Novo livro do Kobi Yamada 🦋 eu não tenho filhos mas se um dia tiver eles irão ter os livros todos deste senhor!
Este e o Maybe (❤️) foram os meus preferidos até agora e sei que muita da magia destes dois livros deve-se também às ilustrações lindaaaaasss feitas por Gabriella Barouch.

I feel like this book is meant to be geared towards young children but it reads more to an upper elementary kid instead, inspiring kindness, love and to be brave and adventurous. It almost feels like a graduation gift idea as kids transition into teens and adulthood with the optimistic “Be all you can be” language. The illustrations were gorgeous, extremely detailed and oh-so magical, and the colors were vivid and had us glued to each page as we read the story. My son noticed an interesting detail with the young Arctic fox(?) on each page and it’s subtle transformation as it nears the end and is reunited with its parent. Definitely an ode to life and all the beauty that is within it.

Meine Meinung:
Dieses Bilderbuch ist wirklich etwas Besonderes. Schon die Gestaltung sticht heraus: Jede Seite ist mit so viel Liebe zum Detail und Kreativität illustriert, dass man sie am liebsten immer wieder ansehen möchte. Die Bilder erzählen ihre eigene Geschichte, laden zum Träumen ein und machen das Buch zu einem echten Kunstwerk. Es ist spürbar, wie viel Herzblut hier hineingeflossen ist.
Die Texte sind tiefgründig und regen dazu an, die Welt ein kleines bisschen anders – vielleicht ein bisschen besser – zu sehen. Sie inspirieren dazu, über den eigenen Horizont hinauszublicken. Allerdings sind manche Formulierungen sprachlich etwas anspruchsvoll, besonders für die ganz Kleinen. Trotzdem: Die Botschaft bleibt klar und macht Mut, etwas zu bewegen. Ein wunderschönes Buch, das zum Nachdenken und Träumen einlädt und einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlässt!

Don't wait for things to be great to be grateful. Paying attention is an act of love. Noticing is caring.

Maybe is one of my favorite picture books, so I had to pick up this spiritual companion from the same author-illustrator duo. Why Not? didn't end up speaking to me quite as much (I'm a little too cynical for the premise; if you ask me "why not?", my brain going to immediately start listing reasons), but the illustrations are just as stunning.

Beautiful, whimsical illustrations and inspiring text combine to convey a message of hope when setting out on a new journey. It's a reminder to act in kindness, to dream big, and to strive to leave the world just a little bit better before we leave.

This would be a great graduation gift for someone graduating from elementary school or even up to college.

Kobi Yamada does not disappoint. This is yet another beautiful, thoughtful, and magical book. I love that this picture book is truly for all ages. The writing is elegant and carries a lovely message, yet the author has a unique ability to keep things open to the reader’s interpretation. The illustrations are equally magical and captivating.

This picture book is absolutely stunning. I cannot describe how beautiful it is. I fell in love with Maybe by the same author because of the pig, but I fell in love with everything about this one.
