rock climbing, and skiing with her family.
This is a delightful little short story where Elaine does a wonderful job of making you fall in love with Cynthia and Andrew. Gotta love Andrew’s clumsiness and Cynthia’s kindness. Loved listening to the audiobook as well, which is narrated by the author. A very cute and quick story!
This is a novella/short story about two farmhands who are interested in each other. They take care of pegasus(es?) and griffins together. She's very competent and he's a walking disaster, but a cute one. Sweet and cute and a bit funny - I'm a fan of this new author.
A very cute and easy read to get through! Though I wish the story could’ve been longer with more of this world for us to read about and more character development, it’s definitely a read I could definitely recommend if you’re looking for something easy and quick to read.
Listen through audible, i say listen the person who was telling the story didn't capture my ears or mind. I didn't really know what went on. It was short too.
Pretty cute story, also a nice short read but it took me a few days to read the 37 page story. Also nice seeing a sneak peak of another story at the end of this one.
