59-year-old Julia Knight is officially divorced, lost and the talk of the town.
Everything changed when her husband decided he’d rather be married to her sister instead. So when her best friend Chloe suggests they move to Rosemary Beach and start their childhood dream business of running a bakery, the timing felt right.
But Rosemary Beach, the Floridian beach town where Julia grew up, has plenty waiting for her, including something that will change her entire existence. Among cobblestone walkways, and white sand beaches, Julia faces her fears, rediscovers love, and faces her fears head on. Maybe this second chance will give her the sense of purpose that’s been missing for so long.
Visit the beautiful beach town of Rosemary Beach, where friendship, hope, love, and wine are plentiful. This is Book 6 of 6 in a small-town women’s fiction series, perfect for readers who like easy beach reads and a little bit of mystery!
Over all, I enjoyed the story... it did not need to be written in 6 short books! 1 book would have been fine ! 6 was a bit annoying to be honest. I am glad both ladies found true happiness in the end!
I found myself curious about how the author would bring all the elements of the story together. When I began reading her first novel, "Bakery on Main Street," earlier that day, I had no idea I would be delving into adult chapter books. It did take me a little time to adjust to the shorter format and the series of interconnected stories.
While I found the storyline somewhat predictable, making it an easier read, I did often feel frustration with Julia's decisions throughout the series.
As for the sixth book, I felt that the conclusion was a bit anticlimactic, leaving some questions unanswered and the drama feeling abruptly resolved. The epilogue particularly surprised me, as it skipped forward a year without addressing the events at the end of the book, which felt a bit rushed.
Overall, while this series may not align with my personal preferences, I can appreciate how it might resonate with other readers.
Woman's husband leaves her for her sister, but not to worry, because she does go to the wedding - there's cake. She travels to a childhood island spot with a widowed friend and they open a bakery. She meets an old boyfriend, and the two pick up right where they left off. There's so much more, and this novella, would have been good, except, it really isn't a novella, it's really Act 1. So, then you have to get Act 2 to read what happens next, and so on, and so on until the end. Frankly by the time I got to Book 6, I didn't really care about all the mystery and drama and well, I shouldn't go there, because that would be under SPOILER ALERT. I got through it. I wasn't amused, and now I will always question whether a series of books is a series of books, or cliff hangers requiring the necessity of reading the next one...
Overall, I truly enjoyed this story. The characters were three dimension and the ending was a surprise. The only negative thing I have to say is that I would have rather have read the complete book and not have to buy six different books. Going forward, I will stay away from the books where you have no choice but purchase attentional books to read the full story.
This was a fun, short series of books! Chloe and Julia are finally doing their dream job, running a bakery together. Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong with their move to Rosemary's beach. An old flame of Julia's comes to the rescue at each setback. Is he a knight in shining armor or is something more sinister happening at Rosemary Beach's new bakery?
Another series of short stories! The author started with an interesting idea; however, with each "story" (next book), the characters and their activities became more ridiculous. I regret wasting my time.
I would have loved it if it were just all one book. I liked the setting and the characters. Hated that I had to keep getting another book for what should have been just sections of one book
I really enjoyed this entire series watching Julia and Chloe travel their bumpy road to both of them finding their HEA. First time reading this author and I look forward to reading more from her. I'll definitely recommend this series to everyone.
I absolutely love this series. I liked the fact that the books were short 84 page reads and held my interest. Welcoming change from the large 300 to 600 page books I usually read.
I never saw the crazy coming. So happy the ladies got some love in their lives to finish the series. This was definitely a crazy one and a page turner.
