Friends to Lovers

Anna May Robinson has always known that Ric Justice is the only man she'll ever love—even if he considers her just his friend. When she learns she must have a baby now, or risk never having children, she takes the biggest risk of her life: persuade Ric to be the father of her child.

Ric Justice’s abusive childhood taught him many hard lessons and now he uses his wealth as a shield between him and the rest of the world. He can only let down his guard with his best friend, Anna May. But when she proposes to him, he can’t refuse, even though he fears losing her friendship forever.

What begins as a marriage of convenience quickly turns into a fiery passion. Is it strong enough to melt Ric’s steely control? Will Anna May’s love make him question everything he’s believed about family, friendship and love?

This is the second romance novel written by Carla Fredd. I enjoyed the main characters and it mostly focused on them. I liked that the female lead is a super-intelligent woman in math and computer science. Also, it was plus that the lead male accepted her for all she was. So it was definitely a HEA. The reason I deducted a star is that there were two scenes in the novel that were alluded to that I wish that the author had fully written them out. These scenes would have solidified more the male lead's admiration of her mind and show how he was far from intimidated by her intellect.

Love and More

I loved the characters, plots, and relationships. The author did an awesome job depicting the emotional and physical abuse that destroys many individuals for life, especially children. I am so glad that Anna May was a solid foundation for Rick and his family.
This novel had numerous realistic examples of life’s struggles and heartaches, but love conquered in the end. Great writing, cohesiveness, and editing within each paragraph.

This was a good and quick read. Will try to read more from this author. Wasn't a nasty unrealistic romance.

Not for me

I'm over all these virgins. But by the time the book started getting somewhat good it was over. I would recommend but only at a cheaper price.

WOW

Wonderful story of a young man not knowing how to love. His mother remarry after his father is killed in Vietnam. Once she has a baby by her new husband,he no longer want Ric around. His mother leave him with her grandmother who is a very abusive woman. His best friend Anna May is all about love and family. Anna May is in need of a husband if she want to have a baby before it is too late. What better candidate then her best friend. Wonderful story with steamy sex. Loved Anna May's girlfriends and family. In the end Ric learns about family and how to love.
