The Holiday Pact #2

Coming for Christmas

Rate this book
The last month? Absolute perfection. Convincing Poppy—my best friend and the other half of my soul—to turn our holiday pact into a fake relationship was the best idea I've ever had. Only, nothing about it felt fake. I asked for everything, and she delivered.

Now, with one week left in the year, I've got one make her fall so hard by Christmas Eve that she's begging to turn this "fake" thing into forever. Simple enough, right?

That is, until a little morning fun leads to the ultimate Poppy Madison Harper agreeing to do whatever I want, whenever I want for the rest of the day. Suddenly, my plan for a picture-perfect Christmas has turned into something even better—the gift that keeps on giving.

Coming for Christmas is an open door holiday story and the second book in the Holiday Pact duology. Please visit the author's website for a list of content warnings.

Coming for Christmas is all smut, little to no plot. It’s basically a holiday themed fuck fest where the two main characters continue to deny their feelings for each other. The short story is a continuation of Friendsgiving with Benefits and you would think that there would be some kind of closure. But NO! If anything, you’re left with more questions as to the future of the couple’s relationship than you started with!
I think I would have loved it since it’s so spice centric if the book didn’t end with a wide open ended ending. And it’s super annoying that the two of them could likely be a happy couple if they just had an honest conversation. Instead of just assuming they KNOW what the other person wants out of their situation-ship. There’s no third book in the series, so we don’t get to find out what happens to Nixon and Poppy. Which is so frustrating!! I assumed that since there were two books in the series we would get some closure. Fucking irritating.

This fun Christmas novella should be in your stocking, immediately.

Nixon and Poppy are at it again but this time... it's Christmas.

The character development and plot was plotting.. or was it the sex scenes?

BOTH, it was BOTH.

A quick easy read and honestly, just go pick up because I'd really like another holiday pact book.. or MANY MORE. We have so many holidays to celebrate...

It was SO good to revisit Nixon + Poppy!
I prefer his nickname though: Nixy 🫠

I just love everything about both of these characters. One of the biggest tropes, that isn't on the graphic, is miscommunication. I find it funny how they know every single thing about one another.... except for that one big thing 🫢
The holiday pact began at Thanksgiving in Friendsgiving with Benefits and is nearing the end now at the end of Coming for Christmas, so I am very excited to find out what happens after the holidays (in what I am hoping will be a third book?)!

Not only does this book have a playlist, it also has the drink recipes for the drinks that Nixon + Poppy have during the Christmas bar crawl! I think this is such a fun + unique addition to the book.

I definitely recommend this series and, since both books are technically novellas, it should only take you a few hours to become as obsessed with Nixy + Pops as I am.

I had to DNF this one after the first 50 pages. A small part of me was hoping the plot would move on from the first book at least a little bit regarding Poppy and Nixon's relationship, but absolutely not.

Aside from a little bit of background into Nixon's relationship with Poppy's parents that doesn't seem to hold that much importance, the first few chapters are primarily composed of the two MCs finding every single excuse to have sex. There's no way on God's green earth that anyone can be that horny almost all the time. And based on the reviews I've seen, nothing of any importance happens at the end either.

I really tried to commit and finish what I started since it's a fairly short read. But I was too mentally checked out after 50 pages of mostly nothing but sex.

Poppy and Nixon are back in all their sexy chaotic glory! We get an even closer look into their larger friend group and the messy connections they share as they get together for a Christmas Eve lunch and bar crawl. I loved getting a look into Nixon's past and just want to give him a big cuddle! These disaster bisexuals hold a special place in my heart and I can't wait to see what happens as their holiday pact comes to an end.

Also, I can't wait to try some of the holiday cocktails provided! Such a fun bonus!

I really enjoyed this just like I did with Friendsgiving With Benefits. Poppy and Alex made the perfect couple even if they weren't one. They both want it but are both so stubborn to tell the other what they want.
This book is just full of Christmas fun and spice with two people who made a pact to be f*ck buddy's over the holiday period, and boy, do they get things heated up.

I actually liked this one better than the Thanksgiving one. These are super fun if you want a really low effort read on a holiday and like the drama. This is not the time to be serious and I feel like a lot of the ratings are taking this too seriously. I like Nixon and his skinny jeans and Spiderman sheets, sue me LOL

Solid follow up

Solid follow up to book 1. It moves the plot along without giving anything really away. The push and pull between the 2 MCs is cute.

Delightful

Though I will say, for two bisexual main characters, why was there not a single queer and or group smut scene? That would have given it that 5th star
