Patrick Garr Slater has patiently, painfully waited for Macie to grow up. He was so focused on doing the right thing, he practically missed the fact that she’d grown up right in front of him. She was a beautiful, intelligent, sexy woman and he wanted her more than anything in his entire life. When her panicked voice told him she was in trouble, Garr wasted no time in getting to her. A mass shooting. Another mass shooting and she was right in the middle of it. Although Macie is safe, others may not be. Someone is playing a dangerous game, and the boys of Voodoo Guardians are going to make sure they stop it.
Macie Cooper has loved Garr nearly her entire life. He was determined to behave as a gentleman, waiting for her to become a grown woman. Garr’s problem was he was so focused on letting her mature, he missed the fact that she’d been a grown woman for almost ten years. Macie isn’t deterred. She’ll take the bull by the horns if she must. First, she has to escape shooters in a crowded mall at Christmas. Safe in Garr’s arms, now they have to find out who is responsible for stealing weapons belonging to the military and why are they planning mass shootings all over the country.

This one really showed what this group is about at the Holidays. It was interesting the people that Matthew slated to help, especially when one of them was one of their own. I really liked how that played out, along with the guy at the end of his rope at the sporting goods store.
My heart broke with Trak and the girl who was excited to see alligators. I wished there would have been a different outcome there.
Garr and Macie's relationship was cute, glad it didn't take longer for them to decide things.
The issue with the violence and all that went with it was a bit bonkers. From who the bad guy was and why, to the Admiral who tried to help and why he went to the VG.
I'm intrigued by the potential new employee and the woman it looks like he may be paired with and the odd connection they seem to have. It will be interesting to see how that shakes out.
Christmas time around BELLE FLEUR is even more magical than on any normal day. Although nothing is normal there. When Garr realizes the love of his life is in danger he does everything he can to get to her. Macie is smart and beautiful. There is a scene or two in this book that may require some tissues. I know I needed some. It is a beautiful book.
I chose this rating because this was a pretty good book. I enjoyed pretty much all of the characters. This was a book of determination, compassion, kindness, involvement, motivation, protection, being there for your fellow man, and also falling in love. I enjoyed Garr and Macie story. I love the way they all stick together and do what's right to help one another out. One big happy family. I enjoyed this book great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers.
Gun violence is unacceptable and Mary Kennedy again brought a subject that many have different opinions. Garr and Mace story shows that with their story. But in spite of the danger Irene and Matthew bring in the magic of Christmas and family. Parts made me cry and cheered for Grip
I just can't get enough of these stories. I want to reread them all but I know I would stop doing anything else for a least a month to reread them. They are so awesome. Love them.
I put myself on a time-out from reading Ms Mary's incredible series! All of them!😣 I was overdosing , getting nothing done, and thoroughly enjoying myself! That's why I had to take a break but I'm back on it now, and I'm going to try to use some restraint LOL
As always it is amazing catching up with everyone at Belle Fleur and watching another couple find their happy ending. And the babies!!! Can't wait for the next book!
The third generation continues to make their mark. Garr, son of Wade and Hannah, and grandson of Zulu and Gabi, Tristan and Emma, has left the service and come home. Macie Cooper, daughter of Sam and Mia, is a musician too, but is going to work for G.R.I.P. as a weapons engineer. Their reunion is interrupted by a mass shooting at a mall, where Macie is shopping for holiday gifts. It leads to a truly ugly conspiracy which the team has to solve. Another ghost finds happiness too.
