USA TODAY and AMAZON BESTSELLER - Scott Blade is a Nomadvelist, a drifter and author. He writes the bestselling Jack Widow book series, two of which reached the Top 100 list on Amazon, knocking Harry Potter & Jack Reacher off the top spots, which angered one of the big publishers. Scott wears that fact as a badge of honor.
Scott Blade isn't a traditional novelist who spends his time stuck behind a computer desk in some dreary office. He truly walks the walk. He drifts around like the nomad he writes about, touring the world, writing mysteries and searching for the perfect coffee.
Another great read from Scott Blade; Widow rocks. Really great plot, character development, and pace. But the ending, man - that ending. Can’t wait for the next book.
Jack Widow has hitchhiked his way to Nebraska. After being dropped off by a long haul trucker around midnight (not sure why the truckers story in the first couple of chapters was germane to the overall storyline). Jack comes upon an elderly man shooting at ghosts and seemingly in distress.
He helps him home and gets entangled in the family's business. Each section is preceded by a memory from the old man John Elton who seems to be spiraling into dementia. The memories cause a ripple effect involving the Chicago mob and a decades long vendetta.
Widow is there to save them all. It's not a typical Widow tale but the violent action the same!
Widow is walking to Tent, NE when he comes across and old man shooting his shotgun at nobody. His name is John Elton, formerly Donnie D. of the Chicago mafia. His now deceased wife was the wife of the mafia boss. They had escaped together and now he has a horse ranch and family. He also has dementia. The past is about to catch up to him as now the Brasi family wants John and his entire family dead. Widow has his work cut out for him as car loads of mafia gunmen are on the way and all Widow has is a .38. Another excellent Widow!
Widow finds an elderly man in his pajamas, socked feet, & a coat, shouting at an unseen identity with a shotgun, lost in the past. Widow returns him to his home, where his grateful son, daughter-in-law, & two grandsons welcome Widow for saving their patriarch. And of course, nothing is ever as simple as it seems, as the lives in this small town start spinning out of control, & outside elements enter the picture. Widow repeatedly breaks the same hand trying to fix the problems erupting all around him.
This has become my favourite widow book to date. We give Scott a lot of ribbing on FB about taking so long to write but that was worth the wait! It had me laughing until I was crying, the whole book he was reading thing was too funny among other things. But he was also his protective deadly Widow self. Plenty of action all the way through, you'll read it in one go. The ending was tied up really nicely. Get writing 22 Scott, can't wait!!!
One of the teacher style books I have read them all. I could not put the book down. The only bummer about this book is that i.finished it so quickly. Enjoy. It is a quick read.
A very moving story. Widow was more involved with one community and family than before. Interesting story line. The ending did not have him leaving the town but can we assume he did?
Amazing book of this great series! Scott Blades continue to write better and better and it shows as this series keep getting more and more captivating! Thanks so much for sharing your talent and long life to Widow!
