‘MASTERING OUR MIND’ is a handmade extract from the Samadhi handbook on the subject of becoming in charge of our own mind, think what we want to think. This process is personal as there are as many different minds as there are different people. So we must find our own way by trying out this and that. It is actually about finding that one practice that will truly bring us to inner silence. Most often we will learn to lock our mind into a combination of practices before being able to stay fully focused on just one meditation object. Be confident that anyone can do this and unconcerned about the fact that some are just taking a bit longer. Once we take up the tool of sustained practice, our mind stands no chance but to submit to our will. We feed our mind with the inner impressions of our meditation objects that will fundamentally transform its habits and dynamics. When we enter the phase of soft concentration also our Ego gets a true break and as a result, our lives will become so much more enjoyable. That is the whole point of course, to live the promise of life as a master, rather than to suffer it as a slave of our mind’s creative antics. And we remember that our mind very much wants to be our friend, make us happy, so we guide it with a firm yet loving hand.

Samadhi is the highest of yogic practices, a trance state where body consciousness is entirely lost and a gradual full merging with the Self is gained.
