Abigail has given up being a grinch. She even kind of likes Christmas these days. But when her mate-bond with dragon shifter Jasper tells her there's trouble brewing, she has to act fast to save the day - and save her Christmas-loving mate from himself.
Jasper puts his whole heart into making Christmas magical for their small town, but this year he is running himself ragged. There's only one thing for it. If she's going to make her fated mate's Christmas sleighbell-jingling good? She has to steal it from him first.
A Gift for the Christmas Dragon is a short, steamy holiday read about two fated mates getting themselves tied up in tinsel trying to give each other the best Christmas ever. No cliffhangers, plenty of festive shenanigans, and a happy-ever-after guaranteed!
Note for Abigail and Jasper first appear in A Mate for the Christmas Dragon, and this book contains some spoilers for their book and other couples in the A Mate for Christmas series.
Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!
While series should ideally be read in order, all of Zoe’s books are standalones and can be read in any order. This includes books within series.
I very rarely read any series that I know will take years to complete, but especially those where there's only one book released each year. Yes, even if it's written by one of my favorite authors. I just read so many books (approx 5-7 a week), and it's very easy to forget something that I read a year ago, especially when trying to figure out the characters, and everything else to be able to start the new book. However, when I initially started this series, I didn't realize that it would only release one book a year. There were 2 books already available, which I read and fell in love with, and so I decided that I would try it the next year when the next book released. I have to admit that I was thrilled when I started reading the 3rd book! I recognized all of the characters, even though I forgot a lot of the smaller details, but it was really easy to pick up and continue with the next book. It made me very happy, because I know that it's not always this way.
This series is about the Fated Mate's finally finding one another, some after an extensive search. But don't go thinking that everything is smooth sailing once they find each other, oh no! It's usually just the opposite! Lol!! The stories are absolutely fantastic, hilarious, sweet, sexy, full of drama, mystery, some suspense, and the overwhelming love that only the holidays can bring! It's a definite must read series that can be enjoyed any time of the year!
I honestly thought after book #5 it would be the end of this series. I was so excited when I saw this new book release, and couldn't wait to read it. One of my favorite things is to read about previous characters. I love seeing how their lives have changed, as well as how they've grown not only personally, but as a family too. This was a terrific story with all of the great and crazy antics that this group is known for. Lol! So much has changed for all of these awesome characters, and I would love to see so many more stories like this one.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
I enjoyed this holiday craziness, lack of communication novella. It was chaotic, heartwarming and funny. Abigail is a human who was mated 6 years ago to Jasper, a Christmas dragon. Jasper senses in the mate bond that Abigail is not happy and Abigail, senses in the mate bond that Jasper is not happy. Without talking to each other, they come up with a plan with their friends help to fix it. Let the holiday chaos ensue. Despite being short, this well written story included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters and a fun storyline.
So fun and so very sweet. A little comedy of errors reminiscent of The Gift of the Magi I think. She's trying to slow him down because she's worried about him. He senses her worry and misunderstands so he tries even harder to make "The Best Christmas Ever". Recruiting their friends who share with their own mates, everyone takes over every idea he has and so he comes up with more while her friends make every effort to give them a chance at alone time. Never fear, love wins out in the end and all is well.
The Gift of the Magi meets A Mate for Christmas! All the fans is back when Abigail tries to make Jasper ease up on his Christmas shenanigans. But Jasper feels like he has to always do more to let Abigail know how much she means to him. When they both enlist their friends to help things get even more crazy!
The pace is fast and the tone is hopeful with a character centered storyline that has some steamy scenes. The characters are vibrant and familiar. This is a cute Christmas shorter story to revisit this world.
I received this book as an ARC, and this was the perfect time of year to revisit Abigail and Jasper, and their little girl Ruby. Tension and stress are showing up in their mate bond, so Abigail enlists her friends for help.
Schemes within schemes cause fun havoc to ensue,as Jasper wants to top last year’s Christmas foe his mate. It was fun to revisit the other couples in the previous books, too. Very fun read!
Jasper is the Christmas Dragon as his birthday falls on December 25th. He feels compelled to make every Christmas bigger and better. Abigail, his mate, senses that this is becoming a strain for him and attempts to have their friends take on some of the responsibility. Each time a task is taken from him he schemes to create another. They finally confess what they’ve been up to on Christmas Eve, realizing most of the stress could have been alleviated had they just talked to each other.

A wonderfully sweet, perfect story that gives readers the treat of revisiting where it all started and catching up on all the couples. I love how it captured the essence of Christmas, of family and friends, of projects with the stress and anxiety that comes with it, of managing the drama and the disasters and but mostly all the love that a heart can hold.
Enjoyed the ever loving Christmas joy out of this book. Mates, friends, family all coming together for a common goal. How can that go off the rails? Two mates both with the same thing in mind , make the other happy. Step one ask friends for help step two assume you know the best way step three hold on it's going to be a bumpy ride. Step four remember too embrace the love of your life.
This short novella is a sequel to a romance novel. There is a communication problem, and an adorable little girl, and sex, and lots of cameos of characters from other books in the series.
While this story could be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the other books in the series first.
It was Nov 2021 when I read book 5 (Plus many many books inbetween) so I could not remember much about past characters I struggled with this book it is a short read and I enjoy work from chant but not this one, maybe better if reading back to back so more in to past characters. The storyline was not for me. But it is a sweet read for Christmas time x
I LOVED this book! Fated mates are awesome, and this book highlights that very well. It also struck a cord with me as I have a daughter born on Dec. 22nd and was always afraid her birthday got overlooked due to Christmas. This story highlights how love, faith, and commitment are just not ideals but something to practice every day!
This was a short and sweet visit with Jasper and Abigail and Pine Valley. Love these characters and the relationship between them all. I especially loved seeing Cole growing up for the small amount he was in here. He needs his own love story at some point.
If you haven't already read any of Chants really amazing books then you are missing out on some really great reading!!! Chants stories bring to life all her characters and the feeling that life and hope can bring. Hope she keeps writing and creating new stories to bring to life.
A Gift for the Christmas Dragon (A Mate for Christmas Book 6) by Zoe Chant and Marie Cardno. Dragon shifter Jasper loves Christmas and each year tries to make it even better. His mate Abigail feels he is trying too hard and is stressing himself out so she tries to help with almost disastrous results.
It was nice to to revisit Abigail and Jasper as well as the rest of the shifters from this series. It was sweet to see that even though you have a mate bond and you are in love, and real life gets involved and there can be misunderstandings...that love dies conquer all.
Led to many more. The couple thought the other was stressed and each asked friends for help. Unfortunately they did not ask each other and things unfolded as authorities planned. Loved reading of others from previous books.
Abigail and Jasper try to outdo each other for Christmas
He tries to cram in more fun and she tries to get him to relax more. Their friends help. After Christmas is Jason's birthday. Now they can relax together.
Pine Valley sounds like such a nice place. All the different shifter types plus a few humans makes the place ideal for fun, love, adventure and danger.
I hope Zoe can add one or 2 Christmas tales there next year.
It was so much fun reading about everyone again and getting to know the kids better I loved how Jasper and Abigail were trying to one up each other. My favorite part was Ruday trying to surprise her parents
Another great story in the series A Mate for Christmas. In this one we get to catch up on what's happening with Abigail and Jasper. We also get to see many other characters from the series. The story was fun and sweet. A fantastic holiday read
This was definitely a rollicking tale of how a person could over-think about their spouse's quietly thinking moments, how children can definitely throw a damper on exciting moments, and just letting oneself talk openly to their spouse. Loved it!
Love this story. So true, how life intrudes and how often we try to "fix" things without knowing the real problem. It was nice to revisit these characters.
Sweet and entertaining. Loved having everyone helping out, and interfering, and misunderstandings between mates through not talking openly. Just found their daughter Rosie a bit too precocious and spoilt. Read through kindle unlimited.
Each book in the series was great. I thoroughly enjoyed each one. The characters were interesting both as humans and shifters. I love each one of the books being based around Christmas.
